MD 9, 60 damage received. Healed damage with 72 Holy Blessing. Fighting Spirit and Taunt for 1 Hate respectively. Flame Thorns activated. Burn damage dealt.

Tristan watched as his wife attacked the boss, once again striking them with quite some power. He could quite vividly remember the Iron Guardian they fought many a while back, which was of similar power (somewhat weaker if anything) to this boss. However compared to then, now they made the boss appear like mere childs play that was being reduced to nought incredibly fast. And it hadn't even hit him on a hit that activated the Thorns on his weapon yet either, which would be even more deadly to the boss. "Well I must admit I hope you do, but that's just my opinion." he jested as he held his wife and protected her from attacks again by the Banshee similar to just before.

  2. Tristan entered the area, looking around and thinking just how...gloomy it was. And depressing. And all other similar moods. Well, an area where the boss was a giant spider after all meant that they would have to work their utmost. He was somewhat sad that his wife couldn't come as she had participated in the Easter boss fight, but he knews she was at current just not strong enough to frontline just yet and didn't want to put her at risk and be harmed greatly. Well, he hoped that they could do somewhat well this time around and hopefully isn't quite as deadly as the last boss fight was, which was a bit of a mess.

Tristan smiled as he watched Flints press forward with the attack, slashing away with the claws. Wounds were made and the Banshee received damage, which was good to see. He hoped that hisnwife would later get in a stronger hit too, so that she could make use of the stronger aspect of her sword arts and the wedding gift, though will take this for now. The Banshee flew forward at them clawing, with a claw that seemed to bypass protection at Tristan. However the flames once again burst from the shield, burning the boss. Also while Tristan had received a sizeable chunk of damage due to the bosses ability, he healed it after using the ability of one of the armors he had on. "Well that's always a handy armor. I don't think I could ever give it away." he chuckled.

Tristan had to admit that he didn't like the dark in scenarios like these either. He held tight to Flints who hid against him, saying "It's okay dear, I'm here. Besides, this thing isn't even hitting me, for whatever reason. Though once it does, they'll be in a world of pain. Unlike me that is." Tristan smiled to himself thinking on the odd nature of how him being attacked was more detrimental for the boss, then focused back to the Banshee who didn't attack them. Tristan waited further to see what would happen next.

  5. Tristan didn't attack for now, instead holding his wife while the Banshee seemed to lie in wait with their attack. The Banshee appeared to for now not even attack. Maybe, they didn't aggro it with attacks just yet? He wasn't sure, but held Flints for a bit saying "They do indeed look great on you my love. And you know that I'll always protect you, so asking for a bit longer isn't asking much.". He chuckled and kissed her forehead, before facing the Banshee again and waiting for their next attack that may come.

  6. Tristan watched as Flints attacked her foes, who were now crisped moments later by the flames that his shield had spat out before. He smiled at his wife and said "Well they're a goner. Now on to the main show." Tristan said as he looked around, trying to find their target. And there it was, the Banshee herself. Tristan tried to remember the last time he faced this boss, it must have been almost a year now. However this time he was prepared with a woman who could do great damage. "Well this is where you shine, as with that wedding present you can now use, you'll easily do more damage than me. Plus you get to show me the efforts of your grandmaster!". Tristan sounded excited as he spoke, since he loved seeing his wife in action.

  7. Tristan relaxed his stance as he looked at the opponents, well at least as best as he could in the dark. He watched as his wife attempted to attack but the dimness of light just made them a bit too difficult to perceive for her. Tristan nodded to her and said "Don't worry, I think I know where they are based off your attack", then dashed forward while spinning the spear circular, striking all 4 of the enemies. His damage may be an utter pittance compared to most high level players, but it was nice to know it was actually existent. After finishing his attack, Tristan blocked the oncoming attack with his shield, Flame Thorns activating and bursting out, burning the zombies. "Well, you may as well sit and relax because they're as good as dead in a moment.".

  8. Tristan was mildly surprised by the surprise bump and then squeeze but relaxed when he heard the voice of his dear wife. Indeed, he realised that he hadn't explained this quest despite having done it himself, thus leaving her probably somewhat confused. "Ah yeah, I realise I haven't said anything about that. Guess that does leave you in the dark.". He chuckled at his pun skills. They were reaching dad level puns, which he wasn't sure what that told about himself. "Anyhow jesting aside, the Banshee's minions and the Banshee themself are in a cave....like this one. Well, that was a tad anti-climatic. Either way, there should be enemies around here so get yourself ready.".

