It was so gross, it made her feel a tad ill; knowing that the crunching beneath her feet wasn't what she assumed to be fallen and dead leaves; but the crunch of tiny, brittle animal bones. Still, it was intriguing. Mari didn't realize that such plants existed like that on Aincrad. Then again; this digital prison held a myriad of secrets and wonders. Mari wanted to know how she could use this flower to her advantage.

"I could make a powerful sleeping drought with you." Mari said as she, ensuring her hands were safely wrapped; started picking the flowers, one by one. Till she had a dozen, she placed them in her satchel. "I love this forest sometimes. " Mari said with a sort of malicious glee as she stood up straight again, casually striding past the field of flowers; ignoring the crunch of bones beneath her feet.

Once Mari was free of the noxious flowers she removed the damp cloth from her face, taking in a deep breath; enjoying the somewhat fresh air. Still, it was better than breathing through damp material. "Ugh, that is better." Mari said with a sigh; "mmm... 5 materials so far..." She said to herself, counting over them in her head; it was nowhere near enough, Mari was hoping to leave today with a hefty 20 or more; alas she had only just managed to hit 1/4 of that number, and it seemed as though she would be here throughout the night if she continued to stay. Still, would staying the night be so bad?

Mari looked up, pressing a flat hand to her forehead to try and determine the position of the sun; but it was near impossible. With the thicket of the forest, and the wavering mists it made determining how much light she had impossible. According to the time it was only mid afternoon, but darkness could fall much quicker than anticipated. Especially when trawling a forest echoing with screams from the damned.

Mari sighed; there was no way she would be able to determine how much time she was spending in the forest. All in all she didn't mind spending the night, but if she did spend the night, she would want to do so in familiar territory; and this area was the exact opposite of that, so Mari decided to loop back around, this time she would avoid the field of blue flowers; she would rather be awake and alert in case she managed to come across any other useful materials.

Mari was heading back to the river; being sure to skip the flowery blue clearing; as she walked on it's outskirts she noticed another sap coloured tree; however this sap was a deep red rather than a golden amber. Mari grinned, as she approached the tree with her dagger out; she chipped away at the dried sap. Once fresh sap began to flow Mari grabbed a vial and began to collect it. Once it was filled Mari took the time to mark this tree on her map, along with the clearing of blue sleep inducing flowers.

Mari had more materials at this point during her travels last time than she did this time; but not by much. This time, Mari didn't have the stress of crafting, or running out of materials. She could hear the sound of running water and knew she was back near the river. Now she had the choice to go East, toward her humble home or South, back toward the exit. Mari decided to head south, toward the other field of sticky red rose like flowers; and to the other sap covered tree; then if she felt she needed to - she could go back to her cave for the night.

Mari followed the river along, till she reached the clear pool again; it seemed like so long ago; when she had gone and retrieved the water and sat by the pool of water; soaking her feet as she purified the water. Was it really that long ago? Mari checked the time, and it was only a few hours ago; yet it felt like it was yesterday, Mari sighed as she scratched the back of her head. Maybe it was time to head in soon....but she had so much more to do.

Mari contemplated turning in earlier than planned; if she did - she could go ahead and start her familiar quest. Mari wanted her familiar before the boss battle, and now was as good of a time as any. Mari scratched her head, she would have to make the decision soon. She had happened upon the field of red rose-like flowers once more.

Mari didn't bother with the flowers this time, the butterflies were more valuable; she caught quite a few in a large, glass jar and shoved that in her satchel before moving forward.

Mari would swing part the tree; but beyond that - she was tired, and she was worn out. She had been out gathering materials non-stop for the past two days, she had enough for at least 3 days of crafting, but she wanted more. Needed more. Mari hoped Calrex was doing a good job at collecting them, a better job than she seemed to be having anyway. She had barely any and she had taken almost a day to get to that.

