Zandra was slowly but surely running out of materials, again... Then its time to head out to get some then. She stretch her body, reequiping her town clothing, a red skirt with suspender, a brown t'shirt and a red hood with a scarf attached to it. She now instead was wearing a heavy metal armour. Almost completly made of plates, except at the stomach, there she had scale mail, that way she could move much more agile, turning her torso that would otherwise be impossible with full plate everywhere. She also equiped her dagger, claw of the northern ice-dragon. This daagger had served her well in many battles. And now it was time again. Thou she wasnt gonna engage any hard enemys, just some weaker mobs. That way farming went much faster and smoother.

She have now exited her shop to go looking for enemies. Last time she was hunting down boars at first floor, what would be better then hunting on floor two today then. Go into the woods. That could be fun, do some exploring ey? She walked to the warp plaza, entering the gate and said the name of the town she was going to.''Urbus!''. A blue shine and moments later she stepped out of the gate on floor two. This time she didnt cared about looking at the architecture or anything else, she headed straigth to the forest to search for some pray to hunt down. But before that, she was gonna see if there was anything the forest had to offer her. She kneeled down at a bush, but it was already someone that have been here and emptied it.

Well well, time to go look for something else then. While walking she passed another bush. Hopefully she had more luck here. She walked towards the bush, the closer she got, the more berries did she saw. When she was at the bush she kneeled down again to pick some of them. The berries had a deep purple colour and was the size of blueberries. The leafs faschinated her, they was almost black and looked sticky, but when she touched them they was as smooth as silk. But back to the berries. When she had picked a bunch of them, enough for one potion, she placed them in her supply bag so they wouldnt lose their quality during the journey, hoopefully there was gonna be some respawned berries when she pass this on way back.

She stood up, strange that she havent seen any creatures yet. Maybe they was afraid of her. But she saw something else, something or someone that was walking around a few meters in front of her. When she got closer she saw it was an NPC. She walked towards it, was it a secret quest?''Hi, can I help you?''the NPC turned towards Zandra when she herd her voice.''Oh yes, Im in need of some apples, but my tree is deep in the forest, and Im to weak to go there alone, and afraid of the wolfs that is lurking around. If you help me to get to the tree, you will get half of the apples.'' That sounded to good to be true for Zandra. She would be able to combine the quest with what she was here for.

The NPC pointed at which direction the apple tree was. That she was so lucky that she would find a material earning quest right when she was on material hunt. At the start, the trip went on smoothly, no wolfs that interrupted their path. But Zandra wanted to know more about this apple tree, why was it so deep in the forest? Why was it sppecial? Was it special at all? She said all these questions to the woman, but she remained silenced. Thats when Zandra spotted something ahead of them, was it an apple-tree? She rushed forth to see, maybe it was the one the woman was talking about, Zandra was ready to strike down any wolf that would be lurking around. But no was there, and the woman just passed the tree, must be wrong spot then.

So, they have passed the first tree. Zandra asked the woman again, the same questions. This time she answered.''For many years ago, when I was a little kid, me and my family lived in the depth of the forest. One day I got an apple from my father that he had bougth in a shop when he visited the town. He told me to plant the seed so one day, it would grow up to a tree and I would be able to have as many apples as I wanted. The apple was delicious, I ate every single piece of it, except the seeds. Those I took a quick walk from our house and planted in the ground. Every day I went back to see if it had started to grow, if something at all was visible.''

They continued their walk. The woman has been quiet for awhile after her abrupt ending of the story. Now she continued.''It took several weeks before I could see something. But then, on day fiftyseven, I saw a little piece of it pointing up from the earth. I was so happy that day. Finaly my tree had started to grow. I rushed back to the house to tell my parents about it. But when I saw it, my father stood there with a tripod, pointing at something I couldnt see. He told me to stop and walk away, hurry to town. My mother stood behind my father. I wondered why if she didnt ran if I would. Thats when I herd the growling and saw that several wolfs had surronded them.''

After she had finished her story Zandra looked at the womn, feeling sorry of her, thou probably nothing was true, it was just what she was programmed to say. Thats when she herd a growling ahead. She dpulled forth her dagger, prepared for any enemy that would attack them. Out of the bushes jumped four angry wolfs. They showed their teeths towards her. Zandra, that had met harder enemies just concentrated and activated her consentration skill, as well as her Round accel sword art. The wolfs rushed forwards, but Zandra was faster, she was always on her way towards them, when ready she released her sword skill, making red stripes on all of them and their Health drop from full to null.

Zandra saw the wolfs empty healthbar disapear as each of them exploded into hundreds of white and blue pixels. A reward screen poped up. It rewarded her with four more materials. With a smile on her face she placed them in her Supply bag, so they would keep their quiality until she got back home and could use them. She wondered what kinds of potions she would brew with these ones. Thats when she realised she wasnt alone. The female NPC that had been standing still during the short one-sided fight had now started to walk again. Zandra putted away her dagger and took a few quick steps to get back to her side, the two females continued their walk deeper into the forest.

They continued their walk deeper into the forest. How far would they go to reach this apple tree that meant so much for this NPC. Well well, hopefully they would engage somemore wolfs on their way there. She could always use some materials wouldnt she? There was no sign on the NPC's face to show what she felt right now. Was she excited to finaly see a tree that she planted as a child, or woud she break down when seeing the place where her parents died. Zandra couls only guess. She putted her hands behond her head and looked upwards. The sun was standing right above them now, that meant its midday. Was they gonna walk until it turned dark?

