Zaz only went another twenty or so feet before she found what she was looking for: a Calendula flower. She gathered the flower carefully as to not affect its integrity in any way and was pleased to find the flower was near perfect. The flower was quite lovely. It was bright orange, and maybe a two inches in diameter with many long skinny petals circling its lighter orange eye. Anna twisted the pretty thing between her fingers before adding it to her inventory.

“One down!†she said and smiled.

 Last time it took her forever to find even one piece of cotton, and here she was finding a flower within minutes of her walking the path. “It won’t stay that easy so don’t get too excited,†she warned herself. The forest around her began to get more densely packed and the light only streamed through the branches in smaller rays than it had before. “I must be getting closer to the flowering things I’m supposed to kill.†She told herself.

Azazel walked quite a ways from the town and headed toward the forest. She scanned the horizon looking for any herbs that she might pick, including the much needed Calendula, of course having learned from her original quest, that wasn’t going to be an easy thing.

“I’m probably not even near where I need to be.†She sighed as she continued to move down the path that led deeper into the wooded area. The breeze blew the branches high above her head which caused the trees to rustle and the sunlight that shown through the trees to flicker in patterns upon the road below. It was almost peaceful in this part of the map. It was probably because the creators wanted the players to feel at home on the first floor.  Anna closed her eyes and stood there quietly enjoying the sounds around her, the cool breeze that fluttered her long hair, and the rays of sunshine that fell upon her face for a few moments and then went back on the move. She had a lot of territory to cover before she could call it a day.

Anna had an in, the damn thing was wounded; now all she had to do was land a blow. She raced toward the beast, but the animal whipped about and lunged at her trying to pin the woman down. Zaz ducked and the animal flew overhead. She was terribly lucky. Had she gotten pinned it might have meant game over for her. “You’re going to have to try, I just can’t hit him.†Anna gritted her teeth rather pissed off at the circumstances.

“FINE!†Zaz whined and uncovered her eyes.

She grabbed her rapier and cut the boy free. “Now hurry up and put your things on.†She turned around and waited. Anna surveyed the room again sighing in dismay, “You did this didn’t you… that’s probably why you’re in the closet like that but I still don’t get why you’d have no clothes on.†She wished she could remember anything but last night was really fuzzy and nothing came to mind. As she looked around she realized that there was something missing: Maruchan. The puppy was always with the boy and since X was in the closet, the dog would have been to, but there was no puppy in the closet.

“Maruchan?†She called. “Where are you boy?†Anna looked under the bed.

“X… I don’t think he’s here….†She was worried.

Anna turned around to see that she’d been leaning on a closet and that the banging was coming from inside.

"Open the damn door!" A muffled voice came from inside.

“X? Is that you in there?†Zaz said as she crawled back from the door and reached for the handle.

The woman opened the closet door to find the boy sitting there with his knees to his chest; he was tied up and naked. Well mostly naked. His boxers were on, but not anything else. Zaz jumped up and away and she covered her eyes with her hands.

“OH GOD! WHY ARE YOU TIED UP? AND WHY ARE YOU NAKED?†she screeched. “Could you… I don’t know pull up your menu and put some damn clothes on? Of course you’d be the naked kid.†Zaz sighed.

“Tell me when you have your freaking clothes on please so I can untie you.†She told him. She was not taking her hands down till the little weirdo was clothed again. 

“I swear… this stuff only happens to me… You think you’d learn better Anna.†She muttered to herself as she waited for X to get dressed.

Azazel lacked a profession. Her original quest to become a tailor did not go well. Half way through the mission, she quit. The woman wasn’t proud of herself, but there was just no way that she could have completed such a terrible quest after it’d taken 24 hours to only get so far. If she had to spend days to complete the quest, she’d have died. Yes, died.  So what was a lady to do? Learn a different profession.