As Mari neared the tree she heard the faint sound of buzzing, and rolled her eyes. The stupid bees and wasps couldn't still be there could they? Mari did have plenty, but she was the type of girl who wanted to be fully prepared for absolutely anything. She would have to clear the next few rows of trees before the sap covered tree would be in sight; Mari hoped that they were just higher up somewhere; and that they wouldn't bother her if she tried to collect more of the golden sap.

Mari bit her tongue; trying not to audibly cuss as she approached the tree; if anything - it had attracted more of the poisonous, barbed insects. The entire surface of the tree was just one, big, swarming mess. Writhing and buzzing; crawling atop each other in a living, crawling carpet. 'Yeargh..." Mari shivered; she hated bees, she hated wasps; she hated anything that could sting she had a strong facade - but in reality, she simply hated bees and wasps. Mari edged around the tree, being sure to keep a safe distance. "Nope. Nope. Nope."

Mari quickly shifted away from the warm, the only good bee was a dead one; and they were  very much alive. Mari gave another visible shiver. Clearly unimpressed with the site she just saw. "Rather go sleep with the bones and those freaky ass flowers than see that sh*t again." Mari mumbled in an agitated tone as she neared the exit of the forest.

Mari gave a yawn; next time she went Material hunting she would have to go to a different floor; this floor was beginning to wear her out. Mari was on the edge of the forest now as she emerged from its misty depths she noticed that the sky was lit in a glorious amber colour. Hues of yellow, orange and pink in a splashed medley of warmth. Mari groaned. Twilight was once her favourite time of day, but now - it only bought negative memories and emotions.

Just before Mari went to return to her shop she caught her foot in an old, rotting log. She almost tripped, but Managed to steady herself. As Mari removed her foot from the log she noticed movement from inside it; turns out, her heeled boot managed to quash a few scorpions. Mari gave a small, lop-sided grin as she bent down; pulling out both the squashed and living ones. Placing them in a container. Why didn't she think of that before? Scorpion venom would be an excellent crafting tool!.

Mari dusted off her hands once she placed that too in her satchel. Today wasn't a bad day after all.

Mari left the forest, doing her best to ignore the time of day that it was - disliking it a whole bunch. She kept her blue eyes focused firmly on the ground as she approached the Teleportation Pad. Today's haul hadn't been too bad - she had another few days worth of crafts under her belt; and she hadn't finished yet. She simply wanted to go to a different floor. One where the cursed twilight colours wouldn't affect her.

She stepped on the teleportation pad;

"Floor 10 - outskirts."

And at that - she was whisked away.

Mari stepped out onto the 9th floor - her blue eyes holding a soft green glow as she glanced from right to left. It seemed as though there were no mobs in the vicinity; at least for now. Mari didn't feel like battling so wanted to avoid them best she could. Mari wasn't sure what materials she would attempt to harvest here; as most of the cavern was simply darkness - and rock. If she were lucky perhaps she would come across some mushrooms.

Mari knew the floor pretty well; she had explored nearly every nook and cranny on her first visit here; she knew that the floor wasn't exactly good for material hunting. There would very well be the odd cavern spotted throughout the floor but beyond that Mari felt she was out of luck, Mari came here because it was dark - because she knew no matter what she wouldn't have to face the time of day that it currently was. Now she just had to wander around here a few hours before deciding to do some night time hunting; or return to her store.

Mari gave a yawn, covering her mouth as she veered to the right of the city - hoping to find something...anything. It seemed that she was right out of luck though, she had walked for a solid 10 minutes and encountered nothing but wild mob spawns which she deftly managed to avoid thanks to her night vision. Mari shrugged, pausing as she reached the end of the outer wall of the town. She could choose to double back, or walk around the entirety of the town.

Mari chose to walk around the entirety of the town; for the hell of it.

Mari turned the corner; following the outer wall of the city. Every so often she would hear the shuffle and mumble of an approaching zombie - or the tell -tale rattling of a skeleton. They seemed to be the more common mobs around here. Mari came across a sole zombie that she simply could not avoid - she sighed-- pulling out her blade - and striking it down in one swift motion. Without breaking a sweat.

She didn't bother checking to see if it left any loot - she knew that it would yield absolutely nothing.
