[PP-F5] Tatooine gone wrong <<Blood in the sand>> (Tristan Delaney) COMPLETE

Xion held his hand up to his face as he looked across the seemingly endless dunes before him, a sea of golden waves as far as the eye could see. "Yep this is the place" he said to nobody in particular, as he scanned the horizon once more. He had sent a player called Tristan a message to meet him at the beginning of the sand dunes on floor five, to complete the quest <<Blood in the sand>>, but so far the player had been a no show. "Where the bloody hell is he? I meant it can't be that hard to spot a six foot red head in sand dunes can it?" he said once more, as a bead of sweat trickled down his brow, he had adventured with Tristan before, but on the floor below, which was a frozen land of snow and ice, and a complete opposite to the heat of floor five. 'Man I wish I was in my shop right about now' he thought.

Tristan came across the dunes of sand, finding Xion looking rather uncomfortable in the weather. Well they just came from extreme cold and now it was sweltering heat, albeit not to the level of Floor 9. He wondered a bit then said as he came across Xion "You know if you're having trouble with temperatures, you should do the quest <<The Traveller>> to get the skill <>Survival>>. It helps deal with bad weather and makes it more uncomfortable. Anyhow, shall we get to it?" He said with a smile, looking out to the plains thinking how they should get going soon so that they can get this boss done with. It shouldn't be that hard a quest either, so was looking forward to it, if anything as easy as the Avalanche was.

Xion nodded "Yeah we should get going, and yeah I know I just haven't had time ok. Anyway I'm better prepared this time than when we faced avalanche" he said with a smile, as he and Tristan started to wander the dunes. 

 

To tell the truth Xion was nervous, the thought that this Sand shark could attack from below was more than slightly terrifying. But that's all that it was, a thought, Xion could easily take many hits from the beast and still be standing, so a surprise attack wouldn't do much to him other than maybe scare him a little.

Tristan shrugged, saying "It isn't so bad, you can usually tell from a mile away. You see a fin which protudes from the ground and it throws up a cloud of sand behind it. A bit like well..." he pointed at such a fin coming right at them, "Like that one.". The fin did come right at them but rather than attacking from under, the sand shark jumped out of the sand as though almost to greet them, only to jump back in the sand and swim around before Tristan could attack. "So er...there it is." he said awkwardly.

Xion watched in awe as the beast leaped out of the sand before diving back into it, the find still visible. "Man that is big" he said as he drew the Slicing Maelstrom, his eyes trained on the fin as it made it's way towards them and the beast's head became visible. 

 

Xion waited until the Sand shark came near him, sidestepping as it's open jaw ripped through the area of sand where he had just been. This gave Xion an opportunity to strike, he ran towards the beast, quickly stabbing it in the side before retreating, standing next to Tristan. 

 

"This'll be easier than Avalanche" he said with a grin.

Tristan did his loud <<Howl>> to get the attention of the monster, so that the hate was on him. His roar rang across the desert and probably burst a fly's eardrum somewhere. Either way, he had the attention of the monster and it was not going to get away from him. "Right, let's go to town with it." he said with a smile as he poised his spear ready to strike the foe, seeing as the Shark had totally missed attacking Tristan.

Xion watched as Tristan used the <<Howl>> ability. "Never ceases to amaze me" Xion said as the Sand shark missed Tristan completely. He than charged towards it, bringing his sword down upon the beast's back as it attempted to disappear into the sand, but was interrupted by Xion's attack as it writhed in pain, before retreating under the dunes. "And to town with it we will go!" Xion said with a chuckle.

Tristan couldn't help notice that the Hate difference was still a bit small for a his liking, so he howled again with the skill to bring a tremendous amount of aggro towards him. "Well that should keep the attention on me for a while" he said with a chuckle. The Sand Shark had once again tried to attack after Xion struck it, but missed Tristan entirely as he side stepped the bite from the Sand Shark. "Heh, missed me." he teased at the monster.

Xion watched Tristan <<Howl>> once more, and then tease the beast as it missed him completely. "You know you're strong when you can tease a field boss, zero sh*ts given" Xion said with a chuckle before going to attack the beast, but was forced to dodge as it's jaw reared up from the sand in front of him  and then clamped down suddenly, nearly taking Xion's leg off.  He frowned "Aw I thought it was going to be third time's the charm" he said with a smile as he backed off to Tristan's side.

