Skylar 0 Posted March 17, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 17, 2015 It was hot! Earlier today he got some advice from an old lady. The same old lady that told him how to get Rutta. Now getting Rutta was easy, getting some what lost in a dessert not as much. Rutta was brown, which was hilarious. The normally white snow leopard was covered in sand, giving the normally white beast the look of a sandy rug. Him and Rutta decided to take the quest with a couple of friends of his. Apparently it would give them a big power boost so why not. It was risky Floor four almost killed Skylar a couple of levels back. No he was here on a more deadly plane. The wind was hot and arid. It picked up the already hot sand and swirled around the dunes. Blowing over him and the rest of the party.
Noctis 0 Posted March 17, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 17, 2015 Floor Five.. The hottest floor I've been on. Not that I've been to any other floors beside the First Floor. The city wasn't much to look at, but I wasn't here for the city, but for a quest. "What is the quest called again? The Follower? No.. The Tra-Traveler!" I exclaimed, as I walk towards the heart of the city. I found myself in precarious spot, but was able to another player by the distance. Due to the sand flying around the air, I wasn't able make out who it was, but proceeded to go up to the player. "Excuse me. Do you know where I can find a cargo?" I asked the player in front of me. [OOC: Erm.. So we just became friends? LOL. Shouldn't we meet each other some how.]
Warnik 0 Posted March 17, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 17, 2015 Warnik groaned as he traveled across the dunes of this hot and arid desert. Frozen tundras and icy caves were things Warnik could withstand, since he loved the cold and was at home in snowy regions but this current weather was something else. It was awful. "Dammit." He mentally cursed the creators of SAO for their attention to detail and realism. The taste of simulated sand in his mouth was horrible, and he was sweating like mad. "Just a quest, he said. It's not too far, he said." Warnik grunted quietly, as he trekked across this barren wasteland, and began making his way into a city. His normally quiet demeanor had disappeared for the time being, due to the unbearable heat and sand that was blowing in his face. "...yeah right." Warnik began hearing voices in the distance, and decided to walk towards them. He thought he heard someone mention cargo. What that could've meant, he didn't know. He called out towards the voices, regardless however. "Skylar? That you?" [OOC: I'm just going to assume that Skylar sent out a message for people to meet him if they happened to be doing "The Traveler" quest.]
Ariel - The Crowned Lion 0 Posted March 17, 2015 #4 Share Posted March 17, 2015 "I hate this place.." Could be heard as a athletic figure with blond hair stepped out of the teleportation gate in Armadillo Village, the 5th floor's main settlement. " Why are we here again? " asked the blond more talking to herself than to her companion in the right. The lion let out a I satisfied growl as Ariel continued talking: " Oh yeah Diane told me about some material called 'sand crystal', she wanted me to get her some.. Why did I accept playing the errand boy part again? Guess I have to since she taught me all I know about tailoring:(" she continued to make her way towards the exit gates of the village while silently complaining. She saw some figures gathered nearby and decided to indulge herself into some friendly conversation with them since she wasn't that eager to go into the desert with only Kimba as her chatting partner. As she approached them she could notice that one of them had a familiar too and before she could say a word, her lion cub was already heading toward the leopard trying to befriend it. She followed up engaging the 3 in conversation: " Hey there, are you guys planning on going into the desert? Mind if we join in? It' would be pretty boring just the two of us. I'm Ariel by he way!" She said with a smile, while her left hand was resting on her black rapier's hilt, more of an unconscious reflex than a precautionary action.
Skylar 0 Posted March 17, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted March 17, 2015 Rutta's low growling is what gave away the players approach. Skylar made out the figure of a boy, or a girl, he really could not tell, and honestly he could care less. Still being polite is always the better thing to do, it makes it less likely to be stabbed in the back. Still the guy must be new seeing as how he did not read the quest paper all the way through. Not that Skylar was much better in that department. He deliberated on how he would answer for a second before he did "Actually we are looking for the caravan. We have a general area but it is not safe to travel the desert alone. I am waiting for some people if you want you can join us. My name is Sky.." He honestly did not get a chance to finish that sentence before someone else said his name. He turned to see someone he never meet but must have received the message about this quest. Judging by the style it was either Warnik or Riksis. The sand was to heavy to make out an exact figure so he guessed "Yep, Warnik glad to see you made it." This guy had to have a weird name Warnik. On top of watching out for bandits, freezing to death in the dessert, or passing out from heat stroke, he had to try and remember this guys name. Judging by their looks he hope they could survive. He would hate to be responsible for two innocents deaths. Skylar wished one strong player would accompany them on their quest. "Hey there, are you guys planning on going into the desert? Mind if we join in? It' would be pretty boring just the two of us. I'm Ariel by he way!" Well tickle him pink his prayers got answered fast. He did not even have to turn around to know what she or her partner looked like. An athletic blond with a killer physique and a white lion. For the most part this was Rutta's first time meeting another familiar. The dirty snow leopard walked up to the lion for a sniff. So Skylar turned around to talk too the human of the duo. "Hey Ariel! Long time no see, unless you do not recognize your old friend Skylar." He was joking he knew Ariel would not forget him. ((OOC: You can assume I sent a message. So I can know I name but not a face." Azide 0 Posted March 17, 2015 #6 Share Posted March 17, 2015 "Looks like this place is filling up fast," remarked a certain brown-haired player. He slid down from his place atop one of the several dunes which happened to group of aspiring traveler. His eyes drifted between the players that'd assembled themselves amidst the swirling sands and harsh winds of the desert. Of the four other players present, only one possessed a face with which he was familiar. Azide raised a hand to shield his face from the battering winds as he approached quartet. He wasn't particularly interested in getting any extra salt today; between the taste and the sodium, he was interested in neither. "To whichever one of you happens to be Skylar- 'friend' is just a tad premature. But for the time being, I'll be glad to serve as your ally." His hand dropped and fell back to a more natural position as the winds died down- at least for the moment. "But..." he said, raising a finger. He intoned the word in such a way that naturally invoked the phrase 'that's not all!' A grin flashed across his face in a manner that reflected all of the practice that had gone into such a gesture. "If we all get along today, and put in some good work, then that title just might be justified."
