Enhancements: (+36 Mitigation and +1 Heavy Momentum)
Description: (The successor to Calrex's original Grand Guard. The overall appearance seems the same as the original, except now the two parts of the shield seem to have a wave-like texturing relief, showing the thickened and more resistant metal used in its forging. At the same time it seems to channel any missed momentum into his subsequent attacks, making the Ultramarine Knight's defensive array that much more dangerous.)

  3. Zero blinked surprised by the small child’s unexpected question, specially how she had addressed him. Did she just call me Onii-chan? He blushed slightly when he realized she had gripped his hand and began to make slight stuttering sounds, losing his composure as he found the little girl to be surprising adorable. “Uh, n-no I’m not lost. Are you all alone here kiddo? Shouldn't you be with a grown up or somewhere safe like the first floor? He decided not to call her on calling him Onii-chan and simply followed the same train as her.

  4. Zero grumbled as he laid in a public bench, passed out from another night of drinking and who knows what else. He moved about for a few moments before finally sitting back up, stretching his back with a yawn. His eyes looked about his surrounding area, his drowsiness still very much present, and found that he was still in the fifth floor within the confines of a safe zone. Usually he would have one of his ‘nights’ which ended with him finding himself somewhere entirely different the next morning. “At least it was a bench this time…” He slowly stood up from the bench and scratched the back of his head; his eyes catching the glimpse of what seemed to be a lost little girl. “Oi, kiddo. Are you lost or something?” He called out to her, carefully making his way over. Rare to see kids like her on their own in floors passed the second one… I don’t think hurting her would be appropriate, guess I’ll have to play hero…

  5. Zero glanced at his team members as they quickly struck down some of the souls following his failure at attacking when he first arrived. He found himself taking a bit of extra effort to recover from his previous screw up and stepped out of the way so the rest of the team could continue their assault. The fight felt as if it was going to be dragged out endlessly due to the strength of the Darkened Souls and the fact that some reason someone had the brilliant idea of placing all the strongest players in the same party leaving only a handful of competent fighters. I’ll have to talk with Zelrius and the rest about avoiding this from happening again. He slowly took a step back as his blade was engulfed by a black light like it had done before. The light quickly began spread over his entire being, engulfing him completely, and rose up into the sky before swooping down at the first four Darkened Souls. He swept passed each of the souls a sharp whooshing sound following each time the light swept passed the souls, the light vanishing after the attack had ended.

  6. Zero knew he was late to the meet up with the rest of the party and that they had most likely set out to battle already. He rushed from the fifth floor and quickly made his way towards the thirteenth, heading towards the designated area. It was not long before he arrived at the spot, the battle just commencing with the Darkened Souls. He drew out his blade, dashing at the first four as the blade was engulfed by a black light. The light quickly spread over his entire being, engulfing him, and rose into the sky before rapidly coming down at the four Darkened Souls. He quickly realized he had overshot his attack and barely missed the targets. Instead he found himself landing on the ground and doing a barrel roll to get back up. “Forgive the tardiness, didn’t mean to get here so late.”

  7. "I can turn tanks into tissue paper with my power." He stated bluntly and tossed his blade over his shoulder. "I'll give you it's name so you can remember me if you ever hear it, Darkness Blade." He knew his skill and identity were unknown to most of the current generation, he was of a time already passed only remembered by few players. He listened to her attentively, watching every word she used in case he picked up anything of interest but found her to be relatively average. His perception also allowed him to pick up on her surprise regarding his very existence, something he was profoundly glad of. Less known the better right now...

"I see, so you personally know the player Tearye. Can't say I'm surprised you know all the rest either, they aren't all that discreet about their skills to be honest." He swung his sword to the side before sheathing it and grabbed Ariel's hand like before. His lips planted a gentle kiss on the back of her hand and his eyes gazed up at her. "If you wish I can provide you with assistance in acquiring a Unique Skill. I'll tell you the basics and work up to the more intricate aspects I discovered, sound good to you milady?"

  8. He carefully continued to massage her feet with ease, the times he groomed his sister whenever she returned from work and helped her relax. He remained quiet when she spoke to him, his mind still on the thoughts of his sister and his time outside the game in real life. Real life, or a miserable existence to Zero for the most part. He nodded quietly when she order him to continue massaging her feet and glanced at her. "Sleep well Anyanka. I'll be sure to keep watch while you rest."

