[PP-F4&3] Demons of The Mist <<Search for The Hoya>> (Ssendom) {COMPLETE}

The snow crunched under his boots as Jomei walked once again through the snowy town of Snowfrost Village located on the 4th Floor. Earlier in the day, he had met with a group of players who needed an extra hand with some quest on the Third Floor, Search for The Hoya it was called. Apparently there were some tough mobs guarding a secret treasure, those mobs being two giant minotaurs. They had told him to meet them on the Fourth Floor... either they had forgotten or they chickened out. He let out a heavy sigh,taking the form of a light mist, closing his eyes and his head drooping a bit. "I knew they seemed scared at this quest.. Guess I'm on my own with another one." He crossed his arms and looked up at the falling snow. It was always cold and snowing on this floor, but today it seemed exceptionally colder, and the snow came down a bit harder. Jomei shivered as he pulled his jacket shut. He looked around for some place of warmth. He then spotted a forge not too far from where he was standing. Judging by the position of the chimney on the roof, he would be able to feel some of the warmth from the fire on the outside of the building. He did not want to go inside and get too comfortable, or he may flake out on this quest on his own. The cold was keeping him alert. He jogged over to the wall of the forge and leaned against it, letting out a sigh of relief. "Ah, not much.. but its enough." With a flick of his wrist, he opened up his HUD, and moved over to his friends list. He scrolled through his friends, looking for someone to join him on his quest. He stopped momentarily on Ahti, but he had not heard from her in awhile, so he frowned and skipped over her. "...no ... no... hm..." He stopped on Ssendom and smirked. "Well, tough mobs call for a tough hunter." He opened up a message box to send a message to his friend.

 

Ssendom,

I could use a hand hunting down some Minotaurs on the Third Floor. You down? Meet me on the Fourth Floor, I'm outside of some forge.

He sent the message and crossed his arms, leaning against the wall.

Ssendom saw a message pop up on his notification while sitting inside the Crescent Hare Forge on the fourth floor, "I wonder who this message is from." He saw that is was from Jomei, so he dropped his menu HUD and began reading the message;

 

Ssendom,

I could use a hand hunting down some Minotaurs on the Third Floor. You down? Meet me on the Fourth Floor, I'm outside of some forge.

Jomei

 

He looks at the coordinates set for where Jomei was and then chuckled, "He's literally outside Meo-chan's forge. I'll pay him a visit." He equipped his new found gear and held the helmet to the side. The armor almost made him look like he was double his size, he affixed the sword and it's scabbard to set properly on the back of the armor. He headed out the door as he put his helmet on his head looking like 'The Dreadnought' that he claimed himself to be. As he came down the steps he turned to the left where Jomei was standing outside of "some forge" which happened to be Meokka's. "You need a something taken down, Jomei." The words seemed to echo deeper in the armor, his presence was almost completely different within the armor than without it.

Jomei heard the sound of heavy, clanking footsteps coming from the stairs of the forge next to him. He turned his head to see a man in heavy clad armor, making his way to his level. Suddenly, the man stopped and turned to Jomei, and then it spoke to him. "...Ssendom?" Jomei hesitated at first, he didnt think he recognized the voice, being echoed inside of the armor made it sound a little different. He looked up at the HP bar over the hulking man's head, to see it was in fact his friend. "Woah. Check you out!" His voice sounded excited. He crossed his arms and looked him up and down. "Heh, must have really done something to get on the blacksmith that made this' good side, huh?" He chuckled, figuring he probably got the armor from the forge he was currently in front of. 

"Anyway, down to business." He lifted his hand and opened up his HUD again, he sent Ssendom a party request, as well as shared the quest he was planning on doing. "Search for the Hoya. Its a quest down one floor in a misty forest. Says theres a treasure valued by many guarded by two giant minotaurs. Figured you'd be down for a nice hunt." He smirked.

