[PP-F1] Brothers in Arms - Round 2 (Endilix) - Complete!

Ready for another training session, Emerath had summoned his brother yet again. This time, he left out the bit about the duel. They needed to focus this time. They needed to focus on training and fighting. And now that Endilix had proper armor, he figured they could do that. Emerath would actually heal while Endilix took on the monsters, potentially jumping in when his brother got tired. However it happened, Emerath was ready. Having all the good things that had happened to them recently had given him quite a burst of energy as well, and Emerath felt like he was ready to see how first aid actually performed in the field.

Emerath stared out at the fields, watching boars roam around, wondering idly how long it would take his brother to actually show up.

Endilix found his brother and walked up to him in the fields. Here they were again, ready to take on what Aincrad had to offer them in terms of combat. As he reached his brother, he put an armored hand on his shoulder and smiled at him. "Well, here we are again. I didn't see anything about a duel, so I suppose today is just a kill monsters day." He chuckled a bit and readied his shield and warhammer, already knowing the answer. He started off into the fields, looking over his shoulder at his brother, "Well, let's get started then. The more boars we kill, the better off we'll be, right?"

Endilix spotted a large boar in the field and made a charge at it, giving a loud battle cry as he did so. He had just reached it and was ready to slam his hammer down when the boar gave him a solid back kick to the chest. Thankfully, Endilix's armor took the brunt of the blow as he staggered backwards, his hammer no longer poised to strike. Not off to the best start on this one.

Emerath was ready to do the First Aid thing. He had been preparing for this for quite some time and it was time. Emerath dug around in his pouch and pulled out some bandages, and then some simple herbs, as he began to mix the herbs together in his mortar and pestle. He watched his brother take the hit, and that's exactly what Emerath was here for. But then Emerath got nervous as the boar seemed to momentarily turn its attention to him, and Emerath fumbled with his mortar and pestle and it and the herbs inside fell to the ground. As Emerath fumbled to pick it up, Endilix appeared to already be ready for the next attack.

Endilix had hefted his hammer high, and this time he prepared a proper strike on the boar with a sword art. Endilix rushed forward at the creature and slammed his hammer into the snout of the boar twice. It wasn't massive damage, but he saw the HP bar of the boar move enough to make him happy. Not only that, but it appeared as if the force of the blow seemed to stop the boar in its tracks. The boar gave a loud grunt but it was paralyzed and all it could do was squeal. Endilix couldn't help but give a bit of a grin. He was liking this.

After watching Endilix smash the boar, he told him self he wouldn't screw it up this time at healing his brother. He was having trouble though, as he continued trying to mix the herbs, but kept getting nervous and nearly dropping the mortar and pestle. "Ugh, this isn't working!" Emerath shouted in frustration as he just couldn't seem to get what he felt would be a proper result to actually provide healing. But Emerath was still knew at this, and he knew that. Emerath thought he might just try using the bandages, but as he began to pull some from the roll, Endilix was already ready to go again. Emerath just gave a sigh at himself.

Endilix had been circling the boar for the next attack once it had recovered from the paralyzed state. As he saw the debuff fade, Endilix ran in for another charge at the boar and smacked it hard on the side, attempting to catch it off guard from another head blow. But the side of the boar was tough, and Endilix saw that he only barely moved the HP bar of the mob. He grumbled, but he hadn't realized he had overextended himself with the attack, as the boar sliced him across the chest with a tusk. Endilix grumbled even more as he leapt backwards to get out of range of the monster. As he saw his health bar tick away little by little, Endilix called over to his brother and said, "Aren't you supposed to be healing me?!"

Emerath had still been fumbling around when he heard his brother call out to him, essentially asking him what he was doing. Emerath growled a bit as he furiously mixed the herbs he had been working on and then took them and smeared them on the bandages he had been holding onto. He ran up to his brother as he leapt away from the boar, and said, "Look, I'm new at this. Just cut me some slack!" He wrapped the bandages around Endilix's chest, where the boar had sliced him. He smiled when his brother's HP recovered a point, and the bandages disappeared, just like that. Emerath, feeling better about the situation, took a step back and patted his brother on the back, sending him in for another round.

Endilix was glad that his brother was actually getting the hang of the healing thing, even if it wasn't exactly all that useful yet. But he would get there, just like Endilix would. With the bandages faded away and his HP up a point, Endilix made a charge for the boar. He gave a battle cry and slammed his hammer into the ground with a huff as the boar easily sidestepped him. He seemed to have more success with the horizontal attacks than the vertical ones against this creature. In response, the boar slashed Endilix across the chest with his tusk again, and Endilix went staggering back to his brother. He looked over his shoulder at him and said, "Well, guess we're back to where I started."

As Endilix got knocked back into him, Emerath realized that the boar wasn't really doing enough damage to justify Emerath just standing around like a silly little healer and fumbling around. He needed to get into the fight. Emerath took a combat stance, and his hands began to glow as he suddenly flashed forward, both his fists firmly striking the boar in the snout. It gave a squeal and quickly reared away from what it considered a new combatant. It huffed, it's beady little eyes still focused on Endilix as Emerath took a step back, letting his brother go in for another attack of his own.

Endilix was a bit surprised as his brother seemed to abandon his healing notions and decide to strike the boar. He was also a bit surprised by the nice chunk of health that his brother was able to take out of the boar. He had to admit, his brother knew his stuff in both first aid and combat. But, given his distraction, he wasn't quite as ready to attack himself, as he ran in for a swing and it missed wildly. He groaned as he fell to a knee from the heavy swing missing its mark entirely, but thankfully the boar seemed just as off balance as it had made a charge as Endilix had made his swing, causing them both to miss. Endilix huffed and stood back up, turning to his brother on the other side of the boar now.

