[PP-F2] <<Long Live The Queen>> (Completed)

Recommended Posts

As the white light faded, the world before him resolved into Taran Village. The city made entirely of stone was near the labyrinth dungeon for this floor. The village was smaller than he expected, but it was just meant to be a base of operations for  players to assault the dungeon and then the boss. It had no blacksmith, but the general vendor should be able to sell him some healing potions and a teleport crystal. Assault players always needed to restock those before going into the dungeon.

He walked over to the fountain at the center of the town and sat on the edge as he waited for Tyger to show up.

Armor? Check.

Weapon? Check.

"Let's get goin' shall we?"

Tyger said to herself, porting from the first floor to the second floor. They weren't going to the front lines, but it still felt like it. Yeah, sure, it was only a field boss, but it still felt like they were putting themselves in danger for the good of others. Even if the others she thought about were NPC. Besides, with this mob they'd get awesome drops, armor, experience and even a skill point or two so Tyger would do more damage than a flyswatter. Baldur was probably already here, so she made it a point to not look around too long, and instead, look for him.

"Oh hey! There you are!"

Her hand shot up and waved to Baldur. He wasn't looking this way, but she'd probably caught his attention. The fountain he'd chosen to sit at was beautiful, so she sat down next to him and watched as the water fell. It just looked so freakin real. Some aspects of this game she'd never really get over.

"Ready to squash some bugs, Sir Orkin man?"

Baldur smiled at Tyger as she sat down next to him on the fountain, and saw her eyes absorb the surprisingly beautiful world. Baldur couldn't honestly say that if he had to choose between the two that he wouldn't choose this one... if it wasn't the real world. Unfortunately eventually their bodies would give out, even if they were on life support, so in the interest of living, they had to clear the castle, but that aside, this was a beautiful world, and he wished the real world could be more like this one.

Just... you know... with less death.

Oh the irony.

"Yea, I just wanna grab a few healing pots from the vendor over there."

Staying true to his words, Baldur hopped up off the fountain and wandered over to the kindly looking old man.

"2 Healing potions please, sir."

As he spoke to the NPC, a menu popped up showing what he had for sale. Baldur winced at the prices, but scrolled down and transferred the 1,000 Col over to pay for the 2 Healing Potions. They'd restore 5 HP each, effectively almost doubling his health at this level. He looked over his shoulder at Tyger.

"Alright, I'm ready."

Tyger watched as Baldur went to get a few potions, and debated whether it was a good idea to get one herself. It was better to be on the safe side, so she followed in behind him. However, she wasn't expecting to see the prices.

"This reminds me of those free to play, pay to win games."

She whispered to Baldur, who was handing over the Col for the Potions. Grimacing, she grabbed one as well, forking over the 500 Col. She'd make double that with a sale of a perfect item, but unfortunately, those sales weren't coming too quickly.

"Thank you!"

The potion was placed in her inventory for future use, just in case they needed it. She had Battle Healing and what not, but it could always come in handy.

"I'll try to tank most of the mobs for ya."

She told Baldur as she started walking towards the field they'd been told would spawn the giant Bee.

"I really really really just want to get this over with."

Her body visibly shuddered with distaste.

Baldur smiled at her as they headed over to where the <<Wind Wasp>> would spawn in large enough numbers for them to farm and generate a chance for <<The Wasp Queen>> to spawn.

"You mean you want this to bee over?" He took her hand somlemnly and squeezed it reassuringly, "It's okay Honey, I'll protect you. Come wasp may."

At this moment he was a bit more scared of her retaliation than any mob's.

The trees were sparse here, leaving enough room to move around easily, but just enough to shade them from the son above. Once the village was out of sight, he began to hear that familiar hum of wasp wings.

Tyger cringed at the pun, and rolled her eyes. That was a bit of a stretch.

"Yes I want this to be over... Didn't we already have a Bee war?"

She snickered, remembering Baldur's defeat rather fondly.

"I realllly don't want to do this. I just wanted to make sure you knew that. Juuuust making sure. Come wasp may."

