{F1-SP} Forging a Blade <<Earning a Living>>

The scimitar, with its curved blade, reflected the sun's light as it hit the surface of the metal, only dimly. She held the sword above her head, sitting cross-legged in the grass just outside the walls of The Town of Beginnings, observing the different features of the sword. The girl then sighed as the turned the sword in her hand, so the blade was facing the opposite direction, and the plunged it down to stick into the dirt next to her. ~"I never noticed how crappy of a sword it was.. No wonder so many new players got their ass' kicked by boars..." She closed her eyes as she felt the warmth of the sun and the coolness of the light breeze that accompanied it. Opening one eye, Jevi's gaze went back to her sword that was sticking out of the ground. It was about time she did something about it. She stood up, grabbing the blade from the dirt, and walking back through the gates into the city.

She knew that if she wanted to get the right type of weapon and armor to make her happy, she would have to get it herself.. Well in this case, create it herself. She knew about the <Earning a Living> quest here on the first floor by word of mouth. She even helped out her girlfriend to become a chef a couple of days before hand as well, so Jevi had a decent idea of just how this quest was going to play out. The purple haired girl lifted her hand to open up her display menu, and with a couple more poked opened a map in front of her. As she walked, she observed the map, filtering through the different player owned and NPC shops here on the first floor. She eventually broke her search down to NPC blacksmith.. and found there were only two in the entire city. Deciding between the two, Jevi figured the one called "Beginning's Blacksmith" had to be the correct choice. 

Using her map as a sort of GPS locked on her position, Jevi easily made her way through the maze of a city to find the store. It was fairly simple looking.. with many lower-leveled players walking in and out. She figured it definitely was the correct choice of the two. She walked inside of the open door and was immediately hit with the fumes, consisting of burning wood and metal. She coughed a couple times before making her way forward to the counter, where a grizzly man stood.. most likely the NPC she was looking for.

"Oy there, what can I do for you?" the man said, his mouth barely visible through his burly beard.

"I'm looking to take up smithing, is it you that I talk to?" Jevi replied, placing one hand on the counter between them.

"Well then, you've come to the right place." the man nodded. 

As the man looked back at Jevi, a small box opened up in front of her:

Earning a Living: Becoming a Blacksmith
Go out into the field and collect:
3 Ore 
2 Boar's leather

O Yes X No

Jevi tapped on the circle, indicating that she accepted the quest, ~"Alright.. doesn't seem too bad."

Exiting the shop, she lifted her hand to open up her quest menu again. She looked over the list again with a hand on her chin. ~"Well it seems pretty obvious where to get the boar leather from.. I just wonder where I'll find different ores.." Only was she was going to find out was first hand experience, so she started walking through the city towards the exit gate. She pulled out her scimitar and looked at it again, deep in though. She had only fought against other mobs while with other players, defeated them with others at least. She hoped this time she would be able to do it on her own.

Upon exiting the town, Jevi took in a deep breath. ~"Alright.. where to begin.." she mumbled to herself, scanning the horizon for either boars or some sort of gathering spot for ore. She stepped forward out of the safe zone, figuring the smarter move would be to take care of the boars now, since they were right in front of her. He clenched the sword in her hand, eyeing for which boar she felt was the best place to start. Looking left and right, wondering if there was even a difference between all of these mobs. Her eyes locked forward again, when she noticed a boar grazing in the grass about 10 feet in front of her. ~".. okay.."

She clenched the handle of her sword and ran forward at the boar, ready to take on the monster. As she got into range, it turned around to see it was about to be attacked. Lowering its head to the ground, it began to snort and dig its dark hooves into the dirt, ready to counter Jevi. Before the boar could conter Jevi's attack, she quickly brought her sword down on the side of her enemy's head. With a loud squeal, it lifted its head and charged into Jevi's stomach. ~"Oof"

She laid her arm over her stomach and looked at the boar that caused her pain, ~"Alright asshole.." She stood up straight, also realizing the pain in this game was very minimal. She held her sword at the ready, glaring at her opponent with her bright yellow eyes. She began to circle the boar, watching carefully for any sort of movement. It seemed the beast did the same. She could not find an opening in the boar's defenses for it was keeping a very close eye one her. She would need to think of a different approach.

Guess it was time to try and attack. Jevi stopped circling the boar and slowly began to walk forward, trying to get as close as possible without startling the boar. At first it was working, or at least she hoped so. It was then a loud squeal filled the air, and the boar lunged forward at Jevi. The surprise attack knocked Jevi off of her feet and onto her behind, trying to hold the boar away from her body with all of her strength.

Jevi grit her teeth as the boar swung its tusks back and forth, trying to connect with Jevi. She needed to do something to get out of this situation, she could not die here. She opened her eyes and glared up at the boar, a malicious grin on her face. She lifted her arms and grabbed at the boar's tusks, and with a powerful pull downwards, she drove the boar's tusks into the dirt. She then reached out to the side to grab her scimitar, which she had dropped during the fray. Turning the blade in her hand, she drove the sword deep into the boar's body, still staring into the red eyes of the mob. Once she felt the boar let up for a moment, she drover her knee upward and slid her body out.

