[PP-F4] Saving Valentine

Recommended Posts

Noticing the giant's rookie mistake, Ariel hadn't thought twice before running towards it after skilful dodging the incoming club, once hearing Tyger's warning. As it closed in she unleashes all her accumulated momentum into the mob's left foot hoping to make it fall before reaching its weapon. Her attempt landed successfully as the mob started losing its balance as it started running slowed, in an attempt to not fall on his face. The blonde then turned towards the ginger tank and shouted with a smile: "Your turn Taiga!! Thanks for the heads up!

Both Baldur and Ariel had managed to land hits, while the rest of the team scattered to avoid the brute's club. The angry eye of the cyclops, after it reached it's club, focused on Tyger and her red hair. It made her an easy target, on top of the heavy armor that made her a bit slower. The Lonely Cyclops roared, chucking it's club at Tyger with malice. The large (practically a tree on it's own) club hurtled towards her, and Tyger dodged just in time. She darted to the left and rolled, shield up just incase she'd mistaken her trajectory. Thankfully, she didn't. "This guy likes ditching his club! Gives us an opening!" Tyger hollered out. While the Cyclops took his deliberate, long steps to get to the club, Tyger sliced at his ankle, watching with satisfaction as the deep cut tore some of his HP away. She watched the rest of the team, hoping they'd have similar results.

Baldur skidded to a  halt as the giant Cyclops picked up its giant club and threw it at Tyger. He was glad to see the massive weapon miss as she rolled to the side. The mob now took off back the direction they had just came from in order to retrieve it's weapon, and Baldur sighed as he ran back the way he had just came.

"Make up your mind you dumb beast!" Baldur called out to it as he took another running strike at the mob, slashing down through it's upper leg with another powerful strike. The mob seemed to stagger and slow, but it's massive steps meant that that changed little in the grand scheme of things.

"You know what they say, an eye for an eye!"

Baldur just had no way of getting up that high to drive his sword through it.

Ariel wanted to facepalm herself when she saw how dumb the Cyclops was... 'What was I expecting..even in legends this things aren't brighter that a bird, raw strength being their forte' she thought as she readied herself for another shot at the incoming mob. This time she decided ti pierce its foot from behind, hopefully making it lose its balance and fall. So she awaited for the right time, when the giant passed her as she quickly thrusted her rapier into it's heel with that hope in mind. She turned to hear Baldur's comment and add one of her own: "And some teeth for the ground." It wasn't her best but hopefully it would prove right if her hit managed to disturb it's balance and make the giant fall on its face. She then would add, after looking at its HP bar: "Just a little more, 2/3rds down already!"

Tyger gritted her teeth as Ariel made fun of the beast. Granted, it wasn't the smartest crayon in the toolshed, but Ariel taunting it wasn't going to make it feel any better. And, being the resident meat shield, wouldn't make Tyger feel any better. The 'suggestion' that Cyclops was doing it wrong seemed to resonate. When the hulking beast returned to it's club, it refrained from tossing it. Instead, the Cyclops let out a bellowing roar that suspended Tyger as she tried to run with it's sheer force. The more it's HP dwindled, the angrier it got. Blood was rushing past her ears, and it was making it hard to hear. At least Sir Five's lady wasn't a howler, who yelled and screamed until someone rescued her. Thank goodness.

The Cyclops took advantage of his sheer power and began running towards Tyger. The redhead zipped between his legs and sliced at an ankle, but not before being battered like a golf ball with the club. She flew sideways until a tree stopped her path. "Way to give him ideas..." She hissed under her breath, picking herself up off the ground to rejoin the fight. Cyclops was looking worse for wear, which could only mean they were making good progress.

Baldur lunges for the ankle of the Cyclops, slashing furiously across and digging another deep red wire mesh furrow into the leg of the beast. The digital creature let out a furious roar of pain, but it was not yet felled. Quickly recovering, Baldur lept back over by where Ariel was preparing to strike next. "Switch!" Baldur called out.

They were whittling it down quickly, but not fast enough for his sake. Through this creature and this event, Baldur felt like he could stick it to Kayaba, but he wanted to obliterate the mob, to show Kayaba that it was nothing to them, but it even though they were making good time, Baldur wasn't satisfied. He needed to blow off more steam.

"Maybe if we cut it down to size, we can see eyes to eye?"

Ariel shrugged while asking: "What?" before Tyger experienced the sensation a golf ball does. She went for the hit when Baldur shouted but somehow managed to trip on something and went tumbling around... Memories of a similar experience that involved swimming into murky waters invaded her mind. She'd straighten herself up but see that the chance to strike has passed. 'Why is it that when I screw up, I do it big time...?' she asked herself while going to Tyger's location. With an apologetic tone she addressed, more like a whisper:"Sorry." she said half embarrassed about her little stunt earlier.

Picking herself up off the ground and out of the green, Tyger returned to the battle quick enough to see Ariel miss her opportunity to attack. Gritting her teeth, Tyger shook her head slightly, ridding herself of the distraction as Ariel approached. She apologized, and Tyger shrugged. "No worries. The Tiger can pick up your slack." Tyger teased, nudging Ariel with her elbow playfully. Sword glowing with power, Tyger began to run forward to meet the Cyclops head on once more. "NOOOOO!" He bellowed, brandishing his club once more. His eye darted over to Valentine, who was HIS. These puny humans just didn't understand. As Tyger approached, her sword connected with the ankle of the beast, inflicting a good, impressive bit of damage as the Cyclops roared out in pain. Falling to one knee from exhaustion, it looked as though this battle was almost over. If Ariel had hit, the tank would've taken last hit. But, I'm okay giving this one to Baldur. She thought to herself before calling out to her lover. "Baldur! This is it! Finish it off!"

Baldur rushed forward as Ariel called out for him to finish the mob off and end this. Gripping his katana tightly in his hands, he rushed towards the massive beast who Tyger had just laid low and leaped into the air, his Katana poised to several the head of the Cyclops in a single blow, his final coup de grace of Kayaba's sick, twisted quest.

"This ends here!" Baldur roared through the air, and was suddenly the focus of the creature's one giant eye. A hand flashed out from the side, and Baldur had barely enough time to turn mid air and parry the blow as the two deflected off of one another and he crashed down into the ground where he had started. Baldur let out a growl and a curse as he steadied himself watching Ariel move up to attack in his place.

"Get him!"

'Make it count' she told herself while seizing the opening Baldur offered her. By the time the Cyclops even thought to remove his club from disadvantageous position the blue caped guildmate' parry left it, Ariel was already midair trusting her rapier under the giant's eye. She purposely avoided hitting the eye so that it could see her grin in a predator like way, almost as when a lion sees a wounded gazelle in front of it and licks its lips. Then with a kick the blond did a backflip as the monster disintegrated into polygons, landing graciously near the two and making an exaggerated bow.

"Thank you, you've been a wonderful crowd." she said with a mischievous smile, then directed her attention towards the place lady Valentine was. "Let's get the two lovebirds together and finish this thing." slowly starting to walk towards the woman in question. The two reunited and thanked the group, then everybody went on their way with the thought that they helped a couple be together. Like a small team of Cupids.
