Still that meant that a player that wandered into this garden would have to answer to the guardian, for even stepping foot into it.  The unfortunate nature of people will make them want to farm the mobs or gather or fish in the springs.  Any of these actions were able to secure the annoyance and rage of the guardian, and the boss fight would commence from there.

Hirru would look to the man after sending the line back out once more.  Nemo had went back to being busy taking care of his garden.  The hedges needed trimming, it seemed.

As soon as lure would drop, one could tell that something wasn't right, and he pulled it immediately.  Of course, the bloody fish or whatever else was in there had stolen it.  Probably the bloody gilded hands..  Hirru never really liked them and made sure to always steer clear of trying to catch, or just ignoring them so they would run away.

  17. While the man was one that could be reasoned with, the boss itself was not.  There was a proper guardian to the garden of eden, but it wasn't what one would expect.  The man himself was the guardian!  Shocking, but one could easily see the warning signs as they popped up.  The issue was more of the strength of Nemo.  He would transform into this elegant dragon like creature and force you into leaving the items obtained in the garden, or lose your life.

Obviously, not many players would ideally leave everything that they farmed to some gardener turned boss mob.  So they would raise up arms against the guardian of eden.  They would soon learn that there are reasons to work in groups.  The boss works in an odd way, more akin to certain events.  Though, that could also be that the garden could be found on any floor.  Eden is everywhere, it seems.

  18. All in all though, Nemo wasn't there to destroy the players.  He was there to protect what was part of his little paradise, and tending to said paradise could make one covet and paranoid.  As a quest NPC, Nemo is a simple gardener that brings the player in to marvel at the paradise that he has made, but not touch it.  As players in a game, we are all going to touch and prod and poke at everything that we see.  Regardless of if we're supposed to or not.

For a being that would be so covetous, one would think that if their finely crafted garden and paradise were to be mutilated, in any way, that they would not be the most welcoming host afterward.  Your assumption would be correct, as the little man would fidget and squirm at every item taken and mob slain.  His temperament would not be squelched so easy.

  19. Casting his line into the water, the hunter settled into sweet serenity that the little garden would give.  The creatures that called this place home were hostile only to those that disturbed them, so if you sat still and did nothing, most would come to you.  Though, the hunter was not hunting them, as he was just here to level up his fishing even more than before.  There wasn't much else to it.  The garden had some sort of farming specialty to it.  Everything in here was of abundance: mobs, fish, materials, etc.  There was much to find in this little garden that could be found on any floor, but you still had to deal with the one that tended the garden.  The secret boss of this garden, Gaia's Wind, Nemo.

    <<Re: Nature's Treasure: Little Eden>>

"I have had many visitors and you are but one of many.  It is still so good to see you again, my friend."

A smile would come to the hunter's face as he heard these word coming from the gardener and guardian of the Little Eden.  There had been some time since he had last ventured to this place to work on his fishing technique, but it was taking too long for him to get anywhere last time.  It was now that he had the buffs from the fishing through Baldur's multiple ponds, and the recently gained Amphitrite's Net, that the hunter could easily burn through his profession to soon gain the immaculate Gleaming Scales.  These things were incredibly hard to find in the wild being found at extremely low instances of mob loot, chests, and fishing.  Though it would be easier to burn through mobs fast, he wasn't able to do so anymore.  This was his next best option without having to call on someone's help.

Hirru had taken some time to venture out through Ronbaru to find the silly little guardian waiting for adventurers to send them to his garden.  Though, if he's never seen them before, Nemo was known to attack new players to his garden.  Though, after a swift defeat, the guardian would be more receptive of the players actions.  It's just too bad that the man still 'feels' their pain.

    "Fishing again?"

"You know it.  I don't harm your friends, unless your gloved friends decide to pop out of my chests."

    "Just let them run."

    "No promises."

    Quest Rewards:

    • Any materials and loot that you find/gather.

    Requirements:

    • Speak with Nemo about a special dungeon near the edge of the floor.
    • Roleplay travelling to Little Eden (minimum of four posts) with Nemo.
    • Optional: Defeat rare monsters for loot.
    • Optional: Go fishing in the river for treasure.
    • Optional: Search for chests.
    • Optional: Search for materials throughout the garden.
    • Defeat  <<Nemo, Wind of Gaia>> (only available for the first time clearing this quest).

    Summary:

A rumor has begun to spread far and wide across Aincrad. Players and NPCs alike speak of a special dungeon that offers great wealth and riches for those that can defeat its guardian. Players speak of a lonely NPC that cares for the garden held within its depths, and guides anyone who requests to enter it. However, NPCs warn of a powerful monster that lurks within, attacking players who dare to “steal” from the garden, leaving them gravely injured, or simply killing them outright. You search out the NPC, seeking to enter the garden, and gather materials and loot. Eventually, you come across the NPC introducing himself as Nemo. He guides you to Little Eden, showing the way to the garden within the depths of the dungeon.

