After making the hole a few inches deep Mari decided that if she hadn't hit a sap vein by now, she wouldn't do so at all. Another tree that was just a normal, crappy tree. Mari sighed stepping away from the tree. "Maybe I should take a break from the damn trees and look for something else..." Mari said to herself, as she casually strode deeper into the forest.

Once she had walked for a few minutes Mari wrinkled her nose; catching the scent of something sweet on the air; was that? Mari moved closer to the scent; and sure enough; she was right. There was a tree covered in golden sap, it oozed out of every nook and cranny it had. Mari grinned, as she pulled out her dagger. "well, looks like I don't need to take a break from trees after all..." She said as she approached the tree.

Mari chipped away at the hardened sap on the exterior with one hand; the other held a large beaker; ready to catch the fresh sap. Which is what she preferred. Sure she could melt down the hardened sap with a low burner; but she preffered to get it fresh, and pure. Untainted by the dirt and muck from the forest. She watched it pour into the beaker; when it was full she capped it off and placed it in her inventory. "Success."

Why stop there? Mari needed this; a lot of it. She pulled out another beaker, and pressed it against the side of the tree. "I should be able to make quite a large amount of calming honey with all of this..." Mari said thoughtfully. She had seen it's effects on Locke; and was interested to see what other effects it had; she had a meeting with Kiru soon, perhaps she should ask her. Once that beaker was full too Mari capped it off and placed it safely away in her inventory.

The flow of sap dried up and Mari knew that it was time to stop, and leave the damned tree alone. Before she did however; she pulled out her map, and marked the tree on there; for future reference. It was good to know that there was a tree literally oozing with the golden ambrosia. Mari put her HUD away and turned around, deciding that since she had enough to craft for a single day; she'd slowly head out the forest.

Mari paused; as she noticed a group of butterflies in the clearing to her left. She scratched her chin, considering catching them. It'd be a bother; but their various coloured wings were very useful in an array of different potions. With a small shrug of her shoulders Mari headed over to the clearing. There were very strongly scented red flowers scattered about the floor; and there mere scent of them made Mari feel dizzy. "Ugh..." She held her head, rubbing a temple. "Potent stuff..." She muttered.

Mari decided to hell with the butterflies; they could wait; she needed to pocket some of these insane wild flowers. They looked similar to roses; but held no thorns, and as Mari started picking them she noticed that they had a sticky residue on the leaves that left a tingling sensation on her fingers. Mari paused; wrapping up her hands in cloth before continuing till she had about a dozen of the flowers. "Very useful..." She said.

Mari was glad she had moved to this area before leaving; not only had she managed to get some strange flower; but now she was able to easily catch butterflies. The cloth she had used to cover her hands to collect the sticky flowers was sticky itself. All Mari had to do was swing the cloth around in circles a few times above her head, and viola! She had an array of butterflies stuck to it. Red, blue, yellow, white...Mari said the colours aloud as she picked them off the cloth and placed them into a small glass container. It didn't matter if it had no air holes, they were more useful to her dead.

Mari left the clearing; opening up her map again. Making the location on it. How had she not noticed these things before when she lived here? Probably because she wasn't an alchemist and such things didn't stand out for her. Now, all these minute details did. The mushrooms growing at the base of the trees; the tall grass that was different in texture and colour to regular grass...the butterflies; various phosphorescent bugs and insects. They were all rather useful to her.

Mari was almost out the forest now, every so often she'd stop to inspect something, a fallen log; an oddly coloured beetle. But she was coming up short. Mari could very well stay longer, and continue her quest to find materials, but right now she just needed to quickly finish up so she could get back to her shop and start crafting before the day was over.

With her final, quick look around the entrance of the forest Mari decided that she was done, she left the forest and the screams that came from its depths. Only just now realizing that those tortured wails and cries of pain were around her the entire time - and she had failed to notice them. She guessed it came from living there for some time. Now; she spent what small times she was able to actually sleep on the floor of her shop. It was outside a safe zone so she was actually able to stay there.

Mari headed toward the teleport pad outside the Safe Zone; "Floor 10 - Outskirts!"

With those words, she was whisked away, ready for a day of crafts.
