Somewhere, in Starting City Shinex being lazy. He was sleeping on a bench. A place two or more people normally sat. He took up the whole space since he was lying down. He rolled over and fell on the ground. It was obvious he woke up. "Oh come on!" He quickly got up and brushed himself off. He was tired, but he didn't want to go back to sleep he started walking towards the tavern. He noticed some other people nearby, but couldn't see that one of the was Ariel. Normally, Kimba would have made it obvious that Ariel was near. Unfortunately, Kimba was behind someone in Shinex's  point of view. Shinex got closer to the group but was facing the tavern. He could see them if he faced their way. They could also see him if they faced his way.

L smirked at Ariels remark and responded in a light hearted and sarcastic manner "Im no wannabe. I am the master samurai, the best there ever was!" He placed a hand on Vasth's shoulder and gave Ariel a non serious glare "I'll happily prove it too" He retracted his Katana from the grass and sheathed it again. "Where about's shall we fight? Name the location" A cheeky grin spread across his face, daring them to challenge him. L liked a good challenge and it wasn't often that he ever got one. Unless of course he wanted to pick a fight with one of the mavericks, but then again. The only people who can't fight mavericks are basically everyone but maverick hunters. It was a pity that mavericks actually existed.. and to be fair to them, sometimes it wasn't even their fault.

The new guy vanished in a blink of an eye, completely misunderstanding her relation with Life. After all she only meet him during a short period of time, and they didn't exactly got to chat that much. And judging by the high level player that were there that time, it was safe to assume that he was higher in lvl than she was. But her pride as a swordsman screamed that she'd accept the duel request, so with a prideful voice she said: "Right here! And as the provoked party I think it is within my rights to choose the type of duel were going to have."Her voice gained an excited tone while she continued:

"I propose a 1 to 1 duel in which the first one that lands the a successful hit wins. What do you say?" "master samurai he says..I'll have to put that to the test. I didn't expected a duel, but can't back down now can I?". While thinking the last part, she broke the guard stance and entered her fencing "En garde" stance(check sig) while showing a broad smile. Kimba decided to let them have some room, backing away a few meters.

 

((I don't know exactly how first hit duels work.. if you hit and activate my thorns..does that result in a draw or the effect doesn't apply in this case?

L raised an eyebrow, she seemed to have misunderstood but a perhaps a duel would be more interesting than hunting down mobs to slaughter. "First hit? Alright" He smirked, if it where a half health duel it would be too easy but this would at least give her a better chance. "Tell you what, ill give you the initiative" He sent her the duel request and drew out his <<Fates Calling>> katana "Well then Ariel, fates calling for ya. Let's see if you can hit me" He smirked and lowered his stance, his blade at the ready. He never really got into a duel with another player. As far as he could remember that was, but then again, he had forgotten a lot.

Ariel got distracted for a second by the duel request: "Okay then get ready!" she lowered her stance as well, in fencing at least, giving your opponent  a chance to strike first was a rookie mistake. But this guy affirmed to be a master samurai, she didn't have deep study in bushido, but knew that one of the samurai's virtue was "Benevolence" or mercy...or was he just sincere?..discarding such thoughts by shaking her head Ariel replied:

"I'm afraid I'll have to leave her waiting, I for one believe one makes his own fate." she hopes it made more sense to him that it did to her. She concentrated on finding the best spot for her to hit, a strike at the heart would be easily deflected, she needed to hit one of the more exterior vital parts. In the end she decided to go with his right side, a little above his waist below and the ribs.

After taking a short breath, Ariel pressed the "Accept" button of the duel request. The next instant she runned with all her might, gaining momentum for the thrust, closing in on the target. But her aim was a little off and missed.

As Vasth walked around and he couldn't the girl He frowned he thought to himself  he would say sorry once they meet again. He thought he would walk back to where Life and Ariel were. He walked through he saw this guy that look like a ninja sleeping on a bench and then roll over then fell onto the ground.Vasth smile that was funny but he walk back to the tree. As he walked back near the tree he saw Life's and Ariel's swords drawn. " errr are they fighting." he thought to himself. He grouches behind a wall and looks over to watch the fight and Ariel was the first to strike.

L watched her closely as she nervously prepared to strike. His beliefs stood firm, and his nerve unwavering. He watched her rush him, a small smile broke across his face as he predicted the point of her attack. His aura alone was probably putting her off. "Keep your eye on the birdie" With a simple step and change of his centre of gravity, the blade flew past him. Almost as if he was weightless at that point he faded outwards like a phantom his blade following his movement. It was much later that his katana found it's mark, from the bottom left of her torso slicing its way to the top right. The blade continued as a singular swift motion, and like a full crescent, finally sheathing into the large scabbard on his back. "Dead" He gave her a wink and stretched, yawning lazily as the victory screen popped up.

Shinex apparently didn't get anything from the tavern. Nothing interested him so he just left. After walking out of the tavern, he noticed two people fighting. The fight was over in one hit. A first strike huh? Shinex immediately noticed that Ariel lost the battle. Good thing I didn't bet. Shinex joked. He walked over towards the two fighting and hollered out. "Hey Ariel! What's up with that? That's two in a row." He really doesn't know if it was two in a row. Shinex only watched Ariel fight players twice. Either way, he may regret making that remark.