Ssendom shifted his shoulder around to make sure the movement of it wasn't stiff and was pleasantly surprised by the fluidity and least amount of restricted mobility he had. "Yeah, I made a few upgrades since our last battle together." He chuckled for a second. "Yeah, I'm on the good side of my gal who runs the forge." He used his thumb to point at it behind him being extremely calm when mentioning it. He walked up afterwards to Jomei, "Yeah, down to business." He listened as Jomei explained that they were to fight with a bunch of minotaur's for something called a 'Hoya' Ssendom tried scratching the bottom of his chin with his hand took him a slight second to realize he couldn't do that with armor on that he was still getting used to. "Yeah, lets go smash some Minotaur's already then. Their horns can be very useful for crafting weapons and food and what not." he chuckled as he started trudging through the snow towards the Teleportation gate, "The longer we take the longer it takes to complete this. And you know me already, I love the thrill of the Hunt." He gabbed, his excitement seemed to seeth through the slits of his armor.

"Your gal huh?" Jomei crossed his arms and smirked. "Didnt know you had one of those, must be nice." He chuckled. "Anyway, we can talk more on the way" He led the two from the outside of the forge through the town square. He shivered a bit and pulled up the collar of his coat. After a short walk, they had arrived at the warp gate, which seemed to be the only thing not covered in snow. "Warp Floor Three!" In a flash of light, Jomei had vanished from the snowy Fourth Floor.

In that same light that he vanished in, Jomei appeared in the peaceful town of Delilah Village. He looked around with a smile, for it was much warmer here. "Surprising that theres something like a spooky forest guarded by Minotaurs here.." They walked to the edge of town, where they were met by fields of dandelions. He looked around, after a moment, raising his hand and pointing. "Theres our destination." 

Past the rolling fields of flowers, there stood a small forest with an eerie fog coming from it.

Ssendom nodded at the notion that they would talk on the way. After arriving at the Teleportation gate Jomei had gone first shouting where he'd like to teleport to, not a moment there after Ssendom shouted as well "Teleport: Delilah Village!" The light that had taken Jomei also surrounded Ssendom and took him to the 3rd floor, immediately the warmth of the sun could be felt and slowly but surely it was warming up his armor which felt like a freezer on the inside of it."I'd say I'm not too surprised of a spooky forest on a seemingly peaceful field when it comes to Aincrad to be honest." He stated bluntly then followed Jomei to the edge of the town overseeing a massive field of flowers, he stared although noone could see what he was truly staring at it was somewhat obvious it was toward the forest. As Ssendom stepped out of the town he reached for his sword immediately and withdrew the massive blade with his right hand, "Minotaurs will be a blast and a half to kill... I can't wait anymore it's itching at him to get to it!" He exclaimed in a somewhat hungry voice.

At the sound of Ssendom's metal blade scraping on the scabbard it was once held in, Jomei smirked. He looked back at his friend over his shoulder. "Lets get going then." Since he, as well, was excited to fight these creatures, he drew his sword from its sheath. His foot pressed into the cobblestone path below him as he began to run through the field of flowers. 

Once they made their way past the fields of dandelions, they arrived at the  edge of the Forest of Wavering Mist. He stopped in his step and looked up at the trees. They were very tall trees, their trunks ranged from thin to thick, but were all much taller than the average tree. They also were in a pretty close proximity, and there were no obvious paths to follow. On top of that, there was a thick fog that cut off almost all visibility. He clenched his rapier tightly in his fist and his face tensed. He slowly stepped into the misty forest.

((Upon a Loot Die roll of 19 or a 20 the cave will be found. On Loot Die rolls of 5 or lower will spawn a monster and trigger combat. Only 1 monster maybe fought at a time unless we both decide to fight both minotaurs either one at a time or both at once. -OOC))

Ssendom didn't hesitate behind Jomei when he paused, he walked on forward peering left and right he looked at the map on his HUD but it wasn't giving him any more details it was literally a labyrinth of tree's. He looked around searching for anything, materials or even monsters for the matter but nothing. "Looks like the map won't give us any assistance while inside this forest. Keep your eyes peeled for anything. Materials or tracks that could possibly lead us to the cave. I get the feeling that we're not in here alone." He turns his body around he thinks he see's shadows moving in the distance but he can't confirm it through this thick fog, "Don't get too far away from each other, else wise we'll have a difficult time finding each other again. That good Jomei?" He turns to the man who wasn't too far from him and asks.

