Did they do something wrong?  The bosses health bar was in the red and barely a blip left.  Though, it had been a blip for several attacks now, and with Wulfrin's disabling strike, they would finally have the opportunity to do something without doing nothing.  That feeling didn't really seemed to help too much though.  What could one do with a boss that didn't want to die?  There was a slight thought of doing something stupid again, but that wouldn't work.  The boss didn't have a sense of self to even thing of doing such a thing.  Also, he felt that certain people in the group would take it too kindly.

    "Mari!  Stand down for now!  Let your energy recover."

    Everyone was starting to wonder if there was something that they were missing or something that needed to be done.  There were too many factors to think about, but he was certain that something may be happening outside the fight.  Last few raids seemed to have events that corresponded to what could happen in them.   This one was seeming to help them in special ways.  He had seen what was happening here and there.  Some of them having more damage and his own energy replenishing more than it should have.

    "I'm not sure, but it may have to do with the players out there.  There may be an event that they need to finish before we can finish here."

  2. There it was.  He was wondering when one of these attacks would come about, but as it came, it felt at odds with what he thought would happen.  The swinging chain attack would slice and slash through them all.  As they did, their health would only dwindle a little, but that was only a tickle compared to what happened after.  The shattering effects of the weapon would splash over them all.  Hirru could see the effects of burn, blight, frostbite, and bleed as each hit would ring out.  There wasn't much time to act and Hirru would have to be reminded of who among them had an antidote ready for use.

    As his antidote would kick in, the hunter would look to see who had not had that effect kick in.  Nearly everyone had their antidotes kick in at roughly the same amount of time between their own damage taken to when it proceeded to engage.  The only one that did not was Mari, so as the last of the light rings would end upon her, so too would another ring fall upon her head.  A dazzling light would sprinkle over her before all of the damaging effects would fall off, as if they were bled from her very body.

    "That should do us.  I'm starting to run low on mass heals, if this keeps going like this."

    He would think about throwing the line out once more, but the talks were starting to get more and more involved.  Also, what was going on in that last part.

    "I've been told that by everyone else too, and that I shouldn't hold it against myself.  To not let everyone else's opinions affect me.  So, I think I can joke about it a bit here and there, but I don't think it would be a great conversation starter either."

    He would give a slight snicker before addressing the request that Mari would make of him.  Looking at his list of runic inscriptions, he would eye ball things for a bit, but would come up with nothing.

    "Madness?  Pretty sure that isn't a rune that I can appraise."

    Still thumbing through, he would remember where he saw that name from.  It was from the last raid when they were struck with the 'madness' damage over time effect.  He was still researching the effects on that, but didn't really want to waste the two items he had.  Though, in the end, they were not that powerful against them, and he wasn't going to be able to use a weapon enhancement in the near future anyway.

    "I do have these floor boss drops.  Replaces a slot with the madness rune.  If you want that, then I'm not too caring for it.  Here."

    He would send a trade offer to Mari, almost nonchalantly.  He didn't care for the items, and only got them cause he figured one of the people he knew would want them.  Instead, he had been carrying them for no reason.  Better to sell, but who knows what kind of person would buy and use such a thing.  Better to give it to someone he could roughly trust.

    "Just don't let them cause any issues with it.  Madness against a player could be worse than anything else out there.  Except Paralysis, fuck paralysis."

  4. "I wish I could say that, but I've done worse than help strangers, at this point."

    He would look at the ring on his left index finger before adjusting his headband.  The little crescent moon above his head would shimmer slightly.  They were the items he gained from saving the 

    "I've saved floor bosses from death.  Though, I don't actually know how teleporting one out of a boss room counts, but yeah..  That happened."

    He would let that sink in a bit as he checked on the line.  Yet another chest, it would seem.  Pulling the drowning whale out of the depths of the little kiddie pool.. only for it to be one of the smallest chests he had ever seen.  Opening the chest would reveal only set of rusty blades and a couple corked, but very rough looking edibles.  Was that mold?  He didn't want to know and threw them in the inventory, like all the rest.

