[SP-F1] Zandras lonely journey part 1-COMPLETE-

Recommended Posts

Zandra was standing at her cart at the marketplace on floor one. She have been in the game for several weeks now. She had slowly started to forget about the real world where she once lived in. No, she didnt lived in the real world, she have never done it. She had lived in the world of video games, and mainly MMO's. Yes, she had enjoyed single player games like assassins creed, car games, the harry potter series. But when she would never forget when she played her first MMO. It was a game with cartoon made characters. There was several different stories that you could follow, making quest to advance. There was those event

only awarded items, she had tons of them. When showing them to others they asked where they can get it. And Zandra just answered 'You cant'. That was some realy great moments. It was quite egoistic she knew that. But she could never brag about anything at all outside the games. In the games she got a complete new status. Thats when she started to evolve to a video games addicted, or more precisly, an MMO-addicted. Her room that first have been consisting of a medium quality computer with a single 14'' screen, slowly turned out to be a much heavier hardware, her screens got more and bigger. She

upgraded her internet to be the best availble at the market. All her money went to those things. She didnt do any of those things normal persons do, she never went to the amusement park or zoo. She rarely eated something from restaurants, since its cheaper to buy ingredients and make your own food. Traveling to another land she did sometimes thou, but always for big convents and such for different MMO game releases. But there was a game that she fell in love with it. The game was something else, one of the main things she liked with it was that you could move while doing your attacks. There was only some high level spells

and skills that made you stay on the spot for a few seconds. But compared to her previous games, where you stand still on the same spot and pressing buttons, it wasnt as thrilling as this. Here the environment made a huge different as well. If you cant see someone, you cant hit him. If you have higher ground then your opponent, its bigger chance you hit and he miss. When she stopped playing it, she had thousadns of ingame playing hours. Also, when she stopped playing that game, it was because she had found another game, that seemed even more amazing. The most amazing thing was that, you was gonna feel like

you realy was in the game. Not just sitting in front of a screen pressing buttons on the keyboard. You could move your body with your thougths alone. She just had to get one of the copies. And now, she was right in it, but she have found out it was a death game. But for her, was this realy such a bad outcome? She didnt have any real life friends out there, only those she had met online. Would anyone miss her if she died? Now when she is here, people seems to care about her. Specialy a man named Jomei. Her heart also always started to pound when he got close. Could it be real? Could you feel like that in a game? Or

was it just some programed software that make you think you have that kinds of feelings. Well, she knew she couldnt be around the few friends she had met, they was probably thinking she was annoying, they was just too polite to say it to her, she was gonna remove at least that burden from their shoulders. She was gonna head out on a journey, she didnt knew when or if she was gonna come back. Of course they would follow her if she asked, or if she mentioned she was going at all. They would be too polite to actually do as they wanted to. She pushed away the cart in the shadows, with just a few potions and some Col that

would be enough for rent if she decided to sleep at an inn or buy some food. She was only gonna be away for a week. So maybe they even didnt realised she had been gone. When the cart was safe and secure in the shadows Zandra turned around, looking at the marketplace. So many different items was sold here, and there was alot of players buying them too. She saw some high level players visiting as well. But Zandra passed every salesman and headed for the outer district of town of beginning. Or more accurate, the gate that separated the safe zone from the area outside, where you could be killed by both players and

mobs. Thou she had no intentions on visiting places where she was gonna meet other players, this was her oown personal and kind of lonely journey. It was something she had to do herself. She had her town-clothing equiped, since she was gonna avoid any encounter with any mobs she didnt needed the heavy armour she was usualy wearing. Or the beginner cothes that wasnt even close as comfortable compared to her town clothing. Her town clothing consisted of a red skirt with suspenders, A red hood with a scarf attached to it. She also had a dark brown t-shirt. When she tooke the first steps out of the city she pulled the

hood over her head, to reduce the chance of someone recognize her and asking any questions. This journey she was gonna make ukwown to anyone else except herself. She walked out on the fields where low leveled players was training on killing boars. She herself remembered back in the day when she was fighting weak mobs as well, and was almost killed by the little nepents in the forest. Nowadays, she would be able to take them down with one single hit with her dagger. Just when she thougth that, four agressive boars spawned around her. She looked at them, one by one. First she thougth she was a fool that havent

equiped her armour. Then she rembered they wouldnt deal as much damage to her anyways. So pretty calm she equiped her dagger and charged up a area of effect sword art.''Well Im sorry, but I have more important things to do then to play with you piggies.'' she said to the boars, even when she knew they didnt understood a single word she said. Just when the four brown creatures charged Zandra released her skill and made red stripes on the boars, each of their health reduced from full to null in a few seconds. Before the exploded pixels have been faiding away Zandra was already on her way towards an, hopefully

exciting adventure. She didnt cared about looking at the reward screen, she just denied it at moved on. She didnt wanted this to be some kind of farming expedition. This was barely a trip to find her inner self. A trip to see if there was something she missed in this world, except the possibility to survive if your avatar dies. She also wanted to find out if she realy wanted to complete the game, or if she had it better here in Aincrad. Here she could make a life and reputation based on what she was good at. She had spent to many hours to count on farming in all of the different MMO's she had played in the real world.

