[SP-F4] Ice-cold farming--Complete--

Zandra sat behind her lab-cart at floor two experimenting with some ingredients. When she was gonna take a mushroom from a basket she didnt find any. She looked thru her other baskets as well. Oh no, my supply is running low. I better head out getting some more. Zandra putted all tools in their respective places and closed the cart for today. Her next floor to gather materials at was floor four. The winter wonderland floor. Luckily she had just got her new armour, armour of the northern ice-dragon. Not only was it a protection to harm, it also protect against the cold. Well, at least in theory. She havent tested it yet. Well, two birds with one rock. She said to herself while walking towards the warp gate. She walked into the gate and said Snowfrost town.

When Zandra exited the warp gate in Snowfrost town she realy felt the difference in temprature. Time to test if this armour realy does protect against the cold. Zandra equipped armour of the northern ice-dragon. Imediatly it felt alot warmer. Realy comfortable actually. This stood a couple of moments to look around and scan the enviroment. A small town whose buildings all resemble cottages. It didnt matter what way she looked towards, everything was cowered with snow. Zandra have herd it never stops snowing here. Im realy lucky to have this armor. Zandra mention while start to walk away. She headed north. After a couple of minutes she spotted something in the snow, what was it...

Zandra walked towards the shining in the snow, could it be something useful. She saw a crystal node. Big enough to get three pieces. She started to mine it with the pickaxe she had brought. The first chop was a complete disaster, where she thougth she woul get a realy nice and fine piece, she missed where she had aimed and it broke in a place that make that side useless. But she could still get two nice pieces out from it on the other side. After half an hour she had two pieces laying on the ground in front of her. When she examined them closer she saw one of them was infected with tiny ice-worms. She threw it away and it shattered when hitting the ground. The one and only piece she had she putted in her inventory and started to walk again. Hopefully finding more nodes she could get crystals from.

Next place to stop for Zandra was on the side of a huge boulder. There grew, believe it or not, mushrooms. Big, ice-blue mushrooms. Ohmyohmy!! I cant wait to try out what these do in my potions. Zandra literaly threw herself to the ground and started to pick the mushrooms. She picked up the first one. It kind of shined in some strange way. When she touched it with her bare hand she felt a sting. Oh my, thats cold! After she felt how cold it was, she tried to spit on it. In the same moment the spit hitted the mushroom, it became ice. Better treat these ones carefully. But just when she was gonna put it in her inventory it tuened brown. She had no idea what was happening but she put it in the inventory anyway. Have to make some researches on that, even if I cant use it in any potions. She carefully picked two more without trouble and increased her supply with materials.

Zandra continued to pick more mushrooms. But now she wasnt as lucky. The fourth one she picked was all soft and slimy. Hew, gross. I dont even want to make researches on this one. She threw it away. There was some more here that looked better. The fifth one she picked up she was gonna hold towards the sun, but there was no sun she could see. All those snowclouds was in the way. Well, it dosent look worst then the other ones. She putted it in her inventory. When she looked at the ground again she saw there was only one mushroom left. She carefully picked it up, didnt wanted to ruin her last attempt here.

When the mushroom was safly in her inventory Zandra raised and stretched her back. I guess my goal gonna be twenty materials. Should be enough for one day. More and it would be too much. She said to herself. She started to walk again and her footprints still points north. When she left the town the wind had been calm and smooth, not much more then a breeze. Now it started to increase in strength. Zandra just continued walking, didnt cared about the weatherchange. She had spotted another node. It looked almost the same as the first so she equipped her pickaxe again. She lifted it high in the air, and let fell down at the node. When she hitted the node nothing happened, except a loud cling was ecoing in the valley. Zandra stood still until the sound had disapeared, then she tried again. Harder this time. No sound this time but a tiny piece of the crystal fell of and a small crack apeared. Thats more like it. After a few more hits the crack was big enough for a bigger piece to fall off. She putted it in her inventory and her next hit made same noice as the first one. She didnt wanted to risk anything so leaved it and continued walking.

