[F9-PP] <<Bandit Camp>> (Calrex)

Shizuka smiled. She was actually excited for this quest. Perhaps due to the fact that it was on a floor in which she had never been to before. It would be a whole new adventure for the taste of Shizuka and she couldn't wait. Of course, she had to find someone to help her clear out the mobs. With a smile, she realized that Calrex was probably the most suitable person for that at the moment. Immediately, she PMed the bluenette, asking him if he would mind helping her out on a <<Bandit Camp>> Quest and his help would be greatly appreciated. Indeed, she's been doing numerous quests during the past few days and she's proud of that... She needed the SP in order to become a quality support player in the game. With a smile, she walked to the teleportation gate and hence, she was teleported to the ninth floor. The first thing she did was, of course, accept the quest from the NPC warrior. He had looked at her like she was not strong enough to fight those bandits but she didn't give him [censored] and instead, went about to look at the place while waiting for Calrex's arrival. Honestly, she did not like the place. She really disliked the volcanic theme and it seems to her as if it would be really easy to die of an accidental or purposeful push. Nevertheless, she would have to get this quest out of the way eventually. Indeed, in order to level, she must endure all of this. With another sigh, she decided to sit down, feeling a bit sick from looking at the mountain ranges of volcanic activity.

"Hm? A PM?"

Calrex looked down at his menu as he swiped across it as he saw that Shizuka was requesting his help with yet another quest. He gave a small laugh as he sent his reply, saying that he was going to make his way there, "Heh, what am I, some kind of quest cheat code?"

Appearing in a flash of light in the teleportation plaza of Vulcan Village, activating his <<Reveal>> skill as he activated his tracker, following it until he saw his teammate come into view. He gave a wave as he completed his trek over, "Hey Shizuka, doing another quest I see? I think I can actually one shot the enemies this time, so once you're ready we can get moving."

"From what I remember they spawn in generally the same area. We have the option of sneaking around and taking them out one-by-one, but at this level we're better off eliminating them at once. At least I've grandmastered my One-Handed Straight Sword skill, so Lightning Fall should be more than enough to take them down."

Swiping on his menu he prepared his standard armament, this time opting for the Grand Dragoon due to the heat of the floor. It had been a while since he did the <<Guardian of Fire>> quest on his own, but every time after the ordeal seems to have been easier He figured it was that his <<Survival>> skill was finally acclimating him to the high temperature of the floor.

Shizuka smiled as the man arrived at the scene in quick time. She hadn't anticipated that she would wait very long and indeed, she was right. She would put her life at stack for Calrex to come to the scene with haste when she required help. Indeed, Calrex had arrived within about five minutes in which she PMed him. "Alright. We shall head out immediately. Perhaps later during the day, after you one shot those bandits, we can go for a bit of material gathering... I have recently gotten a search and detect skill that would be very useful in these types of things." Shizuka said, sure that Calrex would also have the rank and probably even with a better rank. But it doesn't matter, Shizuka was low leveled yet Calrex was probably one of the highest leveled players in Aincrad, if not the highest leveled player. Shizuka smiled before standing up from the bench in which she has sat on after a while of looking around. "I'm not entirely sure of where the bandit camp is... so I hope you don't mind using the Reveal skill that you have once more," Shizuka said. Indeed, Shizuka was full of gratitude for the stronger player. She knew that she had done quite a bit of quests with the man in which he was just able to one-shot or two-shot everything and she had gotten skill points as a result of that. Nevertheless, it doesn't matter, the front lines need better support players and she was one.

"Heh, material gathering and Search and Detect. You sound exactly like how I was when I was still leveling up. To my knowledge I think I was one of the first to actually make material gathering my 'profession.' Nonetheless, the skill is really useful for finding top quality materials and loot."

Giving a calming breath he persisted his <<Reveal>> skill as his eyes continued to glow a lighter shade of his usual dark blue, closer to the surface of the ocean as he looked around, "If I could I would just keep this skill on all the time, but it really does draw away from the beauty of the game design. It's like looking at a human body with x-ray glasses. You see how everything works, but it ruins the appearance."

Resting his right hand against the handle of the Grand Blade he continued forward, scanning around, "Looks like they spawned in about the same area I saw them last time. This shouldn't be a problem at all. Just let me know when you're ready and I'll go take them out. But just make sure you add me to your party beforehand, or all of this will be for nothing, heh."