  9. Zero slightly grinned while he massaged Anyanka's feet, his thoughts laughing at her overconfidence regarding her control over him. She really is far too easy to read, though it does make this all the more fun for me. He looked up at her as he continue to massage her feet and smiled. "I'm glad to hear you're satisfied by my massage. He casually glanced at her chest then back down at her feet, she was too careless in his opinion but he would not tell her that of course. His eyes darted back up to her at the mention of getting more 'manservants'. "Isn't it better to have one that you know will carry out your commands than many who might not? If one of them doesn't want to do what you say it could fill the rest with doubt, milady."

  10. "M-maybe..." He fiddled with his fingers when she teased him and looked down slightly, all to keep up the act. His face became flushed and eyes turned up to her when she whispered into her ear. She was a tease through and through, and Zero was loving it. "W-well... I mean... I want to... Well..." He stuttered incoherent speech by the time she sat down against the tree and suggested he massage her feet. The young man quietly walked over to her, kneeling down, and removed her footwear. "If your feet are tired I'll take care of it..." He looked at her and gently gripped her left foot, massaging it slowly.

  11. Zero withheld laughing at Anyanka's victorious grin, she believed herself to have him in the palm of her hands and that he would be her winning horse. He did not mind slaving around for her for the mean time, in fact he found it a bit more satisfying to trick her into believing he was her pawn. He continued to discreetly eye her as she spoke and let out an embarrassed laugh. "W-well I do find it kind of...attracting how you look at people, and I wouldn't be too sure of that. I have a feeling I'd actually enjoy the real you a lot, just like I'm enjoying this you." He carefully watched her get away slightly and send him a friend request soon after. "Good point, this will allow us to get in touch much faster which works in our favor. His face turned bright red from her fingers moving over his bicep and his eyes looked away slightly, all part of his act.If it weren't me man would she have some poor sucker at her mercy... He blinked surprised by how easily she found it to flaunt her body at him and attempt to reel him in with temptation. "I know that already... If you're really offering..." He watched her walked passed him and move on her way. "I'll gladly take your offer." A crazed expression carving itself on his face and quickly shifting back to the naive appearance when he turned in her direction, following after her.

  12. He knew what her thoughts were at that point and what she had begun to plan. He slightly smiled when she continued to use his words to compliment herself, she was just what he expected. "It is a little hard to not admire your beauty. Especially when it's combined with such an attractive personality." He listened to her attentively as she spoke and instructed him on what they would do. He did not fight back anything she said, fine with listening to her for the time being, and for once felt glad he easily blushed, Anyanka's attempt to use her charms making the young man's face become flushed. "Fine with me, Empress. Just try not to pick anything we can't handle."

  13. "That may be true. It certainly would make sense that they avoid me for being socially awkward." He could feel her outright hatred for him at that moment, but completely brushed it off as her headstrong nature getting the better of her. He thought about what she said when questioning his reasons for his interest in her and began to laugh when she believed him to be flirting. "I'm interested in you for the very reason that you don't care about anyone else. I find your tenacity quite admirable...and beautiful." He calmly walked behind her for a few seconds and moved up to her side. "I'm truly sorry for jumping in without your permission, but it is dangerous for a low level to fight alone even on the first floor. Would you like me to lend you some assistance?" He looked at her, extending his hand towards her, and smiled slightly. "I'd be happy to help you, Empress." He spoke the last part with a slight more affection then intended.

  14. He stopped encircling her and shook his head. "Not really. She barely got the chance to teach me how to read and write." He scratched the back of his head and glanced at the ground then back at her. "My apologies if what I did made you uncomfortable." He slipped his hands into his pockets and smiled. She's definitely a nice catch, definitely candidate material. He contemplated, discreetly looking her over. "Just felt like getting a better look, not every day I see a woman that had the presence you do."

  15. He found her personality more intriguing, she was a perfect image of a headstrong and beautiful. He laughed at her remark towards the players who spoke badly about her and nodded in agreement. "You aren't wrong there. I can imagine them finding it difficult to accept an Amazonian type of woman like yourself, beautiful, strong and daring." He scratched his chin when she spoke about him and began to walk around her in a circle. "Is that so? I am not much of a catch apart from my Darkness Blade? That's a bit hurtful innit?" His occasional English accent stepping in at the last word; he crossed his arms and let out a sigh, the accent fading. "Guess that's why people avoid me like poison too then, I am a bit much to handle myself I suppose."