Zandra followed the canyon for almost a kilometer. Searching the evironment for anything she could use in her potions, or make some awesome effects on her crystals. And the constant snowing didnt helped to see if there was any materials to get somewhere. Then she thougth, maybe there is something hidden under the snow. She could as well start looking on the spot she was standing. Her hands went down and up, down and up while she digged thru the snow. And just as she thougth, it was something there. When she had shoveled away all snow around it she saw a root. She looked up but couldnt see a tree anywhere. Strange, a root without a tree or bush. She didnt thougth more about it so she just equiped her dagger and started to cut of a huge piece. When it almost was loose she decided to pull the last bit. Thou it was harder then she thougth, so she grabbed it with both hands and pulled as hard as she could. With a loud SNAP! it loosened and Zandra fell backwards. Waahhh!!! She sat up and shaked the snow out of her face. She could still hear a faint echo from her scream. I better get a move on.

Zandra looked around once again to find mushrooms, crystals nodes, root or at least something! But there wasnt anything anywhere in this snowy climate. She started to move faster and didnt saw the empty spot with ice. She slipped and fell to the ground. Once again she let out a quick scream that slowly faded out in the air. Thats when she spotted another node. It was small, but it was a node. She shold be able to at least get out one crystalpiece. This time she forgot to examine the node before mining it, she raised the pickaxe and let it fall. To late she realised she didnt aimed. The pickaxe hitted a weak spot and the whole node cracked loudly. Oh my, why does everything sounds so loud here. Zandra looked around when the cracks echo didnt ended, or wait. It did ended, this was another sound. She turned around.

When Zandra turned around the area wasnt empty anymore. A huge creature was standing there. It had the shape of a one and a half meter hugh wolf. But on its head the creature had four horns, two long pointing to the sides and two shorter but sharper pointing forward, towards Zandra. The fur was as white as the snow surrounding it so it was harder to aim. Zandra pulled forth her dagger and raised right her arm with the dagger infront of her face, the left one sligthly backwards. She didnt broke eyecontact with the wolf, they both stood there, waiting for the other to make the first move. At least Zandra couldnt hold it anymore, she charged recklessly towards the wolf. The wolf easy dodge Zandras attack and tackled her with the two short horn. The armour took some damage but still two red dots apeared on Zandras stomach and she flew five meters thru the air.

Before Zandra had even stand up the wolf charged towards her again. Zandra saw the two sharp horn coming closer and closer, she wouldnt be able to stand up before them hitted her again. So she held the daggers pointy edge between her finger and thumb. Raised the arm in the air and threw the dagger. Same second she released the dagger she dodge to the side. The big wolf, blinded by the knife in one of its eye rushed passed Zandra just a few inches. Crap, now Im unarmed. Maybe it wasnt that good idea after all. Now she got time to stand up. The wolf scratched its face trying to get the dagger out of its eye. but it just dug deeper in.

Zandra frenaticaly scanned the area find a weapon. The wolf still tried to get the dagger out of his face. That mean he cant see me at the moment. Zandra thougth. Next second she strted to reush towards the crature that had her weapon. Maybe the whole couldnt see, but it still had ears to listen with. Just a few meters away it lifted its head. Zandra couldnt stop because of the momentum, but she slowed down a bit so the damage wasnt that dangerous. She turned her body to the side and squeezed her in between the horn, now she was in reach of the dagger. The dagger got pulled out of the wolf eye. In a circle it cutted him in the neck, cutted of one of his ears and pushed in in its other eye. Its healt bar turned red, and Zandras was still in the green zone.

Zandra held the creature in a tight grip around its neck. But with a forceful swing with its head she got loose of the grip and instead stood in front of. Once again they looked at each other. But this time the wolf made the first move. It jumped towards where he thougth Zandra was standing. The horn once again hitted Zandra, in the chest this time. She fell back, but still had her dagger in her hand this time. She stretched her right arm back and then swung it forward in a huge circle, building up a create moentum. The point of the dagger got in contact with the wolfs skin, pierced the skin and digged deep in the, if it wasnt virtual, flesh. It stopped in its movements a second and then exploded into thoueands of small blue-white pixels. A screen popped up and rewarded her with a material for slaying the wolf.

Zandra saw the wolf disapear. She walked to a stone nearby and sat down to rest. She was thinking back on her fights at floor one. There she had almost died against flowers with half her own health. Now with her new equipment her healthbar nearly didnt dropped at all, and her regeneration have almost bringed her back to full health again already. She opened her inventory to see how here material hunting was going. With the drop she was up to eight. Almost halfway. she said to herself while closing the screen. I wont get any more by just sitting here, guess I have to get a move on. She stood up and continued to walk in the direction she had done when the wolf attacked her. After some time she saw another of those mushroom. Carefuly she cratched the snow atound it and picked it up. Just a few feets away she saw another one and repeted the procedure. Nice, now I'm halfway.

