[SP-F5] Sands, here we go again <<The Traveler>> [Complete]

Recommended Posts

Macradon would arrive at the 5th floor again, oh the memories of getting beaten up by a shark. Hopefully he wasn't going to go after it again ... probably later, but not now. He would hesitate to enter the sandy desert as he saw a woman, all clad up in thick robes looking like the those desert people, who would've thought. She looked desperate, like she needed something done or needed help with something difficult. He would take a deep breath and begin to walk towards her, seems to be an NPC. A quest NPC, at least that's what it looks like.

''Help me, please help me!" she said, wanting help for something of hers. ''Yes, what can I help you with?" Macradon replied. 'Huh, funny to actually talk with a NPC, haven't really thought of that I'm just talking to a program, intriguing' he thought as the woman would begin to speak again. "I've lost my cargo, my precious cargo. Out there in the desert" she said, looking eagerly at Macradon. ''I will assist you, it will not take long before I'm back with your cargo" he said.

Will you accept this quest?

Accept / Decline

Macradon would press the accept bottom and see the happy face of the woman. ''Thank you, thank you very much!" she said and would go back, sitting, waiting for her precious cargo to come back to her. He would walk back to the inn and buy something to keep him alive out there, a bit of water, some bread and then he was ready to venture out.

He would take some spare cloth and cover his mouth so he wouldn't get any sand in his mouth. The stormy winds outside of the city here on the 5th floor were furious. A raging sand storm, all day all night. Just as he entered the wavy winds of the sands, he could feel why the caravan people wore those clothes, not because they wanted to protect themselves from the heat rays of the sun, but to protect them from these gushing wind of sand that could rip skin apart if fast enough. Just as he walked, he would notice a shadow out there in the sand storm, not very large but fast approaching. He would still keep walking in the general direction the woman said her cargo was, trying to ignore the shadow for just a little moment more. It would get closer and closer, up to the point where he would clearly see the figure without the sand making it a silhouette. Fins, not just one but 5 back fins.

'Really, five sand sharks? How can there be more than one field boss respawns at once, and 5 of them!?' he thought as he would prepare his sword. He would see 5 fins, looking like the same fins as the sand shark. He was prepared to fight, but could he really handle 5 sand sharks? 'There!' he thought as he saw one of the fins twitch and fly up in the air. It was not a sand shark, more like a barracuda with a crocodile head. It was large, but not even close to the size of the sand shark. With its movement, Macradon would side step and cleave down with his sword. The side step was a jump, preparing his sword art and activating it. <Avalanche> would cleave down through the barracuda and it would disappear.

He would prepare himself for another attack from these fearsome foes, even though he just instakilled one of them. A gust of wind would push him to the side, it didn't really make a scratch on him, but it put him in a perfect spot for the barracudas to assault. He would try to get up but the wind was too strong. One of the barracudas would take this as an advantage and jump into the air, getting a boost from the violent wind and launch itself towards Macradon. It would latch onto him, pinning him down on the ground with more weight holding him down and the heavy wind. There wasn't really much he could do other than hoping he could get the strength and get up instead of ending as a barracuda feast.

He didn't expect the road to be so difficult and he did not take this assault easily as he thought he would. 'Damn this quest was harder than I expected, probably that's the reason she wouldn't be able to handle it herself, nor any other person from her caravan' he thought as he tried to get loose from the bite of the barracuda. The other 3 would slowly begin to circle around him, waiting for a good opportunity to strike Macradon. As he shook and shook his arm violently to get the barracuda off him, it tore even more of him, losing more hp, but the shook hard enough to make the barracuda fall off. He threw it up into the storm and got up himself. When the barracuda was falling at head height of Macradon, he would get into stance and launch off <Cyclone> to cleave the barracuda in two.

He would get into a pflug guard, painting at one of the fins and switching through the 3 different fins circling him. He would grip tighter and tighter on the handle of his sword as the tension grew on who would attack first, the barracudas or Macradon. There really was no use in Macradon being the first to launch an attack as he wouldn't be able to do anything against the barracudas when they were swimming under the sand. They had no legs so he wouldn't have a chance to get them up on the sand other than making them attack and wither block or deflect it. As he kept on circling himself, switching through the barracudas, he heard a noise, something loud and aggressive. He turned around and there it was. One of the barracudas had launched itself at him, trying to get a good bite. He would hold his sword up in a halfswording grip to deflect the attack away from him so he could follow up with a cleave at the barracuda. A good nice and straight cleave right through it. He would get back in his pflug guard and await upon the next attack from one of the two remaining barracudas.

