[SP-F2] Testing of Sword Skills (Complete)

Recommended Posts

Rebekah picked out a random floor and decided to visit it. She had not tested out any sword arts or done any training since the new update, and she knew that it would be important to see how strong her grandmaster rapier can take her. Since the new update she had not done any combat and now would be the time to do so, under an somewhat easy environment before she faces the boss. She did not want to be that player who knew nothing about how to fight during the battle, as that was the last thing she wanted to be. A liability. She had seen others being stupid in fights, and one thing she had always strived was to become one of the top female players in this game. That was her goal. The blonde made sure nobody else was on this floor before continuing as she did not want anyone to see her training hard in preparation. This was something that she had to do alone.

As Rebekah took a step out into the woodlands, her attention fell on the spider that was in front of her. She detested spiders, and immediately took out her rapier, and she knew that she had to make quick work of this spider. As she turned to face it, there was nothing else she could ask for except for some easy training today. She knew she was not going to be in any danger, a player who has been in two floor raids as well as on the front lines has seen a lot more worse than this, so this should not be a problem for her. However, all this activation of sword skills seem rather unnatural for her, as she did not know how to activate it on her first attempt. Luckily for her the spider also failed at its attack, allowing her time to get used to how sword skills work.

If it did not work the first time, she knew that she had to try again until it worked. She was uncomfortable with what she did, but she pointed her rapier at the spider in front of her. She knew that she could kill it easily, but the question was she had to try out different types of skills today, and everyone was already on the advance onces, while she could not get a simple sword art to work for her. This was depressing to struggle but she knew that if she just changed her position slightly, and raise her weapon higher, maybe she will figure out what to do. She tried the skill crucification, as the spider was killed instantly in front of her. She looked and realized that it had been a long time since she was able to one hit kill a monster for materials. She was shocked at the result of what had just happened.

That was way too easy for the girl, as she turned to continue walking to the forest alone. There was nobody else around, and that had suited her a lot. Nobody was going to come and disturb her which allowed her an unparalleled amount of free time to continue finding another monster around. There was nothing wrong with waiting until something else came around, as she also needed her energy to regenerate. Maybe she will find something useful in this forest, an item or two. She continued to look around her walking down the path, until she found something interesting. A tree trunk, but was there anything inside? Nope, nothing was inside.

Rebekah took a second to look around before picking a direction to follow, she wanted some honey, and knew that she was out looking for some bees. She knew they had to be around here somewhere, since she could smell the sweetness of the honey nearby. As she got closer, she arrived at her destination, and she looked up to see a bee hive right in front of her. But the giant queen bee had woken up, and now was angry that she was here to take some of that precious honey. However, the bee was too fast as she missed and the bee had already poked her from the back, which she managed to block most of the damage with her shield.

That was a mistake, and she knew that she was going to limit herself to one mistake her battle. She had only landed her swordskill just once out of three attempts today, but that was why she was practicing here today. She also wanted to collect the materials, but that was not that important compared to her combat skill. As she faced the flying bee once again, there has to be a way to catch it somewhere in the air, and launched her crucification skill once again. It was the only skill that she had learned so far, and she needed to perfect it before moving on. After all, she was still a grandmaster at her rapier skill, something that was very important to her, was her rapier.

Now, this was her time to look at the bee hive that the queen bee was trying to desperately defend but to no avail. Was she hiding something strong inside or was it just something worthless. It was the moment of truth that the girl had been waiting for. These were the problems in these searches in the forest, nobody knew what they were going to find, and she was going to be shocked. Whether this was going to be good news, or bad, was anyone's guess. There was nothing inside, so she assumed the bee was upset that someone had stolen all the honey, and attempted to fight her thinking she was the culprit, but she did not have honey on her. Nevertheless, this issue had been settled, albeit a bit disappointing, but she knew she had to continue.

Moving forward, she knew that she was not going to have to fight every monster guarding something, as that would be a total waste of time. As she turned and looked around, she did not know where she was headed, but she continue to aimlessly walk around. Rebekah had all the mapping data, so she was not going to get lost per say, but it was backup. She did not have a teleportation crystal, which was going to be a problem in the near future. As she turned to continue walking, she waited until the coast was clear to avoid any monsters. Even though she was way stronger, avoiding them was a better option in most cases, especially if she did not want to attract any unwanted attention. The last thing she wanted was to face a swarm of monsters.

Rebekah continued to walk as it was going to take a while. There was a slight problem which was she was not going to find monsters to fight at this rate, and had to continue challenging random monsters she sees in the wild. It took a long time for her to find something that was not too weak, since this was the 2nd floor for a reason. This gave her trouble finding the right one that will actually grant not only experience but also a reward for the battle. It was the biggest problem she faced, while she could go to the 11th floor, fighting here was safe for her, as nothing is going to be that much stronger than her here.

As her energy restored to max, it was now time for her to fight once again, and the nearest monster she found was a butterfly. Her dislike of insects was apparent and she as well disliked them since they used to be a caterpillar. Even though they look all nice and pretty, she needed to defeat it, and without much thought she began to activate another of her swordskills, hoping to land over fifty percent of her Crucifixion strikes. She had landed it once more, and it had been three out of the last five strikes that she had made it work so far. She wondered if she was strong enough to have a higher accuracy, but she knew practice makes perfect.

