  1. "I doubt I'll need to, but I got your back."

    The fight began as Nari and the Wicked Wood would engage each other.  With a swift and heavy hit, the lavender haired warrior would bring down hell upon the treant.  Fire would spread through their being from where Nari's scythe would touch down on.  It would envelop the field boss, invading the cracks and getting into its very core.  This one didn't really seem to be that bad, but that could change in an instant.  The flames seemed to burn more and more, but the treant would not kneel to them.  It's blade would sing with the heat from the fires within it.

    "Now we're getting somewhere!"

    As the creature began its assault, Nari would be able to get around most of its attacks.  Though, that was when it rooted itself into the ground, and started to heal.  Hirru cursed at it for using that trick so quickly, but calmed himself as it was an easy boss to deal with.  A bit of energy would go a long way, so he let a small green flash pass from his hands to Nari's arm.

    "Already?  Damn thing didn't start healing until half way, last time!  Here's some more energy."

  2. As Nari started to down each of her potions, the hunter kept watch before she asked if he needed any.  He would only shake his head.

    "I got plenty, though the boss reduces stats, so most of my buffs will mean more than nothing.  Besides, I probably won't be hurting it as much as you will."

    The woods seemed to quiet down as they conversed.  The birds would chirp and sing but a moment ago, but have grown silent.  The sapling in the stump would begin to grow at an alarming rate.  Branching from the main trunk, a few branches would grow into rough appendages, or so it would seem.  As it went on, the bark would start to crack and age, as if time was speeding up for this sad tree.  Leaves would grow green, drain orange, and fall.  This was the initial tree before it becomes the field boss.

    "Alright, looks like it's up.  Would you like to start us out?  Maybe a shatter, or that burn art you talked about."

    He would say before a yellow light would permeate Nari's being.

    "A little pick me up to keep you going.  You'll need it."

With the barrier between them shattered, the hunter would take a moment to get his bearings back before looking on as the rest of the group set upon the main body.  It looked like they didn't need too much direction at all, it seemed.  Though, they could still let the hunter know if they were about to get their finisher set up.  That wouldn't matter though, as the fight raged on.

    "Morningstar!  You're getting the next Hyperactive!  Don't squander it!  Mina, get healed up!"

    He would call out to him before sending yet another healing song towards Mina.  Although Fate's Armament had him use the song on the overgrown tangled mess of a head, it would warrant to proceed with caution for the rest of his stock.  He only had two more left.  He would have to wait until another head to come by.  He was sure that the next one to attack them would not go in his favor, this time.  Dormant Fate's Armament didn't seem to give him any indication that he could do anything with it.

    It would only leave Hirru with a sigh.  '

    At least one of these boss items has done something'

  4. "It's been off and on trying to look into some things that have popped up."

    He mulled over a bit of food, moving his fork around the piece in thought before sticking the bit in his mouth.  After chewing for a little while, Hirru would look on.  There was much to be said, but Hirru couldn't let it out in this peace.  Dreary mood would sour the food and spirit of the meeting, so he didn't feel that it would be good to bring up.

    "Been trying to find ways I can push through hunts without the need of another player.  It's been.. rough."

    He would bring up, as the group he was with has known him a little to be an effective fighter and strategist.  After changing to a healer, his capabilities would have effectively diminished to low grade attacks, or just letting the opposition bash his thorns several times over.  The issue would become clear fast that the hunter could not heal his own wounds, though.  The necessity for him to have someone else there to help would become more and more noticeable.

    "So, I've mostly just been fishing, and reflecting."

  5. The serpent's head seemed to burn heavily from Freyd's headbutt, as it shattered.  The jagged branches would creak and crumble before slowly turning to ash.  Overgrowth's entire being seemed to go into an enraged state, literally flailing itself into the icy barrier itself.  It's roars mirroring that of another across the room.  Did another team finish their dragon head too?  It was starting to get dangerous

    "So what do we do now?  This thing is keeping us in here with that, but how will be we deal with the thrashing?"

    He called out before looking towards the rest of the group.  Freyd had used another crystal on the group, keeping their health above a fair amount.  Of course, Mina was still having trouble, so it would go to him about to set up a barrier while using another song on Mina.  Though, as he was about to set his shield high, something burned from his finger.  It was such an odd feeling that, as he pulled the song crystal out, he could feel the presence burn more and more.  It wasn't until the burning presence would burn forth from his hand, the ring in the shape of a shield would glow alight into an old familiar shape: a spectral blue tower shield.