After much thought and reasoning Zaz decided that she ought to become an alchemist. Now in her original research she was against this idea, however, once she joined Absolute Pin and found that the guild lacked someone to make them potions and crystals. She knew that she would have to be the one to fill that spot. The bonus to alchemy was that she needed little equipment, and this was a skill she could perform in the field with the right set of tools. So Anna was off to visit the local Alchemist to begin her new profession.

Zaz was so glad that she had done all that research before. The alchemist’s shop was a tiny one hidden in the backside of an alley on some random road where it wasn’t easy to find. This was because she sold things that were of a less than light nature.  Zaz opened the door to the shop to find the woman as she did last time, busy forming crystals over an alchemist’s transfiguration circle.

 â€œHello again,†Zaz said.

“Oh… hello, what can I do for you miss?†The woman said to her.

“Well I came to learn about becoming an alchemist.â€

“Is that so?â€the woman laughed, “ I’ll teach you… but only if you can name me the three primes.â€

“Three primes?†Anna asked herself.

She remembered reading that phrase once during college while doing a research paper on this particular subject. She closed her eyes and tried to bring back the memory of her readings. The primes were materials that were supposed to have been the building blocks of everything and they all correlated with the body, spirit, and mind. They were elements from the periodical chart, not the ones most abundant in all things.

“Sod…no Salt, Murcury, annnd…. Sulfur! That’s it! The three primes are Salt, Mercury and Sulfur.â€

“Very good,†The alchemist said and smiled. “Not many get that right on their first try. I shall teach you to make the most basic and most asked for potion in Aincrad, the health potion. I’ll need you to collect five Calendula flowers and five Achiote. The Calendula, you must gather, while the Achoite, you get from fighting the Flowering Annatto in the woods not too far off from where you’d find the Little Nepent.â€

A request screen popped up with the quest details, and Anna clicked on the <<ACCEPT>> button.

“Alright then, I’ll be back!†Zaz said to the alchemist.

“See you soon!†The woman called back.

The boy was fine and Zaz was glad. Enough though she knew he was an adept fighter, she did not to have to one day tell any child’s parent that she was their when their kid died and could do nothing about it. But Fin got up and he charged back into battle like it was no big thing. Anna beamed s she watched him fight. Again his swing was off target, but she could tell he knew what he was doing. While the thing was busy with the boy, Zaz tried to attack it once more, but the agile creature sensed her coming and jumped away before she could. It seemed that she and Fin would be busy with this thing for a while.

“Mmmmm,†Azazel moaned.

It was dark and her head was pounding. The woman swallowed but felt no relief, her mouth was parched and her throat bone dry. She struggled to open her eyelids which were heavy and they grated over her eyeballs as if they were made of sandpaper. “Ughhh…†She whined and she lifted her head to see where the hell she was. Light finally reached her eyes though everything was still a bit blurry.

She found herself lying on the floor, drooling in her sleep. The woman sat up slowly and leaned on the surface behind her observing the space she occupied. The room she was in was a mess, the bed was unmade and the covers were strewn about, there was broken furniture, nothing was in its place or in an orderly state.  Anna lazily wiped the line of drool from her face and whined again because of the massive pounding in her head. “Why does my head hurt so damn bad?†she complained aloud. Drinking never did this to here, not here in Aincrad. This had to be something else.

There came a pounding on the surface behind her; she groaned and pounded back. “Stop making so much noise!†Zaz whined. “You’re hurting my head!â€

Anna walked along beside the adorable boy, and she was about to tell him that he was such until he opened his mouth and had to go and ruin it.

“A gentleman never asks a lady her age,†she said as she shot the younger boy a dirty look.By the look of him he couldn’t be any older than his early teens which, in her mind explained a lack of propriety on his part.

The woman was too busy stewing over Fin’s question that she didn’t notice the monster until it was upon them. The boy pulled out a book and looked something up, “Is now the time to be doing that?†she questioned the boy giving him a look. He closed the book, spit upon the ground and then took up his war hammer, trying to attack the beast before him. He failed to connect and the dog got ahold of Fin’s leg biting him. Anna drew her rapier and swung at the monster, but her strike was wide and she missed the thing. It did make the thing let go of the boy on the ground, and it jumped back putting distance between itself and Zaz’s weapon.

