  1. Sakuri's lips curled into a smile as she mentioned the front lines. She pondered whether it was one of remembrance or facade of loss. She wanted to ask but figured it was unimportant at the moment. He issued some concerns and asked her to take it easy starting out. "Well I do plan on becoming a front-liner. I want everyone to get out of here as soon as possible. Myself included. I know at my current level, I have no business on the lines but I wish to contribute soon." She pushed a stray strand of hair from her face before asking him a question. "What about you? What're goals?"

  2. Lancelot grinned as Jomei urged her on. She was feeling confident after that last attack and that was good for her. Taking the pre-motion stance once more. Her blade glowed a bright crimson. She could feel the attack build up and suddenly surged forward as she released all her energy into one focused attack. The boar burst into pixels as her blade cut across it's side. She jumped up excitedly as the pop-up menu displayed her gains. It wasn't spectacular but she was proud of herself for killing the boar with a sword art. "Thank you so much Jomei! That was awesome!"

  3. The one known as GALLahad, smirked after Lancelot introduced herself. She even retorted with some banter that Lancelot found amusing. "Arondight has... er... been misplaced so this blade will have to do for the time being. It seems my child keeps quite the company, but they seem harmless enough. I shall join you." Sheathing and removing her hand from her blade, she turned to the burly man who identified himself as Brokke and bowed. "To answer your question Brokke, I just so happened to stumble across your group. A chance encounter if you will."

Her name was shouted. Turning to the orange haired fellow, her eyes widened as she recalled just who it was. "Ahh Jomei! It's a shame I didn't recognize you beforehand," she admitted as the player rested a hand on her shoulder and reassured the group that she wasn't a threat to them. Turning to face him, Lancelot grinned and replied, "Of course! I can't get my butt handed to me by boars forever now can I?" It seemed the only one who seemed apathetic about the ordeal was the black haired player. He murmured something but covered it quickly with a question directed at Lancelot. "Well like I said, just out here training. I refuse to be carried by the front-lines forever. I plan on carving a path of my own!"

He then finally introduced himself and Lancelot smiled. "Nice to meet you Prostatis! So where are you guys heading? And you sure you don't mind me tagging along? Especially you son." She asked staring at GALLahad.

  4. "But where's the fun in that" she quipped through a stifled giggle. "But don't worry, your secret is safe with me. For now "she admitted with a devilish grin. Sakuri brought up the fact that she hadn't ordered anything yet. "No no, I'm fine. I like to keep what little col I can and the bread is tolerable at worst. I'm more concerned with gaining knowledge about the game. More importantly the top guilds at the moment, who's managing the front-lines and how floor clearing is looking. Because from my perspective we haven't gotten very far."

  5. The young man was hesitant. He seemed nervous and at worst; socially awkward. He seemed to be on the verge of just dashing out but eventually he stuttered out a go ahead. After introducing himself, he seemed to blush as he realized she had seen him falling over earlier. "I suggest a secluded area next haha!" He declared that he in fact wasn't a performer, nor would he ever consider it; but instead, a merchant. Taking her seat, Lancelot giggled again as he reddened and prodded her on how much she observed. "Oh you know, only enough fails and face-plants to make a small video montage. Nothing major hehe!"

  6. Lancelot slowly exhaled. She had heard their words and wanted to believe they meant no harm. But she could never be sure. This could be an ambush group. She'd keep her guard but reveal herself all the while. Hand to hilt as if ready to draw her blade at a moments notice, Lancelot came from behind the tree and eyed each of them quickly. All green players. The girl dwarfed her in height. She seemed to wield a straight sword judging by her scabbard and had an air of superiority about her. The large burly male wielded a hammer of sorts. Fitting if you judged off looks alone. Though judging by the conversation she could hear from earlier, he wasn't your typical giant guy. A darker haired male also possessing a straight sword seemed to be one who spoke the last words to get her out of her hiding spot and the final male had auburn hair average stature and wielded a rapier. Quite the bunch if you ask me.

What felt like minutes had only been seconds as she ended her analysis and focused on them as a group. "If what you say is true, then I also mean no harm. I'd ask what brings you all to this neck of the woods but I feel that is a tad cliche. My name's Lancelot. Pleasure to meet you all," introducing herself with a slight curtsy.