So, now Im halfway. I have mushrooms, a root, some crystals and a piece of wolf meat. What else brew'ble can it be in this climate. Zandra said to no one particular while continueing her hunt for materials. Could there grow some kind of berries here? Nah, probably not. That was when she arrived to a lake, of course the surface was frozen solid to ice several meters down. She wouldnt be able to get anything from the lake-bottom. But th ice looks a little different then how it usualy does. What about ice then, maybe can make different potions by boiling them in water melted from this ice.

Zandra equiped her Anneal blade and started digging the on the ice. Once again, ecery hit was very loud. After a fwe minutes she didnt dared to continue in case any monster would hear it. But she got enough ice for one potion at least, thats always something.

Zandra saw some trees on the other side of the lake. Maybe the ice is thiner further out. But its to far to walk all the way around. She decided to chanse. Even after all her balance-training during her acrobatic trainings, she was close to fall more then once on the slippery surface of the ice. But she made all the way to the other side without any troubles. When she reached the tree she had seen from the other side she started to inspect it. If it would be possible to get any good ingredients out from it. She saw that the ten furthest centimeter of the branches was more green-ish and softer. She bringed forth her anneal blade again and carefully cutted of two pieces.

When Zandra turned around from the tree she saw another one not to far away. She headed towards it, hoping to find more branches. And the snow continued to fall. Every step she took made a big footprint in the snow. If someone was tracking her, they wouldnt have a very hard job. As long as they saw the footprint before it was covered with snow again. Like the previous tree, this one had ash-grey bark. Not a singel leaf nor any needles. The branshes was turned and twisted in a way like those cherry-blossom trees. She reached out for one of the branch-end and when she was gonna cut it off, it broke half a meter further down. The whole pieces cracked when it fell down in the snow. Lickily she got that ten centimeter piece on the tip of the bransh, and she putted it in her inventory.

The temprature started to drop, and at the same time the snowing increased. Now it limited her lenght of sight. She could still see about a kilometer away, but if this was gonna continue, she would almost not be able to see a few meters away. Then when it starts to be realy dengarous around here. Probably all mobs living here had no problems with the snow, neither freesing or seeing. She had already lost one of her senses, the smell. Her nose felt like an ice-cube and she couldnt smell anything except coldness. She probably should head back home now. She opened her inventory to see how many materials she. Only fourteen. She had decided to get twenty before turning home. She looked around and her spirit fell when she couldnt see anything that would be good.

Zadra kept looking while the snowing got even more intence. The snowflakes was so sharp they almost cutted thru her skin. It felt like thousand needles was pressed against her face. Not only the snowing had increased, it have also started to blow. ''Now I must head back, or I will be cought in this blizzard. The wind was so strong it made noices around her. No, that wasnt the wind. There was a creature out there, watching her. She tried to watch it but couldnt see anything except the snow. To be on the safe side she equipped her dagger. She wouldnt not be attacked off-guard and unarmed. She actually hoped the creature out there would come fourth, in that way she would be able to get more materials.

She herd something coming towards her. It sounded like something big with four legs was running towards her. Then she saw a shadow, it looked like a wolf, but it was bigger. Anyway, every creature here is an enemy. She rushed towards the wolf. With a powerful uppercut she buried the dagger in the wolfs chest. But at the same time the wolf had tackled her and she fell to the ground with a powerful jaw holding her arm in a tigth grip. She felt the sting from fifty razorsharp fangs. Behind the wolf she saw another shadow flying theu the air. If the wolf hadnt tackled her she would have been taken by that one.

The wolf was still on top of her. His front legs pushing at her chest, stopped her from stand up. Still she tried to rise, but the wolf pressed her down and started biting her left shoulder. Zandra felt her armour taking most of the damage, but some pain slipped thru. Still, not a single ouch slipt out from her mouth. She still had her dagger, and in her right arm was even better. She made powerful stab in the wolfs side. The wolfs healthbar dropped down another third. Then she felt a sting in her right leg. The armour took the most of the damage this time as well, but this time an ouch came out from her mouth. She had totaly forgot about the other creature.
