: Ream
Real name: Ream Turan
Age: 18
Gender: Female, but she looks boyish, and is often mistaken for a male.
Height: 5 feet and 1 inch.

About:

Ream grew up in the big city of Osaka. She loved the noise and busy people who ran around doing only God knows what. She loved having no idea what everyone was up to, as it left a certain form of mystery in the air.

Mystery was something that enticed Ream.

She’s always had a certain hunger for knowledge. Anything that she didn’t know or understand, she made it her goal to figure out. Whether it be a puzzle that needed solving, or something as simple as figuring out what the dark figure in a room was, she would trudge in for the name of knowledge. Many would say she seemed brave, but in all honesty, she just has very little value for her own life. This hasn’t been caused by any damage to her personal life, or any pain she went through, or even a form of self-guilt. Ream just figures that if she died, someone else could easily take her place because she’s not very important to anything major around her. The only value she thinks she has, is her ability to gather knowledge. Any knowledge she has, becomes a part of her self-worth.

Another one of her loves are stories. Ream is known by most of her friends for gathering or making up stories about anything she thinks is worthy of sparking attention. She’s been told that she’s quite the story weaver. She collects stories, mixes them and creates new ones for the purpose of keeping her friends entertained.

This is why she joined SAO. She wanted to collect new stories and knowledge of the world firsthand. It was her goal going in, and very much is still her goal now that she knows that she cannot leave. She will create as many memories as she can.

Ream has a hard time settling down. Loving the busy life of the city, she’s grown accustomed to always being on her feet. If life begins to slow down, she can’t stand it. Even if it means leaving behind the people she loves, Ream can’t stay still for too long. She’s driven by her love of adventure, knowledge and stories, and that comes before any other passion she may gain along the way.

As for herself, Ream has always been a very straight-forward person who gets straight to the bottom of a matter. She doesn’t see a reason in sugarcoating reality. Sugarcoating is strictly reserved for fake stories in her mind. However, she has a certain kindness in her heart for the people around her. As blunt as she may be, her heart bends and breaks for others, driving her to create as strong of friendships as she can manage. She will do anything in her power to take care of the people around her, even if she might over-extend herself by doing so.

Virtues:

Honest -- Growing up in a loud city, Ream has learned that people are only as good as their word is. It’s passive, but Ream’s honesty policy has always kept her word golden. No matter how difficult it is to keep it. She won’t hold information from someone, unless she sees no reason to tell them. As in, she wouldn’t share with everyone she meets that she’s scared of spiders, but if a spider enters into play, she will tell her party “YEAH.. I ain’t touchin’ thatâ€. Likewise, she wouldn’t tell everyone she met that she’s a commitment-phobe, but if someone starts to get close to her, She’ll be honest about the fact that she will likely never be able to settle down with them.

Loving -- Ream cares deeply about other people. Even people she doesn’t know. This is because she sees every person as an untold story. She sees value in those stories, and as such, takes care of people when she meets them - Even if they’re a complete stranger to her. She gives off a loving demeanor - almost familial - to most people she meets. She does this through acts of kindness, sticking up for people she barely knows, and treating others with respect they haven’t had to earn. The way she figures it, when you love someone openly and without reason, it will give them someone who believes in them and thus make them stronger in character. That being said, Ream has always felt that stronger characters make for a better story.

Educated -- If there’s a question in the book, Ream most likely has an answer for it. If she doesn’t, then she makes it her goal to find that answer. This has made her reliable as someone that people can come to for advice or silly facts. Having grown with a love of knowledge, Ream knows quite a bit about the regular world. From history to psychology, to methods of cooking in the real world and methods of crafting things in the real world. However, being thrust into the world of SAO, where game mechanics change the dynamic of how things are done, Ream will find herself challenged to learn an all new understanding of how the world works, even if the game is designed to mimic reality.

Flaws:
Commitment-Phobe -- Ream is afraid of standing still for too long, and commitment to anything - Whether that be a person, a group of people, or even just a home - scares the ever-living world out of her. She’s most certain that if she commits to anything, she’ll be trapped by that commitment and be unable to follow her dreams.

Diminished Self Worth -- Ream doesn’t really care about herself - Only about what she can supply to the people around her. She figures that someone is only as good for worth as what they can give to others. As for herself, she figures that she could be easily replaced if the time were to come - but that her knowledge couldn’t be. That is why she protects herself and takes care of herself. If she were to find a way to protect the knowledge she held inside so that others could have it after her death, she’d be much more careless about herself. This leads her to do careless things that could get herself put in the line of fire - Such as taking damage to protect someone else. Some would call it bravery, but this problem will likely get her killed.

Blunt -- Ream finds no reason to sugarcoat reality. In fact, she takes this to a tactless extreme. She is straightforward about what’s on her mind, as well as what she knows. This has lead to her hurting a few people in her time, since this couples badly with her Commitment-Phobe lifestyle. Saying things like “I’d rather be out on an adventure than feeling shackled to you.†tends to hurt someone very deeply.