  7. The baby boar grunted as it hooves dug into the ground. Preparing for an obvious charge, Lancelot readied herself for another dodge. The beast ran straight for her. She waited for the right moment just as she did before. When the boar neared, she quickly stepped left, but was surprised to see the boar had lifted its tusk in attempt to follow her and it succeeded. Staggering back briefly, Lancelot gritted her teeth, and retaliated. Her blade leaving a red crescent across the boar's body. Smirking she realized this is the first point of damage she's ever dealt. "Two more solid hits like that and I  might take it out haha!"

  8. Jomei's words of encouragement allowed her to focus on the task at hand. Watching the boar rush her, she waited for it to come just close enough so that it couldn't change course. She side stepped it's charge as it went flying by her. Going on the offensive, she slashed her blade diagonally across the boar only to realize that she had missed completely. Her aim was off and it was showing. "Tch. This isn't a positive showing but it is learning nonetheless. I'll hit it next time for sure," she whispered to herself.

  9. Lancelot grinned. Her attack seemed stronger than she imagined. His praise only boosted her confidence. Though she knew she was still limited. The sound of respawning alerted her to the little pig's return to the floor just a little further up ahead. Jomei then asked her whether she wanted to battle the boar or battle him. Looking at the pig, she figured it had to be terribly weak.  However what better way to learn the basics.

"That little boar seems easy enough. I'll try my luck against it first." Gripping her blade, she dashed forward towards the boar. Raising her blade high once more, she waited for the feeling from before. However, it never came. Changing plans, she averted her attack altogether and got on the defensive. Well that was a bust. I'll get it for sure next time.

(OOC: I'm in no rush to gain Col or loot yet so I made the boar frighteningly weak for obvious reasons. It will also attack at the start of my next turn!)

  10. A small grin crept from her lips as Jomei explained that there was nothing to be ashamed of. He led them to a boar. This one of smaller stature than most. Probably a level one or level two boar. She thought. He demonstrated an art and quickly dispatched the boar before them. Crystal floated through the air and the glow of his blade subsided. "A natural feeling eh?" She held her blade high. Pointing it towards the gleaming sun. Allowing her am to relax briefly, she felt the blade vibrate in a way. Looking above her, the blade shimmered a crimson color. She could feel the energy building up and once it felt full, she brought the blade down. Sparks flew as it clashed with the shield. She staggered back a bit, as the shield deflected her attack but was happy nonetheless. "Like that?" she inquired.

  11. "That's Madam Lancelot to you, " she giggled in response. She watched as he drew his blade, a rapier and beckoned her forward. Drawing her own sword, she followed. The fields were mostly barren. The boars she noted earlier seemed to only want to graze on the grass that never stopped growing. The man before seemed a little sluggish. His body not as chipper as his personality. Not wanting to call him out, she kept the thought to herself and continued to follow him.

A question escaped his lips and for once Lancelot blushed a bit in response. "I haven't the slightest idea about sword arts. I think I read about them. There is an infinite amount of them if I recall correctly, but aside from that, nothing, " she admitted.

  12. "I'm fairing well, if I do say so myself, " she replied with a soft smile. Her eyes seemed to widen as a pint of hot chocolate was placed before her. She immediately brought the cup to her lips and felt the warm liquid pass her lips as it traveled down to her stomach. Instantly warming her body and making her happy. He then offered her a question. "Plans? Not necessarily. What'd you have in mind? Ahh where are my manners? My name is Lancelot. Pleasure too meet you," she replied as a small, still semi-frozen, hand crept out; hoping to receive a handshake.

  13. Wooden steps creaked as her foot weighed down on them. Descending the stairs, Lancelot looked around for the male performer. Towards the middle of the room he sat. Glancing at him briefly, Lancelot made her way towards him. He seemed to grow nervous at the thought of her coming towards him. Oh this is almost too perfect. Awkward and performer jitters? She thought to herself as she neared the man.

"Mind if I take a seat?" She asked, gesturing to the empty seat in front of him. "My name is Lancelot. Pleasure to meet a future a performer." She added with a sly grin and slight giggle.