“You okay down there?†She asked the boy, not taking her eyes off the thing.

Anna really wasn’t sure where Teayre was coming from. Was she expecting her to be on the offensive with Kotori? If that was the case, then Tea was out of her damned mind! The point was to teach Kotori how severely lacking in everything she was and have the young girl get her head out of the clouds, it wasn’t to make Anna work with those she didn’t want to work with. That wasn’t ever going to happen.

They reached the cave and Teayre called for a skills/equipment rolecall. “Umm…yeah. That’s was putting it a bit too nicely,†Anna clicked her tongue and sighed rather ticked off a Tea for putting it liked that. Truth was Anna had zero faith in Kotori’s abilities. She didn’t have to see her fight to see that she lacked the character necessary to be an offensive fighter. Maybe one day when the girl stopped being naive and grew a pair, but that day was not today.

“I’m not the one being evaluated and you know what I have," she growled at Teayre before turning her sights back on little Kotori. "So why don’t you just post up what you’ve got so we can get this show on the road,†Anna said rather hostilely. 

“No duels today.†She said shaking her head. In her state she wouldn’t last long on her feet anyway and the boy would win by default. That was not something she could allow. No, Anna had something else in mind. It was an idea borrowed from Teayre, but it was a good one, so she was going to use it from now on.  The boy asked her which way and Zaz looked at their surrounds. “Ummm,†she said.

“We’ll goooo….†She pointed her finger,  â€œThat way. And we’ll keep going till one of two things happens: either we find trouble… or trouble finds us.†Anna gave a firm nod. She had never been to this floor before so she’d no idea of what she was doing, nor where she was going.

Zaz laughed and buried her face in her knees feeling her embarrassment. He was right. She’d only come this way because she knew she could run right back into town at first sight of trouble.  The woman felt ridiculously silly that she’d been so transparent and didn’t even realize it. She listened to the rest of what he had to say and sighed.â€Only the mad solo, huh?† Luckily for Anna she was as mad as a hatter. However, she kept that bit of information to herself.

Getting up on the floor Anna dusted her pants off as she looked out onto the horizon knowing that she was indeed ready. “Come on… how about I buy you some real breakfast.†She said and looked over to Cro. 

“Well I can’t help with generalities, only specifics. And as for fighting, that can’t be learned sitting your arse in a pub having pints. I d know how to assure your safety though†Anna began to count her rules off on her fingers. “Never hunt alone; never take on mobs stronger than yourself, level and skill up as often as possible. Be smart and make good decisions; this isn’t the place for heroics so don’t think you’re going to saving anyone. Make sure you make friends with a blacksmith and get yourself better weapons and armor as soon as you can.†Anna sat back and tapped her finger to her face in thought.

 â€œI think that covers everything.†She said and tossed back another beer before standing. “Right then… why don’t you get off your rear and follow me.†She told the boy.

Anna couldn’t believe her eyes. Life in motion was absolutely stunning. Everything motion was fluid and with purpose and he was ridiculously quick. He launched himself up into the face of the beast and landed a rather violent blow on the beast. The injury knocked the Mintoaur’s helmet off and it went rolling away. While the lovely Life was busy taunting the monster, Anna used the opportunity to strike. Her rapier slashed at the beast’s leg leaving a deeper red gash upon the back of the Minotaur’s lower leg.

When Anna told Fin to pick his trail ground she had no idea the silly boy would choose the freaking mountains or choose to do things so early in the morning. The woman put her hand over her mouth to stifle a yawn as she continued to climb up to where her indicator had shown the boy to be. Anna was exhausted from the night before. She’d gone on a bender with her guild; they’d built quite the rapport with the little party they’d had, but now she was paying for their night of excess.