Jomei followed closely behind Ssendom, clothing his sword. Despite the cool air, Jomei began to sweat slightly. He was honestly nervous, not being able to see and all. He turned around, walking backwards just behind Ssendom slightly, just to check behind them. "Yeah... splitting up would be a bad idea.." He spun back around when he heard the sound of crunching twigs. He looked down to see neither of them had stepped on anything. "Careful." His voice was a sharp whisper. He slowly walked, surveying his surroundings the best he could. It was dead silent, so silent that all Jomei could hear was the beating of his own heartbeat. Suddenly, a cracking sound filled the air. In a matter of seconds,Jomei turned his head to see the sight of a giant minotaur, with gray skin, dark hair, and piercing red eyes. It was wielding a large battle axe, that was now moments away from splitting Jomei in half. His feet moved for him, and he stepped out of the way, the axe crashing into the ground, kicking up grass and dirt. "Holy [censored]!"He yelled. He quickly spun around, slashing his sword horizontally at the minotaur to counter attack him. Despite taking the opportunity, the minotaur blocked Jomei's rapier with the handle of its battle axe. It leaned into the interlocked weapons to get its face close to Jomei's and growled a deep growl.

Ssendom heard the slamming of the ax and turned around to see a minotaur that was larger than Jomei by a decent bit. Although Ssendom was as wide as the beast thanks to his new armor the Minotaur stood a good two feet taller than both of them. He could feel his bloodlust light up this was the thrill he wanted a monster with a bite and a rage to fight without giving up. Without hesitation from Jomei locking their weapons together Ssendom charged forward dragging his sword on the ground, "Let's do this you FILTHY CUR!" He shouted in a maniacal craze. He swung so mightily with his sword that it lifted the Minotaur and threw it into a tree leaving a scar that seemed twice the size of the blade itself, but Ssendom didn't stop there. He charged again bullrushing the beast with his shoulder snapping the massive trunk of the tree forcing it to fall over him yet it crashed on the ground hitting none of them. He and the Minotaur both stood back up, the beast to be in a semi-daze after the powerful attacks that it had taken from the man, "Good, you don't get to die yet cur!" He sounded overly joyous about this battle.

The minotaur had just been thrown through the air like a rag doll. And to make matters worse for him, Ssendom had tackled him through a tree, destroying the bark and taking the tree down with them. It grunted, using its battle axe to support itself as it stood up. Its legs were staggering as it tried to maintain its balance. Its dazy eyes met with the slits in Ssendom's helmet, and they locked there. Its fiery red eyes glared at Ssendom as it quickly shoved him with the butt end of his battle axe. As Ssendom tool a step back from the push, the minotaur had picked its axe up over its shoulder and swung down, meeting with Ssendom's shoulder. What could have been a devastating attack merely made a loud metal-on-metal noise, for it bounced off of his armor.

Jomei's eyes widened as Ssendom took one swing at the beast and knocked him flying into the air. They came down hard after crashing through a tree. He held his sword at the ready to switch off with Ssendom when he had the chance. Suddenly, he saw the minotaur stand up, and his axe following him, coming down on Ssendom's armor plated shoulder. As the blade of the axe bounced off of his armor, Jomei took the opportunity. "Ssendom, get ready!" He took a step back and ran at Ssendom's back. As he got closer to him, he leapt into the air and used Ssendom's other shoulder as a platform to jump again off of. From jumping off of his shoulder, his sword began to glow gold as he shot down at the Minotaur, his sword pointing forward. "Linear!" Jomei's attack was so fast it almost looked as if he pierced straight through the enemy, but instead left a large gash along its side. The beast roared in pain as Jomei hit the ground and rolled. He span around on his knee to face Ssendom and the Minotaur

