Ariel was in her shop..awaiting for closing time, the day was quite free, with not that many customers, but seemed to have passed more rapidly than the ones before. That was because, a little while ago, she got a new little furry friend and companion that started living with her..and eating her food...lots of food.

Kimba, the white lion cub now was taking a nap in front of the chimney fire in her shop, looking at her Ariel felt that she was getting sleepy herself and decided to move around a little to get her blood pumping, or she risked falling asleep at the desk.

While moving around she decided to check the HUD quests to see her progress till now. It's been a while since she's stuck her, in this death game, but all and all it wasn't a terrible experience. She made some friends here and there, learned how to tailor and even started her own tailor shop, joined a prominent guild made an beneficial alliance with another guild directed towards low lvl players. From a objective point of view, one could say that she was successful in this world. Her latest accomplishment was the furry thing that was sleeping now in front of the fire, so she didn't had much to complain about.

But her thoughts changed made a 180º turn when she read a previous accepted quest, something about beating a sand shark. She left this quest for later since she didn't have much when she first accepted it. But doing it now was another story, she made herself some fine gear and even had a companion to aid her. Ariel went near Kimba and patted her on the head saying: "Wake up, its time to close shop and head on a adventure."

Kimba raised her sleepy head, looked at her for a moment and went back to sleeping. Ariel's right eyebrow twitched as she drew closer to her "I said get up, or you won't get any food for dinner" she said in a bluff. She wasn't heartless enough to actually do that and put on her best poker face while saying. Kimba's eyes were wide open when she heard the word food, she immediately got up, making Ariel fall on her rear while avoiding her direct touch, and headed straight towards the exit while growling. "Oh when food is involved you get all motivated huh? At least I know that now, give me a sec to get prepared, she checked her inventory and saw a Matriarch Stinger potion from long ago. She hastily drank it and then checked the rest of her inventory. Then she headed towards the exit.

Once they reached the teleportation gate, Ariel took a look at the mission specifics another time: "Okay then we're going only one floor up..I don't really like the desert, but what can you do..those are some perfectly good spendable 3 SP that I want to get ASAP." Kimba looked at her with a troubled expression, seems she didn't fancy the idea of getting sand in her fur. Ariel seeing her distress started petting her on the head while saying:"Don't worry, when we return I'm gonna give you a extra long bubble bath that you soo enjoy..maybe I'll even join you this time" And then they stepped through the event horizon of the teleportation gate.

As they stepped out of the gate, Ariel took a look around her. She only have been once in this place, when she made a tour of all the currently available floors to pick a spot where to open her shop. She didn't venture outside of Armadillo, the main settlement  of this floor, she was greeted by the same buildings that were made out of hardened sand and rocks in the form of large domes. They started walking towards the nearest exit, Kimba as always wanting to lead the way, while Ariel kept an eye on her and the other on the map. Their objective was to reach the massive desert, El Perdido, how it was written on her map.

Finding their way through the city was fairly easy, since there weren't that many players or NPCs at the time they were there. Next they stepped out from the city gates directly on the desert sand. Ariel took a look around then turned her gaze at Kimba, while grinning:"Good thing I have my boots, walking in this sand would've proven difficult without. How about you? You're good?" Kimba took a look at her boots and growled, she refused to give her the satisfaction of victory and decided to still walk in front of Ariel, with a little more difficulty that she normally walks. Ariel let out a chuckle seeing how hard she tried, it seems that even if she was a cub she was still a proud lion without doubt.

They walk like that in a straight line for about 45 mins or a full hour and all they could see in front of them were only sand dunes. Ariel looked behind to see if Armadillo was still visible, but all she could see were more sand dunes."Good thing we have the system map, or else we could be in serious trouble." she muttered resuming her way in following Kimba. But suddenly the lion cub stopped and bare its fans, Ariel followed her line of sight and  saw nothing at first. Then something..no, the sand appeared to be moving in front of them closing up. Ariel unsheathed her rapier and went by Kimba's side. Then she clearly saw some kind of shark fins rising from the sand. 6 meters in front of them the fins got buried under ground and a few moment later underneath Ariel a huge shark-like mob surfaced throwing her a few meters into the sand. Luckily Kimba was out of the attacks AoE and rushed at Ariel's side.

"It's okay I'm fine..just got me by surprise that's all..It won't happen a second time, you okay?" Asked ariel while getting up and brushing the sand off her clothes. Kimba let out a roar while watching her then fixed her gaze at the field boss. Luckily for Ariel she had her damage light armor skill brush off most of the damage. While looking at her HP bar she sees only 2 points missing and grins while addressing the boss:

"Was that all you've got? because I'm very disappointed if that is so."

While grinning Ariel dashes towards it leaving her familiar behind. It would be difficult for Kimba to attack alongside Ariel on this sandy terrain, not to mention dangerous. As she was closing on it the shark revealed its fangs and dashed towards her as well, with its mouths wide open. "Good, come a little closer" though Ariel while aiming for his right side.Her aim was true but whe she tried to deflect the incoming blow with her left vambrace the shark managed to scrape her upper arm. Kimba roared when she saw a drop of blood coming out of her would.

"It's okay" shouted Ariel at her familiar, a smile creeped upon her face seeing that her familiar was genuinely worried for her sake.Then she directed her attention towards the shark again and dashed towards it, but the shark went under the sand like the first time. Ariel made serpentines in the sand trying to not get hit a second time but the damn thing didn't show any visible signs of moving. She paused for a moment when Kimba suddenly roared again, coming at her side then moving to a apparent random location and started growling. "Where is it girl? do you sense it?" but the cub continued growling. Ariel quickly rushed there and motioned her familiar to move aside while she stabbed the sand with all her might. The huge shark then appeared from the sand letting out a hiss followed by some kind of roar. Hurting Ariel at her left foot in the process.