  16. He slightly smiled at her struggle with the blade, not in a mocking way but in an entertained way. His eyes quickly noted her blush when he complimented her, her overconfidence and superiority complex simply making her all the more entertaining. "I'm not an oaf though, I'm rather well educated, and I don't think the other players would call you exceptionally beautiful." He quickly moved to catch her when she suddenly lost grip of her weapon and smiled. "Though I completely disagree, I can't see a beauty like you being poison to anyone."

  17. Normally one would have laughed at a player getting their sword wedged into the ground, but Zero resisted doing something like that. He felt like irritating her right now was not the course of action he had to take and chose to instead remain calm. His eyes glanced at her attire, a gown, then at her weapon, a claymore. Two Handed Straight Sword user. Fits her headstrong attitude rather well. He looked into her eyes when she began to calm herself and quietly pulled his sword away at her mention of it.

"You're welcome." He carefully sheathed his blade and slightly laughed at her question. "I only came here because I saw someone in trouble and thought they needed help. Add to that the fact it was a beautiful lass like yourself and it was inevitable that I come charging in. I'm fully aware of the opinions players have about you, but I rarely concern myself with that idle gossip. I usually prefer to judge someone by meeting them myself."

  18. He retracted his hand at the sudden snap and blinked silently, realizing the type of person he had before him. His eyes glanced at where the boars once stood then back at her. "Well it looked like you were in trouble and there three boars, so I thought I'd jump in and try to avoid you letting you die." He slipped his hands into his pockets and turned away from her, trying not to laugh at her arrogance. He knew her type rather well, prideful, headstrong and incapable of accepting they were not all they thought of themselves. He tried to ignore her scolding, she seemed to think that she stood a chance when the other two boars would have attacked her before she could finish the first one which was clear as day to anyone with eye.

He glanced at her, seeing her about to swing the claymore at him, and quickly hopped over it. He unsheathed his sword and pointed it at her. "How about a thank you fro saving your life? It was clear that you have idea of what you're doing right now."

  19. Zero calmly strolled through the first floors fields, as he was used to doing quite frequently due to the lack of mobs from constant player hunting in the area. He caught the glimpses of some players practicing together against individual and groups of boars and wolves, the sight reminding him of when he first left Starting City. His eyes followed their moves, each one fluent due to the system assist, and scanned for potential recruits, not for his guild but his personal group. A loud voice resonated through the air in the form of angered screams and seemed to be coming from the area players were avoiding. “Why is everyone avoiding that area like it’s poison?”

“Anyanka the Terrible,” A player passing by stated and pointed in the area as they walked away. “She always does this, going on a rampage to release stress. It’s better to steer clear than get involved or at least that’s up to you.” They waved at Zero, heading off back towards town.

“Rampage huh? I have to see this for myself.” He quickly made his way towards the yelling’s point of origin, finding a woman get knocked back by a boar. He noticed the two other boars nearby, knowing they would target her once they were done, and sprinted towards them, unsheathing his blade as quickly approached.

Zero's eyes narrowed when he leapt over the girl and his blade became covered in a black light. He was cosumed by the light which quickly struck all three boars consecutively, returning to the spot near Anyanka the boy was supposed to land. The flame vanished revealing the boy underneath it, his hand stretched out to her. "You alright?"

  20. Zero found Ariel’s quick explanation behind her name amusing, noting that she probably had to deal with people immediately associating her name with that of the mermaid from the animated movie. He listened to her attentive as she spoke, he felt somewhat compelled to ask more about her name but felt it was unnecessary. His eyes discreetly assessed her physically, rapier user, well equipped and not lacking in the looks department. He assumed that she was, or at some point must have been, a frontliner or at least part of a guild that took part in the frontlines which was possible since he had not been in the frontlines for a while. "Don’t worry I hadn’t assumed that about your name, though that is an interesting choice of name your parents made.”

He felt a slight pride set in when he seemed to have impressed the blonde with his explanation. Normally he did not bother explaining his name, but if he intended this situation to move in the direction he hoped it was required that he provided to the discussion what he could as well. He kept himself from smiling when she slightly reached for her sword, but stopped herself and instead asked about his weapon. “This old thing? I’ve had it for a while; it’s not really all that to be honest. I can only use one at a time, but as for Unique Skills I can tell you there’s about seven so far and rumors of more still yet to be found so who knows. All I know is that my skill is pretty useful, especially when dealing with players though it’s mainly tanks. You interested in getting one for yourself?”