Jevi slowly stood up off of the ground, purple locks of hair blocking her face. As she heard snorts of the boar, signaling it had recovered from the attack, she shifted her head to look at it. Some of the bangs moved from her face as she moved, revealing one of her yellow eyes, which seemed to pierce into the very soul of the boar.. if it even had one. The boar ran forward at Jevi, charging sloppily at the girl, seeming quite out of breath from her last attack no doubt. Once the boar was close enough to her, without making any prior movements, she lifted her leg and brought it down, stepping on the boar's face. This stopped the beast in its tracks, not able to make any movement closer to the girl. She then slowly lifted her sword above her, still with the same apathetic stare. As she activated her sword skill, causing the blade to ignite in a  bright red glow, she swung the sword down, right on top of the boar's head.. after she moved her foot of course. The boar dropped to the floor in front of her, its legs sprawled out to the side, just barely alive.

Jevi spun her sword in her hand and looked down at the defenseless pig in front of her. Holding her sword backwards, the blade pointing behind her, she brought the sword up even with her face. After a moment of letting the beast lay there, she brought the blade down, ending the poor boar's misery. It freed her sword as it disappeared into blue data.
Looking in front of her again, she noticed a rewards screen for taking out the boar. She had received the material she was looking for, as well as an additional item. It was a type of scarf she noticed.. Opening her inventory, she selected the item and equipped it. The cloth materialized onto her shoulders, already wrapped around her neck. The brim of the scarf was worn high, and easily covered her mouth.

She took a long deep breath and looked down at her hands. What had come over her? She just.. snapped went berserk on that boar. Was it the fear of death? Or the fear of not being strong enough? Or maybe it was bad memories resurfacing and shaping into sheer adrenaline and violent actions.. She shook her head, whatever it was.. she needed to make sure to keep it under control as much as possible. ~"Well, thats one down... just one more." She scanned the surrounding fields for another boar to fight.

Being the Floor One mob infested the fields outside of The Town of Beginnings, it did not take long for Jevi to spot another boar. She started at a slow pace towards the unsuspecting, virtual animal, which turned into a faster walk. That faster walk turning into a slight jog, and so on until she was sprinting at the boar with her sword held at the side. The new scarf around her neck flapped behind her as her pace quickened. As she entered the mob's aggro zone, it took notice of her and turned around. Jevi felt her foot catch onto something, probably a rock of some sorts. Hitting the stone while at high speeds knocked her off her balance, and she wobbled forward, still trying to keep up her run. Her body crashed into the boar and tumbled over it, falling to the ground behind it.

~"Dammit!" she quickly got to her feet again and spun around, creating some distance between her and her new friend. Good thing no one saw that... especially Shaya.. She sighed heavily. She took a better grip on her sword and watched the boar carefully as it shook its head from the force of the girl who just crashed into its snout. Now was her chance to attack it.. hopefully. She took a much slower jog towards her enemy, slashing her sword across its back. That got its attention for sure this time, for it quickly spun around to look at her, red eyes glaring at Jevi.

She was still close to the boar, for she did not bother trying to increase the distance between the two after her first attack. She figured she could try to get this fight over as quickly as possible to avoid taking any more heavy damage from her opponent. Almost immediately after her first attack, she hit the boar with another blow from her sword. She then continued the onslaught, slashing at the boar as much as possible while she had the chance.

Keep going.. Don't let up. Jevi grit her teeth as she continued her onslaught on the boar's body. She made powerful cut's in her enemy's skin, riddling it with bright red gashes. It was then she began to feel that bloodlust feeling again.. She was not surprised, given she was murdering this boar without giving it a chance to retaliate. She took a deep breath through her nostrils, trying to shake off the oncoming storm. The boar took this as an opportunity to throw its head upwards, cutting Jevi's thigh with its tusk and knocking her to the side.

The boar had taken break in Jevi's onslaught to return the damage dealt to Jevi. Letting out a loud squeal, it charged towards the girl again, viciously trying to ram its tusks into Jevi. Recovering from the last attack, Jevi barely managed to jump out of the way of the boar's approach. As she hit the ground rolling, the boar quickly spun around to get another pass at attacking Jevi. She picked herself up as quickly as possible with just enough time to dive out of the way again.

Jevi continued to haphazardly roll out of the way of the boar's pummeling attacks. The pest really was not giving Jevi the appropriate amount of time to get back to her feet and regain her balance, a dirty trick indeed. She figured the only way to get her chance was to land an attack on it during this state of dodging, she would just have to find her chance. As she came to her knees after another dodge, the boar ran right towards her, tusks ready to plow through Jevi's chest. She waited until the last moment this time, hoping her plan would work. When the time came, she quickly dove out of the way, this time swinging her sword behind her as she did so. She heard the sound of sharp metal hitting flesh, followed by a pained squeal, meaning her idea worked. She landed on her side and looked over to see the boar recovering from the attack. She took this as an opportunity to get back to her feet.

Now I just have to finish it off.. Jevi thought to herself as she gently brushed some of the dirt off of her clothes. She ran forward at the boar once again, creating an arch in her movements hoping to throw the boar off. As she brought her sword upward, it connected with one of the beast's white tusks. Her blade bounced off of the large tooth and she grit her teeth. She brought her arm back and thrusted the scimitar forward, hoping to pierce it through the boar's head and finish it off. Hitting the tusk yet again, the blade missed its mark, but instead pierced the boar in the shoulder region. That was good enough for now.

Jevi's sword stuck in the body of the boar, and she thought she could easily take advantage of the situation and finish the boar off without needing to make another attack. She grabbed at her blade with both of her hands as the boar tried to resist and pull away from the blade in its body. With as much force as she could muster up, she twisted her hands, the blade in the boar turning as well. She then pushed her sword in further, which was much easier to do now that the boar had gone limp. As she pulled the blade out, the boar returned to its original state; fragments of data.