  14. "And here I thought I was being unique. But I suppose given the the game we're in, that names like Lancelot, Galahad, Percival and the sort would be taken."  Lancelot did a small curtsy. She followed his eyes back out to the fields and observed. As he mentioned combat, she grinned slightly. "It's not that I was eager per say but rather I was ready to defend myself haha." Shae admitted as small giggle escaped her lips. Running a hand through her long, near knee length hair, Lancelot gave it a thought before finally deciding. "Better sooner than later. Show me the ropes Jomei."

  15. "That's not reassuring," she stated as she moved her hand from her blade. She looked around briefly, taking mental notes of where a few boars had recently spawned and the count of players around them. Gazing up a the newcomer, Lancelot stepped forward and offered her hand. "Lancelot is the name. Yours would be?" She inquired as she awaited his handshake. He seems harmless enough. Polite I suppose and his accent. Irish was it? Interesting...

  16. A sudden voice cracked the air of silence. Lancelot turned around to the sight of a fairly tall male player. Decent stature, disheveled auburn hair, and creepy approaches to boot. Her hand found the scabbard of her blade and rested it there as she greeted the player in front of her. "Hesitant ? Maybe so, but I'm out here and I'm honestly disappointed with how tame this area is. Though I should remain cautious. Especially when others like to prowl about and prey on innocent girls."

  17. The man fumbled around a few more times before decidedly hanging it up for the day. He seemed to be satisfied with his efforts, though Lancelot thought them to be less than spectacular but rather amusing. Either way, as a performer, being funny can get you a long way. Focusing back on the player below, Lancelot eyebrow rose as he made his way inside the inn she was currently peeping from. Grinning to herself, Lancelot made her way downstairs to greet the player.

  18. Lancelot wasn't a fan of snow but somehow found herself on the fourth floor. Snow fell aimlessly around her frame as she marched through mini-blizzard. She needed to locate a safe place to camp for the evening. All the inns seemed pack and player housing wasn't yet available. All she could hope for was a warm room that'd get her through the night. A few lights danced on the edge of her vision as she continued to trudge on. Her feet guided her towards the light and for once that was a good thing. A tavern crept into view as she neared the lights. Lightly pressing her frozen hand to the door, she gave a weathered push. The wooden door slowly creaked open. Quickly stepping inside, she was surprised to see a room full of people who most likely had the same goal; keep warm.

She glanced through the crowds. She didn't recognize anybody, but a good look at everyone's face reassured her that there wouldn't be much trouble. She spotted an empty seat near the bar. She quickly sat down and got the barkeeps attention. "1 Hot Chocolate please." The burly man behind the counter nodded before heading off to make her drink. Turning to her left, she noticed that there was a player who seemed to be lost in thought. "The cold makes you think of warm times huh?"

  19. Seconds turned to minutes as Lancelot waited for any one person to come to or through the gate. No one seemed interested in passing through. Having grown tired of waiting, she quickly pushed herself from the post and turned to face the grasslands that laid ahead. Taking a deep breath, she forced an exhale as she placed a foot outside the safe zone. Her other foot soon followed suit. One after another, her steps led her all the way into the fields. Luckily there were no boars around. She observed the area. Grass covered most of the floor save for a few bushes and cluster of flowers here and there. Sighing, she thought to herself, well that certainly wasn't as bad as I thought. I should've done this ages ago.

  20. A young man had caught her eye. Average stature, black hair, and a knack for face planting. Lancelot giggled to herself as she watched the player continuously fall over as he tried to perform handstands and balancing forms. He seems to be a performer. Although he isn't very good yet. I wonder what made him choose such a profession? She moved the thought away as she continued to watch him. Finding amusement in his inability to complete a handstand for more than a mere three seconds.

    (OOC: You're quite alright!)

  21. A calm breeze swept through the town of Tolbana. Windmills lined the area and rotated as the wind grazed its arms. Lancelot observed the street below from the window of an inn. She had been staying there for the most part considering the Starting City was vastly overcrowded. Her gaze bounced from one point of interest to another. Never settling on anything for too long. The usual NPCs moved along like clockwork and rarely did they ever receive visitors. The sight before her was growing boring and she begin to turn away when something, or rather someone, caught her eye in the distance.

  22. The central plaza of the starting city was as busy as ever. Ever since the tragic day of Kayaba's announcement and the sealing of their fate, many players have resigned to just living within the first floor. Others immediately moved on. Wanting to clear floors as soon as possible. Then there was Lancelot. While she wanted to gain strength and move up the floors, she knew she couldn't do it alone. She needed help and though she was too proud to admit it, she knew it was true.