Warnik 0 Posted March 17, 2015 #7 Share Posted March 17, 2015 "Yeah, Skylar. Though, just barely." he said in response to the player that was speaking to him. Warnik coughed up some sand that had gathered in his mouth as a few other players came into focus and introduced themselves to each other. He didn't like exchanging pleasantries with anyone, and preferred to keep things at a certain distance. The fact that this was such a huge group of people had him irked as well. Warnik hoped that this wouldn't take too long, and that they'd get out of this unbearable heat, and social situation soon. When the others were done with their introductions, Warnik tried to avoid talking to any of the other players. Skylar mentioned his name, so he hoped he wouldn't have to clarify and introduce himself to the other players. He wasn't trying to be rude, in fact he was trying to be the exact opposite, by not speaking unless spoken too. These players looked a lot stronger than he did, so they probably deserved his respect. The blond girl Ariel, and the brown haired Azide especially. He had to admit that he was glad that there'd be a chance of some stronger players escorting them. "This crazy trip that Skylar had planned seems less life threatening now." Warnik noted mentally, nodding to no one in particular. The winds of the desert had gotten tons of sand in his shaggy black hair, so Warnik decided to keep quiet as he dusted himself off. He waited patiently for the others to get their bearings and plan their approach to this quest.
Noctis 0 Posted March 17, 2015 #8 Share Posted March 17, 2015 --THE TRAVELER-- A mysterious NPC wearing a thick cloak that wraps around her entire body, including her face, approaches me and explains that she has precious cargo in the depths of the desert, hidden beneath the sand. She looks a bit ill, and I told her to go rest. There's a time limit on finding these loots, which means I have two days to recover the cargo. It's up to me to find it. --( )OBJECTIVES( )-- <> Find the Cargo 0/1. It's amazing how fast the grouped have grown, and I didn't mind that this group is large. "Well then. Now everyone is here, why don't I introduce myself? I go by the name of Noctis." I greeted, as flash a smile to the group of travelers. Everything is set in place, and everyone had a goal to achieve. "Well looks like you guys are looking for what I'm looking for, and it is dangerous for me to travel alone. So.. what's the plan?" I asked the group, as the sandstorm starts to pick up. I quickly cover my eyes to avoid any sand getting into my eyes, and slowly back up a bit. As the sandstorm dies out, I took a seat on the sandy cobblestone floor, awaiting for the group to respond. As I wait, I swipe down my HUD to see what I need to upgrade, as I progress. "Hm.. I need to craft myself some armor, or find myself a tailor." I said to myself in a soft tone. I look up ever so often to see if the players are ready, but continue to look through my HUD. I equip Blade of Time, as I stood up. I open my inventory once more to update a journal. Noctis 0 Posted March 20, 2015 #9 Share Posted March 20, 2015 [OOC: Due to inactivity and quest time limit, I'll be RPing my way out of this.] I started to worry about one thing, the fact that I might die here. At my level, Floor Five is extremely dangerous, so I stepped back a few, and looked over at the group of travelers. "Y-you know what? I'm just going to head back to Starter City.. I'm not ready for this." I said, as I head over to the teleport pad. "Ahem. Floor One, Starter City. TELEPORT!" I said, as I look back at the group of travelers. I wave back at them before starting to fade away in and the many data shot up into the skies. »Noctis has left the RP«
Skylar 0 Posted March 22, 2015 Author #10 Share Posted March 22, 2015 "Well that is one down." Skylar waved at the deserter, no need to have him killed. "So Are the rest of you ready? If you are I suggest you follow me so we can get this show started." Skylar made his way into the dry sandy desert no really looking behind to see if anyone was following. He had Rutta and that was all he needed. He believed Ariel and Kimba would come along too. As far as the rest he they seemed like more maybe's then anything. Still it would not bother him if they chose to save their skin. This desert has killed before and would not be afraid of doing it again. (ID:13201 CD:4) ((OOC: Here on out we start. If you roll a 1 on craft die drop that health by one.)
