He reaffirmed his weakening grip on his sword and ignored the large plumes of white smoke he exhaled. One of the icy canids approached and he dodged, forfeiting his opportunity to swing in favour of preserving a bit of his health and energy. Takao 0 Posted July 27, 2015 Author #22 Report Share Posted July 27, 2015 Finally, by luck, Takao managed to deal the last bit of damage needed to finish off the wolf he'd been weakening over time. He wasn't sure if the programmed canids could feel exhaustion or if it had just been his imagination, but a misstep on the wolf's part afforded him the opportunity to strike clean through his four legged assailant. He turned to face the last of the wolf pack he'd stumbled upon. Takao 0 Posted July 27, 2015 Author #23 Report Share Posted July 27, 2015 Takao rolled his shoulders and gave the sword in his hand a spin to test the weight in his fatigued state, making sure that he still had the energy to move it as he wanted. He was satisfied with the result and turned his attention to the wolf, which was now sprinting toward him. He met it half way, though his own pace was much more reserved and slow, making sure to save his energy for the walk back. His sword was the one to deal damage as it cut along the length of the side of the wolf. It hopped back up onto its feet and began to circle him, its ears back and head low, fangs visible and snarling angrily at him. His habitual smile didn't give off any clear indication of being intimidated, even though the sight before him was rather unsettling. He waited for it to charge first, and when it did, he stopped its advance with a firm boot to its face. The wolf squirmed away from his next stab, which went straight into the ground, and immediately put distance between itself and Takao. "Lil' bugger... Just stand still, will ya'?" Takao pulled his sword from the ground as he glanced at the wolf's glowing red eyes, still as filled with programmed hatred for his very being as it ever was. He exhaled a breath through his nostrils and watched the white smoke dissipate before returning his attention to the wolf. It froze in place until bursting into shards of shimmering data before his tired eyes. "Finally!" Takao yelled out to nobody in particular as he shakily sheathed his sword into the scabbard on his back. He was very quick to leave the area, his mind set on one thing - bed. The origin was exactly as he had thought it to be, a four legged canine with fur as white as the snow, glowing red eyes, and exposed fangs as it snarled toward the brunet. He wasn't the stealthiest of people, so his attempt at sneaking up on the monster had failed before the idea even entered his head. With no element of surprise to benefit from, Takao decided to strike first.