    "Gross.. Anyway, I feel like my reason has only solidified since then.  Can't really go back on myself when I've essentially committed treason, huh?"

    He would look at his inventory for a moment.

    "I really need to do some appraising some time..  To much is building up."

He had hoped that there wouldn't be as much damage, but there was never a thought that it would be this much damage.  He would have to weigh his options, but there were too many.  Should he just use his field medic and be done with it?  No, he needed that for emergencies when everyone was at that level of health.  He needed something else, but would he use multiple mass heals for the higher heals?  He only had a few left, so that was not the right call.  There was always the healing songs, but would that be the right call?  That's when he remembered that he had more healing than just his items.

    "Hold on you two!"

    With a quick dash forward, he would throw a quick crystal towards Baldur.  A rhythmic march would beat and bare him to arms, slowly healing his health back up to a reasonable amount.  The other one would need the hunter to be in near touching distance.  Raising a hand up, it would glow a gentle jade before the art would take over, pushing him straight for Wulfrin before slapping his shoulder.  The glow would transfer to the shoulder of Wulfrin and relieve an amount of health roughtly identical, if not more, than the song did for Baldur.

    "Careful out there, and keep it up!"

It seemed that Hirru had struck a nerve with what he said.  It seemed that the stories and legends he heard were just as he feared.  Not so much with that he feared how Mari would react, but about the unruly wrath that was Zelrius.  Frankly, the rumors and such did talk about his achievements, but there were so many warning signs of the guy being a 'dick'.  That roughly confirmed it for him though.  Hirru let the silence go on a bit too long before Mari started questioning her own reason to be in the guild.

    "I felt like that too.  Not knowing if the reason you're doing something is right the call."

    The memory flashed of the twenty third floor raid.  A dark elf that seemed to look no older than some of the younger players in Aincrad.  Scared and confused, as the council around him were dying.  The prophecy that he foretold was not going as he predicted.  That sight was enough for the hunter to stop everything and try to help the floor boss.  While the hunter was being literally stabbed to move him out of the way, he was able to give the boy a teleportation crystal to get him out of there.  A gesture that he was nearly ostracized for, and caused quite a bit of problems on the front lines over.  It took him a while to come back from that.

    "I still don't feel like my own reason is good enough sometimes.  To think that I still fight for people that I will never know, nor will they ever see me.  I question it every so often."

    He would test the line to see if anything had snagged while he spoke.

    "Though, when I feel myself going into that dark place in my own mind.  I have this feeling of perseverance, but not for myself, for that someone else.  Those friends that I have made, and those that do understand me.  I get that feeling that if I don't fight on, then someone will be lost, and I don't want that."

    Hirru would straighten himself out before continuing.

    "In that, though.  If I had none of them, I too would just leave it all behind.  I did the same with my last guild, but here I am again, walking into another guild of friends that I made along the way.  It's not so much that I fight for the guild. The guild is extra.  It's what I'm doing that is understood, and that is keeping everyone safe as they fight on.  Give their purpose a reason to continue on."

    He would pause for a moment as he thought about what the guild was really for.

    "Isn't that this guild was all about?  Helping those that want to create their own future?  Can't remember exactly what Baldur said, but I'm sure that even if you don't see the guild as your home.  We can still support you until you find where it you wish to be."

  7. "I'm an appraiser myself.  Initially took fishing because I could gain more out of it than gathering, but deciphering runes and such gets old fast.  Especially after pulling these bloody swords out of the water all day!"

    He would say as he felt something on the line for a moment.  This was what he was waiting for, as he reeled the line in slowly.  Letting the fish fight and struggle until it tires itself out.  It may all be a game, but it was part of the game that he still felt was part of him.  He couldn't hunt as he used to, so the hunt had to come in a different form.

    "I knew Shield personally through many different ventures and quests.  Baldur from even more, long before that.  Of course, I've known some of the other members too.  Cro is still a menace to food everywhere.  The only two I didn't fully know were you and Oikawa, though I've heard legends and such.  Like your clearing of the 10th floor raid."

