  1. The woman's hand leaps to her right hip, sliding her finger through the loop on her rapier's guard and dragging it free with a smooth withdrawal. That wrist of hers rotates in a counterclockwise spin drawing the point of the weapon in her clutches up toward her target. A flick of her wrist sees it snap into position and locked on. The streak of purple rippling across its thin gilded edge like flames. Without warning, the sand explodes from the spot she’s standing as the weapon catapults her into her foe with an obscene amount of force.

    With the impact, the hot white flesh beneath is torn open and exposed. In another scenario it could be one hell of a delicacy but this one was trying to kill them. A tug sees that her rapier was stuck snuggly inside that mess, and she has to use her right foot to pull it free like a hatchet from a chopping block.

    • Tough Shell: This monster’s MIT and ACC cannot be reduced, and it remains unaffected by Incarcerate, Paralysis and Freeze effects.
    • Too Large: Familiars’ Grappling Skill cannot be used to stun the boss. Only normal stuns will work on it as a result of SAs or skills being used, and they will have a 4 turn cooldown.
    • Pincer Attack: Sand’s Claw will attack two times during its turn, targeting the player with the highest hate, and then the player with the second highest hate. Perform one attack roll for each attack.
    • Sand Cloud: Upon rolling CD 9+ and LD 10+ during one of its attacks, the boss will instead raise a cloud of sand from the beach, lowering each player’s ACC by -1 for their next two turns. This effect does not stack and any further activations will refresh its duration.
    • King’s Grip: On an MD 10, Sand’s Claw will lower the target’s MIT by 15 for the next two turns. This effect stacks up to two times, and any further activations will refresh its duration.
    • Bubble Spray: On an MD 10 and CD 6+, Sand’s Claw will instead hit the entire party for 125 unmitigated DMG, lowering every player’s EVA by 1 for two turns. This effect does not stacked and any further activations will refresh its duration.
    • Gobble Up: If the boss’ health reaches 2000, on its next turn it will skip its attack and start eating rocks. It must be hit with 3 or more Delay SAs until its next turn, otherwise it will expend it on healing 1000 HP. This can only occur once per battle.
    • Soft Skin: Once afflicted with Bleed, the effect will not wear off for the remainder of the battle.
    • Unguarded Sides: Area of Effect attacks consume twice the base energy, but deal 50% (rounded up) more damage.
  2. “Felix, I told you to stay home. Sometimes you're just so,” a large snoring sound as she drags Shiina behind her with a thick rope tied around the girl's armored frame. Twisting the loop one more time around Simmone’s hand. “Really wish you’d just wake up already,” saying in an irritated voice. Pulling the child through the sands that they frequented every morning. It was clear that Shiina was not a morning person. Seeing Sprinkle hop out of the chest piece, “Felix,” before Simmone could say anything else the cat was already on his ass, biting down on the scruff on his neck. Felix hops on Shiina for a free ride. Chest puffed out eyes closed just sitting there. “Really, I don’t know why I do this.” Without talking to the other people on the beach, Simmone goes straight for the water. “I bet you’ll wake up if I,” pausing as she lifts Shiina’s limp frame and throws her into the cold water.

  3. Her face finding itself numb with the tingle to which she could not fathom having once again. Arm outstretched it lends itself off the backside of the counter, as she leans her porcelain like skin using the thing like a pillow. The glass at her side purged completely of the red nectar that the bar had so graciously supplied. She was curbing the thought of a nap in this warm blanket of comfort, before a manacle is latched around her wrist. "I'm fine believe me, just go. I need a couple of minutes." Simmone brushes with an outstretched hand dismissively before she's yanked from the stool with a surprising amount of force. "What is so damn urgent!?" she barks with a sudden show of contempt. "Now is not the time, get Setsuna and lets go." A sigh escapes the woman's lips, and with it a response to the level headed fellow. "Your no fun. But what is new..." She'd look down to the plank on the floor. "Come dear, the buzz kill has no chill. Probably for the best, I got a cellar at home waiting for me."

