  1. He rubbed the spot where Adhae had kicked him, smiling slightly as he pushed himself up off the ground. He dusted his backside off and placed his hands on the small of his back, pushing forward to try and pop his spine. "Oh hush. Rest is rest." He let out a few groans and finished his stretching, finally noting that Itzal and Kooh had rejoined the two. "Well, glad everyone's here." Verus' ears perked up at Kooh's mention of Itzal's potential girlfriend. His grin turned into a devilish smile and he decided to play along. "Oh you don't have to hide her from us! She's probably a nice lady."

Verus then decided to kick back at Adhae. He started to fake cough while grunting the word "Revenge" in-between each successive cough. He braced himself for some sort of retaliation, trying to hide his gaze from his clearly shorter counterpart.

  2. Verus nodded to his replies, opening up his menu and equipping his gear. There was something about putting it on that had always got him into a good mood. The tight feel of the armor was a big plus. It made him feel just a bit safer than he was supposed to, almost like a strong hug. He really needed to gather a few more pieces to wear and enhance his overall damage output, but that could come later. For now he was more than okay about what he could put out.

"Yeah i'm not to big of a fan of taking damage either. Just not in our build types, ya know?" Verus reached to grab at the back of his neck, rubbing slowly. He turned his head to look towards the stairs, already eager to go and roam. "Fighting though, will be a piece of cake." He brandished an over-confident grin and bore some of his teeth, holding out a thumbs up to his partner.

The two walked out of the inn and just slightly outside of the building before Verus had remembered what Itzal had asked. "Oh! I haven't really explored much here. Just fought off a bunch of wolves in the rain a couple times. Nothing too special. Just a pretty floor."

  3. "Oh floor three is great!" Verus had just happened to be walking past Itzel's room for the past half hour or so. He had not been keeping track of how much time he spent there, but it was a good amount. Adhae was a tad bit busy today and he had not seen him in a while, so he figured they could go out and find something to do. He noticed a slight yawn escaping from his partners mouth and that caused him to raise a brow. He hadn't actually seen anyone sleeping in a while, with he himself not passing out since the game's release. There was just something about the idea of being asleep in a game where he was already technically in a forced sleep that creeped him out. Something there just didn't really feel right. The time he could have spent sleeping was used to roam about and explore at night or really whatever he felt like doing. It was one of his growing hobbies since there was no true need for sleep.

He greeted Itzal with a small smile and found himself leaning up against the wall opposite of his door. Not really much was on his mind other than going out and exploring. He also had a hunch that Itzal would definitely say he would like to do something along those lines as well. "I would be very happy to join you. What's the occaison?"

  4. "We've been walking for so loooooong." Verus whined just loudly enough for the others to hear, throwing his head back and sulking slightly. The trek felt longer than it actually was, which put his mood off even more. He was never one with an immense amount of patience; things just needed to get done fast in his mind. There were few things that he loved that he would wait for, and well traveling wasn't one of them. He needed Adhae to carry him again like the time before. A slight image of her being a human taxi flashed into his head and put him at ease. He'd work something out with her.

"Neither one of y'all happen to be like, the heir to some fortune right?" He lightly patted both Itzal and Kooh on their backs, walking almost a little too close to both of them. "A cart would really be a great investment, you know?"

  5. Verus let out a preemptive 'humph' amidst her babbling, taking in all that was being spit out. Though the situation was slightly spiraling, Verus remembered that it would be damn near impossible for anyone to truly steal money from him. Its not as if he was lugging around coin purses or anything; his money was kept electronically. Through the haze of the situation he was unable to truly understand that idea. However when he did, his shoulders relaxed slightly and (what little of) his muscles lost their tenseness.