    There wasn't much more that he fully knew except for rumors and hearsay.  Although she carried the mark of amber, that was no reason to accost her for things that may or may not have happened.  It was a lesson he learned well back when he actively tried to hunt down those in that damned killing guild, Laughing Coffin.  He had lost a couple of guild members to them and thought that any amber crystal player was one of them.  It would come to pass that a chance encounter would prove him wrong.  He owed Lowenthal a lot for that lesson.  It was that new mindset that allowed him to accept and be accepted by Sister Teayre.  He hoped that he could be accepted by Mari too.

    "Well, if I had known that before, I would have one for you.  Though, I've melted that one down for its essence, but I'm sure I can work something together, if you need."

  8. "Alrighty then!"

    He would set up nearby where he wasn't too close, to allow them space.  Not only for socially obvious reasons, but to keep from spooking the fish from constant action around them.  Setting his net aside, he would pull some line, wind up his shot and fling the line out.  With a plop, the line would be reeled slightly until he was satisfied that any bite would be either seen or felt.

    "It's good to get together more than just for a quest or raid."

    Settling into a seated position, the hunter watched as Mari pulled a chest from the water with relatively little stress.  They had invested quite a bit more time and effort into their craft, unlike Hirru, whom only fished a few time in the morning.  Barely enough to do anything, and barely enough to level it up.  With a flash of a golden key, she had unlocked the chest and looted the rewards.  If only the hunter could see what she got.  He could probably have set up the merchant appraisal skills, but that was not what he was there for.

    Taking a moment, he would dig through his inventory as he waited and pulled our a platinum key.

    "I have my own, but I'd rather not use them here.  Rather not waste event items on anything in the water."

    He had heard the word junk and trash a few times to describe equipment and items of lower tiers or items so broken that they were useless.  He felt that he was like that, once upon a time..

    "Because of things that I did that lead me here.  Being vague, but I've been living here by Baldur's good graces.  I've known the pillars back when and those that are with us now.  They've all helped me in more ways than just one.  Though, to really say why?"

    Just as he was putting the key away, a straight tug would pull his line from the rod.  A quick reaction to grab the rod tightly before it pulled the line fully out and started reeling.  The issue was that the thing wasn't fighting, it was just heavy.  Of course it's a bloody chest.  It was probably a few of Baldur's swords again too.  Slowly reeling it in, the hunter would reach down to pull the chest up.  Of course, opening the chest would give him exactly what he thought he would get.

    "More AA rejects, it seems."

    He would swipe away the screen that showed the rewards and threw the line back in.

    "Anyway, I've been holding on for some time, but I figured it wouldn't be bad to just let it happen.  Join Baldur and Jacob's Ladder to continue this venture."

  9. The darkness enveloped them once more, as the boss was up to its antics once more.  Though, that's what the hunter thought until Wulfrin used that strange light once more to secure their vision once more.  There was something odd about the boss, it was floating in mid air.  Was that.. an attack?  Was there something that they could do?  They could probably stun or paralyze it..  No, those arts and effects have been going off, and they have only been effective to ruin certain other abilities.  Each boss always had some special way to work around each ability that they had, and this one would be no different.  It seemed that Wulfrin and Baldur had some sort of idea, but they would only be targets.

    "Dammit!"

    Hirru would have to work something out as Wulfrin was in a dangerous area, and attack that are telegraphed as such were easily unmitigable.  If he chose to use an item here, he would probably be wasting the heal while also gaining more of that aggro towards him.  DId Ciela have enough of it's attention?  How much would he gain when he had to heal the two of them?.  Was there another way around it?  Could he instead save them through barrier?  Was there anything..

    The ring on his finger grew warmer.

There were always players here and there on the 24th floor.  Most were there excited over the water that seemed to dazzle and gleam, ready to be enjoyed.  Though, the only ones that were somewhat okay to do so were those surrounding the main settlement, but only barely.  Sahagin, fish folk that claimed quite a bit of the open water around the islands, were constantly encroaching upon the main settlement.  If it wasn't for the players taking care of the Floor Guardian of the floor, they may have done so.  Or not.  There wasn't much to go on when the group rushed through the 24th floor before.  Everyone was more preoccupied with the issues that cropped up from the previous floor raid, especially a certain green haired players actions.