  4. On the swordsman’s left flank, a woman clad in leather from head to toe. Strapped to her hip was a brilliant gold shine of her rapier. Thin fingers tighten the ponytail holding her hair out of her face and hopefully out of all the crap it could be dipped or splashed with in the coming battles. Such was the foolish bath-inducing ways of following Nisa, as Shiina referred to her as. Speaking of the devil incarnate, that child was keeping pace with her just as equal despite the clear height difference.

    “So what's on today’s agenda? Dragons, Golems again? How about a sewer?” The woman responded snidely. “Wait, I know. Let's not tell anyone and just dive headfirst into a troll's ass.” An obvious irritation on her tone, mainly because all these little journeys didn’t ever seem to amount to much. Other than smells and torn clothing, it seemed utterly pointless.

  5. A Drink on The House | 243584, CD: 9 -> Dry, Red Wine

    HiccupSim.pngA glass of wine stuck quite readily in spades upon the countertop. "After today, don't mind if I do." like the many she kept at the odyssey, Simmone well welcomed something she understood. Plucking it up by the stem she nursed the thing with a couple of swirls before it went down the hatch. The familiar taste, a decent aging and not too acidic. Nothing out of the ordinary... At first. But that telltale function of the stuff that she had long missed. The burning in her stomach that turned to butterflies, and her face flashed hot. "Oh, Oh my." She'd sit down on the stool, which creaked and threatened to snap in twain. "I've changed my vote, I think I love it here." Breathing deep to draw the friendly smell into her nose, she starts to nurse that cup like an old long lost friend had came to visit. "The voices, the birds, the labor and the crap shoot was all worth it. Its a dump but I think I'll buy it."

  6. Travel Back | 243580, LD: 14 -> Only you hear a murder of crows cawing your name over and over from the trees above. You swear one calls you by your real world name. But there are no crows. Or anything, as far as you can see.

    The wheel in place, Simmone starts to push it along with Raidou being one of the bigger party members. She wasn't exactly the strongest among the guild yet it was about akin to pushing a shopping cart. The wagon was doing most of the work. "Not much going on, I'd expected ghost pirates or something by now." Admitting to Raidou on her left, given that was the general run of things in this game. A squawk of a bird catches her ear, which she ignores at first until it dawns on her.

    "Simmone?"

    Her head turns to address its direction, finding a bird perched upon the roof tile. A silent glare sported on her face, it inhales looking down at her with its beady little black eyes.

    "SIMMONE"

    Again, clear as day the bird calls her by name. She exhales sharply and remarks her feelings to the others. "I hate it here."

  7. Unloading the Cargo | 243576, LD:13 -> You hear a voice that only you can hear. It speaks in tongues but you understand. Terrible things whispered into your ear, Once you depart from the vessel, the voice is no longer with you.

    Helping Raidou with the cart, the quest would appear at first glance to be no different then most. The sheer amount of delivery quests they'd undertaken confirmed it, despite their differing surroundings. Out of all, these usually were the easiest and Simmone welcomed the simplicity. Third up, she would ensure that Shiina didn't wander into who knows where and find herself into a much deeper mess. A click of her heels on off kilter ground is met with an equally off kilter sound. Murmurs and whispers which causes her to look to her companions. "Do you hear that?" As Raidou would wander onward to his own devices. The chittering would goad her to dive overboard, while others would invite her to hang herself on the mast. Not exactly the most welcoming invitations, and the only thing it manages to stir is her irritation. "You really don't hear that?" She'd look to Shiina who would offer only a shrug. "Let's get this over with, I'm done with ghosts being ANNOYING~." making full well a point to draw attention to the most important word.

  8. Pulling the strands of her hair apart to shove her pony tighter together, Simmone's heels click upon the wood. It is disheartening, the way it creeks makes her feel as though it is on the brink of giving way. Yet even still, she keeps pace with the others. Shortly into the door after the wanderer. Her nose would scrunch up. "This place reeks." as the potent fragrance of rot and dried something assault her nose. Couple that with the wet murk from outside and it was a world of bad flavors. A twist of her frame as she'd use both hands to raise a panel of wood and help herself behind the bar. The woman runs an outstretched finger down the length of it, finding an obvious line as she drags. "But for how long? Must be a century." Simmone remarks to her companion, before rubbing off the dust on her right hip.