The mob then went in a rage rampage and started swirling around throwing sand and biting in every direction. He got Ariel's leg left again. This time Kimba rushed at her side and bit the giant shark before returning. It seems she made a little damage as droplets of blood started forming where it was bitten earlier. Kimba continued to growl while Ariel was regaining her footing..backing a little so that they don't get caught in its rage frenzy."I think its going to change her attack pattern, stay clear of it until we figure out the new one." Said Ariel in a calm tone while with an eye looking at her familiar, and at the mob with the other.

Seeing the mob rage on Ariel thought about attacking it from behind. She silently motioned Kimba to give her some space as she tried to sneak behind it as stealthy as she could. She was 6 meters behind it and the monster was still busy raging on in the sand, hitting apparently invisible foes. She was now 4 meters behind it, she was getting anxious, her blood started boiling. The last 2 meters she started rushing towards it and stabbing it right below his fin. Then she tried to quickly get back. But the shark heard her and turned around after being hit. It wanted to bit her but Ariel defended herself with her vambraces again, but this time they couldn't absorb all the damage.

She backed off but the shark began chasing her, opening its big ugly mouth and trying to bite her again. Seeing as he couldn't touch/bite her for a second time, it burrowed itself under the sand again. In that instant Ariel turned her gaze towards Kimba and was about to speak but the lion cub already knew what to do and went to a random direction and suddenly stopped letting out only a small growl. Ariel then dashed towards the indicated spot and stabbed the sand a second time with all her might. Now she didn't care anymore about receiving damage, all she wanted was to end him. pronto!

After successfully hitting him once Ariel retracted her rapier and stabbed the same place for the second time, this time she continued pushing her rapier with both hand, until the black tip of her weapon could be seen coming from the sand shark's mouth. She kept that position until the mob disintegrated into polygons. Then as Kimba approached she sheathed her precious rapier with her elegant trained reflex. She then looked at her HP bar, a little over half  was remaining."Should have done this sooner" she muttered as she got down to see with Kimba the loot he left behind.

After picking up the loot Ariel gave Kimba a nod and then started checking her map while saying:

"I guess its time to go home now, let me see where we are right now." but she didn't get a chance to as she heard Kimba roar, Ariel hastily turned towards where she was and she saw a lizard like mob crawling towards them. Ariel quickly unsheathed her rapier and pierced it in the back."Trying to get me by surprize are ya..well It's not going to work pall." she then pushed her rapier harder so that it sinked even further through the lizards thick skin.

As she pushed harder the lizard began squirming around trying to escape the swords grip. It laid with its belly pressed onto the sand  only moving its head, legs and tail. Kimba let out a roar but Ariel ignored it while watching the poor mob squirm helpless. Then she hot hit the the lizard's tale, it hit her hard enough to get her to loosen the grip and allow the try to flee. But Ariel quickly recovered and stabbed it another time, with deadly precision she hit the lizard directly in its head. The mob transformed into polygons almost instantly, leaving behind a "lizard's skin" item and some col.

As Ariel just deposited her loot she could her Kimba growl once again, then hears a hissing sound to her left and without thinking, just pure reflex, she impales yet another lizard. But this one swinged around more wildly, throwing sand all over the place almost blinding the 2:

"Just cut it out with the sand, it's not gonna help you in any way! your only making me mad and prolonging your death" yelled Ariel flustered. When its swing became out of control, Ariel retracted the sword and the lizard backed away a few meters before facing them and letting a wild hissing.

Seeing it act defiant towards them, hissing and such, Ariel was happy that only Kimba was Around her. As she has already seen Ariel's weak side, now it was time to see her animal side, the part that drove her to unconsciously lust for blood. With a grin she looked at Kimba, who just stood observant behind her only while letting out a roar. Ariel then turn her gaze and focused at the prey in front of her, the little lizard will wish it died from her first strike as now, Ariel let out a intense almost visible killing intent. It would've colored, the space behind Ariel would be black and distorted by her killing intent. It was very hard to get in that "Berserk" mode of hear, but not impossible. From now on, she would savagely attack any future 'prey' she lays her eyes on. With a grin Ariel dashes towards her target and not giving it a second to flinch, she stabs her rapier through its head and into the sand below. Killing it instantly while grinning.

Shext she ignored Kimba's concerned look, while seeking her next target left and right. They didn't have to look for too much as after a couple of minutes a new challenge presented itself. From the sands, raised a massive creature of golden color that let out a huge howl, from behind Ariel, Kimba let out a more powerful roar in response while Ariel dashed towards it. Aiming for the creatures mid part, where its lungs would be if it had, the creature didn't appeared human, it reminded Ariel of the "Elder tree" mobs, she encountered at the 3rd floor. Ignoring the memories from that time that were beginning to resurface, she thrusted her sword at the intended spot. Hitting the desired zone dead on. She received some minor damage as retaliation from the mob but ignored it and focused on her next move.

She  retreated a couple of steps to better examine her opponent, the first strike was a reflex upon seeing that the monster was howling, not looking at her. But not she had its full attention and she had to find out its weak spot, she felt the bloodlust get stronger as this mob was more difficult than the lizards from earlier. Taking a better look, this appeared to be a "elemental" mob, its element being obviously sand, she remembered the 3rd floor mob..its element was probably "Nature" or "Wood". Stabbing it in the face would probably prove efficient like before, she didn't knew why and honestly didn't care. She had her target now and rushed directly at it, but her aim was a little of and she hit it where its chin would've been. In the same time receiving damage from it as well.