So she wasnt tempted at all to farm now as well. She glanced over her shoulder, saw the reward screen was still there. Thou she did no intentions to turn around and accept it. She didnt even slowed down. She saw the last tiny pixel fade out into nothingness. The town of the beginnings could still be seen. Thou it hrew smaller with each step she took. It wouldnt take long until it was just a small dot on the horison. She walked actoss a field of green grass, it looked so soft and smooth so Zandta unequiped her boots to geel the straws between her toes.

Zandra was walking over the huge fields of floor one, all on her own. The town of beginnings now have became only a tiny dot on the horison. She knew she got further and further away from civilisation. At the start, she could see groups of low level caracters that was fighting boars like every five minutes or so. After each hour that passed, the groups became less and with longer time between. Now she havent seen a single player in fortyfive minutes. She looked to the left, there was a forest and in the frest she could see several red eyes staring at her from the darkness under the tree. She was on floor one so she didnt cared about it.

Well, not cared about it like it was any dangerous for her. She could easily take out a group of four wolfs on this floor. And there was only wolfs and boars that inhabitated floor one, at least as far as she have herd. Thats was also a reason behind her journey. She wanted to find new, never visited places, and see new species that dont even the beta testers or the information brokers had any idea they even existed. She felt like she started to get that far away from town of beginning to actually be able to do that. Most of all, she wanted to see a unicorn. There is alot of other creatures she want to see as well. But unicorn is one of the

creatures that there isnt any record of in the guide book. One day she want to see the mighty eagles of floor seven. Or at least she thougth it was floor seven. Thou she wasnt hundred precent sure. It could be eight as well. But she was certain it was on the floors that have already been unlocked by the frontliners. One day, she was gonna catch up to them and be a part of the elits of Aincrad. But that day wasnt today. Today she was gonna explore the complete floor one. Probably it would take longer time then just today. But she would start with today. If she didnt explored the whole floor, or actually when she didnt explored the whole floor she continue tomorrow.

But is she didnt completed it today, where should she sleep? Or was she even gonna need to sleep? She dont know if she gonna wake up if any mobs attacks her. If they do while she is asleep, even the one level boars could kill her if she slept for long time enough. She have seen in different survival shows that its good to climb up in a tree. For several reasons. Its better to sleep in the tree since you wont get cooled down. The temprature is lower right on the ground compared to a few meters up a tree. Thou she didnt knew if that was correct in the game. Since they have removed the pain parameter, they can easily remove such simple stuffs as well.

But all those survivors used rope to bind them to the tree, so they wouldnt fall down while they was asleep. Sadly for Zandra she didnt had any rope, she didnt even knew where to get one. Sge just had to find out another way to spend the night. She started to look around for a place that would fit good to spend the night on. The sun had started to lower behind the horison and she had to find a place to make camp pretty soon. Or she was gonna have to sleep on the ground under clear sky. She decided to go into the forest a bit, hopefully finding some seful spot in there. Luckily she had only walked for a couple of minutes until she found the right spot.

The right spot was between two trees. And between them, in some mysterious way the branshes have formed into a comfotable hammock. It looked realy, realy weird. But when she walked towards it and tried it out, it seemed to work realy well. It felt soft due to the several layers of leafs that covered the wooden branches. The edges of the hammock was high enough to make sure she wouldnt fall out of it tonight. She decided that she probably wouldnt find a better spot then this. So she climbed up in the natural made hammock, equipped her beginner armour, just to give him that little extra preotection that hopefully would protect her long enough for her to wake up.

Zandra took a quick walk around the surrondings about hundred meters within the hammock she planned to sleep on. It seemed there wasnt any spawned creatures or spawnpoints nearby, so she should be able to sleep thru the night without waking up dead. She decided that it now was time for bed as well. It have started getting pretty dark. But she could still see the foorest and its trail pretty good. But soon she wouldnt be able too anymore. She found the way back to the hammock before she lost her vision of sight. She have been thinking about getting that night vision skill someday. Well, as many other things, that wasnt today.

Zandra closed her eyes. It didnt took her many minutes to fall asaleep. After about ten hours she woke up. When she woke, she was blinded by the first sunbeam from the virtual world she was living in. She held up her hand to try to block out some of the sunlight at least. Then she was gonna sit up. But since she thougth she was laying in a bed, her arm slipped thru the branchwork, and the sudden move made the branches forming the hammock knit up. Now, there wasnt anything to hold her up in the air anymore. So she fell down and landed hard on the ground. She pushed herself up into standing position, brushed of some dirt from her clothes. Time for a new day.