    With the acknowledgment that this task could be done and not just an impossible task her mood started to look up. It was like gears were actually starting to turn. Taking a deep inhale sorta wishing that it was off her pipe but in battle it was nearly impossible. Seeing more spawn, just as quickly her thin blade was up and putting them down just as fast. They were so easy to kill, the treasure was bad but the aftermath was going to be worth it. Simmone starts thinking about the wine and bubble bath again. Weirdly she could picture Felix sitting on the edge of the tub being pet as well. That was sorta a ship that sunk ages ago though. The black feline didn’t like being touched unless he allowed it. Maybe he got that from her. Simmone doesn’t remember him always being that way. Blade in front of her waiting for more to come forth to meet their demise.

    Small charcoal fragments crush under the heels. Brushing her bangs back, they glued to her head causing a disgusted sound  to escape her lips. I was clear that she didn’t want to be in this environment any more. If they get the heart out of that thing then they get to leave. All they had to figure out was how. As she started thinking of all the scenarios that blade goes up and slices everything that just spawned. They burst into nothing as the chest of the creature started glowing again. An annoying sound comes from her lips as she looks at her team. There was no talking, no thinking that she could tell. Everyone except maybe Raidou seemed oddly focused, that intense stare that he gets when something is going through that brain of his.     Simmone could help but chuckle, there was no way to tell her that the volcano blast was just a happenstance without killing the buzz that the girl was very much on. Slicing a large X marks the spot, just wishing something good would come out of these buggers. They were clearly coming from the large limp creature so why was their loot pool not great in comparison. She was hot, sweaty and annoyed at the fact that it didn’t seem like they were leaving anytime soon. Closing her eyes for only a moment to picture the cool water against her skin with a cup of wine at her wake. Simple needs, it was so close yet so far away from being reality, she would almost touch it. Something flew way too close to her head as she flashed her eyes open swiftly looking around for whatever wanted to eat her precious skin.

    Maybe they would just eventually fade, or the creature laying on the ground would burst and the heart would just fall to the ground, game over. A few slices through the air toward the evil spawns from hell and it was over. Each pop like bubbles floating in the sky. Wiping her forehead, it was drenched. Gross thinking as her next thought was a long hot soapy bath that she would spend hours in just so that she would not smell that sweat that was creating its own liquid now. Simmone didn’t know what was worse, the freezing weather or the humid agonizing heat. Taking a deep breath knowing that focus was needed elsewhere right now but it couldn’t be helped. Simmone just wanted to get out of here sooner rather than later but it seemed that the longer road was going to be the unwanted option. “Why not just break the damn thing open for christ sake,” calling out as it sounds so simple out loud.

    Following the bouncing that the creatures were doing in the air, it was making her a bit dizzy. The moment they were aligned, a strike was made short work of. Making them into a shish kabob on her blade, “I would not eat you if you were the last thing on earth,” commenting in a disturbing voice as they burst letting the dead weight vanish. “Great, now I’ve just lost my appetite for a month.” Shaking her head, stepping back from the fallen golem. If something was going to happen like Raidou said it would, it was going to be soon. Simmone did not want to be in the blast radius of it all, whether it came back to life or exploded in flames. Walking the other way not too far from the group but enough that it wasn’t going to hit her if it reanimated. Weird to think that even the creatures they fight now don’t really stay dead. How Raidou knows this doesn’t surprise her in the least. That man has been and seen so many things.

    “Oh my, not at all what I expected,” taking her jacket off now and pulling the rapier out. No longer feeling like she was in quicksand, that weapon burst to life as the hissing, spitting cats began to gather together heading toward the group that collected in a group formation. The when was unknown but there was no time to question the actions of her party members. Putting her pipe away, walking forward slicing her thin blade through the air in a multi point star action as the sword art triggers and explodes every one of them. “Hmm that wasn’t so bad now was it,” speaking too soon as more commotion could be heard behind them. “I have to stop doing that,” Turning her frame, seeing nothing but several small bursts of flames residing behind the large rocks. No hissing or growling, it could literally be anything hiding. Did they think that we couldn’t see them, or did they know and just not care. Regardless the creatures made not a peep besides the sizzling that was seen from whatever form they took on. Simmone got into a fencing position to ready herself.

