[SOLO-HARD] Arena: Alkor

Recommended Posts

The arena had been assigned it's challenger. Before the player was able to enter the arena a message prompted for the player. The arena inside was generating one of the many different themes. The field inside of the arena was in fact a graveyard with monsters of the dead lurking about the world that was inside of the dome shaped arena.

Welcome Challenger!

The arena you have selected is the HARD SOLO

SURVIVAL challenge. The arena chosen is

the UNDEAD Arena. Are you prepared?

Note: Please choose up to 1 item you are using in the arena and mention them in the first post you make, this is what you will be forced to use for the remainder of the Monster Arena challenge.

Alkor equipped his Anneal Blade- the only item (weapon or otherwise) that he would be bringing to this arena. He was a firm believer in making the difficulty as high as possible. Unlike the rest of the crowd, this particular swordsman had a penchant for doing dangerous things. The idea of a challenge drew him like a moth to flame.

When the ready signal came up, Alkor nodded to reassure himself that he was, in fact, ready. Then, he clicked the "yes" option on the window that had appeared and took a cleansing breath. It was time to jump out from the frying pan into the fire.

The monster arena set up it's configuration, and now sent out the three opponents this player was to fight. As the arena found this was the first player to do the Hard difficulty, people may or may not have been impressed with this player's guts, but either way, luck better be on his side.

Suddenly, before the player, now stood two zombies and a hooded skeleton that held a book in it's right hand, and was casting before it, two skeletons. The arena boss. Before the player can attack the Necromancer, the two skeletons both needed to be taken out first as they were guarding the necromancer with their lives.

The system now waited for the player to make the first strike, after that, the army of monsters would stand there ready to strike back at any given second.

Time to go.

The words resonated in his mind as he knelt, eyes closed and head bowed. He had never been a really religious person, more spiritual if anything. The fact that he couldn't die here permanently didn't change that he needed to cut through as many enemies as possible to get stronger. This was just a test of endurance.

He might not get far this time, but the next time? The next time, he would press further, then further until he made it all the way through. Difficulties were there to be indicators of one's strength.

"Normal" just would not give him the assessment he needed, and "Easy" would just have been a waste of his time. He felt the bones in his leg react when he stood up, and his eyes flickered open. The enemies were there, now, waiting for his move. Waiting, so that they could try to eat away at his life force.

The Anneal blade slipped from his sheath and into his grip almost effortlessly, and Alkor threw himself forward into the thick of it. The first target he chose was one of the weaker skeletons, in order of their relative difficulties. The quicker he dealt with those, the sooner he could cut down the Necromancer.

His blade sank into the enemy with bestial vigor, rending through its decomposed form.

[OOC]

The Zombie that stood beside the necromancer to his left, groaned at the player who had just finished attacking the skeleton that was a blockade for the necromancer. The zombie slowly limped it's way towards the player. Though the enemy was known to be slow, the attacks would prove to make up for it's slow pace.

Finally, as the zombie neared the player, it groaned one more time before it swung it's arm at the player's chest, ready to deal the first blow to the player's health.

After the first zombie had missed it's attack, the second zombie wasn't too far behind the first. Had the second one been a few seconds faster, then they would have attacked at the same time, because about 12 seconds after the first hit, the second hit was already being brought in from the second zombie.

The attack caused the health of the player to drop to almost half with a single hit. With one hit being dealt, the situation was already looking dire for the player, meaning the arena challenge may be prepared to end soon at any time.

The necromancer, who was standing behind his skeleton 'shields' began to wave it's hands around. Though no words could be heard, the attack of the necromancer was being casted. Sword Art Online may not be known for magic, but some creatures or even bosses in this case, had magical powers that attacked, but weren't direct magic spells.

Finally, as the movement stopped from the necromancer, a skeleton rose from the ground right in front of the player, <>, and it swung a basic battle axe towards the player's chest. The hit caused another drop in the player's health bar. Once the animated health bar was done moving, the color had changed from green, to yellow, to red.

One more hit could possibly be the end of the arena for the player already.

The impact rippled through him as he slid backward, reeling from the barrage of attacks. "Tch," Alkor said as he braced and his sword dug into the ground. His knee had scuffed and there were a myriad of red lines where he had taken damage. His eyes went in and out of focus on the enemies, a set that clearly overpowered him. His lips tugged upward in a wry smile.

"Well," he rasped, "if I'm going down, I'm going down fighting." Swinging the blade in a fierce backhand, Alkor retaliated against the zombie who had hit him like a freight train. When his attack fell short, Alkor let a soft groan out. His eyes screwed shut, and he braced himself.

At least he knew where he stood.

The zombie watched as the player had failed. It was now down to a final hit to end the arena. As the zombie neared the player, the closer it got, the louder it got to the player. The zombie then finally grabbed the player's shoulders and tried to bite the player's neck, almost as if trying to infect the player into a zombie.

As the zombie bit the player, the health bar dropped, depleting completely down to 0. The player then got teleported outside of the arena with the message stating that he had failed.