    "What the.. Fate's Armament?" worthyJust

    The shield would spin around him as it normally did before, but not for long.  Hirru felt a compelling force pull from his shield hand, as if his casting of barrier was being taken over.  It was not unlike the system would for a sword art.  The motions seemed odd as he held the song crystal high above his shield, which began to glow dark blue.  The motion would continue as the song would start to play, but the direction wasn't right.  Instead of pointing the song towards Mina, the song would point towards.. the nature based dragon head. 

    The thrashing would slow as the song would play, almost as if music would soothe the savage beast.  Slowly, it would stop before looking towards the source of the music, at which point the Fate's Shield would stop its revolution around Hirru.  Facing towards the natural beast of malefic intent, the Fate's Armament would mirror the position of Hirru's shield, as the Armament started to burn and glow the same dark blue.  As the art released, instead of a barrier appearing around just them, the barrier's energy would start to burn around them, as if the flames of Gabrandr were protecting them.

    "I didn't.." releasespreadburn

    Hirru said as he looked on at the shield that was flickering bit by bit.  The flaming barrier would grow, catching Overgrowth in it's path.  The creature of nature would not be able to handle the overwhelming flames that hellfire and fate would produce, and would be burned to ashes, leaving only a smoldering stump of charred wood.  The flames would then continue to spread outward until the icy walls that sealed them would melt, crack, and finally shatter to reveal the main body before them.

    With it's work done, the shield would return back to its dormant state, back to the hunter's finger, where it would sleep.  Fate has dealt its hand, now for the players to deal theirs.

    "I.. don't know how that happened.."

  6. "Heh heh..  Yeah, it's a bit much, and I only just mentioned some of the front line guilds from the golden age.  This is still from the 13th floor being the highest floor, if the records were correct."

    He would give a little smirk before going on before NIGHT's question would make him think upon the purpose that KoB was to the story, or more so to him, as the story was about the Jade Hunter.  The guild was the first time that he felt that he needed to stand by his friends.  He could not play as an independent player, and hope that his friends were okay risking their lives in the front.  He chose to join them, to safeguard their dream of escape.

    "The Knights of the Blood Oath's purpose is this story is to show the rise and fall of a group of players, that would lose everything to a decline in direction and betrayal.  How their example would reflect upon the hunter."

    There that word was:  'betrayal'.  It had much more meaning in this story than just an unfortunate event that happened on a specific floor, but many different parts that happened along the way to that point.  The hunter sighed as he had to recall once more the burning brilliance, burning rage, and creeping loneliness that would be the only family he thought he had.

    "After the merger of the two guilds, and a handful of other recruitments, like Macradon; KoB would become known as one of the largest guilds that were helping to burn through the front.  Mack was our Vanguard leader for the most part, as the Blades had become a vanguard team to head into the front.  The issue was that most of us weren't ready and needed plenty of training in leveling and teamwork.  We would all go out and complete quest after quest, dungeon after dungeon.  It was a grand time to be in such a well working guild, and we were doing well.  Even Vice Commander Opal would join in and show us what a front liner was all about.  Her power and elegance was incredible.  Then, at it's helm, was a great man and founder of the guild, Commander Heathcliff.  He was very insightful and would command the guild with wisdom and might.  Even more so being one of the few players to own an elusive unique skill.  It was these skills that seemed to permeate the front and showed the strength of the guild itself."

    From the records, Hirru could recall several other unique skill users that belonged to the other front line guilds.  Zerius, the infamous dual blader; Ssendom, the bloodthirsty berserker; Tristan, the Phoenix tanker; Hikoru, the Shadowed assassin; and sis Teayre, the crimson maiden.  There was odd instance of Takao doing something odd, but the records didn't state that it had anything to do with unique skills, or his unique combat style.

    "Unfortunately, those skills are lost to the void, I'm told.  Calrex and Sis have both claimed that their skills have long gone now.  It's probably for the best that they are gone too.  The power struggle that was accumulating due to them was tearing the front apart at times.  Especially after the 14th floor."

    The reports of the raid previous stated that a player pulled from the first floor and a previous Vice Commander had died.  Why?  Was it negligence or arrogance?  He couldn't understand why the raid leader of that floor, Zelrius, would do such a thing, and not equip his teams properly?  Though, it is all in the past, but some people couldn't see that.  They saw his actions and all of his past actions as a tyrannical player to heart.  That and the Berserker Ssendom, whom was targeting players on the first floor and killing them without warning.