Tristan unsheathed the Lion's Herald, blue light wrapping around the arm that held it in its protective aura, and took out his Twinfire Reflector and placed it in front of him in a shielding position (how else does one hold a shield after all?). "Alright, this married couple is gonna rock and roll. Though these will be quick. If an AOE from you won't kill them, my accumulative Thorns and Flame Thorns will.". He then roared like a dragon or beast as usual, rattling the cave and bringing all attention to him.

  9. Tristan sighed as he looked into the entrance of Tartarus, the jail like building that it was. It was not the first time he had been here by any means. He had not only fought the Banshee before with Calrex, but he even fought the great Achilles for the unique skill at this entrance too. However this time he was as he had promised, helping his wife get stronger. In this case more so that she could carry stronger equipment. "Well, while I wait for Kita, I may as well start searching for the cave.". Tristan looked around inside to see if he could find it at all.

ID 55230 LD 6 (need LD 15). Tristan tried looking for the cave, but so far had little success. maybe later.

  11. Riposte adjustment is in the works in a patch that's WIP for several changes. Basically VR will be reduced in power.

Thorns is conditional (non crit hit) and I interpret it as instead of mitigating/regenerating the damage, you send it back, though with the recent nerf to it, is in fact lesser version of that.

The reason from recent the defensive enhancements were buffed (but the armor and block skill nerfed) is because unlike damage, they scaled horribly from amazing early game to awful end game. Thus they got changed to be somewhat more flat. Defensive stuff is still inherently a tad better early game due to people at that point lacking R5 weapon and such, but it's at least less of a crazy curve.

  12. Tristan smiled when he saw Flints appear, coming up to her and kissing her on the head and hugging. "Glad you could come my dear. I'll make sure to keep you safe. Plus I guess you get to see my infamous tanking for the first time on the frontlines. I will absolutely make sure my wife does not die on me.". He smiled at her once more, then said "Alright, I have a boss to distract. Just focus on the attack when your opening comes, that is if Zelrius or such don't kill it first...". Tristan stepped forward towards the boss, shield in front and spear beside him and faced the...oh for goodness sake. Guess Rect Progress really liked their references. Tristan sighed to himself, then used Howl to attract the attention of the boss to himself.

  13. Tristan got a strange message, thinking it must be time for one of those weird bosses again. He just hoped it wasn't too bad, since he as usual would likely play the role of main tank, but as it was a festive boss he felt it was unlikely such would occur. Tristan rolled his shoulders and equipped all his gear as he entered where the boss room was, his bloodstained armor, burning shield and golden spear with the blue glow around the arm that held it. It sure felt pretty badass to be covered in demonics, he had to admit.

  15. Tristan was a bit disappointed about having no drink left, but didn't dwell on it since there were more important matters in discussion here. The players were briefed on the situation further and they talked, squabbled over matters and Dom walked out, to which Tristan nodded in reply to Dom of essentially representing Azure Brigade. He looked across the various players to measure their reactions as the plans were announced, thinking already of how to approach it all.

"I'd say a week. I can guarantee some players here or other frontliners already have a stockpile of potions like safeguard and while we should prepare, there is no good in waiting twiddling our thumbs either. I can accept those team rotas with effectively I leading the Vanguard, Dom leading second group, Lowe three and Oikawa four. I will as always try to be the focus for the damage absorption, though I can't guarantee safety from crowd control so healers are paramount, to which I'd almost say reshuffle the groups so there is one in each, with a somewhat damage dealing one in the first to avoid them sitting around first phase of the fight. As for the info broker information, I've confirmed with several brokers the one on Parry is true, but the one on Thorns is a false rumour. With that, I don't think there is much more to say.". Tristan waited to see if anyone would reply, though he doubted it. He did raise an eyebrow to what Opal had mentioned. Was she trying to yank the Knights out to join them? After the Knights of Blood broke their alliance with the now Azure Knights, this seemed a bit of an odd move. Not that he was a Knight, but as a commandant he still raised concern.

  16. This is the official sign up for the Easter Event.

It is Strongly recommended you do not apply unless you are at least level 25 with T2 equipment. Under-leveled applicants run the risk of their immediate death.

NO MORE PLAYERS MAY NOW JOIN THE FIGHT AS THE FIGHT HAS STARTED

Players have received a player wide notification with a message, saying only "Come to this plain for a big Easter Surprise, on a journey travelled by kings of old." with a location shown on a map to a green plains on Floor 1. A rock akin to a cave sticking out the ground appears to be sitting there out of the plains, with an eerie quiet as though something will soon arrive.

