[[SP - F5]] «Blood in the Sand» [COMPLETE]

Recommended Posts

The feeling of his boots hitting solid ground that wasn't sand was like heaven. His pace immediately sped up as he walked along the path, having a much easier time with carrying himself on the solid ground in comparison to the shifting, energy-consuming sands. He was beginning to wonder if he'd gotten some kind of debuff while wandering around in the desert and just hadn't noticed. He shot a quick glance up to his health bar and saw no out of place symbols, but did notice his health had been replenished, a product of the «Survival» skill he had picked up on his first excursion through this floor's treacherous landscapes. What fond memories those were. Takao passed by the various shops, some of them player run, and wondered who in their right mind would willingly subject themselves so such torturous conditions. As mind boggling as it was, he reminded himself of what he was looking for - the teleportation pad. It was time to get off this floor.

It took him mere minutes to locate and maneuver his way to the teleportation pad. A few others were using it, so he hung back and let them go, instead opting to make some idle conversation with a few players nearby. He'd told them of the Sand Shark's location after learning that they were interested in hunting it, and also gave them a detailed explanation of its tactics and how to counter them. The three heavily armoured men, two of them taller than Takao and wielding weapons that would've scared any sane being, looked at him with a mixture of interest and disbelief, wondering how somebody as "unremarkable" as him could take down a field boss on their lonesome. He responded with a smile and shrug, then blamed his success on luck and bid the three of them farewell and good luck upon realizing the teleporter was free to be used.

Takao stepped up onto the platform and inhaled a sharp breath. "Floor three!" His command spurred on a bright flash of lights, and before he knew it, the intense heat of floor five was gone. Instead, a pleasant breeze brushed against his flushed face. The third floor was still warm as the sun was shining, but not nearly as bad as the desert, and the cool afternoon breeze certainly helped. He immediately stepped off the platform after the teleporting was complete, then headed off for the western end of the small town. He greeted both familiar and unfamiliar faces alike with a large, friendly smile and wave. As the cafe he frequented for their sandwiches and cool drinks came into view, he remembered that check list he'd mentally made earlier. Go to Armadillo, check. Go to the desert, check. Find and kick some Sand Shark butt, check. Return to the third floor and enjoy a nice sandwich, yet to be checked, but it would be very soon.