    Speaking of a jade player upon the floor, he had awoken for his morning fishing and training, dressing in his casual attire of a black, sleeveless, turtleneck; brown slacks and boots to match.  His red headband would cover his forehead while also keeping his hair out of his eyes.  The silver moon pendant from the 23rd floor boss, that only three players in the game had, was clipped to it.  Things were changing around the dojo that he lived under.  A few new members having joined or rejoined the guild, and the hunter was one of them.  He now belonged to a guild once more, after betraying his vice commanding oaths and leaving KoB.  There was so much he still needed to do, but it was time to finally move on.  He wouldn't be able to function well enough without a supporting guild, and Baldur was always there for him since the hunter revealed his secret.  He was able to stay there for free, but did not take that deal; instead reasoning to fish for the guild and earn his stay.

    Though, it seemed that he was not the only one to be fishing these days; other than Baldur's spear fishing with his unidentified weapons to find Absolute Accuracy runes, but Hirru don't count that madness.  No, he was glad to find that someone else enjoyed the profession just as much as he, or at least he thought that.  He hadn't fully spoken to the individual before since they came back to the guild.  Though he had seen them fishing here and there, and wanted to join them at least once.

    Taking the moment, he would step towards them while equipping their rod and the goddess' net.

    "Mind if I join you, Mari?"

The theory was now correct, as the dark knight had changed into the form of the only other player that had not attacked as much as their healer: Wulfrin.  That meant that it's target was the one that was gaining the least amount of aggro from their actions.  It was a gamble that he didn't really want to be making, but it did enlighten him to what the boss was able to do.  It would be copying everything that Wulfrin did, but as it did so, it would spread a dark miasma from around it.  It would start to enshroud them, but at the same time, their Wulfrin would be expelling a bright light that was negating the darkness.  It would almost be poetic.

    "That's one effect down.."

    It was then that the shadow Wulfrin would slightly shatter before a barrier would form around it once more.  Hirru was quite sure that Wulfrin was not there for the 26th floor raid, so this was not a copy of Fate's Armament.  It was something unique to the boss then.  He wanted it, but that was something probably beyond his possibilities.

    "Glad to know that it's not the Armament..  Still we should.."

    He barely got the words out before Mari had found a chink in the armor.  Her weapon's effects burst forth and rendered the shield useless with much more shattering effects upon them.  The boss had lost two of its abilities to them in less than a few moments.  It was as if they were doing much better than anticipated.  Though, there was something odd going on.  They kept talking about being hurt by the shield, as if it was still there.  Was there more to the illusion, or was something else happening?  Their health didn't go down, so what was going on?

    As the glow from Mari was about to fade, the hunter brought the three rings of light back to her.  As he did so, the hunter would shout out!

    "Your tricks won't work on us, Belregor!  We will not be fooled by your illusions!"

The visage had shattered after a time and the hunter was relieved to not have his team attack him by mistake.  He could see how they all were looking towards him, as if they couldn't easily tell, or that there was something that could possibly cause him to be a target in that instant.  The issue that he had to figure out during that time was how and why it happened?  There was obviously quite a bit more to this boss and it was definitely something more sneaky than he looked.  The change of weapons and a few parties being enshrouded in darkness.  Typical sneak DoT user. 

    So, what was it that would make something sneaky, take the visage of the party healer.  Well, it couldn't be that obvious, as the hunter didn't heal with his last art.  Could it be that the bloody thing had something to do with the aggro, or whatever it was called?  If that was the case, then the hunter had something on his mind.  If he could increase this 'hate' upon him, then if the boss still turned into him, then that would rule that out.  If not, and the boss turns into someone else, then he wouldn't be in danger.  The issue was, that meant that someone else was.  Though, that only meant that Hirru actually had a healing target that round.

    "I think I got something, but I'm gonna burn an item to test it!"

