[PP-F1] Becoming a Tailor | COMPLETED ((Earning a Living accompanied with Rusty))

Walking around the square of Starting City, he looked at all the different stands, shops, and even the ocassional performer that could be found around the corner. Mainly the numerous stands that randomly dotted the area. They were mostly NPCs selling goods, like foods and other items. He didn't see a lot of fish though, but Axios reasoned that there was something a different reason for it. I don't think I've heard of a lot of water in any of the cleared floors yet...

Walking around, he saw that the shops mostly consisted of blacksmiths. Looking inside, he saw assortments of clocks on the walls and at the back a forge. However, he couldn't see that as what he wanted to do, or get. Axios was a man of supply and demand. If he couldn't meet the supply, there would be no use of meeting the demand; knowing the demand, he could figure out what he could supply them with.

Walking around, he talked to some of the owners of the stands. Some, were obviously NPCs, just by talking to them they had a pattern. Some, he couldn't tell. That's when something caught his eye. A stand full of clothes, both for fanciness and utility work. He just couldn't resist going and looking at the magnificence of the work. Going up to the stand, almost running towards it, he asked the woman running the shop, "These are really beautiful." Looking up at the woman, she was smiling right at him and Axios started, "I'm terribly sorry... I don't think I could afford these... No... I'm positive I couldn't afford these. I have nothing as of right now." However, she was still smiling. "I can't repay you in any way. I have no job, no nothing." As Axios was beginning to wonder whether or not this was a broken NPC or a really stupid player, a notification popped up.

"Well, it would be a shame if I won't be able to pass on my teachings to someone wouldn't it?", the NPC said. "My name is Fatnadur." After further inspection the notification described a quest that would allow Axios to become a tailor. After pushing the accept button, Fatnadur said, "Firstly, don't make fun of my name. Respect it as you would respect me and my clothing. Secondly, you'll need some of the following things. 3 cotton, 2 spiderweb, and 5 boar hide.", Fatnadur started saying with Axios cringing at the word spider.

After thanking Fatnadur for the help, Axios realized that he would need help. He was extremely weak and wouldn't be able to do it by himself. He decided that the easiest place to get help would be the frequently visited taverns/inns. That's it, I'll just make a poster requesting for help! After getting sidetracked probably every other hour, Axios finally did it. A poster was up in a notification board on every inn and tavern saying the following:

Help wanted.

Material gathering/hunting.

Find and/or message a player named Axios (Deminence) if you accept.

Reward: First craft created in shop for the shop.

Rusty was surprised to find a notification for a help request  that the inn he was staying in for the night. Looking at the reward, he pondered taking it a few seconds. "If I help gather materials, my level might just go up and since its a quest, I'll get an experience point. On top of that, I get a free tailored item to wear. Sounds alright. " He pressed accept and soon found himself looking for the player. Once he managed to find the player, he yelled out to him and started walking, as if to let the assistance seeker to start following. "So what do we have to find?"

Axios was wandering around per usual when a player came up to him and then asked him what they needed to find. Axios started wondering about what had just happened when he remembered about his notice. "Oh! You're here about that my notice right? Ok then, we need 5 boar hides, 2 spiderweb fragments, and 3 pieces of cotton", Axios informed the player. "Who are you?", Axios asked while walking alongside with him.

"We could probably get the boar hides by entering the fields right away." Rusty mumbled after listening to the items he had to get. He didn't really care about the quest at hand however, the only reason he bothered helping was the rewards. When asked for his name, Rusty answered by saying "Its Gl- I m-mean Rusty." He had forgotten that in here, nobody knew him and nobody avoided him, so he almost had given his real name out. "We should probably get started right away." Rusty spat out to cover up the mistake he made.

"My name is Axios Deminence", Axios said. "Of course it is... You might've seen it on the form and that's how you found me, huh? Sorry...", Axios apologized. Axios swiped his hand down in a fluid action to open up the menu, and started searching for the place to send requests for since he's never sent one. He's usually the one accepting them... After a while, he found the request system and sent Rusty both a party and friend request.

"If you don't mind of course...", Axios started. "Now, let's go and try to tackle some boars! Metaphorically... I don't want to get skewered... Now, let's go and hopefully not die while gathering the materials!"

((You want to run the mobs or me? They'll need to do 1 DMG, if I recall correctly, for boars and need 5 HP for the materials and any other loot to drop.))