His eyes softened a little, segwaying his face to emit a small, warm smile. His mood quickly changed, realizing that he possibly made the situation far worse than it had to be. Though it still was not acceptable for his items to be moved around without his consent. The act made him cold, and a small shiver reminded him that he was still rather nude. "Just...just hold on one second." Verus nodded slightly before turning on his heels and beelining it for his now damp clothes. He somehow managed to slide on his work pants rather quick, throwing his shirt over his shoulder and storing his armor away in his items menu. At least he was now somewhat decent in front of the new member.

As he was walking back to Kooh, his hands fumbled around with his wet shirt, trying to ring out what water still resided. "So you're not a thief, but a prankster eh?" He focused his gaze onto her, looking downwards into her eyes. The situation was still awkward and Verus did not quite know how to fix it. His toes dug into the ground beneath him, making a squishing sound with the mud-puddle that he had produced. He would have to take another bath in a while, hopefully in private next time.

  6. As soon as he heard the word 'Break' he slumped down to the ground, panting slightly. He had a little energy left but landing those two attacks really drained him. They weren't too hard and he really just wanted to see how much damage output he could do. This little self-testing resulted in wonderful results, leaving Verus slightly smiling. More power would come with more levels, and those seemed to be coming rather fast. He was almost level ten now, which he really couldn't fathom.

    "So..."

    (shortpostsorryihavehadnoideawhattosayforlikeadayandahalf)

  7. Verus finished up his present rather quick, shoving what leftover crumbs at the bottom of the box into his mouth. He had lost all sense of public manners, but since it was only Adhae he didn't mind. He was dead tired of bread anyway; this was a joyous occasion. " Gingwer snawps." His words came out jumbled from the remnants of the snaps, sounding very muffled. After swallowing what was left, he let out a cheerful 'ah', patting his stomach slightly. "Thanks for that miss."

He followed alongside Adhae to the tavern they had met at, slightly excited to be heading back. He could hardly drink anything there but would enjoy it for the sake of nostalgia alone. Thoughts of the other girl had stayed afloat in his mind, resurfacing more and more as he got closer. However, something told him that he'd probably never meet the girl once again.

The stool he sat upon clinked against his sword, pushing it up against his leg. "Clumsy me." Verus repositioned himself and looked to Adhae, smiling slightly. He held up his hand and motioned for the bartender, pointing to his friend. "Some for her please."

  8. His tired ploy didn't work. Verus grinned and twisted his back slightly, listening to the pops and cracks it made. His drive to hunt for materials had long gone; his new drive wanting to find a stream or pond. Something watery just sounded fun to him. The day was slightly warm, sun shining down bright on top of the both of them. A good swim just sounded like the most pleasurable thing for him at the moment.

"Oh we have plenty! Plus we already have some stocked up anyway." Verus was desperate to swim or get by some water. Swimming was one of the few things besides video games that he enjoyed back in the real world. He had yet to go to a pond or lake in the game, and was immensely curious as to what it would be like compared to the real thing. He figured his party would come as well and they could have a mini beach day. "Adhae will be fiiiiiine. Just fiiiiine."

  9. "Hand got stained by berries, no biggie." He moved his fingers around to show that his hand was not too damaged, only appearing as if. Verus nodded slightly, stretching out his arms afterwards. A huge wave of tiredness hit him hard out of the blue. He yawned and leaned up against one of the nearby tree's resting his cheek on the hard bark. "Berri....nut....bl..." His words were interrupted by several yawns with heavy blinking following. "Probably just the....ants. No big de....deal." He pushed himself off the tree and tried to stretch out his arms. "Sleep ants aren't real right...." Verus yawned slightly and looked to Itzal, eyes only just open.

  10. "The guy that gave you that armor crafted it for me." His death-dealing hit to the boar brought a smile to his face, as defeating something always did. The particle shards calmed him in a way that he couldn't really describe. Fighting almost was therapeutic for him now; a way for him to relieve any and all pent up stress. In the real world, he would never be able to fight and stab monsters such as the giant boar, let alone even wield a sword.