    He would say as a red crystal was pulled from behind his shield and immediately smashed.  The health of everyone would raise, but the only ones that needed it were Mac and Mari.  Even then, they only had a blip of health missing, so the healing would be wasted.  Though, that wasn't his aim.  A small glint of red from the dark knight's eye quickly peering at him, before would give him all the notice he needed.  There was something going on with the last few bosses that they have been fighting.  Each one was starting to have gimmicks against healing items.  Wushen had the cauterizing effects on its heads that needed.. whatever the heck Fate's Armament and his items were doing.  During the fight against Callisto, it didn't like any healing done by items what so ever, to the point that aggro was pulled by their tank mostly by mass heals.  He felt that he may have something in mind, but he didn't think it would just continue to be the same.  Was it because of Callisto's proximity to this floor that it was corrupted by the madness?  Was that why this dark knight was guarding this floor instead of that giant abomination.  Where was that thing anyway?

    "Looks like these guys still don't like us using healing items.  If it changes into someone else, Wulfrin keep watch over whom it is.  I have better healing for those that get hit accidently than myself."

    He would shout out before slapping a quick recovery towards Mac.  He would probably have to look after everyone's energy more than their health, but if we all mistake the boss for one another, he may need to do some serious triage.

Just as he was saying to stay conscious and to keep alert, things just had to get that much weirder.  The dark knight would shimmer and change, just like the knights before would.  Though, this change was much more different and disturbing.  It would take the form of a man whom the hunter swore he knew.  That armor shimmered instead of dimmed, with.  That headband with a crescent moon emblem, which kept the unkempt jade-green hair, at bay.  The angelic shield in one hand that would seem to be it's only weapon, but that stance doesn't seem right.  If the hunter could rip that shield off, one could probably see a ring in the shape of a tall shield. 

    It all looked like a certain sonovabitch that the hunter would see every single time that he looked into a body of water.

    "HHooww tthhee ffuucckk..

    The two of them would point at each other speaking at nearly the same time.  It was odd, and rather irritating to boot.  He didn't like being copied, especially when he didn't even know who he was to begin with.  He would teach those that wanted to support, or lead, or just wanted to listen to a story, but he would not wish them to be a copy of himself.  There were many warnings in his stories to point towards his own issues.

    Wulfrin was quick to see the issue and was able to have his skills and familiar to pinpoint the false hunter.  Hirru was glad for it, but that would not stop a certain someone from yelling out "Let me blow off some steam then!" which he could tell before the sudden smashing art was a catapulting destroyer art from Mac.

    The two Hirru's would shout out as their shields would both be raised to the sky, but there would be something different that would happen for each of them.  The true hunter's shield would glow iridescent and give his team the damage buffing glow, while the shield of the other would surround him.  Did this guy have barrier as well?  No, it was something more..  Did it have the capabilities to copy Fates Armament too?

  14. The water's edge would send shivers down Hirru's spine.  There was something about it that would make him want to drown himself within it, though there was a missing factor that kept him from that.  A hint of purple..

    There would be no turning back once the water bulged and moved aside for a knight that seemed rather different from the other knights that they just fought against.  This one had a proper form to it, rather than the shifting glass like beings that they destroyed.   A black knight of some form, it was oddly ill fitting for this area.  What was the story of this creature that it would be here instead of on the 26th floor.  Hirru wondered how Gabrandr was, and if the world hadn't deleted him for no reason.  He would shake his head.  Hirru didn't need the distracting thoughts as they started the fight.

    For a quick moment, he was going to give his team the damage buff that they found to be extra useful, if he didn't fight the cooldown effect.  The issue came when he looked at that knight.  It didn't seem right.  It only had so much hp as it was.  He would be more pressed to keep his team's energy levels as high as possible instead.  He didn't want another Wuxia issue, like with a certain pink haired woman.  Though, that didn't mean that there probably wouldn't be some complications.