Emerath watched his brother essentially act as a massive distraction, as him and the boar flailed about at each other. Emerath couldn't help but chuckle a bit, though this elicited a frown from Endilix. The boar was facing away from him though, thanks to his brother, and that made for a nearly perfect attack, as Emerath's fists began to glow once again, before he leapt forward, striking the boar hard in the rump with his fists with a solid one-two. The boar's eyes flashed at Emerath as he took a step back, watching the boar's health bar drop significantly once again. He gave a bit of a huff, and smiled at his brother, as the boar turned to face his true target once again.

Endilix was a bit awed by his brother's combat prowess. Not only did he beat him in the duel last time, but now he was outdoing him with the boar here as well. At this rate, he would never catch up to his brother. Seemed like for every step Endilix took forward, his brother took two more. In a bit of a frenzy at these thoughts, Endilix rushed forward at the boar, and his hammer slammed down. once the dust settled though, him and the boar were both just staring at each other with the hammer lodged into the ground next to it. Emerath growled, and the boar squealed, as it made a rush towards him. Endilix rolled quickly to the side, dodging the blow, as he took note of how tired this had made him. He huffed and turned back to Emerath, "I'm out of Energy..." Endilix knelt down on one knee as he watched the boar, attempting to catch his breath.

Emerath had been hitting the boar pretty hard, and as such didn't want to risk any further confrontation with the beast until Endilix could catch his breath. He ran up to his brother, and put a hand on him. He wasn't able to restore his energy, but he could certainly help him out with his health. He reached into his pouch for his bandages, but realized that he had dropped them when he had begun to attack. Emerath sighed, and made a break for them. He rolled over them to pick them up, and began to pull on them to ready himself to heal his brother, but by then, the boar was headed in for another attack. Emerath cursed himself and began to run towards his brother again.

Endilix had his hammer in the dirt and was leaning on it as he knelt down. He felt his brother come over, and was expecting heals, but none came as Emerath ran off again. He had been so distracted by his brother that he hadn't noticed the boar rush in for another charge, and only had just enough time to raise up his shield to block the blow from the animal. He gave a grunt as they collided, and he rolled off to the side in the dirt as his health bar moved slightly. He groaned as he lay on the ground. He didn't get up and attack the boar in return, he just tried to recuperate himself for the next attack.

Emerath ran over to his brother after he got hit by the boar and slid onto his knees next to him. He had his bandages at the ready this time, but Endilix didn't seem to be moving. Endilix, I can't heal you if I can't get the bandages around you... he thought to himself as he tried to move his brother. He tried to lift him up so he could get the bandages around him and heal him, but his brother seemed too exhausted to move and Emerath couldn't hold his brother up and wrap him up in bandages at the same time. Emerath gave a sigh as he looked to the boar again. It was running a hoof across the ground and lowering its head for another charge. "Endilix, it's coming again, get ready!" Emerath shouted as he jumped to his feet and backed away.

He had begun to regain some energy, before the boar got within range with its charge. Suddenly, Endilix swung his hammer upwards from the ground, smacking the boar upside the head and causing it to go reeling, even though the hit itself moved the HP bar of the beast minimally. He huffed and rolled onto his side, before moving himself to a knee again, looking over at the boar laying in the dirt. Slowly, it began to rise itself, as it gave a loud squeal at Endilix.

Emerath was finally in a position to actually heal his brother, and he pulled some bandages free of the roll as he knelt down beside him. He began to wrap him up in the bandages as he had done before, only this time nothing happened. Emerath stared at the bandages, waiting for them to fade and for Endilix's health to tick back up, but nothing happened. That was when Emerath remembered the herbs in his pouch. The herbs were the healing ingredient he needed to make the first aid skill work. He cursed himself and his ineptitude as Endilix and the boar seemed to prepare for another strike. Endilix was still wrapped up in the bandages, and now just looked a bit like a wounded combatant. Too bad this isn't a human enemy. They might've taken pity on him looking battered and eased up. But not an animal.

Endilix and the boar both prepared themselves for their next clash. Endilix had been letting his brother do his thing, but not much seemed to be coming from it. Endilix was getting tired of fighting this boar, all things considered. It was almost dead but it just wouldn't die thanks to the tough hide of the animal. If not for that, this might've been over ages ago. Endilix gave a frustrated grunt, and the boar did the same as they each charged at each other. Endilix gave a battle cry as the boar slammed into his shield. He managed to deflect the blow entirely, taking the brunt of the tusks against the steel plate on his arm and shoving the boar away for no damage. He made an attempt to swing at the animal, but his shield arm had been faster than his hammer arm, and the boar just seemed mildly annoyed. Endilix rolled his shoulders. This was seriously getting ridiculous at this point.

Emerath was trying to compose himself from how this battle was going. It seemed that nobody was making any form of headway, including himself. Neither Endilix or the boar seemed to be able to score a hit, and Emerath couldn't heal his brother. Emerath grunted and pulled some herbs from his pouch. He crushed them up in his hand and then put them into his mortar and pestle to crush even more. As he did so, he realized that the faster he tried to do it, the longer it seemed to take. So he steadied his hands and his breath as he watched Endilix and the boar go in for another attack. I'll be ready next time.

Endilix found himself back on one knee again. This fight had gone on far too long, and Endilix was utterly exhausted. It's not that the boar was hard, or did all that much damage. The thing was just so hard to hit. So hard to kill. Endilix huffed again as he got to his feet, and readied himself for the boar's next strike. But the boar came harder at him than it had ever before, and Endilix had only just managed to get his shield up in time as it smashed against him. Endilix went flying backwards into the dirt and felt his head slam against the ground. Despite that his HP bar only moved slightly thanks to his block, he still felt more wounded than ever. Perhaps that was just his pride.
