[SP-F9] The Iron Guardian (Quest) Complete

Recommended Posts

As Rebekah continued to fight, she could start to feel the effects of the bleed effect that the monster was giving her. She still could not tell if every attack was a critical, but she knew that the longer she fight, the more dangerous those effects would become. Perhaps she was a bit overworried about the debuffs, but these damages affect her over a time period, and not right away. To her, those are the most dangerous type of side effects, as she could not know the true effects until after everything was over.

As she struck the guardian once again, she could not help but notice that she is barely above 50% of her health points, while the guardian just fell below half. That gave her a bit more optimism, but she knew she cannot relax now.

It had been a struggle for her to keep up with the enemy in the heat, but luckily for her, the iron guardian did not move fast. It was the type of thing that had allowed her to keep up with the pace of the battle, as it was going to drag out. Rebekah was starting to feel the effects of exhaustion and knew that she needed to rest up a bit after the battle before making the long trip back to the broker. That was if she were to be victorious today, in the face of the battle. She knew that she was still in danger, as there is nowhere that she could be safe, unless she was recovering inside the town.

As she was struck by the Guadian, she realized that she was taking bleed damage once again. As she watch her health points slowly drain away, she knew that she had to burn an additional potion in the near future. This battle was going to be tough for her to survive, that was for sure.

Rebekah uses 1 of her 6 healing potions II (+10 HP).

Well, Azide was going to kill her when he finds out she spent one of his healing potions but she knew that it was necessary to survive. She will just have to make sure to pay up when he returns, so she knew that it would not be a problem. Or she could think of it as payment in exchange for him ditching her on a important quest such as this one. Where was he, as he would have made the entire quest a lot easier.

This time, Rebekah made sure that the guardian would not land a critical strike as she was drinking the potion, as she made sure to dodge the attack first before using the pot.

After drinking the potion, Rebekah felt a lot more at ease for the rest of this battle. She managed to heal herself back to about half her hit points which was good because this gave her enough flexibility for the rest of the fight. She wished that it would be the last time she had to heal in battle, as she had to do it quick before she could be attacked. Now she was back in the fight, and she had been wondering for the longest time if the attack pattern would alter, but for now the guardian did not change, so she continued to easily dodge the attacks with ease, and land a counter attack.

Rebekah continued to fight, as she knew the end was near. With the boss dropping below one third of its health points, it was important for her to continue to fight as hard as she could in the remainder of the battle. Sometimes her style of fighting leaves a lot to be desired. She does not feel like a front line player, but she knew that she was one of those that was relied upon to take part in the boss raids. As she was one of the stronger active players, and she put herself somewhere within the top 10. If Rebekah was to fail today, one would wonder when would another person try this again. Rebekah put in a lot of effort to land a critical, as she knew that it would make the battle a lot easier.

As Rebekah continued to raise her weapon in a battle position, and continually strike the guardian, she finally felt that her combat abilities are good enough. For much of the first half of this battle, doubt creep into her mind, and that made her more reserved than usual in battle. The worst thing that Rebekah could possibly do was to self doubt herself, which made her actions a lot slower to execute. Rebekah still relied on speed and accuracy with her rapier, but the slightly hesitation was enough to be the difference in landing a narrowly missed attack or dodging one. In the grand scheme of the battle, it would have mattered barely, but still enough.

Lately, she been chaining a lot more attacks and a lot more crits.

Finally, Rebekah could see that the end was near, and she needed just a few more hits to finally end this battle. Rebekah had also timed this perfectly, as the son is also about to raise in the morning in a few minutes. Both the guardian and the girl had been fighting throughout the night, and she knew that it was finally going to be over. This was the toughest solo battle that she had ever faced, but Rebekah needed to get those thoughts out. She was starting to think ahead too much for her own good, as she tripped up on the terrain.

That was stupid! Rebekah managed to trip in the middle of battle allowing the boss to easily strike her without any problems. She knew that it should not have happened but it did. However, now was not the time to analyze what she had been doing to date, but rather it was time to continue fighting the boss. There was a limit to how much time she could think between each strike, but a battle should be happening simultaneously, as any tiny advantage is magnified. She needed combat to become second nature, and that was what had separated her from the Mari's and herself. It was that level of precision that was required.

As she struck the guardian, she was hit with the bleed effect once again, thus losing significant health points. But the good news is that the guardian required one more hit left to finally finish the battle.

The Guardians health points have dropped in the red, as Rebekah braced herself for any sudden change in his health points. She knew that this tough battle would finally come to a close, or at least she was rather hopeful of that fact. It took a long time for her to fight this, and time was something that she was running out of. Rebekah was fatigued, and wanted to return back to the inn to rest up as soon as possible, before anything else could happen to her.

It had to go all out before it died, but the guardian had nothing left in the tank after that long tiring battle. As it died, Rebekah made sure to avoid taking extra damage, as she needed to make the long journey back towards the NPC who gave her the quest.