(OOC: Depends on how many boars you want to fight, although I prefer using the mob dice and have them attack like this, but one by one. Also sorry for delaying this, I had forgotten about this thread as I was busy with another.)

 

Rusty quickly accepted both of requests, and began to run in a light sprint towards the field. "If you really want to hurry this up, you should probably start running unless you need to do something before we go. I'm ready, I have my sword equipped but I'm not sure if you want to do anything right now." said Rusty. He stood there looking at the player, waiting for an answer if once was going to be given.

((So 2v1's against boars? If not, tell me. Also, I understand.))

After unsheathing his dagger at the right side of his hip, Axios then replied to Rusty saying, "Let's go then. And hope we don't get killed."

After traveling for a bit on a main road, Axios spotted a lone boar on top of a small hill. "I'll go get it over here", Axios informed Rusty but soon enough the boar spotted him. Almost the exact moment Axios stepped off of the path, the boar started charging straight towards him and perfectly landing a hit on him. Not being prepared this early on, Axios could do nothing but brace for impact which was inevitable. On contact, the boar immediately sent Axios flying into the air and caused him to land straight on his head. Where Axios landed, all you could here were moans of pain and the following, "You go ahead..."

Rusty sprinted towards the feeble boar, already fed up with the circumstances he was in. Gripping his sword tightly, he felt the sudden urge to attack. The boar had already put up a damaging attack against the low-leveled player and could do the same to Rusty of he wasn't careful. Rusty thought that his choice of weapon was right in that he could be quick and agile, while still hitting and decently doing some deal of damage. This helped as Rusty somersaulted over the boar, and jabbed at it multiple times before returning to Axios' side. He had done enough to earn a critical, his fellow player need to land just one hit to end it.

"I'm ok... I just wasn't prepared", Axios said when he saw Rusty sitting next to him. Getting up, Axios took out his knife once more. While getting his knife, he saw virtual cuts all over his body; half-expecting that there should have been a lot more visible damage. "Hah...", Axios chuckled to himself. The boar was going to head towards Rusty now ((I'm planning to apply some use of the hate system if you don't mind. Tell me if you don't)) after that attack. It was Axios' turn to do the damage. Looking down at his knife he muttered, "Knife... Don't fail me now...", before switching it to a forehand position and running at the boar. The boar couldn't do much, except watch, as Axios slid under the boar and did a quick jab straight into its underside.

Despite his fancy antics, he was barely able to pierce the board due to the lack of room. But it was enough. A notification popped up revealing dropped items for Axios. One boar hide and also 25 Col. "Yes!", Axios yelled out before remembering about Rusty. "We got 1 boar hide and also 25 Col. We could split it if you want, but next time you could engage the boar", Axios informed Rusty.

"If all goes well, we should be able to kill more 4 boars before moving on to get spider web. Although, we probably should face them 2 on 1 since you have low health." Motioning to the a lone boar, Rusty sped towards it, with a firm grip on his weapon and a neutral expression in his face. Running past it, he had managed to swing at the boar before realizing that he was aiming in the complete opposite direction. When he had turned around, the boar impaled him its horn before shaking him off and leaving Rusty while he groaned in pain.

(I don't mind the hate system, and also your max HP should increase while you're in the thread if you level up because of it, but your health doesn't regenerate. You should stay the same health.)

"You alright?", Axios calls out to Rusty who was doubling over and groaning in pain. A few feet away from Rusty, Axios saw the boar. I don't think I'll be able to kill it in one hit... But if I can distract it... "Don't worry, we'll deal with this one soon enough!", Axios told Rusty before charging the boar. Piercing its back, Axios wasn't able to get a good, deep cut on the boar due to his current forehand position. Quickly jumping backwards, he went to help Rusty up. "You ok?"

"Yep thanks.." Getting right back up, Rusty firmly clasped his trusty sword. He digged his shoes into the dirt to conform into a firm stance before dashing towards the swine. Jumping at it, Rusty jabbed his rapier at the boar's innards before leaping back to avoid attack. He had gotten another critical, although this success was short-lived as the tusked pig attacked again, pushing him backwards and leaving a red line across Rusty's thigh. "Its distracted, go for it Axois." He shouted as to not waste the moment.