    Ciela and Wulfrin were starting out, and he didn't see anything wrong.  Baldur and Macradon would burst out afterwards.  It was good to have his this cooperation once more, even if he wasn't the one doing the attacking anymore.  Mari was the last to thresh out some damage against the dark knight.  Out of everyone, there didn't really seem to be much in terms of issues, so Hirru decided that he wouldn't have to send multi-heals any time soon.  Three rings of light would form along his shield arm before he would point towards Mari.  Her arm would then be surrounded by the three rings of light.  Each time she would react, one would be absorbed into her being.

    "Let's start this out right!  Steady and alert for what it does next!"

  16. "It's almost done!  We'll be back to base in no time!"

    He would shout out as the art would finally end, allowing the hunter to move once more.  Though it is a rough art, it does help him sit by and concentrate on what needs to be done next, without having to wonder how he will get by.  It just meant that he would have to take any damage that would come to him, as the hound was trying for him several times now.  Thankfully, Baldur's last action took the creatures attention away from him while he was stuck in place, and Jomei had the bosses attention all to him.  The rough part was watching both Jomei and Baldur taking constant burning damage from the successive mobs.  As soon as he could, he sent another green pulse of healing to Jomei once more.  

    "Now, if only I could use that art once we get it.  I'd need to equip a weapon more often."

  17. Right behind his guild leader, the hunter made healer of the front lines would join him.  He wasn't as cautious as his heavy metal armor would clink and clang as he trudged through the sand.  They would not be long for the fight, and this was the first time that their tank would be fighting along side them.  He remembered the issues that a certain member of their group had the last raid, and was going to put the pressure on them to not do so again.  Though, as Baldur spoke, Hirru reconsidered.

    "I'll prefer a floor that doesn't make this helmet drown out everything else around me."

    He would try to be funny, but he hadn't been much of a funny individual lately.  With the introduction into the guild, things were slowly getting a bit more serious.  Still that wouldn't be good to cause their newly minted tank to worry.  Besides, Hirru's appraisal could easily see the multitude of unique runes on her armor.  She was coming into this raid fully stocked.

    "Don't worry too much there, Ciela.  You're the team leader, but you don't have to worry about making difficult calls.  You have experienced raiders alongside you; your husband included.  Trust in them to break the boss, as we trust in you to keep its gaze away from them."

    He would swing his arm around and pull his shield from his back.

    "And you can count on me to keep you all healthy, and bring you the good buffs when needed."

  18. "It's alright, Jomei.  Thank you."

    Baldur would reassure him and correct him on his own message.  There really was no reason for someone else to look into his past, so there was no need to tell either.

    "Yeah, that would be right.  I shouldn't need to."

    He would say as he watched as Baldur took the final head to below the requirement.  They wouldn't have to wait long now, but it wouldn't hurt to speed things along.  He would start raising his shield towards the ceiling, and as he did so, the shield would start to glow a faint incandescent color.  Though he had used the art several times in the past, he still wondered why this was the only one that had this odd color to it.  Most arts were green, blue, or red.  Hirru's healing arts have been yellow, green, and multi-color bananza.  He was pretty sure that the other leadership arts also had unique colors.

    "Take the damage and break them down!"

    The glow would then transfer to this blades to make the art successful.  It was up to them to take care of things now.

  19. "At least those memories I do have.  Jomei was there with us.  There were so many of us there, and I'm sure that they all have mostly forgotten by now.  I fell off the map, or so afterwards.  Being told that the front got so divisive over my actions, and what happened after.."

    That day was still just as vivid.  Destroying the first two of the Dark Elf Council, while constantly having conversations and talking back and forth between them.  The emotions that were being displayed.  For those that could see them as only bosses, it was simple.  For Hirru, it was fighting a group of living people, and one was just a kid or teenager.  He couldn't be certain with how elves were established.  Then after telling those people he could.  Being told to not participate due to possible discourse and other issues.  He wasn't there for it, but had found out how bad things got.  Not just because of him, but things that could have been helped, if he was there.

    Hirru would try to get a little closer to Jomei.  He was sustaining too much damage, even if his passives were doing there job.  He didn't want that health to go to far below any degree.  His hand would glow green for a moment before it could activate as Jomei was within a certain distance.  His health would rise back up to full.