The storm was slowly picking up, getting stronger and stronger but he would keep himself standing up on the soft warm sand. He would face one of the sharks and concentrating on that one, if the one behind him would act, he would try to dodge as best as possible. The one in front of him rushed up from the sand, going for a straight attack at Macradon. He would block it with his sword and push it back, in one motion he would go back and stab his sword forward, piercing the (heavens)barracuda and kill it. Now there was only one left. He would turn to it, but it had vanished. 'No, I need the loot!' he thought as he desperately looked for it.

He would slowly look around him and wait for the barracuda to jump at him, but it was nowhere near sight, maybe it fled because it knew it was going to die. Pack animals usually wont sacrifice all these creatures for their prey that is much stronger, so it would only be natural for them to flee, but hey, this i a game. The harsh wind would slowly ease down, but still storming. It would ease up enough for him to notice differences in the sands. Not too far away, the sand would swirl and shift sides, like something was burrowing underneath it, something being so rough the sand would move this violently. It wouldn't be healthy for the sword to touch and grind on all that sand, but he just had to. He went towards the subterranean movement and waited for it to get near him. When it was about 1 meter from him he would stab his sword down into the sand as far as he could, and it went over a meter before it was stopped by something. A roar of pain went through the air as he had slain the last of the barracudas.

He wouldn't go far before the sands would begin to take advance and become stronger. It was difficult for him to walk straight because of the wind pushing him. He would slowly begin to question if he was even going in the right direction. He would sheath his sword again and put it away in his inventory, it was only taking up mass and resistance against the air. He would use both hands to slowly guide himself through the stormy weather. He would get to a point where his hands would reach something rocky, a big boulder. He would take this opportunity to climb up on it and try to see if he could find the precious cargo of hers. When he reached the top, something wasn't right. He could easily spot the cargo but that wasn't what was wrong here. The boulder shook and Macradon would fall down from it. When he hit he sand he would see that the boulder was actually a giant tortoise with rock accents on it. It would roar at Macradon and charge quickly at him. He would quickly jump up and land his feet on the tortoise, pushing himself backwards up into the air. He would take out his sword midair and activate his sword art <Avalanche>.

He cleaved straight down onto the hard shell of the tortoise, but it would negate most of his damage, but the concussive force would still be enough to do something to the tortoise. The wind would pick up again, this time stronger than before. The sharp sand would make a few scratches on Macradon, tearing a bit of his clothes. The tortoise would try to attack by pulling its head, feet and tail into its shell and rotate furiously, Macradon was however fast enough to dodge it and would follow up with a cut, but the spinning spiky shell would make the sword bounce off with no damage done whatsoever.

He would watch as the tortoise would furiously keep spinning to wreak havoc around it. Macradon was smart enough to jump away, long enough that the tortoise wont be hitting him. 'So if vertical and diagonal hits are deflected, I have to try something else' he thought and prepared a sword art. He rushed forward with his sword at his side, he would get into position where the tortoise wasn't hitting him, but the tortoise was in his sword range. He swung the sword as it began to glow in a horizontal cut, ignoring the spinning spiky rocks. The tortoise stopped spinning and roared in pain as Macradon had cleaved through the shell with <Cyclone>

It would charge at him at high speed, he didn't have any time to evade or parry for that matter, all he thought of right now was to use the speed it had for his advantage. He would quickly take a lunge towards the tortoise as he also stabbed his sword as hard as possible to break through the shell. As he got through it, the tortoise squealed in pain but it kept on charging forward to a point where it would then begin to spin, still having the sword in its shell. Macradon would be tossed around as he still held the sword, soon after he would land onto the still spinning shell, getting torn damage upon him. He would limp away after he got to pull out the sword from the spinning tortoise. The damage wasn't lethal but it sure did hurt a lot.

The tortoise would keep on spinning violently, aiming towards Macradon with each aggressive launch. He had nothing else to do than dodging, evading and usually just blocking it all. He would wait, try to wait for a good opportunity to strike the target, but in vein he kept on ruining the chance every time he got it because he evaded the wrong way. He tried and tried but he did never succeed on landing a clean hit on the tortoise, nor did the tortoise ever hit him. With just a few steps Macradon found himself in a good spot to get a strike at the tortoise. He would leap up and get a good angle with his sword and land it onto the tortoise, but the spinning rocky shell made the sword bounce off like it was nothing. Frustrated he would back up and evade as much as he could.