    The environment was left silent, all that could be heard was the waves and Shiina’s random outburst of excitement and of course the tantrum the weather was giving. Pulling on the long leather tapestry, pulling it against her chest covering her bits. Starting to get annoyed that no matter how well prep for these adventures went, it was still always the wrong stuff for the job. Glancing around the empty soaked sands that her heels now sunk deeper into. Even though the heavy rains clouded her vision slightly, there was still no movement outside the Firm Anima Group around her. To be honest she expected a bit more. Growing tired of the stillness, pulling out the long pipe and burning the content within, using her hand to cover it so it would light. Taking a deep breath in, smoke fills the area Simmone stood as she exhales slowly hoping that it would calm the building stress that was beginning to present itself.

    The gust of wind causes Simmone’s ponytail to sporadically swirl in every direction. Pushing her bangs out of her eyes now to see still very little. The giant thing was barely moving, this could be seen as it was glowing with a bright red silhouette saying -hey I’m here kill me-, making the mistresses plunge more effective in her opinion. A moving target was always harder to hit than a still one. Giving a grimace smile as the tip of the rapier pierces easily through the subject causing it to burst into nothing but small little shards in the fading winds. The weirdest part was that the skies stayed that greying color. Very curious, more so because it was clear when they first came out here. The woman couldn’t help but think that the bipolar weather was an instant reaction to a curtain white haired female's presence. Knowing that this day was yet to be over due to the several other occasions of the same crab fights, Simmone begins to dig through her inventory for the coat that was brought this time just in case.

  17. Glancing at the sight, it was like Gaius just absorbed the winds to use them for his own accord. That has never been done before, at least to her knowledge and Simmone knew quite a bit. Twisting that blade inside her palm as her vision becomes blurred by the turmoil that fills the air. Walking straightforward to find Gaius and Celeste who was fighting to get blasted away by the strong gusted area. Simmone’s hair was fluttering out of control even with it being in a hair tie. There was much to learn from this, pulling her Rapier back and thrusting it inside the thin layer of skin from the crab. It reels back in pain as the storm starts to subside. It was much simpler to move around, at least that was what she thought before she started to hear thunder crashing in the sky above. Clouds start to fill what was once blue, as lightning flashes within the depths of the brewing storm.

  18. A puff of smoke, there after a yawn and what sounded like horrific music being played in the back of the shop. Simmone knew that Shiina was not that bad so it could only be Sam. Weird when did she start that. Walking to the desk to get ready to do inventory thinking that Sam was slacking off again, there was a neat stack of papers marked today's date and check marks with numbers by the audited items. How late had Sam been up, did she even sleep. It would be clear that morning duties would be done so she would meet the others in the sands. Wondering just what they would be facing today, last time it was dragons, cold environment. Same with the time before that, maybe she should grab a coat. Wondering to the back and pulling it off the chair before finally heading out. After not too long her heels sunk into the tan shards, it was actually sorta chilly today.

    A pair of small glass spheres in a silver wire frames that sit in the ear as earrings. These glass baubles are about an inch in diameter and seem perfectly smooth like a crystal ball, trapped in a metal basket. Whenever the wielder's attention fixates on protection or safety, they glow in a dim red light that seems to emanate from within them as if encouraging their survival.

    The ping from the womans HUD would allow her to act, and with Shiina's blessing the woman fires like a meteor. Her heels click in ever increasing pace, before her rapier would carry her the rest of the way. Raking the top of the creatures body as it lay skewered, narrowly missing Raidou's planted straight sword with her lancing. The damage burns bright, removing the last bit of strength from the Demilich. It would lose the will to resist, and within moments of that damage sustained with would disperse into a cloud of black smoke, taking its removed arm and staff with it. "Is it over?" Simmone would ask with her response being the softest clap from her right. From the center of the room, she'd look on to see the woman in black, an pleased expression on her face.