As you begin to gather materials, loot chests, fish in the river, and defeat monsters, you notice that Nemo seems to be growing more and more agitated with your  actions. When you make ready to leave, Nemo forcibly stops you, demanding that you return what you have taken. Your eyes focus on his name and health bar, and, much to your horror, you see that somehow his health pool has grown significantly larger, and his name has changed. It seems that the boss was really Nemo in disguise.

After defeating Nemo, he concedes to your strength, and gifts you a special crystal that activates a warp panel at the center of the garden, allowing you to leave the Garden.

    Outline:

After accepting the quest, you travel alongside Nemo to Little Eden, and make your way into the depths of Little Eden, reaching the garden at its very core. You have the option of fighting rare mobs, each of them offering their own challenges and granting increased rewards upon their defeat. <<Gilded hands>>, which are rare mobs not spawned by usual means, grant a bonus 1000*Tier col and 3*Tier Materials upon their defeat.

Upon trying to leave the dungeon, you will be unable to find the way that you came in, and will have your way blocked by Nemo, who transforms into the dungeon boss.

The following bonuses are applied when performing the following actions in Little Eden:

    • Gathering | LD rolls of 11-14 give 1 material. LD rolls of 15+ give 2 materials. For players with the Foraging Profession, this works alongside their profession's material-gathering chart. CD thresholds are also reduced by 1.
    • Fishing | For players with the Fishing Profession, CD thresholds for the Fishing Skill are reduced by 1.
    • Treasure Chests | A natural LD of 1-3 results in two <<Gilded Hand>> mobs.
    • Looting Mobs | Mobs that satisfy the loot minimum always drop (HP * 4) col and 1 Material as default drops, before other upgrades and aspects of the loot table are taken into account.

    <<Nemo>>
A kind gardener that cares for and tends to the many plants and mobs that live in Little Eden. He happily guides players there, though he gives them a warning about “stealing” from the garden. Nemo will greet the player as a friend on repeat visits. However, he does not seem to remember fighting the player, and will react in a confused manner if questioned about it, brushing aside any questions of the sort. Gets upset with the player if they kill mobs while he is nearby, expressing pain at their actions towards the creatures of the garden.

As the player nods, he lets out a dejected sigh. "Figures... not much I can really do about it, I guess." Nemo sighs, his gaze falling to the floor.

"Make sure you visit again, okay? I want to be able to talk to you again!" Nemo moves to the center of the field once more, and taps the ground with his foot, revealing a beautifully made warp panel, formed from a blue-green material that glittered in the light. "Stay safe, out there, and visit again soon! You know where to find me!" Nemo begins waving goodbye to the players, before moving off deeper into the garden.

  21. "We really need to stop finding each other in these predicaments."

Finding the wandering cook in yet another thicket, the hunter was wondering if he had competition as the roaming caravanner.  Dropping off the end of the Travelling Flame, Hirru came to Demian for a simple thing.

"I'm here for an ambition food.  Trying to up my fishing experience."

It was there that the hunter found a single pink cookie like thing.  It would seem poofy, and seemed like it would be light in flavor.  Though, knowing Demian's cooking, it would have something slightly off with it.  Appraising the stats, the little thing was indeed what he was seeking though, and with a smile would initiate the trade.

"I'll take that pink cookie thing."

Paying the materials needed, and leaving after confirmation.

    Macaron | AMBITION | 1,000col / 3 materials
A crunchy, luxurious treat that comes in a variety of flavours. Mild.

  22. "Oh?  I figured you to have been venturing more during my early raiding days, not after my betrayal."

He could say that part lightly now, as it wasn't something that he took as a bad time anymore.  HThe fact that he wore both the insignia of the dark elf royal family of the 23rd floor, on his headband; and, the shield shaped ring that was the dormant form of the Fate's Armament, of the 26th floor would say something.  They were both floors that he had significant relation with and had the most trouble over.  He would smile softly at the notion that the ripples of it were both blessings and curses.

    "Sorry, I'll continue.  I didn't join them."

His head would come down as this was where everything started to fall.  There were so many that left them.  Not in the guild having lost members, although it did happen, it was the loss of life.  The time he worked as a hunter for hire and the guilds that he worked alongside.  There were so many times that the hunter thought that there would be something that would drag him down.

"Looking back, I wish I did stay with them.  It would have probably made the next part of the story less tragic.  Though, the past is the past."

Mack was still receptive of his friend and had made the green haired pioneer their Liason with the solo players.  It wasn't much, but still kept him tied to the group in a way.  They would separate, but there were things that lurked in the darkness that wanted them gone.  One of the guild members had gone out to hunt some mobs.  The guild would find out later what happened.

"They lost one of them due to a hunting incident.  Lindow was his name, and he was probably one of the older players caught in our little world.  We only got the information about him from someone that he knew.  A silver haired girl whose outgoing personality seemed far too out there, and a significant character in our story; Opal."

The funeral service that they gave for the man was dark and heavy, but full of honor.  They had marched from the teleportation in full garb.  As the uniform was essentially a look alike to the Game Master's cloaks, it caused slightly alarm to the Town of Beginnings back then.  Five cloaked beings walking with hoods up, marching together towards the Monument of Life.  The green pioneer had rushed there to find it, just to see if they were lying to him.  The name of the man was crossed out in front of them, they would say their last goodbyes.  A set of robes, neatly folded, would be placed down to let the durability run out faster.  The shattering would be them sending their fallen brother off of this mortal coil.  The silver haired woman was crying so hard.