Oops. She had forgotten to add Calrex to a party, but it matters not as she would just have to do it now. "Alright," Shizuka said as she opened up her menu, "I almost forgot about that." And thus, she sent out the party request. Shizuka sighed. "I'm when you are," She said after watching the man's eyes turn to a lighter shade of dark blue. He looks intimidating like that. She thought as she realized how strong the blue on him looked. Literally everything on the man was blue including his armor, his hair, and now his eyes when using the reveal skill. Shizuka smiled as she started to walk. "Oh yeah, I have been meaning to ask you. Are you prepared for the boss fight? I'm really scared for it. You know, I am the lowest leveled player in that boss fight and I hope I won't get hit because if I do, I might actually be one shot." Shizuka said. Indeed, it wasn't every day in which a level 12 player joined up with level 40 players in a boss fight. Still, I must do my duty as a support and that means going to the boss fight even when my skills are not practiced yet. She thought before following Calrex and soon, they would be at the bandit camp in which Calrex would probably one shot those NPC humans that were pretty weak for his level.

Calrex gave a friendly nod as he accepted the party request, seeing Shizuka's health bar appear below his in the HUD, "Prepared for the boss fight? Well, I guess the wise thing to say is that I'm really never fully prepared. There have been times everyone thought they were, but then the game decides to throw something at us no one was expecting. Case and point, the last boss fight we were all buffing ourselves when we found out that there was an environmental effect that actually completely negates all bonuses to our accuracy. So, I guess you can say I'm as prepared as could be."

Giving a small sigh he put on an encouraging face as he continued, "However, from what I've witnessed so far the floor bosses still work under the Hate system, so as long as Tristan, I, and the other tanks of the frontlines do our jobs I can assure you we'll keep you safe. The last death during a boss fight was for unlocking the ninth floor, and I'm sure that everyone that has continued from then are doing everything they can to prevent more loss."

Giving a calming breath the bluenette watched as the bandits came into sight, giving a nod to Shizuka, "Alright, I'll make this quick so we can get to that material gathering."

Activating his <<Charge>> skill Calrex flew forward at almost instantaneous speed before leaping into the air. As he descended the Grand Blade became covered in the crackling electric-like aura of the <<Lightning Fall>> Sword Art as he descended from above. Landing in the middle of all the bandits he stabbed his sword into the ground, unleashing a barrage of arcing bolts that skipped across the ground.

It seemed for a second that the attacks would miss, but then they quickly moved back on point, striking all four of the bandits as they all dissipated into crystals instantaneously.

Getting to his feet Calrex sheathed his sword with a calming breath, "Hehe, I remember the first time I did this the battle went a lot longer, although back then I needed to engage them one on one."

"Alright, that's done. Shall we get starting on those materials?"

Shizuka smirked when the man was able to completely destroy the bandits that were camping out in the top of the mountain chilling. Shizuka sighed, she had once again not been able to have any action, but she did not mind as she would obtain the skill points that would be provided through the quest. She was very grateful that Calrex was helping her out so much... It's been three quests that he's done with her and indeed, the only reason that she's at her level is due to the fact that she's experiencing help from Calrex. "Of course, I'm always ready for some material gathering," Shizuka said with a very excited smile. She would need a lot of materials for her shop and she would be able to obtain some today.  I wonder what types of things are here on this floor. She thought before looking around.

Shizuka looked around to see that there were nothing of reach near her, but she did remember reading about how fire stones from the ninth floor can be put to use by an alchemist. Probably used for damage potions. She thought. Perhaps I'll find one of those later.

Calrex gave a nod as Shizuka began to scavenge around for materials. Ever since the release of the Sword Art he hadn't done non-combat material gathering for quite some time. It was refreshing to see that the technique had not died out. Activating his <<Reveal>> skill he began to look around along the ground for any hints of mineral deposits, herbs, or anything else that might prove useful for it. Looking up above he gave a nod to Roc to give him a hand with looking around.

After some time the bluenette gave a sigh as nothing came of his gathering. Roc flew in, but rather than providing a useful object, he brought a snack for himself, "I guess it's been a while since you've eaten."

A bead of sweat formed on the side of his head as he watched his companion eat before taking off, "No luck on my end so far. How about you?"

Shizuka sighed. "I guess neither of us is having success here," She said with disappointment. "Perhaps we should move on to a different location. I heard that there are some volcanic rocks up near the volcanoes." Shizuka said before leaving for her destinination. Upon arrival, she went right to the search and of course, she was unable to find anything. Perhaps her luck was just terrible, or perhaps she's not looking at the right places. It matters not because she is simply not getting material gathering luck recently.