    "Good Show, Jolly good show. I could not be more impressed heralds."

A sharp inhale tries to fight her breath stable, she presses her hand into her own bosom and sees a wave of cold spread out from the point of contact. Her bet was being placed on herself, like a show of faith in their groups capability. Simmone would not be fleeing this encounter, as she'd stare daggers at the towering figure in a black robe. Flicking her rapier out with a sweep of her left hand, she'd rip it to her left side before aligning the thing. Once that skill stasis fell she would give every last drop of what she had left, reaffirming her defiance and courage in one somber and wordless moment. Her eyes focus down that pointer, the point ready to fire the moment she could.

    Locking eyes with Raidou as the woman would move to greet him. "I'm fine, problems?" The black lotus applies in a mischievous twist to her tone, looking over this now three legged lizard. It was torn apart yet even still it seemed to be trying to get back up. Knowing full well given its stature it was the lord of this chamber, Simmone allows her weapon to burn angrily in violet. A singular punch of the edge into its eye would see it driven deep enough to hit anything vital. Like a syringe, it pumps its poisons before being removed. Using her foot, she pulls it out like a woodcutting hatchet. The bar upon it slowly drains, causing an aura of suspense as it rose the question: would it be enough? The entities within the room continued to rush across, trying their damned to prevent it. Then....

    the thing explodes and vanishes into a column of black smoke. Proving that between them all there was enough to make it happen. It took all of them, good god.

    As Raidou would cut the gap and Celeste and Kasumi kept the heavier foe busy, Simmone was free to adjust her positioning. Scampering in behind Raidou's back as he'd block a few blows quite readily, her rapier would ripen into a flash of purple across the gilded edge. Linked to the tip it would surge into a blaze, and with a pivot around Raidou's body she'd lance out connecting with one of the swords. It snaps at the point of impact, sending the top half clattering to the floor. Without a moment to spare she clicks her fingers and the other would immediately break, sustaining the same damage the other had. "Go." she'd place her hand upon Raidou's shoulder and look toward the back of the room, as black puddles continued to ooze out of the wall. "Finish this." she'd plead the swordsman, choosing to hold her ground and exploit her position. Trust flowed so easily between this seasoned team.

    Simmone would blink a few times as the creature huffed and puffed cold air from its lungs. There was so much happening all at once that she just wanted to go home to smoke, a very high possibility of drinking even though it didn’t do much. Just the act of doing it made her feel better sometimes. Stabbing her Rapier quickly into its chest as it was still low enough to reach, the beast fell to the ground in an almost laying down position. Shiina was hugging it and petting its head, as Nisahime walked right past Simmone. Setting a hand upon its snout, muttering a few words as it starts to glow bright white around them. After a moment the light fades and you can see instead of a burst of the creature, the white haired woman was somehow consuming the energy from the beast. It begins to break into little fragmented pieces before retreating in Nisahime’s gloved hand. After it was all gone there was nothing more than a dent in the snow and a Shiina face planted in the snow. A muffled voice from the girl as she hops up and starts rolling a ball of ice. Was she making a snow man after all this?

    Shaking her head a bit to regain her vision already feeling the coldness upon her body with a shiver to follow. Blinking as she glanced up to find, “Dragons, what an interesting sight. Wait where are we?” glancing over to tall mountains surrounding the area they were in. They seemed to be in a large open field covered in layers of snow, her boots sunk in just above her ankles, mid calf. Screeching in the skies before they start diving right toward the group, seemingly aiming right for Simmone. Pulling her Rapier out in almost a panic, a large dark blue drake lands with a huff mere feet from her. Another black the last two brown, they were very unique looking. A roar, slobber from their mouths as the weapon stabs into one. A twist in the same notion as it pierces another, shifting of her feet, jabbing the last two. They all pop at the same time, they worked like the mechanics of the game but this area was unlike any other that has been seen in her time here. Peering up fighting a very massive white dragon, eyes widened before saying “It seems that we are not done here.”