    "We had talked about that before, when we faced that smog dungeon boss.  After the events of the 25th floor resetting several floors, I thought to come back.  I needed to start slow and find those that I could trust to tell my story.  Funny enough, there are more than just you two, Shield and Beat.  I've also told Hestia and NIGHT, but I haven't seen Hestia in forever.  Meanwhile NIGHT.."

    He figured it best not to talk too much about someone else's agenda.  Though Baldur probably had figured from NIGHT's interactions towards Hirru several times during the last few raids.

    "We had a mutual interest"

    So much had happened since he started sharing his story, but there was still one that he had not talked to properly.  One that he still thought would hate him for the choices that he made.

    "I still have certain others that I feel need to know too.  Though, I have taken Baldur's advice to keep it to a minimum.  This is a large weakness I'm sharing, and I trust you to keep it."

  20. They were having to be careful with each attack that they chose for the creature.  They needed that special event to happen, or so the information that was given to them stated.  Hirru figured that they were doing well for something that required players that were fairly stronger than the quest to lessen their opportunities.  Were they lower leveled, they may not have much issue in keeping their damage in check, but the burns that the creature kept producing against Jomei were not something one could easily work around.  Though, maybe a few prepared dotes and such may help.

    "To find it all a fabrication was something.  It.. took some time to come to understand, and I'm still not sure I understand things fully.  Though, I had quite a bit of help to try to find what I needed."

    He would watch as Baldur would do his thing.  Jacob's Ladder had certainly helped him out more than anything.  Though, it was mostly Baldur, Shield, and Beat that he could start the process.  They were the first to know about it all, and it was them that would show him the holes in his knowledge.  Though, that still didn't help him with his memories.  Those were things he needed to work on, on his own time.

    "I'm not sure when it all happened.  From the start, ... I just remember the field on the first floor.  I remember wondering what I was doing there.  Who I was.. Someone was there, seemed confused about my questions.  Thought I was.. 'roleplaying', especially when they saw my 'name' and just laughed it off."

    He couldn't remember their name.  He was processing too much at the time to really care.

    "Showed me the basics, and how to get 'loot'.  It was helpful, but their way of doing things didn't sit right with me.  It felt like they were making fun of me, when I should be more careful."

    It was there that the hunter truly started to be.  The capabilities to gain things in this world, including knowledge.  It would be Hirru's whole being as he searched and prodded areas of the world, to find out who he was, and where he belonged.  The three light rings would show up on Hirru's arm again, but this time, they did not leave him.

    "I had taken it to heart and took that as my walk in life.  To hunt and to loot.  Though they did say to get some rest and water, even though it didn't matter.  So, I did.. threw my head into the fountain in the Town of Beginnings.."

    That was where he met the first truly honest people he would get to know.

  21. A simple look of appreciation helped Hirru out as Baldur went on to attack the boss.  Hirru trusted Baldur and he would trust Jomei all the same.  There would be no turning back now, as Jomei's expression said it all.  Hirru would have some explaining to do, and that was what he want.  He wanted to express his side of things, and how the world looks from his point of view.  There would be ways that he had already expressed the situation to people, and a few have been stories.  Some have been more straight forward.  He figured that he didn't have to really make it a big thing.. any more than he already had.

    Looking to Jomei as they went on to attract the beast, the hunter would continue on.

    "Yeah.  I.. don't remember anything about the world outside.  I barely have memories from when everyone first started in this world."

    It was a start, but there would be more to it as they worked out where this conversation would go.  Though, his concerns would go to the burning that was immediately afflicted to Jomei.  To give them that time, he would make sure that any damage they would take would be reduced even further.  He figured that it should be about time to gain the Pacify trait to erase those pesky status effects.

    "For a while, I actively thought that this place was somewhat real.  Everyone in it, and all the mobs too."

    A slight gesture towards the boss.