Here goes nothing... Axios leaped towards the boar, trying to attempt to at least hit it once. However, he leaped too far ahead of the boar landing behind him and stumbling forward a bit onto the base of the hill. "Great... Just my luck...", Axios muttered to himself. "I can't do anything today..." Looking back, he saw Rusty at a condition a bit better than him but he realized that the two wouldn't be able to go much longer if they continued these battles. It's all because of me... "We should take a break after this to recover, just in case", Axios yelled out to Rusty hoping he would accept. Accuracy, speed, and probably more damage is what I need... That would probably be the best for me being a knife user...

Rusty refused to stop fighting, wanting to finish off the boar if Axios wasn't going to. "I'm going to finish this pig off before we do that. I have this." Rusty began to swing his sword, trying to finish the swine off, but his movements were like somebody using a two handed sword. He swung too earlier one of his attempts, allowing the boar to ram in the stomach whichhe same direction of the player he was with. Reeling in from the pain of the puncture wound, Rusty doubled over on the ground. This pain was unbearable, the horns piercing where he already been punctured.

"Go and take a break for a while Rusty I'll try and keep him busy", Axios tried to assure Rusty. I'm almost certain now that I won't be able to hit him, but if I can distract him long enough for Rusty to recuperate... That's all we'll need. Once again, Axios decided to attack; only this time was he lowering his stance. Still in the forehand position, he focused on the boar. "Rusty, I don't think it'll be able to kill us both, but our best chance of survival is you. If you die we both die, if I die you have a chance at survival. Just, rest for a while before anything else", Axios told Rusty before leaping off once again. This time, barely missing the boar, almost grazing the skin and tufts of fur. S**t... Please let it be enough to provoke it... I can't let someone die because of me... "Rusty, if it starts to try and attack you, strike first. If it attacks me, it's your decision."

"Its a friggin boar, not gonna let it stop me from killing the damn thin" Rusty shouted until he was interrw by the sudden charge by the boar. The boar swiped him down to the side before lifting its front legs in a victorious squeal. "Goddamit, you stupid piece of garbage, let me finish talking first!" Rusty got up, tired of this boar repeatedly beating them down, and swung his sword fiercely at the pig, killing it. From the remains appeared one boar hide and 25 pieces of Col. Rusty promptly picked it up before collapsing on the floor.

"RUSTY!!!", Axios yelled out while sprinting towards his friend on the ground. Rusty, almost looked lifeless, a pale look on his face. However, Axios didn't need to see his face to know that he's almost dead, mainly because of the health bar in his UI due to their party mechanics and on his user. Axios tried to turn Rusty over, pushing with all of his might trying to get a better look at his face. "Are you okay Rusty? At the very least talk or groan...", Axios pleaded Rusty. I won't be able to defend the two of us if any boars or PKers come by... "Come on Rusty, upsy-daisy", Axios muttered to himself while trying to lift up Rusty. How much does this guy weigh? Axios, with some time, was able to get Rusty onto the top of a hill. "Don't worry, we'll be able to see any boars from here, and hopefully they can't scale this hill that easy..."

Getting up, Rusty looked around, his vision blurry. He was mad at himself for not getting anything to heal himself with, but was too weak to hold up that anger. Instead his mind went blank. Looking at the scenery around him, he got up and straightened himself. "We need to go back to the town, or else we'll die out here." He mumbled before shuffling towards the town. Rusty didn't want to die at the hands of boars, so he started to walk faster.

"I'd rather we not move at all for a while", Axios tried to convince... What was his name again??? "I mean, you're pretty messed up... You almost died. If you don't mind me asking... What's your name again?", Axios asked the man starting to walk away. "Also, if we keep on going back to Starting City, we may run into a boar. It'll be better just to stay for a while so you can regain your strength.

"It's no use to either of us if you die off! You'll die and it'll be on my conscience!", Axios yelled out still sitting on the hill. I'll have to go with him won't I? "Hey!", Axios continued, "At least let me come with you. At least then if we meet a boar I can help you out. Also there's a few PKers that roam around this floor so they can easily kill people, wouldn't want that happening would we?."

"I'm f-fine, I just need activate my healing and heal already." With no luck, Rusty remained at the same amount of health. Stopping so that Axois wouldn't scream anymore, he sat down and looked at Starter City. It was little less than half a mile away. "We need to go back to Starter City, we really do." Rusty felt better than earlier, when the pain was unbearable.
