[PP-F1] The Runaway Prince (Calrex) (Completed)

"Not necessarily, unless you have any suggestions." Leon continues to look around the shops. "I read so many books about blacksmiths and I get to see one with my own eyes. This is just too good to be true!" Leon stopped at once particular shop and saw a blacksmith starting to make a new weapon and went over to watch.

"I hope he doesn't mind me watching him." Leon said to himself. Then the blacksmith looked and smiled at Leon, and he gave one back. Then Leon looked at what he was making an asked him, "Would that be a one-handed sword you're making?"

"You're right kid! How'd you know?"

Leon pointed in the direction of where the blacksmith was pouring the melted ore into. Then both Leon and the blacksmith laughed for a moment. Then he looked at Calrex and said to him. "Aren't you in a guild Calrex?"

As Calrex watched Leon watch the blacksmith work attentively he couldn't help but have a small smile come to his face, "He must really take a liking to blacksmithing. If he does decide to go ahead and try opening a shop I should take him over to Oikawa or Meo once she opens her shop. I'm sure he could learn a lot from them."

 

As he watched from the doorway he suddenly saw Leon turn and ask him if he was in a guild. Calrex gave a nod as he pointed up to his status, "Yes I am. My and bunch of food friends decided to form a guild called Absolute Pin. If you knew about the Azure Brigade, they disappeared recently. We decided to form it to help fill in the gap in power that they had left behind."

"Absolute Pin...Who came up with the name?" Leon asked Calrex. Then we Leon saw all that he wanted to see, he waved at the blacksmith and said to him, "See you later mister!"

"See ya later kid!"

Then Leon tried to think of somewhere else to go, but couldn't come up with anything. So Leon pulled on Calrex's jacket and asked him, "Hey Calrex, do you *yawn* know any more interesting *yawn* places to go to?"

As Leon finished his business in the blacksmith shop Calrex gave a nod, "Well, the leader of the guild and a friend of mine, Ariel, was the one who came up with it. I believe she said it was based off of a chess definition from what I can remember."

 

As he watched Leon yawn and ask for his suggestion of where to head next Calrex crossed his arms for a second to think, "Hmm...oh, we can stop by this cafe I know of. A couple of my friends really enjoy the desserts there, so it might help with your exhaustion you're feeling as well."

 

With that he took Leon in the direction of the Starlight Cafe. As they arrived he held the door open and upon entering got them a small table as they sat down. When the waiter came Calrex decided to order his usual, an iced mocha.

"Based off chess pieces huh? That sounds really interesting. So every piece will play an important part, even the pawn. So with the right guidance, a pawn can basically become almost any piece that they want to, right."

Then Calrex mention a cafe that they can go to. "Sure. That sounds fine by me." So Leon and Calrex headed into the Starlight Cafe and took a seat. "This seems like a really nice place." Leon said to himself. Then as they sat down, Leon looked at the menu, but he simply couldn't figure out what he wanted to order. The waitress came over and took our orders. Calrex had ordered an iced mocha, and Leon still couldn't decide. "Psst...Calrex. May you order for me. As long as it isn't ice cream please."

"Actually yes, you pretty much hit the nail on the head. We're trying to look for the best, but at the same time we're also trying to help mold some of the newer players into being better fighters and shop owners."

 

As he watched Leon take a quick look at the menu, then request for him to order for him Calrex gave it a quick thought, "Hm..."

 

"What would be small enough that he could finish it, yet not ice cream..."

 

Thinking about it for a bit he decided to get Leon a small order of chocolate waffles with whipped cream on top, "Hopefully that's alright. If not let me know, we can have it taken as an item for later and order something else."

"That seeme pretty interesting. I wonder if I can become a great shop owner."

Then Calrex ordered Leon some chocolate waffles and asked him if that was ok. "It's alright Calrex, I'll have that." "I never had chocolate waffles before. I wonder how it'll taste." Then as Calrex and Leon waited for their orders, Leon asked Calrex a question. "So...what does it take to become a member?"