Ssendom laughed heartily at the Minotaurs failed attempt to hurt him, Jomei used Ssendom as a leaping pad and struck the Minotaur causing it to cry out in agony. As Jomei leaped off him he squatted down holding his blade behind him ready for the upward arc. Just as his teammate faced the Minotaur and him, Ssendom swung his blade in an upward arc before the beast could regain composure splitting it in two and exploding it into data particles. Afterwords he pressed the blue circle noting what he had gained then dropped his blade on his shoulder, "Lets keep searching, these Minotaur's were supposed to be difficult? It's like they're attacking me with butter knives." He laughed heartily then continued walking towards Jomei then passed him as to keep close quarters with each other.

Before Jomei could act again, he saw a blade cut straight through the Minotaur. He stood up straight as the beast bursted into data, Ssendom standing on the other side of it. "Good on ya.. There was really no challenge to that at all, was there?" He chuckled as he Ssendom walked up to him. He turned around and walked along side of him, his sword at the ready in case they came in contact with another enemy.

The two continued their search in the forest. Jomei looked around slowly, looking for any signs of some sort of cave or structure where they would find the quest item. Sadly, Jomei could not spot anything through the thick fog. He sucked his teeth as he continued to survey the surrounding area. Looking to his side, Jomei noticed piercing red eyes, standing at about 12 feet tall, glaring at him. As Jomei clenched his sword, the image dissipated into the fog. Jomei began to sweat. "You think we pissed these guys off killing their friend?"

Before Ssendom could answer Jomei's question a Minotaur bullrushed him, but before it could pierce his chest with it's horns Ssendom grabbed them slowing it down and stopping it's momentum but holds the beast in place before he could withdraw his weapon again "I think it's a slight bit redundant to answer your question now, how about you Jomei?" He chuckled as the Minotaur fought to free itself. "Oh and we should probably switch, He's kinda an easy target for you good sir." He chuckled again holding the Minotaur in place.

Jomei spun around when he heard the sound of a charging minotaur. It roared as it ran at Ssendom with its head lowered, attempting to use his horns as a pitchfork of sorts. With the sudden clanking of his armor, Ssendom had stopped the minotaur in its tracks. He smirked at his comment. "Got it." He ran out from behind Ssendom, passing by the enemy minotaur who had been stopped in its tracks. Jomei held his sword at his side, across his body, ready to slash at its side. As he passed by it, he brought his  sword up, leaving a large gash going from the minotaur's stomach diagonally up to right under his shoulder. The sudden pain caused Ssendom to be able to get the upper hand and push back the minotaur, staggering it. Jomei spun on his heels, his sword glowing gold as he came in for another strike. This time, he thrusted his sword forward, piercing the enemy right in the spine.

Ssendom took the upper hand on shoved the minotaur away with overpowering might. Ssendom charged forward and swung as hard as he could connecting at the exact same time as Jomei leaving two massive scars exuding mass amounts of red data fragments, it barely missed the tree as it got flung back. When it stopped tumbling it's eyes flicked red at Ssendom, it wanted it's revenge for killing it's brethern it charged forth again faking Ssendom into the horns then ripping an upwards arc with it's axe cleaving across him but the armor seemed to handle most of the brunt allowing Ssendom to stand his ground. It could immediately be felt in the presence of him that he was grinning like a madman, he cackled at the beast, "Is that all you got wimp!"

