  1. "Let's just say the boars were bad." He pulled on her arm and sprung up, reaching his feet just as he heard the notification sound. He swiped his fingers and low and behold a level up interface was shown, with an area to decide on where to invest it. He grinned, seeing as his partner had the same fate bestowed onto her. There was no second thought on how he'd spend it; getting some points into an armor class. They were both in desperate need of some protection against the outside forces, and it would also give them a small safety net in case anything bad happened.

Verus held up his hand for a quick high five, nodding to Adhae. "Good work today, let's head back"

  2. "Ok mom." Verus smiled for the first time they had been together, watching as she ran off with the grace of a freshly steamed vegetable. She was the one that needed more armor, not me. If we were to stay together, she would be taking all the blows and aggro anyway; as is the way of a tank. Verus hoped to live up to his damage per second dreams of a class, but that would be many levels ahead of him.

Adhae had been rushed by the boar; it having tried and attacked first. We must have been on a lucky streak today because it missed her entirely. She retaliated with her axe coming down on the boar's back, and I figured it was as good of a time as ever to go in. Verus rushed to her right, the boar's backside, and thrusted his sword towards its back leg.

            Verus: Health 4/4 (0) = 4/4

His rapier thrust through the back of the boars leg and upwards; a clean shot straight through. The boar faded away into a thousand particles and Verus sat backwards, gripping at his right shoulder with his left arm. There sat Verus, watching as Adhae came to pull him up. "Not too shabby."

  3. "Up to you if you wish to attack first, though i'm not sure if you can beat how perfect I was." He smirked and pointed at the boar with his sword. "Straight at it this time. No reason to try and trap it since it will lock on to one of us." This one shouldn't be too bad either, and with his experience bar almost about to level up, it would be good to get one or two more. They'd need the col if they would want to eat later tonight. His coffers were very loose and all he had on him was the essentials that were given out at the start of the game. The clothing he wore bore little protection, and it was almost scary that he could essentially get one shotted at any point and time. His first purchase would be that of some form of armor, probably something light to accent the speed of his weapon. His grin faded slightly as he remembered what it was just like to use it. It was his first time striking at something and he did it rather well for a beginner. The points he put into the sword skill were well put, but he'd have to keep on leveling up to ensure a safe travel ahead. "Your move sweetie."

  4. He watched as the particles fluttered in the air around them; the beast was dead. "That wasn't too bad I guess." He took his sword and moved it through the floating pieces of the boar code to see if they would do anything, only to be see a result of his rapier passing through the hundreds of bits. His arm fell down and sword returned to its spot at his side. That boar almost bit him, and if he remembered right it would have done damage that would have resulted in almost all of his fairly low health. It was a weird feeling knowing that he got lucky. It wouldn't happen a lot in the future. He'd make sure of it.

"We wouldn't be able to take on multiple numbers of these. And with our health as it is at the moment...." Verus paused, pulling up his profile info through his menu with the swipe of the fingers on his left hand. His health was unscathed, and he knew that Adhae's was as well. "...we should be able to take on at least one more or so before needing to heal up." His head tilted towards her, looking for any sort of confirmation. "That okay with you sugar?"

  5. Verus dug the tip of sword into the ground just enough to make some a small cloud of dust. "I call first, come in behind me." He started walking ahead, giving a slight two fingered peace sign over his shoulder. The light was to his right side now and the boar had his backed turned just at an angle to where it would not be able to see him. This would be his first attack ever in this game, and he was assuming it wouldn't be too tough. With his rapier at his side, he took off in a jogging pace towards the beast, keeping his eyes on it. It was a loner in a clear patch of grass, nothing else in sight. Verus whistled to let it know he was coming and dashed forward, thrusting his weapon towards the animal. He watched as his attack landed, grinning just slightly after the boar's retaliation had missed. A red streak of what looked to be gaming code and lines had appeared on the boar's body, acting as a gash would. "Let's go Adhae!"