His hand tightened on the grip oh his rapier, looking around at the others after the kill. They all seemed to be staring at him slightly before continuing on to fight another approaching beast. Verus was in a zone. The three of them went to attack just like they had before, slightly angering the beast. It seemed to land a solid hit onto Adhae, or what looked to be. She was forced backwards, her heels digging into the dirt to try and stop the force of the blow. His eyes then went to the health bars in his top right view, seeing that she took very little damage. "High quality armor."

Itzal called out to Verus, snapping him out of the slight trance he was in. Verus must have stood there for longer than a while just watching the fight underway. It was just so...enticing. "Oh...right." He rolled his neck slightly and let his sword fall to his side, preparing for his Accel Stab sword art. He jogged up to the beast, whom seemed to look directly down on him. It was much, much larger than Verus, but he did not care. With three quick piercing stabs, the massive boar fell to its side, letting out a squeal as it passed on. "Two crit's in a row? Damn."

  11. "Show you how it works eh?" Verus smirked, knowing what he would have to do. He gave the others time to put in their attacks though, watching as it did minuscule damage against the beast. He understood that Kooh wouldn't be able to do much at her level and Adhae was pretty much the team's defense. Damage was damage though, and he smiled once Adhae's hit landed. Damage was damage, no matter how small. It appeared that Kooh had missed her claw attack, but he was able to see that she was willing to run into battle. That was all he really needed to know anyway.

What surprised him the most about the fight was Itzel's random appearance. Verus kept his eyes trained on him as he quickly ran in from somewhere behind them. His attack landed as well, but it seemed to do minimal damage. It was just funny to him to see the guy run in from nowhere and join the fight. Verus laughed a little before regaining his composure, fiddling with his sword as he waited. "My turn right?"

He picked up his pace as he began to run at the beast. His armor made his movement feel a little clunky but he'd get over it soon enough. It moved freely with his arms and that was really all he could ask for in the long run. "Accel Stab!" His sword shone a bright white this time with hints of purple added in. It was strange not seeing a dark purple as his last sword was, but he could care less. His sword arm surged with power as he landed each of his attacks, piercing right through the large boar with ease. His damage output seemed insane, and the results proved that it was. The beast fell and disappeared into particles, leaving Verus with a notification that he gained an additional material from the slaying. "Neat."

  12. It was a new day for Verus. He had rested in Horunka village one the first floor last night, trying to make conversation with whoever was up. Not having to sleep gave him a large amount of free time and well, he had no real way of investing it in the right way. He hadn't acquired a profession like Adhae had wanted to and didn't really see himself trying to fight monsters in the night. Thoughts of his quest for the armor he wore still scared him slightly so tussling with the enemy was definitely out of the few options he was graced with. So shackled by his jobless, fightless nights, he liked to strike up conversations with any passing players or NPC's that happened to be awake at the wee hours of the morning. Last night however, nobody was awake or out and about that he could find, leaving him to get familiar with the city. It was a rather boring night.

Verus's mood changed when the sun began to rise, immediately storming out of the town and back towards the orchard he had come to know and love. He'd been waiting around for two long and was eager to go gather materials. He figured that a player could never have enough, plus Adhae would be grateful for it anyway.

Upon reaching his gathering spot, a friendly NPC greeted him, holding out it's hand with a bright red apple in it. Verus nodded and smiled slightly, watching as it soon left afterwards. What a great way to start the day.

  13. "I totally forgot you opened up a store." Verus eyed the sign for some time, reading it over and over. It sure was worth of a sensible chuckle. And indeed he did, he giggled a little bit at the name before collecting himself. He had smiled far too much in one sitting and needed to hold himself back a little. Couldn't show too much of who he was anyway.

He eyed the small shop, peering in to one of the windows as they had before to previous armor shops. It was...somewhat barren. However, it was understandable since Adhae had just become a baker and just had opened the store. It needed to be spruced up a bit but he thought it would be perfect once it got a kickstart. He could smell the aromas lifting upwards from beneath the door even before they got in, only drawing him in closer.