Jomei grinned as Ssendom sent another minotaur flying past him. He stood up straight and held his sword forward towards where the minotaur smashed into the ground. As the dust began to clear, piercing red eyes seemed to look right past Jomei and at Ssendom. The minotaur roared and began to charge through, pushing all of the flying dirt out of its way. It went to shove at Jomei with its horns out of the way, but Jomei dove to the side, rolling to get away from it. He stood back up just in time to see the minotaur's axe make contact with Ssendom, but just like last time, did hardly any damage. Jomei decided to take this opportunity to finish it off. He used his <Acrobatics> skill to quickly climb into the tree next to him to the lowest branch he could find. Once on the branch, he took a couple steps before leaping down at the minotaur. His sword began to glow a bright gold, as he swung the sword with all of his might across his body, causing him to start spinning like a top in midair. "Dancing Dragon Hurricane!" Jomei made direct contact with the nape of the neck of the minotaur, causing its head to pop off of its body as it exploded into blue data fragments. Jomei sheathed his sword and stretched his arm from the attack. "We should really find this place before we run into another one of them."

Ssendom slid his sword into it's scabbard after the Minotaur was dispatched, "Nice job there, now lets hope we can find the-" He stops mid sentence as he saw a slight break in the mist just past Jomei's head to see the gaping maw that was mentioned as the entrancing to the guarded vault of the Hoya, "Well, lets finish this up. And we're definitely killing both Minotaurs, you up for that challenge Jomei?" He asked him with a cunning grin that couldn't be seen but could easily be felt through his armor as he stared at Jomei, he waited for Jomei to see and make the first movement so he could cover his backside just incase any other Minotaur decided to try ambush them. He continuously clinched his fists over and over his excitement was starting to overtake him, he really wanted to run headfirst blindly and without thinking but he had to keep himself in check with his party member so he didn't put his teammate at risk even though it was really difficult to do so.

Jomei tilted his head a bit in wonder as Ssendom stopped mid sentence. He turned around to see what he was looking at to see a larger structure. "Hah! Thats gotta be it." Jomei was excited. He had heard that the Hoya of Minos was a beautiful, ruby jeweled amulet that was sought out by many. Many players had ventured out to gain this prize to give to one they care about. He wanted to possibly surprise the girl he cared about with it when he finally saw her again, but knew at the same time, she would be mad at him for going without her. He would decide what to do with it later, getting it was his priority now. His brows perked when Ssendom mentioned taking out both minotaurs, rather than the required one needed to get the other to back off. There was silence for a moment, then Jomei drew his Summerthorn from its sheath and clenched it. "Do you really have to ask?" He grinned, his brows furrowed. 

Jomei crouched down into a runners position, his finger tips touching the ground, one knee bent with the other extended. "Ill see you over there." and with a chuckle, he took off using his <Sprint> skill. He bobbed and weaved through the trees, the structure getting larger and larger. The closer he got, it revealed itself to be a small hill with a flat side, where there was an entrance to a cavern, looking exactly like a mineshaft. The entrance was boarded over, and on each side stood a minotaur. 

Jomei emerged from the fog, leaping into the air. He thrusted his sword forward swiftly, striking the first minotaur with a 6 hit combo. The one he had attacked staggered a bit, bouncing into the wall behind him and grunting. It returned the favor by lifting its leg and kicking Jomei. Jomei had enough time to lift his shield to block most of the attack, and the fiery hot metal of his Summertime Blaze scorched the bottom of the Minotaur's hoofed foot as he made contact with the shield. The kick sent Jomei  flying back, slamming into a tree. When the dust settled, Jomei was leaning against the tree. As he stood up, he spit some of the blood out of his mouth.

As Jomei got kicked back toward the fog, Ssendom broke it charging forward to strike the other Minotaur getting it's attention. It took him longer to get there due to the lack of speed from Sprint. Just as he reached the Minotaur he impaled it with his sword and pinned it to the mountain wall, it's eyes flicked red with rage looking back at him, "Well hi there ugly, I need you to take your looks to the afterlife." He got his helmet directly into the face of the Minotaur to incite fear into it, But it growled back and shoved him off following up with a wide horizontal swing of it's Two-Handed Ax. It connected with his armor but stopped immediately on impact to which he cackled. "You're pathetic!" He lifted his foot he kick into the Minotaur with strong force knocking it back into the wall. "You alright over there Jomei? I don't need you dying on me over there!" He chuckled as he shouted to him.