The boar took the attack head on, turning slightly to its side at the last second to make the blow hit its mid section. In retaliation, it tried to pounce toward Verus, hoping to bite at his left arm only to fall short, missing it's target attack spot by a decent margin. It was now facing towards the boy, dragging its feet on the grown to scuff up some of the dirt and grass.

  6. Verus followed along, trying to keep quiet after embarrassing himself as he did. Ahae was quick for someone who was wanting to be tanky, speedily leading us from the small village on the outskirts of the Town of Beginnings to the plains where low level mobs spawned. We arrived faster than expected due to her being somewhat over-excited to go fight. Verus had lost a little determination after his little slip up earlier, but it slowly crept back as he approached what would soon to be his first mob kill.

He lifted his hands up and used it to block the artificial sun from his eyes, giving the area a decent survey. "I'm not slow....you're.." His voice trailed off as she kept going on about spotting what looked to be a boar. Verus smirked and put his hands down, remembering the weapon that was sheathed at his side. "So, how do we uh, approach this? Just balls to the wall it or what?" His hand found the grip of his sword, unsheathing it slowly and pointing it down towards his foot. It would probably be best just to rush the thing since it was two on one, but that could bring some issues.

"We should double check to make sure it's just one of them and not a group. Farming these would be best if we just did them each one by one."

  7. He nodded as she continued on about fighting, down to earn some quick cash. He'd eyed some good looking light armor in the Town of Beginnings that he knew would look good on him. Then again, he'd probably look good in just about anything he wore in this world. However, style wasn't the point; he was outfitted in simple civilian clothes with literally no armor or thickness. They were extremely exposed and needed some sort of protection fast.

"Im down to kill some small things just to practice." He gripped his fist together and pointed it out forwards, slightly raising his voice as his sentence progressed. "For blood!" Verus stopped, restating what he just said back to him in his head. "That sounded really stupid. You can hit me if you want."

He looked around slightly, trying to judge where they were in the town. It was decently sized with occasional stores and shops. "You think we could find like, a mini quest or hunt? I'd be down to split the col."

  8. "I mean, you sorta struck me as a tavern girl at first glance." Verus smirked, staring her down while speaking. "I kid, you'll come to learn that later on." He waved to some of the NPC children who were running around, trying to appear friendly. He had no idea how NPC contact worked in this game, so he figured seeming as nice as possible would be as good as a strategy as ever to appeal to the non players. "I define a paladin as well..." He stopped, turned to her, and began to look her up and down. "...now that you mention it I can picture you in all the heavy gear." Verus held up his hands to form a box with his index fingers and thumbs, acting as if he was looking through a camera. "I see it." He laughed and spun around, walking through the town as they were before.

"I mean, do you think we'd survive against a boar or monster or something? If it's true we can you know...die... we should be one hundred percent certain that we'll be able to take on what we are up against." He nodded after his last words, truly believing his statement. Her front lines question was answered with a slight shrug, being that he honestly did not know what the future of the game held for him, and he figured he'd just decide as they went forward.

  9.  Her swing was lackluster, but then again they were both beginner players with extremely low stats. It would take weeks to progress and he believed that it may even take longer in this sort of game setting. "A paladin eh?" Verus grinned slightly, not thinking of her as a full on holy style warrior. "Wouldn't have guessed in a million years hun." He moved slightly past her, taking lead of the small two man party. The village was a standard beginner quest giving town, those that would typically draw in the newbies for easy quests and gear. It was a destination they needed to visit, as he and Adhae were in need of just about everything. He put his hands behind his head and flexed his arms slightly, pushing his neck back and letting out a loud yawn.

"You know, I usually play ranged style characters; bowmen, mages, you get the type." He was fond of taking advantage of situations from afar, trying to control them before they could control themselves. It was fun to just play around with magic in other games, things he knew were impossible. In other games, he was the one that would try to boost up the spirits and power of the others in his party, usually building into something like a cleric or another supporting type character. In this world though, it seemed that speed based characters were the way to go; hence his chose on the rapier. "However, I think a class that's quick and light will do me best here."