    "Even this mess, but I've had some revelations and heavy thoughts since my incident during that raid"

  22. As he watched on through their efforts, as the light from his skill slowly but surely faded away.  It had done it's job well to set them up.  The shifting mass of what looked like glass and light was starting to add shifts of orange and red to its color scheme.  Odd how it was keeping these, when most other mobs would have them slowly 'heal' over.  Though, the hunter just thought it was part of the world, as the game they were in would probably revert the mobs to a state that it didn't have to constantly track.  Though that much of it was roughly where Hirru's understanding from Shield's explaination of game mechanics would end.

    "You guys are way too easygoing for a boss fight.."

    He would smile, but not much would be seen under the helm.  The rain really starting to kick up a bit, which made it a drumming mess upon his armor.  Hearing was going to be rough for him, but he wasn't really trying to listen too hard.  As long as search was up, and his team's stats were constantly on display to him, then he would be able to take care of any issues that crop up.

    "Mari, keep up that energy!  We're almost done!"

    He would call out as Jomei kept dodging the shifting masses attacks to the point where one would think he was a green blur.  Especially with how the rain was obscuring his vision, so most of their actions were all over the place.

  23. They had defeated the rough looking creature, or was that an abstract art piece?  What the heck is abstract mean?  Was there a reason that the hunter was even here?  Did he really need to be here?  These thoughts were really there in the hunter's mind as he raced back to the group.  Ariel had taken the final hit on the creatures, which was good for him.  It only meant that his NPCs would be able to leave quickly and without resistance.  That is, as long as it kept going when it didn't feel the issue of the mobs ever encroaching upon them.  A quick look towards the teleportation temple would give him relief that they were out of there.  Small wisps of blue light falling from where they would have jumped from.

    "Good job everyone!"

    He could hear more fighting going on, and would immediately seek to investigate.  Immediately, he would call out to those that haven't run out already.

    "Spread out and help everyone else!  We're here to keep them from getting to whatever they're objective truly is!"

    With that, he would send a message to Baldur and Jomei to link up for a coordinated attack.  Though, by doing so.. would trip and eat dirt.

  24. An iridescent glow would envelop his shield while Jomei was taking care of the boss.  It was stunned for now, so he would not need to worry about healing for now.  He would do what was needed right now and make this as quick as possible.  There was no need to hesitate now.  If he did, then they..  No, he would not think of it.  Hirru would raise his shield high to where the art would initiate.  The glow would then disappear like the art before, and would transfer to the blades of his allies.  They now held the power to make this battle that much faster.

    "Press the Attack has been initiated!  Run it through before it gets the chance to do anything funny!"

    With that, he would step back and let them do their work.  It's what he had to do to keep everything running smoothly.  Though, things didn't always like to stay smooth, and he would have to adapt to when it does.  So why was it that he felt that he was forgetting something; something important.

    • Mist Body | Natural BD 9 attacks made against Spectral Knight will no longer automatically hit and will use accuracy & damage calculations as normal due to the Spectral Knight bending and twisting to allow dangerous attacks to pass harmlessly through. All enhancements that would activate on a natural BD 9 (bleed, holy, burn, freeze) will not trigger when this occurs.
    • Attempted Rewrite | On a CD 10+, the Spectral Knight will find another NPC nearby and manufacture that NPC into a clone of itself with the same stat block including remaining hit points and any applied status effects.
  25. "Don't worry about it, and just keep its pointy bits away from me.  I'll do as much as I can, and more to keep you all safe."

    The fully armored healer would call out as the fight would begin.  It was funny still that their guild tank was lightly armored and was more there to cause aggression and evade, like a dps would do.  While their healer had more armor and mitigation than all of them, but was obviously not the one they wanted to be hit.  Though that was how things had gone.  They were definitely an odd bunch, but that was alright.

    "Baldur!  Here's for your energy consumption!  Keep busting it down!"

    Three yellow rings would glow around the hunter's left arm before slowly fading one after another.  Each one would then form again around the arm of the resident gaijin that had burst forward before them.  He would need to keep both their health and energy levels as high as possible.  Though, that would not be the last thing he would do.

    "Jomei!  After you stun it, I'm buffing you all!"