"To become a member of my guild? Well..."

 

As Calrex was about to speak the waiter returned with Calrex's drink and Leon's good, gently setting both down in front of the two. Calrex gave a thankful nod before continuing, "Right now it's pretty simple, you go over to the guild roster and express your interest. Usually then the council will have to review you to see if you would be a good fit, then it's taken from there."

 

He took a quick sip of his iced mocha, feeling the cooling coffee and chocolate mixed liquid pass over his tongue then down his throat, "However, I would recommend if you are interested in the guild that you actually try and get stronger first. Before you think about guilds you need to think about yourself as a player first."

 

"Hm...let me see if I can put it this way..."

 

"Back when I was first starting out I was fairly inept at the combat system, in fact I didn't land a single hit in my first fight. Luckily I had a couple of friends that watched my back at that time. Back then the only people I knew were the ones i had become acquainted with, but when I hit the tenth level all of a sudden some of the more exclusive guilds became interested in me. So...I would suggest if you were interested in guilds that you get a little bit stronger first."

 

As he finished his sentence he looked at Leon's status bar, a friendly smile coming onto his face, "However, it looks like you're not exactly far off from getting there."

Leon thanked the waitress and began to eat his food as Calrex explain what was required to become a member of his guild. "That sounds simple enough.

"This waffle isn't that bad!" Leon said as he took a couple more bites into his chocolate waffle.

Then Calrex told Leon that he should get stronger before he tries to join a guild. "I know that Calrex! I'm not going to join a guild right away. I'm going to wait till I know that I'm ready."

Then Calrex told Leon how he started out. "Umm Calrex...I think everyone starts off like that when they do something new!" Then Leon finished his waffles and started to yawn some more. "*yawn* I hate to say this, but I think I *yawn* want to go back to the *yawn* orphanage now. I'll handle their wrath again when I get there."

As Leon finished his waffles Calrex gave a friendly smile, nodding, "Sorry, I keep forgetting you're smarter than your age. Of course take your time. I wouldn't want you rushing into something and then regretting it later."

 

When the boy stated that he was feeling tired and should probably be getting back to the orphanage he gave a nod, "Yeah, it's looking to be that time of day. Here I'll walk you back. I don't know how much I can do in terms of their 'wrath', but I'll try and explain so hopefully they'll let you off this time."

 

With that he paid for the order and escorted Leon out of the Starlight Cafe, "In any case feel free to think about what I told you, and give it some good thought. I'll add you to my friends list for now, so if you come to your decision you can easily get in contact with me."

"It's alright Calrex. I know that Calrex." Leon told Calrex as they made their way outside the Starlight Cafe. Then Calrex said he wasn't sure what to do when he meets the orphanage workers.

"It's alright Calrex, it's not my first time taking a 'trip' so I know exactly what they'll say. All they will say is where I was, am I alright, did I leave town, etc."

Then Calrex told Leon to think about what they have talked about. "Alright, I'll think about it and let you know when I come up with a decision. Also the orphanage isn't that much farther from here."

"Alright, if you're sure you'll be alright from here then we'll part ways here."

 

As Leon explained that his destination wasn't far from here Calrex gave a nod, trusting the the boy would get back on his own. He wasn't foolish enough to go into the fields, and minus the occasional rebelliousness he seemed to show Leon seemed to have a fairly good head on his shoulder. 

 

"Sure thing, and like I said take your time on it. I don't think we're going to be getting out of here anytime really soon, so there's some time. I'll be heading this way, so take care Leon."

 

With that Calrex gave a friendly parting wave as he headed towards the teleportation plaza of the settlement, "I think I'll go pay Teayre a visit. She might be at her shop around now."

"I'll be alright from here Calrex." Leon said to Calrex as they parted ways for now. He looked at Calrex as they both waved to each other before they went their separate ways. Leon rubbed his blue hair as he walked towards the orphanage. "Guess I go to bed early tonight. Haha, that should suprise them! Then I'll decide what I should do tomorrow."