  10. Verus had been silent most of the trip, not having anything on his mind. The world he was in was beautifully constructed, laid out in such a way that all the little details of the world were exemplified. Grassy hills and mountains could be seen off in the horizon, the sun hitting them in such a way that was very appealing. In a hell such as the one he was trapped in, he was thankful that it was made well.

"You know, I haven't really gotten that far yet." He replied to his new traveling buddy. She had also been somewhat quiet on the trip, which brought up a slight suspicion. She seems like a regular player, but he figured anyone in this world could screw people over, and he did not want to be the one on the wrong end.

The road they had walked on was very open. It progressed through seemingly endless amounts of rolling plains, with semi-tall grass that would rise up to each of their waists. It was relaxing to watch it wisp and flow when a gust of wind would come by, grass waves rolling to the horizon. "What about you miss Adhae? By the looks of that little battle-axe I could assume you to be heading on the skill tree of a berserker of some sort."

  11. This was not one of the ways he thought the situation would play out. Verus understood where the lady was coming from that there may be the possibility of us out fighting in the same area at some point in the game, but for this other girl to suggest a party was just out of the blue. There was no reasonable evidence to trust either of them, and she had just assaulted him for simple accident. It didn't make any sense.

Verus stood up, popping his neck once he was standing straight. He’d been sitting down for a while and was somewhat tense. His hands rested on his hips as he tried to straighten out his back, making some grunting noises here and there while squinting. The rapier strapped to his hip slung around a bit, knocking against a few of the barstools.  There was a very valid offer that was presented to him. He hadn't made any friends in the game and definitely didn't start playing with any. This was his new start with new people.

A few pops could be heard and Verus let out a sigh of relief. His eyes opened back up again and he switched his stance up, looking to the both of them with a calm expression on his face. He held out his hand to the girl, focusing his eyes on her. He wasn’t sure what to say yet and figured he’d wait and see what more the other two had on their minds.

  12. All he wanted as to rest and relax after a long day, not the situation at hand. His simple act of stretching has seemed to cause an uproar in the small pub and it angered him. A misunderstanding blown out of proportions was all it was, and now some other player had the audacity to try to join into the fiasco. “Look, lady…” he paused, seeing how she seemed much older than him and the other girl. He composed himself, regaining his thoughts from before. “This was all a misunderstanding and there’s no need to make it even bigger.” Some NPCs had stopped what they were doing to see what all the commotion was about. This girl had caused a problem out of nothing. Verus was annoyed. “Now, why do you think you have the authority to try to jump in?” His gaze was fixed on the lady, watching her, waiting.

  13. Before he had time to react he was already being forced backwards in his own chair. His eyes were now met with the rage filled ones of the girl he accidentally grabbed. The first thought that came to mind was to pull his arm back towards him so he wasn’t still touching the girl. His face became a bright red and he started to try to mumble out an apology. “I-I’m so, so sorry miss.” Even with all the embarrassment he had just went through, something seemed a little bit off. His head was pinned so far back that he was almost looking at a downwards angle. “Uh miss, could you uh, let me go?”

  14. After a solid few minutes of just laying around, he reached back to grab onto the backrest of his stool to pull himself up. It had felt good to just relax for a while. Time had flown by since he joined and the sad part is he hadn’t really made the most of it. His explorations of the city had simply failed him; he had not found any people to play with, nor any decent shops. Just a waste.

The tavern wasn't too bad. It had a homey feel to it with decent looking people. The NPCs looked friendly and people had just started coming in. Someone had brought a lute and soon there was some simple music playing in the background. It was nice. He pulled himself up off of the bar, he reached backwards wanting to stretch out his arms. However, something was blocking him from reaching back. He could feel the cloth of somebodies clothing and the warmth their body emitted. Stretching in a cramped bar was definitely a bad idea.