Brushing past the seemingly endless spectators, Lancelot made her way to the exit gate. There she paused. Turning on her heel, she posted herself against the post leading to the fields. There she would wait for a passerby that would be willing to lend her a hand. It didn't necessarily have to be combat, any knowledge would do.

  23. (OOC: I wanted to join sooner but Journal acceptance and irl troubles kept me from it. If it isn't to late I'd love to join in.)

Leaves draped the ground as Lancelot weaved her way through the foliage. The information she had received about the area was rather scarce for a floor that has been so actively traveled through. She paused a moment to catch her breath as she leaned against the base of a tree. Noises filled the air as she listened to her surroundings. The rustling of the leaves in the wind, the flutter of wings a flight, the crunch of twigs being stepped on. Stepped on? Pressing herself firmly against the tree, Lancelot gazed around the tree's edge before quickly ducking back behind it.

Four of them. One female. Three male. Stronger than myself sadlyPeering around the tree once more, she felt something crack beneath her foot. Suddenly one of the male players whipped around and quieted the group. Did they see me? Nonetheless, I'll draw my blade. I'd hate to have to fight players when I haven't even fought a boar yet... She then drew her sword. A beginner's weapon surely, but it would have to do for the time being.

» About: Born in Kyoto, Japan, Ryuki had it relatively easy as a child. She never seemed to have problems in school. Grades being something she was proud of. She performed well academically all throughout her life and even graduated in the top 15 of her class. After graduation, she was given the opportunity to study in the States and as such she took the chance and moved California with her aunt and uncle. College wasn't anything she expected, while she excelled as normal, her social life was quickly diminishing. As such, she found comfort in playing video games.

She had a knack for MMOs and RPGs alike. Going as far as trying to become the best in whatever new game she was getting her hands on. As time moved on, she graduated from college with a Bachelors Degree in Computer Programming something she decided on doing after having a new found passion for gaming. After calling her family to to inform them of the news, she was pleasantly surprised to find out her father had some how managed to get a NerveGear system and that it was being sent her as a gift for all her hard work.

With the new system in hand it was a no brainer for Ryuki to figure out what her next purchase would be. The much anticipated release of Sword Art Online had the entire world buzzing. Saving up her funds, she waited days, prior to the release, in line for a copy. Lucky enough to get one of the ten thousand sold items, she promptly inserted the game and started it up. Little did she know her career would have to take a backseat as she adventured on into the virtual world.

    » Virtues:
(Adaptable): Having gamed for quite awhile now, Ryuki has developed lightning-quick mental reflexes that her to adapt easily to sudden changes around her. If someone attacks her head on, she casually steps aside. If ranged weapons come flying at her, she has enough sense and timing to get out of the way.

(Dependable): Her word is worth as much as gold. If she commits herself to anything, be it a project, quest, or task , Ryuki's trustworthiness will see to it that everything is done to the best of her ability. In game she will be a reliable ally and won't just leave her party hanging. You can count on her to complete whatever task she sets her mind to.

(Perceptive): Ryuki notices the smaller print in the contract. She is aware of the shady guy in the corner.  Her senses are fined to smaller details. Minute observations are second nature to her and she hardly ever overlooks important clues. This keeps her on her toes in battle and can prove to be one of her greatest virtues.

    » Flaws:
(Reckless): Ryuki seems to lack the emotion of fear. Which may result in her doing some quite foolish things. She doesn't hesitate to enter the fray even if there's a possible chance of being outclassed by those she may encounter. She doesn't flinch when mobs roars in her face, and she won't flinch if you're in her face.

(Proud): Ryuki hates to be pitied. She has worked for nearly everything she has and if anything has the slightest feel of charity to it, she'll refuse in a heartbeat. She earns her keep and will not accept anything without earning it. In game this translates as her not accepting gifts or free stuff from anyone be it out of kindness or pity.

(Impatient): Ryuki prefers if things get done in a timely manner. She hates having to wait on others which can cause problems in drawn out battles and planning for raids. If she feels you're wasting her time, she'll lightly tap her fingers on the hilt of her blade before either berating you or getting it done herself.