Vasth watched as Ariel missed her strike. "Ouuuu that gotta be annoying." he thought then Life strikes and connects and then the victory sign pops up for L. "One strike duel huh?" Vasth got up from behind to wall and walked up to them. "Well what was that about you two." Vasth frowned "The moment i am gone you two fight you should know better L, Well i am done for now, Let go and kill some monsters." Ariel looked angry.

After receiving the diagonal slash across her torso, Ariel stood there with a blank expression looking at the message: you were defeated!
She didn't know how to react, yes she did lose sometimes in the fencing championships she attended IRL, but she didn't feel like this...so unknowing how to react she stood there for some seconds before hearing the 2 familiar voices from a distance. Then a sudden rage overwhelmed her and before she knew it she lashed out to the two:
"Okay, I know I've lost 2 times already. You don't have to rub it out, do you know how it feels to lose 2 times in a row at something you we're once known in the entire world of fencing for??? DO YOU???" She then felt a thin hot stream trailing on her left cheek. She quickly used her free left hand to wipe it off before somebody saw her. From where she was staying only Life would have been able to see that since the other two saw only her right side with the sword hanging still in the air.
She then sheathed her black rapier and extended her hand towards Life saying:
"You have managed to prove your words, I don't see you as a master samurai but I will acknowledge you as a senpai (in the meaning of a superior) and would like the permission to address you as such. You have displayed magnificent calmness and virtue, as requested from a samurai from the Bushido Code." For the first time in this god forsaken game she had found a honorable warrior and would've liked to keep him as a friend and ally in the future.

Vasth stood there blinking.She was really angry but the reason why he stood there was because it was his first time ever see a girl this angry.Well maybe not his childhood friend but still it was surprising to see this happen. Vasth frowned "Well what is this L,teasing a weaker person Er not really heroic of you is it?" Vasth raised an eyebrow and covered his mouth to stop the smiling.He didn't want to be on bad terms with Ariel since she gave him a free item,also lying about hearing I was beaten by a boar. Vasth need to respect that. "So what now? Are going to kill some monsters or not,Oh by the way," He turned and faced the newcomer "Sorry for being rude, you must be with these two right,well nice to meet ya,my name is Vasth."

At first he was confused about her outburst but the message sank in as soon as he noticed the tears streaming from her eyes. Maybe he overdid it with the last comment he made. He took her hand and held it there for awhile, his thumb caressing the back of her hand. He had a faint smile spread across his face, there, but not very noticeable. "Senpai? I don't see why not. Don't stress to much about the loss.. fencing in a game and real life are very different things." He heard Vasth speak and tried not to cringe. "For one, i don't have to be heroic if i don't want to. Two, I saved your ass from a boar, im sure i did my fair share of heroic for today. Three, take a joke, will ya?" He shook his head and took a deep breathe, looking at the new guy "It's not about the number of losses, it's about the number of lessons learnt my friend" L checked the time, it was still fairly early in the afternoon. This was turning out to be a long day. He had almost forgotten "I suppose this is in order eh, Ariel?" He smirked and started to write out the friend request right in front of her.

After calming down, Ariel let go of his hands and accepted the friend request with a smile: "Don't worry senpai I'm okay now, thank you." She then turned towards Vasth visibly molested by his remark: "I have to inform you that he wasn't 'teasing' me, but as a gentleman he agreed to duel me...I don't know if you are aware but 2 warriors can understand each other better after clashing blades. And as a result of it, he proved his words that he was * she hesitated in saying master then continued* skilled with the katana, and even if he appears to be younger in age than me I shall treat him as my 'senpai' in swordsmanship."

She then let out a sigh while closing her eyes and returned to her cheerful state: "I for one can happily accompany you in a mob hunt, but can't say I'll help you in fighting one. I would keep the more powerful ones from distracting you and see to that you don't die." while saying the last part a grin started taking over her usual smile.

All the guy did was nodded. "Okkkk." I turn around back the L and Ariel. Vasth nodded "Your right but I was think of doing a bus if you don't know what's that term in RPG's well basis it means when a high level trains a low level,mostly high level tanks the damage and the low level takes the kill,which is like riding a bus,but i figure that would waste to much time anyway,So now we got this over, want to go and kill some monsters,I want to try out my new spear i love the dragon head." Vasth pulls out his spear from his back and shows everyone and smiles. " I am hoping to get some light armour to match with this.Btw can you change the colour of a weapon?" Vasth wanted to change it's colour to blueish black. "Let go walk and talk or we will waste to much time."

He cringed again but he had to spare the boy. It started getting later into the evening than he would have liked and he still had a lot of things to get back to. Instead of focusing on recovering his memory, he bumped into a random bunch of people and got himself into a duel. He had never been called Senpai before but he could get used to it. He coughed and looked around for a moment before speaking "To be honest i don't think there's much daylight left to be faming monsters, that and i have to get back to a certain someone about my guild application" He had been meaning to talk to shark about joining the knights of christ for a while after the hydra had been defeated. He waved his hand in front of his face "Anyway I'm off, It was nice to properly meet you Ariel. Don't feel to down about the loss" H smiled crookedly and walked away heading towards the guild hall, maybe he'd do some real training on floor 9 before hand perhaps?
