(PP-F4) (Quest) Bringing the Heat to the Beast!

Late in the afternoon, the sun begins to set on a wondrous day in Sword Art Online, and i finally decided to climb out of my hidey-hole to do something productive with my day in the game. I had recently received news on a rare metal that increases the quality of an item permanently. I decided as a blacksmith, i NEEDED this item to help other in case of emergency, OR level up my own weapons. I sent out an open request into the world seeing if anyone would happen to want to join me in this marvelous quest.and for almost an hour i got nothing at all until i received a single message from a man named Tristan who said he would be more than willing to tackle the beast with me, and told me to meet at the Ice Pond, just outside of the town, and i was on my way there, to meet him.

Since recent Tristan needed something to sate his need for a challenge, with the upcoming Frosty boss fight still not yet happening. The next closest challenge that wasn't effectively a floor boss was the Snow Beast, which dropped an item much sought after by preeetty much anyone who didn't have perfect gear. While he himself did not need it, it was nonetheless a worthy challenge for tanks due to the partial phase ability the monster had.

And just like that, someone sent an open request to fight the monster. "Well what do you know." Tristan smiled and typed a response. "Meet...me...at...the...ice pond!" he spoke as he said out loud what he typed, something he sometimes did when alone. Tristan waited by the ice pond for the man he was to work with, someone he only knew as vice commander of the Knights of Blood, a guild worth its own weight. Well anyhow, I saw Ryujin there coming towards me. "Hello there."

I heard a voice from across the pond and i looked up and noticed a boy, probably the one that sent me the message telling me to meet him there. I waved at him and walked around the pond and stood next to him in my light winter jacket. I looked over the pond and felt the cool breeze on my face as it began to lightly snow and the air filled itself with the flakes of lasting winter.

 

So...you must be Tristan, i presume? I asked completely unsure of who this man really was, but he did say hello to me, which i would infer means he know who i was.

 

So this Snow Beast...whats in it for you if we take it down? I asked, in case he was going to leave if he got nothing in return for this mission at all.

Tristan shrugged. "A challenge? I've been bored lately with my current stats making mobs pretty easy to kill. So I thought I would take it on. I have perfect and unique gear anyway so I have no need for the item."

He looked out the snow ridden plains, wondering where the snow beast even was amongst it all, then looked back at Ryujin. "Well, enough of the dilly-dallying, let's set off!" Tristan grinned and stood up from where he sat, walking off.

And there it was, we had gotten acquainted and everything and now we were off on our super awesome adventure to fight some gigantic beast known as the Snow Beast. I dont know whats going on with it but i heard it was stronger than anything else, besides the floor bosses. I heard some rumors about a "phasing" ability, it completely cuts through a number of defenses and hurts everyone, no matter what.

 

Do you think the two of us are going to be safe fighting this thing alone? I asked Tristan curiously.

Tristan waved his hand, as through brushing away the statement. "We'll be fine. Alone we would have trouble, but we'll manage it together okay. I can heal and lifesteal and you seem like you will be fine. I do wonder what kind of monster exactly it is too..."

Tristan was thinking that it might be either like Avalanche, or something like a giant polar bear or wolf-like creature.

Tristan wasn't worried though. Heck, there was a possibility he could do it alone, though he wasn't willing to take the risk though.

Upon the approach to the cave the wind kicked up as the snow storm began to blow in from the north side of the map. At this rate we would not be able to see and we would run the risk of enemies spawning near us and killing us with no issues at all.

 

Tristan, we need to get inside the cave now or else we will never make it to the Snow Beast's cave. Its only about 50 meters from here, and i think i can run fast enough that we can beat this storm but we need to go now. I looked to him and as i began to walk a little faster almost wanting to sprint ahead but not wanting to leave him in the snow.

 

I waited for his cue to take off running for the cave so i prepped my items so they wouldnt fall loose or drop off when i ran for the cave. The home of the beast was so close but yet so far knowing it was somewhere inside but not on the first floor of the dungeon.

Tristan nodded and followed him inside the cave, his shield and spear held in his hands to use them at any moment. Tristan decided to just bear with the cold coming, though his <<Survival>> skill made it feel like less of a pressure on him. Well, looks like that frustrating Armadillo fight was worth it. His Twinfire Reflector shield also had an aura of warmth to it, which stopped him also freezing.

Tristan was now rather pumped to fight this beast, ready to confront them. "Alright, I want to show this beast what I'm made of!"