  15. Verus was for the most part surprisingly calm when he heard about how he was forever trapped in this world. He decided to look at it in a positive way; seeing it as a rebirth of himself. However, the Town of Beginnings was rather large; larger than anything Verus had seen before. He was not really the best at directions either, so in his beginning days he constantly got lost within the megacity. He continued to find himself back at the same tavern after exploring the city and soon became somewhat angry at his lack of direction. Figuring this must be a sign, he went in and took a seat at bar, out of the way of the others that were in there. They were mostly NPCs but he didn’t care. He put his hand up to signal the bartender before remembering he wasn’t of age. With a sigh, he let his head fall and rest on the bar, knowing that he couldn't really order anything. He had little money leftover and didn't really want to waste it on some random tavern food. Verus was out of luck.

  16. Profile

    Username:  Verus

    Real name: Dillon Lynson

    Age: 18

    Birthday: January 14th

    Gender: Male

    Height: 6’3”/ 193 cm

    About: History/personality

Dillon Lynson lived a simple life before his entrance into the game. His father worked for a large computing corporation as a salesman and his mother was simply a kindergarten teacher. Dillion grew up in a larger city in Japan and had a wonderful childhood even though his family was not too fortunate. Through thick and thin, his parents were there for him, even more after the death of his older sister who passed from an unseen tumor in her brain when Dillon was just six.

Dillion looked up to his sister more than anybody. She was incredibly bright and made the most of her life. She was the star athlete in her high school softball team and aced all of her classes. It seemed as if she had laid out a perfect lifestyle for her little brother to follow. An avid gamer, she was the one who got Dillon into the gamin life. She taught him with simple games and eventually showed him the world of MMORPG’s before she died. He tried to move on but never really came out of his shell after the incident.

High school was a giant waste of time in Dillon’s eyes. It wasn’t the fact that the material was hard, but more of the knowledge that most of it would never have to be used after his grade school years were over. Instead of diligently studying and following along with the coursework, Dillon used all of his time tending to his pizza delivery job and gaming. Knowing he wouldn’t be attending college, he stopped showing up to most of classes. A lack of interest was essentially the death of Dillon’s high school career.

Real Personality: It was easy for Dillon to join into groups and make friends when he tried. He could wear a fake smile better than most people and fool them into believing whatever he spit out. Dillon was emotionally distant just enough to make sure nobody would ever question why he wouldn't try harder to become a better friend or to try better in a certain subject. He liked it that way. He worked best when he had only himself to trust in. Others usually just got in the way in his mind. He hadn’t changed his mindset since his sister died and had no set date in the future where he could see himself drastically changing.

In-Game Personality: In character, Dillon wasn’t his real self. He was passionate about his life in the game and tried to keep good relationships with the people he met. A lust for knowledge was one of his main drives in game. He wanted to go everywhere, see everything, do everything. He had a drive. Dillon wanted to learn and build himself from the ground up. Being in groups brought out his best. He seemed at ease when in groups of people he knew and trusted, willing to do everything to help further the team.

    Virtues:

Self-Confident: He’s almost overconfident in his own abilities. His belief in himself follows him from his real life into his game life. He never seems to doubt himself and it almost makes him look slightly brave in certain situations.

Devotion: He’s able to always seem to care about those he truly sees as his friends and family. He’s always comfortable around his people and will do what needs be to keep them safe and together.

Cunning: At the end of the day, he makes sure he is doing well. He has learned how to lie to great extents and can easily trick others into getting what he thinks is best. This being said, he would never do these acts to those he believes are closest to him.

    Flaws:

Bashful: Even though in-game he has a different personality, his old ones sometimes poke through. He is not a fan of being embarrassed teased in front of others and will go to great lengths to make sure it never happens.

Impatient: He sometimes has the tendency to throw mini-fits wanting others to hurry up and proceed to things he would like to do. He believes that time shouldn't be wasted and wishes to always be doing what thinks is the best.

Cold Hearted: Though he believes in doing well and trusting others, he can sometimes come off as an uncaring person. He may provide some extremely harsh truths and thoughts at times where they may not be needed, potentially causing harm.