The shop itself was small but cute in a way that was difficult for Verus to describe. He just felt cozy inside and wanted to pull up a chair and just relax. "Oh you shouldn't ha-" Verus had already broken into the packaging and began to eat one of the snaps, already elated by the taste. "Really I mean..." His words came out jumbled, mouth full of cookie. He had no better day in Aincrad than this.

  14. The berry bush had left his hands stained slightly red, only giving his ant-bitten hand a worse look. He was getting rather messy on this expedition, but figured it would be worth it. Every little ingredient they gathered would come together for some truly edible deserts. His mouth salivated just thinking about it and he must have stood there for some time just daydreaming before realizing he needed to get back to searching. He figured Itzal wasn't too far away and decided to call to him. "Oy! How much we getting here?"

  15. He childishly kicked at the dirt, having decided to call it quits for the day. On his way back to the gate he decided to search the area he was walking through for any fruit, only to come up fruitless. He sighed, knowing that he had gathered a solid amount to bring home to the group. A couple of peaches would be perfect for a pie or two, and the rest was just extra goodness. A small smile shot across his face as he closed the gate behind him, beginning his long, lonely walk back to where his party was.

  16. He put his hands to his hips and let out a slight grunt, kicking at the orange tree soon after. He just wanted more fruit. It was one of his favorite snacks in the real world and wanted to know if it tasted the same in game. He had restricted himself to only eating his bread and water until it was all gone. Luckily for him that would come sooner than later as his supply was almost fully diminished. He had just a couple loafs of bread left and enough water to last a few days maybe. His rations were scarce, but effective. His search around the orange tree was also meager, having found nothing worth picking up.

  17. The sun was beginning to set slightly, giving off a nice orange vibe to the sky. His day of travel and gathering was coming to an end and for the most part it had been worth it. He had looted the trees for a good amount of their seed, having believed that he profited from the ordeal. He continued to test his luck a few more minutes though, wanting to increase his score load.

He moved to almost the opposite side of the orchard, having realized that he only covered three out of the many trees that were there. He spotted would looked to be an orange tree, only to be disappointed by the lack of citrusy goodness. Verus shrugged. "Must not be in season."

  18. "I keep my money in my inventory at all times....." Verus began to slowly walk towards the girl, having gotten a good look at her face when she was trying to hide it earlier. His suspicions were correct; it was their brand new party member. His brows furrowed and he stopped a couple feet away from her, looking down at her still trying to hide. He put his hands on his still-wet sides, glaring at the girl. She still hid underneath her cloak which is what tipped him off initially. However, he wasn't mad at her following him per say, more struck by the fact that she brought up his money first. It brought up questions on if she was trying to steal money from him, which he leaned towards automatically. A brand new player in the party sneaking around and ending up with his clothes looked rathe suspicions. It also didn't help that he barely knew the chick, having not talked to her as much on the previous floor.

He decided to change his mood to try and get a look at the reactions that she made. There he was, half naked and interrogating a girl who had followed him about his own money. He tried to appear as if he relaxed himself, putting on a fake grin and easing on his eyebrows. His eyes still had a stingy look to them, as if he was trying to read the girl. And indeed he was; her reactions would potentially help get a better grasp on the situation.

"You just wanted to see me strip didn't you!"

  19. "If you let me pick I'd choose a bunch at once." Verus smirked and opened up his menu, scrolling to his inventory. He hadn't wanted to show his gear to the new player earlier for some reason. The thought may have never crossed his mind that he still had his beginner items equipped, but it had now. In the armor section he swapped on his new leather cuirass over his cloth shirt. It fit nice and snug on his torso, hugging him just enough to make him feel safe. He then swiped over to his weapons and replaced his current beginner rapier for Adzin, his new rapier. It's white and purple colored guard didn't really match the rest of his outfit, but he planned for it to over time. Verus was all geared up and ready to go.