She wasn't in the mood for a pun war, but she'd acknowledged his affectionate sentence, even though others might not.

"Speaking of wasp..."

She murmured, stepping forward to engage a wasp. Hopefully Baldur understood it'd be best to let her tank most of these, and get up it's hate so that it wouldn't attack Baldur. Tyger would gain health back. The bee looked in their direction as soon as Tyger approached, and she ran forward with a burst of speed, slicing at the creature with her sword. Quick start. The bug buzzed furiously, and stung at her shoulder. It didn't hurt much though, thankfully.

Baldur moved up to the Wasp, but wanted to make sure Tyger got a good solid threat lead on it before he attacked. He didn't hit that much harder than her, but one good crit could pull things away. He flanked the creature, waving his scimitar about to try and keep it from gaining and advantage against her.

"You got this babe! They're giant wasps, not tiny ones, so they're not scary at all, right?"

He probably shouldn't poke the bee-nest that was her fear of bugs.

But he just couldn't help it. What if, somewhere on the higher levels, there was a floor of nothing but bug mobs? He was really doing this for her sake,

"Doesn't matter how big they are, they're still awful..."

She whined, completely ready to destroy this stupid thing so they could get this over with. Just slash at them, kill them, and this'll be over. Breathe.

Breathe.

Breathe.

The bee watched Baldur with little beady eyes, so she took that moment to attack. The explosive power of the hit made a little ripple of air surge past the party, causing the bee to explode on impact. The sound of the bee-splosion hurt her ears, being so close to it. She turned back to Baldur, the little bit of damage she'd retained already healed up. The beesplosion had attracted another bee, and it was heading right for Tyger. However, it's headbutt missed by a few meters. Poor thing.

Baldur's eyes widened as Tyger crit the wasp and watched it explode in grand fashion. He was about to compliment her on it when another wasp whizzed in and tried to sting her. He was on it in a heartbeat, his sword, lovingly made and given to him by Tyger, creating a azure line of light bisecting the wasp as the force his blow threw it to the ground so hard it bounced off of it.

"Bee-zinga!"

He smiled for Tyger, though he didn't take his eyes off of <<Wind Wasp #2>>

Baldur had taken quite the chunk of health from their insect friend, and that alone was enough to make Tyger smile in the midst of this insect filled hell.

"Ugh! Just die already, you stupid bee!"

She snarled, charging forward while the bee was locked in combat with Baldur. It could hear Tyger coming though, and merely levitated up just enough to miss Rhoan's sword, before it levitated back down in a mocking fashion to strike at Baldur. After all, with such a powerful crit, the bee wanted him dead more than Tyger. The warrior let out a breath. At least the bee missed. Being a tank was hard work, and when someone took the aggro, well... it didn't annoy Tyger yet. Only if Baldur got seriously hurt, which wasn't now, thankfully.

As the bee attacked Baldur, he leaped back as Tyger charged it.

"AIYAH!" Baldur cried out as he stamped his foot with his lunge as the scimitar darted out and struck the exposed underbelly. There was another loud whip crack sound and a concussion of air as Baldur must have crit again, watching the bee -wasp, it was a wasp - watching the wasp shatter into polygons.

"Actually, babe, they're <<Wind Wasps>> not bees...."

He gave her a smile and looked around to see if any more were coming for them.

Baldur's quick work of the bee was impressive, so she whistled in through her teeth to compliment him.

"Not bad, Sir Orkin."

She winked at him, until he mentioned they were wasps. Tyger's gaze was flat.

"If it flies, has a stinger, is black and yellow and ugly, it's a bee. So, it's a bee. Same difference."

Another BEE flew towards them, so Tyger ran towards it, ready to slash it in two as Baldur had. However, her attack missed, and she was stung again. She flashed Baldur an annoyed look. No pain, no upset looks, just annoyance.

Baldur eyed <<Wind WASP #3>> as it stung his girlfriend with it's meat cleaver sized stinger.

"If it was a bee, it would already be dead."

He swung at it, but the wasp floated and bobbed out of the way of his blade.

"Wasps are just there to ruin your day." He said through gritted teeth, annoyed at himself for missing.