"Actually I think we were just at the edge of a good deposit of materials. I think I might have just found traces of good ore around here."

Moving some more rocks out of the way Calrex's suspicions proved true as he found a decently sized piece of iron ore in the ground. Swiping on his menu he added it to his inventory as he got back to his feet, "Speaking of what, what profession are you Shizuka? That might help us discern what materials we need to keep our eyes out for."

Shizuka smiled as the man had found a material even though she was unable to claim one as her own. Shizuka then looked around once more to see that indeed, there were still no materials. "Well, I'm an alchemist... So I think fire stones would be rather useful for me so I can make my damage potions or healing potions. I'm sure they can be used." Shizuka said. She remembered reading about it when she was studying at the old NPC alchemist's place.

Moving a pile of rocks aside Calrex leaned back as he saw a gush of lava emerge from the hole now exposed beneath the pile. Rummaging through the broken pieces he recovered what looked to be a handful of glowing red stones, swiping on his menu to add said items to his inventory, "Hey, how about this? Whatever total materials we find we'll split. Sound like a good idea?"

Shizuka sighed as she was asked whether she wanted to split the material. "Well, I don't feel right after having you help me one shot those bandits to also have you share materials with me. I really wouldn't want that." Shizuka said. She felt like she was getting everything handed over to her and honestly, that was not her goal. Her goal in Aincrad is to help others through her healing and support. If that is not possible, she will grieve. However, that was when she managed to see a pebble in the distance. Immediately, she sprung and took the fire stone to add it to her collection. "Awesome! Maybe we are in the right place."

Looking up Calrex saw Roc return, his blue peregrine falcon descending down in front of him as he saw the bird of prey drop yet another fire stone in front of him. Giving an approving nod the bluenette watched as his familiar disappeared into the air once again, "Heh, looks like we've finally gotten into a good pace. We should be able to get a good haul in before heading back if we keep this up."

Shizuka smiled. Indeed, there were many stones that has the potential of her using as a material. However, many of the stones that are laying on the ground are very close to the opening of the volcano. Of course, as the brave soul that she was, she tried to go for one but was only shocked by the extreme heat that radiated from the center of the volcano. Because of this, she quickly backed off and let the rock fall into the volcano with lava at its heart. "Well, lesson learned: Don't go for those rocks near the opening of the volcano." Shizuka said, trying to make a joke out of the incident.

"Oh geeze, be careful, heh. I haven't seen anyone fall into the lava just yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if it results in insta-death."

Scanning around once again Calrex saw that there yet another fire stone nearby as he picked it up, swiping on his menu to add it to his inventory, "I guess having Search and Detect really does help speed up these types of trips. However, it really is faster to go up against four monsters and kill them for four materials at once. In any case this is still safer and kind of relieving to do, because you don't have to worry as much about getting attacked."

Shizuka smiled, taking a mental note to not go for rocks that were near the border. That was when she saw a rock right near her feet. She bent down to pick it up and blew on it to get rid of some of the dust that had produced on the fire rock. She smiled as she had once again added a material to her stock in which she could use for her shop and create a lot of potions and lots of different objects that she could use eventually or sell. Shizuka sighed before looking around once more.

Before he could reach down suddenly a miniature geyser of lava shot out from the hole he had exposed. Leaning back Calrex watched as the magma fell down in small droplets around the hole as he backed up a few steps to avoid getting burned, "Well, that didn't work out as planned. Better be careful of these little magma pits."

Shizuka sighed as she watched as Calrex unleashed a burst of lava from the hole which had been unlocked as a result from a hole that had opened. Shizuka smiled as the man backed up but was not harmed in anyway... Luckily. Shizuka looked around once more to see if perhaps she could become lucky and find some more fire stones. Shizuka sighed before realizing that there were none and that was when she caught glimpse of a red, black rock underneath her feet. With a smile, she picked it up and claimed it as her own.

Searching once more Calrex gave a small sigh as it appeared that the manga that had come out from the miniature volcano had completely covered the area he was searching, quickly cooling into a complete layer over any other fire crystals he could have gathered, "Alright then, looks like we got a good haul this time. Let's start making a move back to the settlement before it gets dark.

Putting his hands into his jacket pockets he reactivated his <<Reveal>> skill as he locked on to the settlement's general location, waiting for Shizuka to be ready.