    "The next raid came and went.  We were still not ready yet, but when we were about to greet our friends back.  Only the Commander, Mack and Macradon had returned, and had given news about the deaths of Zelrius and Ssendom.  They were killed by one of their 'friends' and.."

    Hirru grit his teeth, as he knew that this part was meant for something, but he still couldn't see it as justified.  It wasn't right.

    "..our former Vice Commander.. Opal."

  7. "Ah, that?  It happened so long ago that I nearly forgot."

    It was a small group of people that were targeting players, beating them to inches of their life, and then extorting them of their belongings.  There wasn't much information about why Lindow was tailing these guys outside of his own word, but that had long since faded.  The only thing they had left to go on where the word of the silver haired vixen.  Though, she was part of the guild for a time, it seemed she had ulterior motives.

    "The group was a smaller part of a greater whole, it would have seemed.  A guild that formed without full registration into the system.  It wouldn't be for a while that we would find more out about them.  Though, that didn't mean that the player wouldn't try to find anything out on his own."

    The green haired pioneer had started to gain a reputation with his friends and other players.  He would go out on hunts for people that could not gather materials and col for themselves, and take a little off the top.  Taking on the role of a hunter, he would start running through dungeons with or for people.  Throughout this time, the player was looking out for those that were harming others.  It would come to now that the moniker Jade Hunter would come around.  Not by anyone specific, but by his own design.

    "As the Jade Hunter, I searched throughout the lower floors to find anything or anyone that knew anything.  That's when I found a certain player, their crystal cursor tainted orange.  A player killer."

    In that cave all on their own, the hunter had found the player just passing along.  If it wasn't for the hunter's rage, their first impression wouldn't have been such a disaster.  He nearly threw himself at the man to take care of him, but the man was easily able to evade him and neutralize the situation.  This man would be a well known name in the other guilds and the front lines.

    "His name was Lowenthal.  A front liner and influential character.  He was the one to teach me that not everyone with that crystal was a blood thirsty killer, and some people just had.. situations that couldn't be fixed any other way.  I grew to judge more about ones character than for a simple crystal.  Even more so when one couldn't see the differences to begin with.  It would help out when I had to deal with another orange tainted player.  Though that is a bit later in the story.  Not to spoil it."

    He would give a little chuckle before going on.  There wasn't much that would happen through out this time, as the hunter didn't have records going that far if it didn't have him in it.  Most of the records of the Crimson Blades and others were from Mack's and other's recorded information.  Though there was a point where the hunter sat in on a meeting for the twelfth floor boss.  He was nowhere near ready, but he was there helping his brothers.

    "As time passed, the Crimson Blades were starting to grow more and find themselves in the front lines.  Though a small name within a story of bigger names, like the Azure Brigade, they made that name into something.  It wasn't until a Opal returned to them, after leaving for a time, that something significant happened."

    She came back to them emblazon in white armor with red accents.  She had become stronger and had joined another guild, becoming their vice commander.  A up and coming guild that would be one of the biggest ones for a time, all due to a merger of the two guilds.  He could remember barging into the meeting of the two because a certain guild leader had disappeared for a time.  The resulting clamor slapped the scouting player in the hot seat of the Blades Vanguard of the merged guild.

    "That's when I joined the Knights of the Blood Oath."

  8. "I have no clue what the hell is going on, but I don't like what I'm hearing."

    The hunter called out as he was set to begin another dose of energy to Mina before she can really work that out herself.  The others, mainly Morningstar and Elora, were in need of the light too.  There wasn't much else he could really do about it as Mina was constantly burning through her energy, and now she was getting hit!  Looking into what he could do, it was only a second thought before a hailstorm of fire would wash over them.  It was a light amount of damage to Hirru and Freyd, but the rest had much smaller hp pools.  Even more so the smoldering flames that still licked the four DPS.  The damage was evident, and it was starting to look like an actual boss fight.

    "It's probably rotational!  The other teams also got hit, but with different things!  Metal shards and some static shock, but I don't remember lightning being an element shown."

    In mid thought, the hunter pulled out a mass crystal, but not before Freyd could do it himself.  Hirru sighed, but there was something about it.  As soon as the crystal was crushed, they healed, but the boss seemed more aware of Freyd.  Was there something about the healing energy of the crystal that would attract it's attention?  It couldn't be.  With that, the hunter decided to use a instant healing crystal instead and played it close to Mina's form while he gave her another set of energy.

    "Mina!  You said you had First Aid right?  Got Purify?  If you do, then use it on Elora first.  Yourself second.  I don't wanna know what that other thing does, but it needs to be removed fast."