The woman reached the meeting spot and found just who she was looking for. “Good morning!†She called out and gave the boy a wave before coming over to where he was. “So you ready kiddo? We’re going to evaluate your skills and see how well you handle things in the field.â€

Anna loved to drink in Delila. It was her favorite floor ever since she’d come here with Life, not only to enjoy the festival that’s gone on, but also because she fought a Minotaur here and actually lived to tell about it. She often liked to come to the Elven Song because they served Takoyaki, one of Anna’s favorite things to eat in game. In fact that’s basically lived off of: takoyaki and beer.

She walked into the bar and over to the counter. “I’d like an order of takoyaki, and beer please, like…. a lot of beer,†she asked. Zaz was about to sit down but instead she caught site of a familiar face and bee lined over to him to say hello.  She approached to find the man throwing back a shot like a true champ. He set the glass down and the commented on how much easier it was to down the drink sans foam. “I told you!†Anna said as she took a seat across from Cal. “You’re a fast study Captain America.†The woman looks up toward the bar and calls out, “Send us a bottle of something strong…†She turned back to the man and smiled mischievously.

“You didn’t have any plans for anything important did you?†

I'm getting ready for work but I will post tomorrow in the morning! Congrats on moving to 8th Grade!

Anna showed up to the bath a little late, but she had a problem choosing her bikini. She showed up in a rather revealing blue knit bikini that left very little to the imagination. She didn’t think anyone would mind it was supposed to be girl’s only. As she came out of the changing area she spotted something out of place, X.

 The woman’s sighed and strolled through the water and over to the boy, “Didn’t I tell you that it wasn’t nice to bother people?†Anna teased.  She spun the boy around and gave him a death hug, forcing his face right between her cleavage which was in full view for all to see. “Now then sailor, why don’t you be a doll and by me a drink! I haven’t seen you in awhile …†she continue to smoother the boy, “And you can catch me up on how you and Maruchan are doing.† She gave Tea a wink before speaking, “ Sorry darling, I’d love to stay by my young friend here is taking me drinking, aren’t you cutie?†she squeezed X who was still trapped within her bosom.

Anna let the boy go finally to let him catch his breath but only long enough for her to put him in a headlock and drag the boy away still snuggled right up against her mammoth melons. “Come on Maruchan…†She called the puppy as she lead his owner out of the bath and to elsewhere in the spa where they could drink.

X and Azazel exit stage right.

Anna was glad that X came along willingly. She looked back at the boy smiling, but in her mind she was just glad he wasn’t putting up a fuss; she did not want to end up like the gentleman the boy has just fought. “He’s pretty dangerous for a kid,†she thought as she continued to smile at him brightly as to give none of her thoughts away.

“That’s right… anything you’d like. Just food though. You’ve had more than enough booze for one day.†And with that, they went in search of something good to eat.

“Yes, yes… tall in stature, small in every other way.†She told the boy.

He put out his hand driving Anna back from taking his bottle, but she still continued to try and grab at it. Once he was done he decided to go and get more. “No… I’m getting you and Maruchan dinner and then you’re going to sleep this off!â€

She tried to the boy by the wrist, and lead him to what was good for him but that was a challenge. “Stop fighting!†She scolded him.

Now, Anna knew something was terribly wrong here. Only she couldn’t tell exactly what it was until X came over and began to talk to her again. "Say you know... You aren't that bad looking for an older woman... And that's actually true considering we look like this in real life also."

Anna tried to grab for the bottle in X’s hand. “Alright my tiny friend… you are cut off.†While it was very sweet of him to flatter her like that, she knew it was only because he’d reached an unsafe limit.

“Now be a good boy and give me the bottle.†

Finnick was a sweatheart!

He’d taken Anna’s job without compensation or agreement upon such, so the woman showed up as quickly as she could to rectify the situation. She scribbled a note and wrote down her payment information which would be due upon completion.
