PP F5 [QUEST] Blood in the Sand (Raidou+ Zero)

Zero watched s both Raidou and Mari faced off against the monstrous creature, one of them managing to land a hit on it. He observed the beast as it circled the group, making Zero think of an old film he would watch with his sister called Jaws and its suspenseful background music. The beast suddenly swerved, its tail splashing sand into the air, and made the white haired boy his target at the sign of him suddenly becoming distracted. It jumped out of the sand, opening its jaws as it readied to dine, only to find Zero ducking under it, the swords in his hands crossed over his chest as they pressed against the third blade in his mouth.

An unmistakable grin appeared on his face and a gleam in his eyes appeared, indicating his confidence. He dashed forward in an upward motion, injuring the Sand Sharks underbelly as it dove back into the sand, and quickly moved back near his party members. "That was close..."

Sword Art used: Demon Slash (2 turn cooldown, inflicts -1 HP bleeding effect for 2 turns)

Mari missed the sand shark the first time...but she wasn't going to allow it to happen a second time, not in a row - not like this. Mari clenched her teeth as she readied herself, crouching down into the sand, eyes focused on the sand sharks movement. Waiting.....waiting....waiting....There!

The sand shark seemed to have a tell, it would show its fin then after about 3 seconds it would jump out to attack. Mari gave a small grin. "Gotcha..." It showed it's fin, and then, just as she calculated it jumped out after and went to attack her - Mari dodged the attack, lifting her dagger to successfully pierce it's underside, just as Zero had done before it dove back down into the sand. "Ha!" Mari cried out triumphantly. It was about time for her luck to change.

Zero watched Mari as she landed a hit, and a heavy one at that, lowering the shark's health pretty bad. He knew the shark would come around back and try to attack them, making him stay on his toes in case it felt like doing a surprise attack. He held the swords in his hands up, clenching their hilts tightly, and watched the sand as it slightly moved, revealing the sharks fin. "Here it comes..." He whispered to himself as he concentrated on the shark, and leaped forward when the shark bursted from the sand in his direction. He leapt to the side, narrowly dodging its attack, and slashed his blades at it, missing it entirely as it dove back into the sand. "Damn..."

Zero had missed his mark, and Mari could see why - the shark was flailing wildly beneath the sand; she gave a frustrated sigh. The Sharks movements were erratic and there was little reason to attack it right now. If she did Mari was sure she'd miss. The pink haired girl would rather wait for her mark to calm down, wait patiently for that perfect opening then strike. Mari clenched her dagger tighter in her hand, blue eyes flicking over to Zero.

"We gotta beat this thing twice right? Is that what the quest board said?" She asked.

Raidou redraws his weapon and prepares himself, the beast moves for a strike. The beast rears its ugly mug for a moment, breaking free from the sand as its struck quickly by Raidou in his defensive position. The blade scratches the front of the monsters face, right abovr its jaw on the right leaving a bright red gash "How do you like that creature!" Raidou says gritting his teeth as he uses his blade to push the monster to the side redirecting its course.

​The Shark Breaks back into the sand with a *crash* as it moves back underneath and out of view, the grumbling being the only thing you can sense from the hulking terror.

Mari charged the sand shark just after Raidou had done, Raidou had redirected the Sand Shark's course - stopping it from diving under again. Mari charged, dagger held high over her head, and again, she sliced at the sharks underbelly. The shark's tail whipped around in an attempt to hit Mari but she side stepped it, effectively dodging the strike. The Tail slapped against the back of her spiked armour - and rather than inflicting damage on her - the Shark had just hurt itself. Mari glanced up at its HP bar. "We've hit the halfway point!"

"Well your doing much better now, which means I can switch stances!" Raidou says with a grin, readjusting his robe to gain better movement. Raidou quickly lifts and prepares his blade with a small *clink* as the blades turned, raised above his head he jumps. Raidou simply drops the weight of his weapon into the sand shark, as it raises up and attempts to bite him. Raidou shoves his left arm into the monsters mouth sideways to block its teeth with his gauntlet, as his right arm guides his sword into the monsters neck. The creature squeals and holds on tight as its knocked down, still clutching Raidou's plated arm. "Its taking a liking to me, Switch!"

Mari gave Raidou a grin, "oh whassat? You're actually having a decent conversation?" Mari gave a small laugh as she bounded forward, with the Sand Shark latched onto Raidous arm, it gave her a chance to push up off the sand and jump up and onto the monsters back. She Drove the dagger hard into the mid of it's back. It let go with a screech, and attempted to fling her off. It's tail whipping up to attack her, but it missed. The shark flailed, and attempted to dive back under the sand but Mari - utilizing the dagger lodged in its back pulled it back up. "Oh no you don't!"

Zero began to feel slightly frustrated at the Sand Shark's perseverance, it's health was low and it had to die before the fight began to drag out any longer. He glanced at Mari as she attempted to prevent the monster from diving back into the sand, and sheathed the blades in his hands, grabbing the one in his mouth. "Let's end this battle already, it's been dragged out long enough if you ask me." He stepped back once before lunging forward and leaping at the shark with his blade ready to thrust into it. He pulled his blade back as he readied himself to thrust, but found the shark's tail swatting him away.

He landed on the ground barely able to stay on his feet and glanced at Mari. "All yours, Mari." He glared at the creature as it continued to attempt and get away from the pink haired woman's grasp, although at this point it was pointless. She would end it if she landed a good attack.

Mari gave the white haired youth a warm smile as she heard his compliment, "Ahaha, thanks Zero." Despite the heat, it was nice being able to battle alongside someone she felt comfortable with, that being Zero. Raidou - he seemed to be off with the fairies. His gaze lifting to the sky. Mari sighed frowning at the stupidity of it.

Her frown quickly faded as Zero tore through the beast with his sword, stating that the last blow was hers. "Excellent!" She said as she gripped her blade tightly.

 

Mari followed suit, quickly slashing at the flailing Sand Shark. It gave an ear piercing screech before it shattered. Mari sighed, as she wiped the sweat from her brow. "It's about damn time, huh Zero?"
