That was the only good thing about this frozen floor, Reu thought to himself, that it came with the best hot chocolate in this game. *sighing* Reu started making his way out of Snowfrost Town. He had gotten info from the information brokers that their was a hidden floor boss on this level, a snow monster, who would attack after he farmed enough Ice Elementals. Even better, he would be able to farm them one by one at the distance they were spread out. So slowly, Reu slid his way down the hill-side and readied his sword. His blade is one of fearsome strength, having been custom forged by a player-blacksmith. Coming up on the first Ice Elemental, Reu felt it was time to get to work... Driving forward with his blade, Reu over-extended himself. Slipping on the ice, landing at the Ice Elemental's feet, Reu looked up and stared up at the viscious claws of the monster as they drove straight into him. Still, being brave of heart, Reu pushed forward, attempting to strike again, but again Reu slipped on the ice. This time, as the Ice Elemental went in for it's strike, Reu quickly rolled out of the way. As his battle healing skill kicked in, Reu again hopped up, ready to find another opportunity to launch an attack. Reu could feel his blade chink against the arm and simply bounce off. Suddenly, the Ice Elemental kicked Reu straight in the chest, sending him backwards and knocking the wind out of him. Raising his sword above him, and bringing it down intensely, Reu again missed his mark. The Ice Elemental swiped a large frosted paw across Reu's face, dealing a critical strike. Screaming in pain, the ice Elemental suddenly trapped Reu's blade in ice. Startled, Reu failed to see the icy paw which again struck him, this time in the rib-cage. As he did so, his blade ripped free of the icy trap, and Reu fell stumbling back. This battle was clearly not going his way. Once again the Ice Monster leered down at him. This time, it breathed some sort of area of effect Ice Attack which again was a critical hit. Reu looked down and could see that he was frozen up to his waist. His health was low too, this was not good. Not good at all. As he escaped, Reu did a front-roll, and came out with a slash attack which scored a critical of his own. Feeling more confident, Reu easily dodged the return strike from the Ice Elemental as-well. Digging his steel into the beast, it ripped back in pain. It then launched a futile attack, which Reu easily dodged. Suddenly, Reu's battle healing ability kicked in and Reu's health bar slowly ticked up a point as-well. He had to admit, he was taken by surprise by the monsters strength, but now he was in control and he felt ready best this creature. He attacked, and then easily dodged the return strike. Now that he had it's attack patterns down, Reu was confident he was going to finish this creature. Once again he was staring up at the monster as it drove forward, attacking him from his precarious position. This time however, Reu rolled out of the way. The only benefit of this exchange was another point of Reu's health went up from the battle healing ability. Suddenly his menu popped up with a Rare Item Notification! Reu was elated, unable to believe his luck. Inside was a Frozen Cheesecake! The item had 2 Vitamin Enhancements too. No doubt it would be extremely useful later on. Looking ahead he could see the icy sides of the valley, still populated by Ice Elementals. Looking up at his health bar, he could see that it was now at 20 / 30. Frustrated with this fact, Reu decided to search the area for materials. Looking around he thought he saw something in the snow drift, looking closer he could see some frozen tea-leaves. Moving straight into an attack, Reu felt himself sink into the snow-the terrain, it was no good, Reu was too slow with his footwork and the Ice Elemental avoided his attack. However, Reu was still able to avoid the counter-strike by ducking under it. Re-checking his footing, Reu prepared himself for the next series of strikes. However, the round wasn't a total loss, as Reu's battle healing ability ticked his HP bar slightly higher. Reu was thankful. Who knows how these battles could suddenly go. As he struck it, it seemed like snow erupted from the injured parts. Suddenly Reu felt an icy paw strike out but thankfully his armor absorbed the blow. Escaping unscathed, Reu was thankful for his equipment. A warrior was only as good as his equipment after all. The blade had driven into the ice monster, and Reu was thankful for landing such a strong blow. He didn't have long to celebrate however, as the Ice Elemental launched a piercing attack against him which sundered Reu's armor. Looking down at the wound, Reu could see Battle Healing attempting to heal him but it wasn't going to be enough on its own. Reu knew he'd have to hurry and finish this fight. Frustrated Reu had to move to a defensive stance relying on the restorative abilities of battle healing and his own adept footwork to avoid the incoming strikes by the monster. Shivering, Reu noted how it seemed to be getting colder and colder out. Moving in, Reu felt ready to strike. Launching his attack, he felt contact, and then immediately ducked the counter-striked. Smiling, Reu felt loosey-goosey as he bounced around in the snow.