    Rules:

    1. You have 24 hours to post or are skipped

    2. Anyone who does not post in the boss fight within 24 hours of their turn will be skipped and receive 10 damage. The damage for being skipped is something that is being trailed for this boss battle; it is an incentive to keep an eye on the thread you are in, to ensure that you are not skipped. It is also an incentive to promote activity within the boss fight and to demote users joining then abandoning the thread.

    3. If you are skipped three times you void any rewards but will still sustain damage

    4. You have three days to post here and declare your equipment or you will be considered absent. You may post without double posting as often as wanted to eat buffs etc.
The boss will appear on 31st of March, after which no more players may join.

  17. Tristan had entered the meeting earlier, but was watching from further back before he joined the conversation. A number of ruckus had occurred in the time that he was in the room, with insults, challenges about the level of players and further being flung around. He was rather glad he filled a large glass with his Cask of Eternal Ale earlier, since this meant he could keep himself calm by distracting himself with sips of his drink. Plus he was rather heavyweight on alcohol, so this made drinking for pure enjoyment much more possible. When it got to a point where he felt he should step in, the tall armored figure of Tristan walked towards the table, glass still in hand, and began talking calmly.

"First things first, I'd say the state of the most recent boss fight is something everyone is to blame for. Players became careless and somewhat indulged in past preparation, such that players were too lax. I for one while warning that safeguards are typically a good idea and to take care, did not expect so many crowd clearing attacks, which meant my role was rather limited at best. Crowd clearing is..." Tristan took a breath to collect his mind. "It was the same thing that claimed two past lives in a floor boss, namely Rue and Alkor.". Tristan had a sudden memory of the party Rue threw just before the boss. It was really enjoyable, and he missed seeing her cheeriness. Alkor also was supportive, having quested together and offering him the shield that made Tristan what he is today. "We fell for something that happened before. I should of known, but instead I'm burdened by having witnessed the most deaths to floor bosses in this entire game. Redirection of blame is of no good, but to dwell on it now is also of no good. Instead, it should be a reminder to be careful and to prepare more thoroughly. Now, onto the boss.". Tristan took a sip of his drink. "If we are seeing as many enemies as it seems we will be, we should be doing a great focus on defense, so as to avoid us being overwhelmed by 'Death of a Thousand Cuts'. Knowing spiders, they are also toxic, which means receiving damage players like I will simply not be able to mitigate. I would recommend taking multiple tanks to the fight to absorb the blows of the enemies, with me heading as the main tank to also absorb boss damag. If mobility is going to be reduced, then we will just have to ensure our tanks are up to scratch. It is safe to say that safeguard, health potions and antidotes will be vital. However hopefully, this boss doesn't drag on the fight as long as the past one did too. One issue I noticed with the last is there as ironically not crowd control on our side in attacks. We should remedy that and have anyone area damage focused to do exactly that, lest we risk further death. As for minimum levels or strength, I won't forbid anyone from joining. But to join low levelled is on your head. I try to keep people alive, but there is only so much I can do, as was seen last time. To be at least level 25 to 30 would be recommended. So instead of focusing on berating others, let us make an effort to help players get stronger. I'm not sure how much free time I have to help players grind, but I'm sure others will have more.

At this point, except for ironing out details and ensuring arrangements are made, I don't think much more discussion will be required." Tristan took a final gulp of his drink, then waited to see if anyone were to respond.

  18. Tristan blinked at all the responses and craziness of the party, while somehow trying to maintain conversation, which wasn't a simple task by any means. Kiru seemed to drill the basics of treating a woman into him, to which he smiled and chuckled, remembering past darker memories. "I don't know where she's been, though we not long back quested quite a bit and she seems just fine these days. I mean, she was at the wedding and all too. And don't worry, she already has two rings from me along with a Hoya, one of which is integral as part of her equipment. And the last time I got drunk, we both did and I carried her to bed and well...I don't think you want to know the rest." He chuckled to break the speech. "So if anything, I run away with them, if that's any better.".

He stayed quiet as Kiru as she rested on Dom. While Tristan wanted to offer his own support, it looked like there was still a bit too much painful memory for her for Tristan to support her. Maybe in time, since he did still want to be close friends with her like he was in the past. He had lost enough people going into pixels, he didn't really want to see anymore gone. Tristan snapped out of his thought train when they were suddenly approached by a woman looking like they forgot where the local strip club was. Tristan purposefully diverted his eyes elsewhere in the sky, sipping on his drink, while she talked with Dom. The conversation was more cheesy than anything, but didn't really pay much attention to it. He knew what the equipment was but as it didn't interest him by any amount per se as a tank, he let them go on with it as their own business.