This was getting too easy, and the girl knew that she had to raise the difficulty up soon, before there was nothing else to fight in the forest. She knew that there were going to find some sort of animal, something big or small, but she eventually spotted it in front of her. A giant werewolf. Rebekah did not like wolves in general, and she was ready to take it on, when she saw two of them in front of her. This was going to make things a lot more interesting, as instead of 1 wolf to contend with, there were two of them, and they were stronger than the butterfly. Rebekah tried out her strongest AOE attack, sweep, which was weak, but enabled her to strike both at once.

While that struck both of them at once, she felt that the attack was a bit underwhelming, as she could hit better combos than that hit. As a result, she knew that she was going to focus on taking out one of the wolves first. It was going to be interesting, not because she was strong, but because of the opportunity that this was going to give her. As she waited for the right moment, the girl knew that it was now or never to strike the wolves. Both wolves landed their attacks, but she was also able to land a critical as well, thus nullifying their attacks. Besides she was willing to allow the wolf to scratch her with its paws in order to allow her to trade an attack, a critical.

The girl had dropped to about half of her her energy, and she knew that she was going to have to start conserving it from here on out. That was a challenge for her, but it meant that she was going to have to stop fighting every monster that she finds out here. There was no other way around this, since she did not know what can regenerate her energy, other than it passively increases out of combat. It was going to give her some trouble, but it was not something impossible. She knew that as long as she had kept trying, it would not be a problem for the blonde. She was stronger than anything found here, for a reason. She took another swing, and killed the wolf with ease. Now it was time for her to heal up that energy.

Those battles have drained her health, and now it was time for her to heal up before continuing. The girl found a fallen log nearby and sat down, as she wanted to know how fast she was going to naturally regenerate. She was not lost per say, but she wanted to take a look around at her surroundings before picking on a direction to head towards. Here she was, one of the strongest players having no idea where she was going to go. The main thing today for her was to go fight monsters and find materials that was going to be off use to her. She looked around and found a mat right beside her, so she picked it up before anything else.

The girl stood up after a few minutes, and started moving again. If she was going to stand there, it was going to take her forever, until she reached her destination. As a result, there was no point in resting for a bit, as she could let the rest of health regenerate as she walked. Besides, she had more than enough now to deal with things if there was an emergency. As she continued, she knew that there was going to be a chance that something unexpected popped up, but her goal is to avoid fighting for at least the next bit. She started to walk towards the town, fully knowing that it will take her at least an hour and half to get back, which would give her ample amount of time to hunt, if she walked back slowly enough. The goal was to make it back to the the town before darkness fell, since she did not prepare to stay overnight tonight.

It had taken a while, but she was finally all healed up from her last encounter with a boss. This was one of the things that she needed to take into consideration in the future, how long it would take to get back to normal out of combat, and how to conserve her energy. She noticed that she was a heavy energy user when fighting, and that was going to run out eventually. She needed to save up in case there was going to be a battle, especially if she was going to head into a fight without prior planning. That was what she needed to do, to conserve and to save whatever she had. The other option is to grow her levels quickly, so that she does not run out of energy at all, that way she would not have to worry about the usage, but the first method was probably better overall. There was only so much she can grow her levels, and not everyone can be that strong.

Now that she was completely all healed up, she continued to walk and this time, she had saw another giant bear in front of her. This was going to be fun, as it was now time to test out her new swordskills. The bear was giant, but she figured like all monsters, they do not hit hard on this floor, which was going to give her an advantage, nonetheless. This was her opportunity to fight something stronger, and show off one of her stronger combos. Besides, what fun was it to launch a mediocre combo at weak monsters, but now that she got the art of making one down, it was time for the harder ones. She launched her strongest rank 5 overradiation swordskill, only to see that the majority of the bear's health was taken out with 1 strike, an 11 hit combo. But there was just a tiny bit of health remaining, which was going to prove to be annoying to finish off the rest.

There was only one problem with the new combat system, which was the girl had completely lost her evasion. She had put herself countless times in vulnerable positions which leads to disasters as a result of her weaken evasion, but also found herself able to hit a lot better as a result. It was a tradeoff, and until she learns to evade better, this will be difficult for her, but she knew that everything she does is for a reason. She just need to figure out why and what she could do to fix this problem. Part of this is to get more experience for combat in the new system, which was what she was doing here today. If there was ever a problem, as she could only improve herself and not what others think of her, and how she should be fighting.

That bear had drained much of her power and she needed to recharge herself before she could continued. The girl wondered what she could do now, since it takes quite a while to regenerate that amount of energy. The only thing that she managed to come up with in her mind, was to heal herself. Since, there was nothing else that could be done, the blonde might as well continue searching for mats. It was the only thing that could be done for her, and she knew she better hurry before anything else happens around here. As she continued to walk forward, she knew that this was the hard part, it was hard to randomly point at a random object and call it a material, it had to be somewhat of use to her. She thought about it before continuing her journey down the path, and she knew it was going to take a while before anything happened.

While it might have taken other players forever to stay at one place, she knew now was the time for her to continue and move on. There was no point staying in a place where no materials can be found, which meant some other player was here recently and it has not respawned in the wild. The respawn times vary, and it was difficult to account for, but there were usually decent estimations based on the strength but also the rarity of the item found. For her case, she was just looking at basic common everyday ingredients that could prove useful to a chef, and she wondered what she should make today. However, that was largely dependent on the ingredients that was given, and she could only do as best as the ingredients, after all there was so much she could do to make a poor ingredient good.