"I remember giving the last rites.  Sending him on, which was when we learned from the woman there that he was tailing some people and calling it a 'hunt' to dissuade us from leaking anything accidentally."

The hunter would shake his head.

"It turned out he died from a player getting the man stuck in a spider spawning lair.  It wasn't an incident.. but a murder."

  23. "Good one!"

He said aloud before looking at everyone stats and figuring the blows that were coming from the larger than life boss.  It's attacks were being mitigated or evaded by Freyd, and the man was easily healing over them on his own.  It wasn't that the man had incredible stats going, as the hunter knew him slightly better.  The man liked to hit things more than take the hit.  His stats and buffs would have been for dealing more damage than preventing.  Even so, he was pretty high level now, so Freyd should have a high end Battle Healing, if anything.  That his mitigation should be high enough to tank a bit, if he was our main tank for this raid.

So why was the boss doing barely nothing to them?

There must be some kind of explanation to it, but there didn't seem to be anything coming as of now.  The boss was doing nothing outside of reacting to them.  It was still only staring out the door, but not doing much to leave.  Was it.. not allowed to leave due to being a boss?  Or, are they actually doing something to keep it there.

    "This.. isn't right."

Looking back at the stats, Mina was eating her energy reserves to the point that the hunter wasn't going to keep up with her.  With that, he would throw the Hyperactive trait her way.

"If you're going to be active, might as well be hyperactive."

  24. "Well, yes.  It was someone."

The fireflies seemed to fall back into their silent dance, flickering ever so calmly in the dark.  He felt it a strong contrast to that day.  The darkness of his eyelids as they shut in fear of the end to come, though it didn't seem to come.  A few moments later, he could hear the shattering that was evident of something dying.  Was it him?  Would he even be able to open his eyes if he was about to die?  There was only one way to find out as the man opened his eyes.  The shattered polygons surrounded him, but they didn't seem to come from him.  Looking from where he thought the boar was, there was someone standing over him.  Their sword was aglow in a bright red light which seemed to dull down.  There was a small trail of dim light that seemed to have trailed off of it that signaled the after effects of the art, <<Slant>>.  Although, he wouldn't know that until the man would turn to introduce himself.

"His name was Ignalo.  He was a player that was a little more seasoned than the green haired man.  He had dark brown hair and had the same new armor that most new players would have.  His armor was metal though, unlike the green horn's leather armor.  He had seen the guy struggle and stepped in to help.  It was that moment that set in motion so much more."

Helping the man up, Ignalo had thought that the jade player would be better off staying in the Town of Beginnings.  The green player would shake their head saying that they were going to start out on their way.  Just like those that have done so before.  The guy could only scold the player after seeing such a sad display.  It would be then that the knowledgeable player would teach the green player how to use sword arts, and how to survive.

"He taught me how to use to use sword arts, and fought many boars and wolves together until the next village.  He left after that, and I haven't seen that player since.."

Memories would flash by as he recalled the man dipping his head into the fountain of the first floor, and meeting the violet brawler, Jevi and silver haired tank, Xion.  The later would become his first friend as they would go onwards to make a goal.  The goal that so many others had so long ago, but to move through to the second floor, with their own two feet.  There was only one way to do that, and that was to venture through the first floor labyrinth.  The ones that went with him were the silver haired tank, Xion; the shady fighter, Beoreson; and the boisterous crimson haired axe wielder, Mack.  They would work alongside the green pioneer through the labyrinth and more.

"Quite a feat so long ago, but now that the floor boss was gone, the labyrinth was mostly just low level hunting grounds.  We tried to make it to the top, and we did.  Xion, Beoreson, Mack, and I were able to rush through the first floor at such low levels and appear on the second floor.  It was that group that brought me towards a future in the front lines."

There was the brief encounters of players and npcs, but none that made the man wonder about the outside world more than the interactions with his friends.  What made them want to rush through these labyrinths so much that they would risk ending their very lives over.  Everyone had one life to live, and it would be better for him to learn more of the inner world than the outer world.  Though, as time passed, the outer world kept creeping back into his mind.  He could not shake it, and would think that there was a connection somewhere in this world.  He became a scout, or more so a pioneer to blaze new trails through this forsaken castle.

"It was around when I started running dungeons on the 5th floor, that Mack would ask me to join him and a few others in a little get together.  It was more so to talk about forming a guild, The Crimson Blades."

Sitting in that little room, the seven players would come together come together for one reason.  Each would introduce themselves to the rest, although most already knew each other roughly.  It was when the leader of the group, Mack would introduce them into being in a guild that something seemed odd about the green pioneer.  He was uncomfortable here.  There were too many people here.  He knew them, but could he fight and die for them?

"Sorry if I'm spouting too much.  Telling the story seems to be getting longer and longer as time goes on.."