He would get tired of this spinning tortoise and would end this now. He wold go all in or nothing on this last combo he was about to unleash. He would get down low with his sword in neben guard. As the tortoise would stop its spinning attack to wait for its cool down, Macradon would quickly move to the front of the tortoise. His sword began to glow as he would cleave upwards, bringing the tortoise's front up. Macradon would follow the momentum of the strong cleave and turn around mid air and cleave and keep on following as he would cleave again. He would stop his momentum there and then use the build up momentum to repel towards the other way that he was swinging from, cleaving back. He would finish it off with a roar and cleave straight down, ending the digital life of the tortoise. 'This was one heck of a battle' he thought as he would pick up the loot.

When he slowly began to walk away from where he fought the tortoise, he was confused on which direction he should walk, not only that but it had already begun getting dark. The sun was setting and the weather was getting colder, much colder. The sand storm would keep on being harsh and tearing whatever it could touch. Macradon would try to find his way around here, keeping a good look at the starry night that was to come. He wouldn't get much by the stars, these stars weren't similar to those in the real world so they were no help at all. He would find something tall, maybe a boulder that isn't a gigantic tortoise. He found a rock formation that he would begin to climb up on. He would hold on tight on the rocks so he wouldn't be flung away from the wind. 'Ah, there' he thought as he saw it wasn't too far from where he was standing. Luckily the cargo was on a high hill of sand so it was easily spotted from a low point with a high vision range. He would keep on walking through this dangerous terrain. He would drink some of the water from the hot desert he had just survived from and would soon get to the cargo.

As he got to the cargo, he would somehow make an easy contraption that would make it easier to move over sand, something that took off most of the friction from the heavy cargo onto something smaller so it was easier to move around. Macradon would take it and begin to walk, slowly getting away until he found a pace where he would be able to move in a constant speed so he wouldn't be slowed down. Unfortunately he was flung sideways as a gust from the sand storm burst out and damage Macradon. He would get up again, trying to get a good pace again, hopefully get through this cold stormy night with as much ease as possible.

He would keep on walking in the dark storm until he saw something in front of him, it was difficult to pick out because the night was already dark. He would stop up so he could easily try to see what the thing coming near him was. It was speeding, very fast as something he had encountered before. 'Dammit, why now?' he thought as it came close enough for him to see that it was back fins, 5 of them. They would speed up and Macradon would take out his sword. He waited for them to come closer because it was nothing he could do to hurt these guys under the sand while they were moving in packs, it was just too difficult. Suddenly 3 of them burst out of the sand, going after a bite at Macradon. He would crouch down and evade them all, and then move to the side, away enough forcing them to advance further. 3 of the were stuck after the tried to bite Macradon but ended up biting the cargo.

The last two barracudas would jump up and pin Macradon to the ground by his arms. He wasn't able to do anything from here other than struggle against their teeth and weight and all the wind and sand. He wasn't in a good position as the rest of the barracudas came loose of the cargo and began swimming in his direction. Maybe he was barracuda munchie snack. He would keep on fighting and keeping his spirit high, he hasn't lost the battle yet.

He would fight hard to get himself loose from the jaws of the two barracudas and get up on his feet again. He would get his eyes on the three barracudas hat were rushing towards him. He would jump forward and make a roll as he saw the barracudas jumping up for a bite. He rolled underneath them and dodged the attack, but had no chance to attack himself. He would get up and prepare himself in a pflug guard. As he saw that the barracudas would begin to surround him, he would prepare himself with an ochs guard, waiting for a good opportunity to strike.

He would see one of the barracudas jump up in the air to strike him, he would then react with and advance and use the false edge to bash it as his sword began to glow, cutting it up. As he saw another jump up at him from the same side, he would proceed his attack with a stab. He had successfully executed the <Dragon wing swipe> on multiple enemies, which was a cool accomplishment for him. 'Nice' he thought as he saw the two barracudas slowly disappear and left 3 behind to be slain.

It was getting tiring all this battling, all he needed to do was to get the cargo back, and this was what he had to go through. He shook that mind off himself as the last 3 barracudas assaulted him. They were attack from three different angles, roughly the same height of attack. Macradon would take this as an opportunity and use his <Cyclone> to wipe them all out with one last attack. He spun around cleaving them all into bits as they slowly vanished. he would sigh in relief and pick up the loot they left behind. The wind was harsh and shook him, slamming him down on the ground as a gust would swoop over him. He would try to get up in this harsh weather, it was quite difficult but he managed it.