He scoured around the plains, trying to find some simple mobs to test the girl on. He noted that her health bar appeared just under Adhae's, taking a mental note at what level Kooh was. She was half his level but that bothered him not. If she was able to defend herself and add to the party in someway Verus could care less. Having numbers was always a good thing anyway. "Adhae care to start it off? You can show Kooh how strong that chest...plate of yours is."

  20. "We'll have to see as time goes on." Verus smiled lightly, watching as she repositioned herself to walk backwards. He remained pretty calm with few expressions being expressed by the expressor. Verus really just didn't have much on his mind.

She was a few steps in front of him, seemingly unphased by the downwards slope they were walking on. Thoughts of trying to trip her up shot through his mind but he quickly dismissed them, realizing it would be rather rude to push his wall over. "Thoughts on the girl are few at the moment. All depends on what she can do." Anyone could climb and sit in a tree, which he himself probably couldn't do but still. Her weapons were sure strange, but not much about them struck him as really useful. They seemed to be for uber-up close combat; something that seemed rather risky to do. Verus let out a slight yawn and covered his mouth slightly before continuing on.

  21. (Phone post sorry for shortness)

Verus nodded to Adhae's comment about his quietness, only adding to it more. He just had nothing to contribute to the conversation is all. Listening in on other peoples chit chat was always fun for him anyways. It let him know when to intervene into situations to add on to all the fun.

May the mention of some grinding Verus put his hands behind his neck and turned his back to them, starting to walk towards the open plains. He held up a hand towards them and continue on, assuming they would follow behind. If they didn't oh well, he would definitely be able to take on a few low leave mobs on his own.

  22. Verus had calmed down slightly, ant toxins beginning to wear off. His hand was slightly inflamed but nothing too bad. He was lucky enough to put his non-sword hand into the hole. The party would have been in a real pickle if put his other hand down their. The thought of that made him realize he needed to learn how to fight with his left hand. That or he would need to become proficient with a shield of some sort. The thought of it was amusing to him. He could brandish a buckler style small shield and only use it for parrying. The potential with his rapier was pretty great alone, but if done right could be paired with a shield to make a devastating combo.

Verus smiled after he finished contemplating, returning to his search. After a short walk towards the outer rim of the forest, he was able to spot a bush that bore a good amount of berries. He quickly picked as many as he could and stored them in his inventory, glad that he was finally able to find something.

  23. Verus decided to scour the orchard grounds once more, this time hoping to me more thorough than usual. He focused his eyes in on the tall patches of grass around some of the trees where he usually wouldn't look. He peered into a few of the patches, unable to find even the smallest fruits to plunder. He must've hit a rough patch in his searching ability as he hadn't found anything in the past hour. Verus sighed and continued the search,

  24. He reared back, somehow finding himself leaning himself against a tree. He shook his hand violently to make sure most of the ants were off. The venom they injected took a second to kick in and what caused him to jump back. The bites themselves just felt like little tiny pricks; no big deal really. His hand pulsated for a second before slightly returning to normal, and he leaned off of the tree, returning to his search of any form of edible objects.

Verus ventured off slightly, trying to search a small grove of trees he had found. He was on the hunt for nuts and berries, hoping to find a few bushes here and there. However he continued to come up short, only finding barren shrubbery's and fruitless trees. Luck was definitely not on his side.

  25. "Oh if we bring her ingredients i'm forcing her to cook us something." The forest they were heading for looked pretty normal; he wouldn't have to worry about insane darkness like the last forest he was in. He shuddered at the thought before recollecting himself, rolling his neck slightly. It was his way of relieving what little stress he ever had and it worked surprisingly well. Within seconds he felt normal again and was ready to do some material hunting.

"Yuck mushrooms. You can have all those." Verus tried to scour around where Itzal found his first pick, hoping for a similar ordeal. What he did find was a hole, and was curious to see what was inside of it. He figured that it may be a little mouse hole or where a squirrel or something buried some nuts. Verus reached his hand in and quickly pulled it back out after getting bit a few times by ants. "Well that was no fun..."