"All bugs are here to ruin my day. I don't wanna hear it."

The Bee looked at Baldur, and then at Tyger, as if trying to decide who it was going to attack. Apparently they both sucked at this game, so either one would be a good target. Tyger slammed her sword against her shield and pointed her sword at the bee.

"Come over here, you overgrown uh... BEE you!"

The insult flew over the bug's head, but the challenge was there none the less. As the bee approached, Tyger slammed it with her shield, slicing at the bee with a well placed shot. It buzzed angrily, and flew back a bit.

"Finish it off, Baldur!"

Tyger called out for him to finished off the wasp and he sure as hell wasn't going to disappoint her.

"ORKIN MAAAAAAAAN" Baldur cried out as he ran up towards the wasp and leaped into the air, his sword slashing down in contrapose. The <<Wind Wasp #3>> shattered into polygons. A small icon appeared in the bottom left of Baldur's field of vision and he tapped it, accepting the Col and multiple mats.

"This should help quite a bit with your shop. How are you doing on mats?"

Okay, that was slightly ridiculous. The man that stood in front of her was either crazy, or was the right one for her and she needed to keep him forever.

"Way to step into your role there, ace. Mats should be stocked up nice and high after this!"

She winked, still getting a few giggles over the Orkin Man yell. The death of the bee was solidified, but there were plenty more.

"How many of these do we have to kill?"

She whined, sighing. Another bee had spawned a few paces off to the left, so she charged it and swiped to catch it off guard. However, it was a miss. The bee turned around, almost insulted Tyger had attempted to hurt it, and honed it's beady little gross ugly awful eyes on her. The stinger few out, but the bee had missed.

"Buzz off, Bug brain, she's mine!" Baldur called out as he rushed the bee, his <<Hell Fang>> slicing a azure arc through the air and the bee.

As his sword bisected the insect, He saw it's health drop all the way into the yellow. It seemed his base damage was enough to do about half it's health, but his critical hits weren't enough to one shot it yet. He was disappointed, he really wanted to be able to one shot them. He wondered if maybe there was some kind of anti-wasp weaponry which could be forged.

"The information broker didn't say. She just said that they were out here farming them, and that eventually the <<Wind Wasp Queen>> spawned."

"I doubt the bee wants to take me out to dinner, Baldur. No need to be defensive, he's not my type."

Whether or not the bee understood, it still looked hurt, literally and emotionally. The demon bee buzzed it's wings dramatically, as if yelling at Tyger.

"He's a bit too mouthy for my liking."

She took Tiberius Surge and cut down the bee, watching it disappear into the bright, twinkling shards of light. She spun on her heel, but didn't see any other bees for now. They'd need to wait for a few to respawn.

"Needs to happen faster..."

Whine, whine whine. Bugs are awful. Another bee appeared in the distance, so Tyger trudged to go face it, as reluctantly as possible.

"Let's go kill it quickly. With fire, preferably."

The bee buzzed around, unknowingly targeted by Tyger. However, when she approached, it whirled around angrily, and stung her chest.

"Well hello to you too!"

Baldur ran forward, trying to be all fancy again and show off for his girl, he leaped into the air, spinning and trying to slash at the <<Wind Wasp #4>> like some kind of Jedi, but the wasp just moved slightly out of the way and Baldur's sword hit nothing but the air.

"censored" He said as he landed, blushing slightly from embarrassment, but a smile still on his face. This is what he had imagined when they had first bought the game. The two of them, back to back, fighting mobs and invincible.

Baldur's swipe had missed, so Tyger had the chance to establish the dominance needed for the bee to go after her instead. Once again, she slammed her sword against her shield to grate on it's nerves and catch it's attention.

"Hey Baldur, need some help? ORKINNN LADDYYYYY to the rescue!"

Her blade left a nice orange streak against it, damaging the bee to the point of slight disorientation.

"That's what you get, for being a bee."

But Tyger didn't discriminate. She hated ALL bugs equally. The bee stung her, but it wasn't going to do any real damage any time soon. Battle Healing cleared it up quickly.