Zandra have never been this deep in this forest. Not that she was scared or something, she just didnt recognized anything familiar. Like they passed a realy huge tree, it was curtain to leave a mark on anyones memory, but she could remember she have even herd of, the less seen it with her own eyes. There was another cool treefenomenon, there was two trees that have growed diaginaly, ten meters up in the air they met and have grewed into each other, making something looking almost like a gate. The tree wasnt only big and had unusual formations, they also was sending out a feeling, she couldnt describe it, but something between scary and happy, but more to the happy way.

Zandra started to get tired of walking in complete silence, the NPC didnt uttered a word after telling her story about the tree. Even when Zandra several times have tried to talk about something. Guess this was one of the downsides with adventuring with an NPC instead of a real player. She remembered her adventures with her friends, like Jomei and Macradon. Then it didnt mattered how long time they was out in the field. They had never a boring time. Yes it was better for her material hunt this way, since she could consentrate on only that and not beeing distracted with the feeling of having fun. That she would never feel with adventuring with an NPC, well, at least not this one.

When they walked on the path leading deeper and deeper into the forest, they herd another growling sound. Was it more wolfs that would block their path? Yes it was, another pack of four wolfs jumped out of the bushes. Zandra didnt hesitated, she charged up her Round Accel and rushed forwards, making several red stripes on these wolfs as well. They was jumping towards her while their HP's dropped down. Just when they was gonna hit her they exploded into pixels. Zandra, as so many times before, bathed in a sea of shining pixels from dead mobs. She remebered when she was fighting the ice-elementals on floor four, then she bathed alot.

The pixels that had appeared when the wolfs died was slowly fading away. She took a deep breath when the reward screen poped up. She had gotten another twenty materials. This was great. Of course not as effective as Ssendoms material gatherings, but she couldnt do like he do since she was working more on support and didnt had any offensive power, that beeing her sword art. And dagger had only one area attack sword art, and that was very weak. Just enough to one hit these very very low leveled creatures. She threw her dagger high in the air, saw it twirling several laps, and then the hilt landing back in her open hand. She putted it back at the belt around her waist.

So they continued thru the woods. Time for another silent walk beside the sad NPC. She was getting crazy. Almost wanted to be alone more then with this woman. Then they suddenly was surronded by another pack of wolves. A smiled appeared on her face, time to go to work ey? She charged her AoE sword art Round Accel, when it was fully charged she let it go, the wolves havent got a chanse this time either.''They never learn hehe.'' Said Zandra while she was taking another bath in white and blue pixels. So now have she slayed twelve wolves already, seemed that the woman did right to want help to escort her. Zandra felt good, they shouldnt be far from the tree now.

Once again she had taken a bath, pixels fading away slowly. Her reward this time was four materials as well. More then a dozen now. Only five more to beat her last record. She closed the reward screen to continue the walk. But the woman was standing completly still and silent.''Come on now, the wolves are dead, we better continue or else we wont get back before darkness gonna fall.'' The woman still stood still. Was it a bug. Then without warning she started to walk again. Yeah, probably a bug. So they continued their journey forward, she threw a look in her supply bag and smiled, she would be able to make many potions from these, they would last almost two days.

They continued their silence walk thru the forest, side by side, mouth shut. Zandra was almost bored to death.''It seems you dosent like my company traveler.''the npc suddenly said to Zandra, well, must have been to her becuase there wasnt anyone else around.''Nonono, not at all. Its just that I thougth we would have reached tha da.. that apple tree by now. I didnt expected it to be so deep inside the forest.''when she had finished the NPC actually answered this time.''Of course it must be deep inside the forest, otherwise anyone could have found it, even by not searching for it. And whats the point of having a secret apple-tree if there is easy to get to it. Thats why the wolfes lurks around here as well.''

''The high level players is busy on higher floors since its not very rewarding down here, and these wolfes are enough to hold any low levelplayers away from the tree, you see a perfect plan.'' Zandra had to admit it was pretty cleaver. Then she thougth about herself that, she wasnt a high level player, but not that low either.''What about those like me, to be honest, these wolfes are no match for me. And I travel here to find materials, so its not that unlikely I would walk by that tree of yours by 'mistake', dont you think?'' the woman seemed to think about it.''Yes youre right. But I guess I just have to hope for the best then, that you walk pass it without realising there is something there.''

The NPC pointed.''There, the tree is behind those trees over there.'' They both took it carefully since they her a noice from there. Zandra took forth her dagger.''Wait here, I will clear out any enemies, I give you a signal when its safe.'' Zandra rushed out, right in the middle of another pack of wolves. On her way out she had charged up her Round Accel, now she just waited for them to jump towards her so they got in range. When they did so she released her sword art, cutting down every single one of the four wolves. They exploded into hundreds of white pixels, Zandra taking another bath. She putted back her dagger at her waist and saw the reward screen gave her four more materials.

Zandra gave a signal that the woman could come forth now. She appeared from behind the tree. When she saw the apple-tree she looked at it.''Its just how I remembered it. So, can you help me pick the apples now?'' the NPC didnt waited for answer, she just started to pick. The apples on the tree was big and red and looked delicious. She had to fight her will that wanted to take a scew. After half an hour the tree was empty of apple, all the red fruit was in the womans basket. Zandra had no memory of seeing that basket when they was walking here, well, its a game. Weirder things can happen. Then she spotted yet another apple.''Wait, there is one more.'' she streatched up, picked it and placed it in the basket.'Time to head back to town.''