Rebekah burns a second healing potion (+5 HP)

Now that the battle ended, the sun finally rose in the background. As she took a walk around the place, she knew that she had to make it back towards the inn as soon as possible. Rebekah had to be wary of any player killers, or anyone seeing her this low in health points, as they could take advantage of this situation. That was something that she did not want, and knew right away that she had to disappear for a while. She had avoid contact with everyone for 3 days already, and would continue. She knew of many people who took an extended leave hiding themselfes, and she made sure to do the same before starting the quest. It was a long and difficult quest, but she was not done just yet.

Rebekah burns her third and final healing pot I (+5 HP)

When she got back to the inn, she struggled on to the bed and collapse, as she was drained of energy. It had been such a long time since she went all out in such a tiring solo battle, and she knew that she had two days journey to return the special item drop to the broker far far away. Meanwhile, she was sure not to be spitted by anyone in any of these places since they can take advantage of a girl with barely a third of her health struggling to stay awake. It was a massive endevour for her, but one that she was going to be fine eventually. A little rest was all she needed anyways, it was not if there was more important things to do.

Rebekah burns a health potion II (+10 hp)

As she woke up, Rebekah burns another health crystal, ensuring her health bar is above fifty percent before she makes that long gruelling trip back towards the broker. As she left this small and peaceful village, she was looking for materials with her eyes as well. After all, she might as well pick something up on her way if she sees something that she needs. Besides that way she can explain her absence to everyone who asked her why she had disappeared for a very long time. This was the thing that she wanted to avoid the most, since she wanted to quickly finish off this quest as soon as possible.

She continued to walk this long path back. After walking for most of the day she managed to reach the small village that she had stayed for a while. As she arrived the first thing she could think about was food. It had been a long time since she had something fancy to eat, and she knew that she was going to have to reward herself after the end of this quest when she would arrive back to her shop on floor 4. As she slept for the night in the mini inn in this village, she knew that there was a lot of things she needed to do. She had been away from civilization essentially for about 5-6 days which meant a lot could have changed since. As she open her inbox, she scanned through the most important messages that she had been sent, there was nothing that had happen since she was gone.

She knew that she was going to have to leave now if she was to make it back to the old broker to return the item drop to finish the quest. However, along the way was one more tedious long day of walking up ahead for the blonde girl. She had been accustomed to walking everywhere without using a teleportation crystal ever in her entire time, but she disliked it a lot. She thought maybe someday they do not have to walk everywhere but that would be quite rare. As she continued along this path on this humid nineth floor, she could only think about what would she do afterwards. There was nothing worse for her than being inactive, as she liked to be doing something. Perhaps she would finally put her final skill into mastering her rapier, or learn a new skill. There was a lot to think about which kept her mind away from counting every step that she was taking along this path. Luckily she was still travelling only during the night time when it was much more bearable to be outside.

When she finally arrived at the village with the old broker, she handed him the item, expecting the quest to be over. However, he drew out his sword and yelled, "Foolish player, do you think I will fall for this trick? You want to steal the real item from me." The old broker attacked the blonde girl who was not expecting the attack, but as a rapier user, she was quick to react. Rebekah drew out her rapier and blocked the attack in one motion, as she had learned some defensive techniques since it was dangerous for girls such as herself to be alone. It was a move that had gotten her out of sticky situations in the past.

Rebekah let out a sigh, another battle before she could leave. What is with these quests, she wondered, as sheade her way towards the old broker after blocking his attack. She just wanted to end it right away, and deal as much damage as possible. It was not always going to happen this way, but the earlier she ended it, the better it would be for her. She managed to strike the old broker for a clean hit, and told herself several more hits to go.

The old broker smirked as he was struck. It had a few things up his sleeve, such as paralyze if it could land a critical strike on this gurl who was standing right in front of him. He was sure this was a trap for the girl to obtain the precious item drop once again. There was a lot to think about, as it was looking for a weakness that the girl had, but she was not showing anything. He did not attack, but healed up a third of the health that the girl had struck him for.

There was one thing that Rebekah had hated more than anything, and that was natural healing in the middle of battle. It was the only thing that had annoyed her, since one would assume the battle would almost be over, but they take forever to die. The broker was one of those so called people that she hated because of that. She saw him hesitate, and launched herself to attack him, but he must have been ready for that as the broker stuck out its foot, and moved out of the way. Rebekah tripped up over his leg and fell face first onto the floor, and wasted her opportunity to attack.

The broker had a choice here, whether to continue healing or attack the girl. However, it does not need to make a choice when it can do both at the same time. It began to chant, "Foolish girl, it is time for you to die." As it was chanting, it took his staff and attempted to attack her. She was not expecting the staff and was knocked backwards from that powerful attack. But that attack did not scratch the girl's armour, as she was just as strong without it.

As the staff had knocked her backwards. rebekah thought about her next few moves, and what she can do going forward for the rest of this battle. She knew that she had only landed one attack so far, but he can heal himself up. She needed another way to win, something to make her stronger, but at this moment, she needed an idea. The staff attack was something that she had to be careful about, as it gave him extra range to attack, which she knew she had to stay out of it. With her quick speed, she charged and knocked the staff out of his hand as she attacked.
