Continuing to push his way higher and higher up the side of the mountain path he was on Mack eventually stumbled upon a bobcat that was feasting on the carcass of a dead caribou. It was clear that something far larger and scarier than a bobcat had been responsible for killing the caribou. Accelerating into a run, Mack raised Guillotine high over his head as the feline was more concerned with eating that watching its surroundings. The blade swished down into the middle of the cat's back and it yowled in a combination of rage and pain as it sprang from the ground and raked its claws across the blonde man's face. Recoiling, Mack backed off a few steps and swung his axe into a ready position to strike again.

The hissing, snarling, yowling angry mass of bobcat was not pleased at having its meal interrupted by an enormous blonde axe-wielding warrior. Not even slightly. With a feral yowling battle cry it leaped at the blonde man again. Forgoing Guillotine altogether, Mack reached out his hands and by some incredible stroke of luck he managed to catch the animal in his hands. Cocking both his arms back as if he were about to throw an inbound pass with a soccer ball, Mack lobbed the bobcat through the air. The feline sailed out into space, as majestic as an eagle. Then it kept sailing, and kept sailing, straight over the edge of the cliff. The bobcat let out a strangled yowl of rage as it plummeted down the side of the cliff to its death. Watching this scene, Mack was trying to keep a straight face. He hadn't meant to throw the animal over the side of the cliff, but it was funny. A second later, a small fang on a leather cord appeared at his feet, along with the bobcat's pelt as a crafting material.

After seeing what happened to the bobcat, and realizing that the same thing could very easily happen to him as well, Mack decided that discretion was the better part of valor and he began to scoot away from the edge of the cliff. Pushing his way into the forest he kept Guillotine at the ready, just in case. But, it seemed as if the animals for hunting were finally starting to peter out a little bit. Moving deeper into the trees, he began to look to a tree that would be suitable to try and harvest some lumber from. After nearly a quarter hour of searching, he found what he was looking for. Rolling his head around on his neck and swinging his arms a few times, Mack readied himself and then swung Guillotine into the tree. Nothing happened, not that he was surprised.

Not quite ready to be deterred so easily just because he had failed the first time, Mack stepped back from the tree and rested the blade of Guillotine on the ground with the weapon's haft resting against his leg. He knew it was harder to get the trees to give up their bounty than it was to collect crafting materials off of the abundant wildlife on each level. But, that didn't mean he was going to give up. Spitting once on the ground and narrowing his eyes at the tree the hulking blonde took up his axe once more and raised the weapon back, ready to chop at the tree. The blade sped forward, around in a fast and easy arc and it bit into the tree with a solid thunk. There was a spray of wood chips and a piece of crafting lumber fell at Mack's feet. Quickly, he picked it up and added it to his inventory.

Feeling good about having had such a quick success the first time in harvesting the lumber Mack quickly pulled back Guillotine and readied himself to chop at the tree again. With a swish the axe zipped through the air, propelled by the massive arms of the blacksmith. There was a dull thud and the blade slammed into the tree for a third time. In a wild cascade of wood chips the tree yielded its bounty once again in the form of harvestable lumber. Bending down, Mack picked up the piece of wood and examined it. Everything seemed to be in order, so he opened his inventory and added some more crafting materials to his haul for the day, all in all, this was turning out to be a very profitable morning.

When things were going this well, who was Mack to argue with a good thing. Drawing Guillotine back again, he swung the axe into the same tree. This time, not that the blonde man could say he was especially shocked, nothing happened. With a grunt, he extracted the blade of his axe from the tree and swung the it once again into the trunk. Again, nothing happened. Mack supposed that he was due for not getting anything from the tree after his good run of a moment ago. Sighing, he turned on his heel and began to make his way back toward Urbus. All in all, it had been a pretty productive morning out farming for crafting materials and he had made more than enough to cover the a few days worth of smithing attempts.