Tristan could only smile to what Xion said, concentrating on the Sand Shark as it swam. The swimming became difficult to try and track, but eventually a opportunity presented itself to take, whereupon the shark jumped out the sand in an air dive to attack Tristan. Tristan sidestepped the attack and thrust the spear into the monsters side, piercing it and leaving a trail of a cut along the body of it, until it swam back into the sand. Well he damaged it quite a chunk for sure.

Xion watched as Tristan landed a good hit on the Beast, taking a quarter of it's health as he did. "Bravo, bravo" he said as he stepped forwards, watching the dust trail that followed the shark, his eyes trained on the fin which was barely visible. 

 

The shark swam towards Xion, and attempted to sneak attack him, it's head rearing out of the sand seconds before it would have hit Xion. The attack was easily dodged, as Xion thrust his blade into the beast's back, causing a large wound as the sword was ripped from the Shark's flesh. "A crit would be nice, then we could kill it in about 30 seconds" Xion said with a smile, as he looked at the boss's health. "Less than half to go"

Tristan smiled as Xion pointed out that they had reached the half way point with the enemies health, readying himself for the attack. However before he could attack, the Shark lunged at him in the air and Tristan dodged, the attack missing him. With the shark back in the sand though after having done that, Tristan didn't have an opening to attack with, so just had to wait again until another time presented itself.

Xion watched as Tristan narrowly dodged getting hit "Is this thing actually gonna land a hit on us?" he asked before focusing on the sand trail once more. When it got closer, Xion tried to attack the fin, seeing as it was an easy target, but as he neared the beast the sand cloud got in his eyes, clouding his vision and forced him to back off. "Well that's annoying" he mumbled to himself.

Tristan could only shrug to what Xion said, dodging the sharks attack once again. "I dont know, however them wriggling about like this is equally so making them incredibly hard to get a hit on...". Tristan was getting a bit annoyed at this boss with the trouble it was giving, but continued on anyway.

Xion nodded in agreement "We could have killed it by now but it's just so damn slippery" he said before running in for an attack, but before he could the beast jumped out of the sand, forcing Xion to jump to the side in order to avoid the attack, making him miss his window of attack.

Tristan would have said something in reply to Xion, but he found himself suddenly attacked by the Sand Shark from an angle he didn't expect, forcing him to turn around and block with his shield. Luckily he was left unharmed as the shield managed to deflect the full force of the blow, leaving them unscathed. Minor panic aside, Tristan breathed and readied himself for the next attack.

Xion watched as the Shark attacked Tristan, who was able to block and take no damage. He grinned as the beast went to leap back into the sand, leaving itself open for attack. "Perfect" Xion said with a grin as he charged towards the Shark, thrusting his blade into the Shark's stomach and watching as electricity surged into the beast, causing it to become paralyzed and limp, before he ripped his blade out of the beast. He then turned and walked to Tristan, not having to worry about being attacked as the beast was immobile. "Free shot Tristan" he said with a huge grin on his face.

Tristan smiled and said "Thanks!" then thrusted the spear right at the sand shark in its most vulnerable part, as it was paralysed so it was very to target its weakest point. The spear pierced the shark, damaging it greaty and bringing its health into the red. Tristan smiled and said "Nearly done now." with great confidence, the quest going very easy. He cracked his neck and readied to attack after Xion had.

Xion watched as Tristan landed a crit on the beast. "I think the honour shall be yours good sir" he said, before walking up to the beast, which was not just beginning to recover from paralysis. Xion quickly stabbed if, before it regained full control over it's body, leaving it with a sliver of health, a mere 3 HP. 

He smiled as he turned to Tristan "You could probably tap it and it'd die at this point" he said jokingly.

Tristan chuckled and thrust his spear at the beast, making it fall into many virtual splinters. "More like done now." he said in joking manner as the monster fell into many pixels and the name disappeared. He breathed a sigh of relief and sat down on the warm sand, unequipping his equipment so he could rest. "Well that was fun." he spoke, relaxing.
