  1. "I'm the best ass." He muttered as she joined up with him again. Three health bars now appeared at the top of his screen, with his own being the main one enlarged. It was comforting to know that he had others who would fight with and for him, and it honestly boosted his confidence slightly. He worked well in large parties where he could mess around and relax. On his own he would usually just sorta always stress himself out and worry too much. It was a weird life he lived but it worked for him.

Adhae ran in head on and seemingly landed a critical hit. Her axe grew much brighter than it usually did and well, it excited him. He ran in quickly behind her and attempted to stab at the beast, only to fall short.

Verus messed up his thrust and almost flayed Adhaes arm, just going over it by a few inches. "Sorry!"

  2. "Stay where exactly?" Verus walked alongside his party member, matching her speed. She seemed to walk at just a quicker pace than he did, which was strange because he always thought he walked sorta fast. The sound of her armor clanking was somewhat calming, and he was pretty at ease for being on a floor he was brand new to. The building designs of this floor were visually pleasing and he enjoyed it. He'd always been a big architecture buff back in the real world, and it was nice to see the quality made structures of this new town.

He was almost jealous of his friend and her new piece; he'd wanted something similar himself. Maybe some light armor would fit him better though. He didn't really see himself as heavy armor wearer, rather more of a quick stabbing guy. The jump in and jump out style was what he thought of himself as, which was perfect because he was never really a big tank player in other games either. A light-footed damage dealer appealed to him the most, but he was still jealous of her just for the fact that it felt like she was a step ahead of him. Which was a ridiculous thing to believe since he had two levels on her, but it still floated around in his head. "How much did you spend on it again? A thousand Col right?"

  3. (This will be a little after she just left if that's okay xD)

Verus had decided that it may have been best for him to get a slight upgrade to his arsenal. After discussing the situation over with his partner Adhaerere, the two had decided to use their materials and try to trade in what they had, plus what Col they had left over from their last purchase for a better rapier. If she would be defending him for a while, he figured that he should be able to do as much damage as he possibly can to level the scales. She had given him directions to the shop she had went to, however they were very vague and he could tell that she hadn't remembered to her best potential. The two would meet up in the city later, and continue onwards from there.

It had taken Verus an hour or so of walking around the maze that was the Town of Beginnings before he reached his destination. "The Grand Forge" he muttered, reaching his arm out to open the door. "Better be worth it." The shop itself was somewhat dark, but well kept. As he entered, he spotted what seemed to be its shopkeeper, standing behind the counter and eyeing those who came into his shop. Verus waved slightly with a sheepish grin, and slowly walked over to him, spotting what seemed to be some sort of form on the counter. "Heard you make some...quality items." He avoided eye contact and quickly began to fill out what seemed to be an order form, focusing attention from the keeper slightly. "Had a friend come in here and get some armor, and well she recommended me. She usually knows what she's talking about too."

  4. "Such a mouthful." Verus muttered as Adhae continued on about her mini-quest. However, it seemed the time spent was worth it. She'll be able to take most hits now and only receive an extremely small fraction of what damage could have been taken. "So I'm guessing you won't let me try on the uh, armor....Luster was it? Oh whatever, I don't have the body for it anyway." With a smirk on his face, he put his arms behind his head, slightly cocking his hip to the side as he slowly turned around to look back towards all the low level mobs.At the mention of their, party, Verus took a few seconds to actively respond. "Oh yes, forgot you got out." He hadn't. His motions were slow and methodical, opening his menu was still somewhat new to him. It would take a few seconds for him to always read the buttons to make sure he was right. With a few swipes of his fingers, he sent a request to his friend, turning around while doing so to make sure she see's him. "You should get one now hun."  (I need to charge my computer, phone typing is no fun)

  5. "Nice armor ya got there. Use all our money on it or did you get a deal?" He walked around her and knocked on the newly white (white right?) armor a few times, listening to the clanking sounds it made. It looked sturdy and well made so he assumed she got a good deal on it. "How are your stats? Did ya crush on the shopkeeper?" Verus chuckled and returned to Itzal's side, the sudden realization of her question just now hitting him. "Oh! This is Itzal!" He held out his hands in a show-offy manner. "I bumped into him in one of the NPC markets and well, took him out in the fields."

He turned his head, looking back to Adhaerere for confirmation or approval. "Looking to be a DPS, just like me!"

  6. "You kidding? DPS brothers for life." Versus chuckled and put his hands on his back, trying to pop it. With a slight groan, he raised his arms and stretched every bit of his body. "Besides, we got a tanky girl to protect us anyway. If anything we'll get in her way." Verus began to walk back to the trail, motioning for his friend to follow.

It was a good while until the two made it back to the gate. It was somewhat quiet, but the silence felt right at the time. Upon seeing the wall, he spotted what looked to be their girl in a brand new set of armor. "Hey!" Versus called, raising his hand above his head and waving slightly.

  7. Verus gave his new friend a glare as he thought very passionately about the level he just achieved. He had reached his six level, and got a good bump in the damage he was able to deal. He would be able to essentially one shot most things on the first floor with a successful sword-art hit, and he found that slightly overwhelming. As Itzal sat down in the grass, Verus followed along, positioning himself directly opposite. He nodded to Itzal, slowly opening up his menu and pulling up Adhaerere's profile. With a small touch of the screen, he began to type out a message. "Outside walls." After pressing send, he turned his attention back to Itzal finally. "Come. Let's go see if my friend is ready."

  8. "The fight?" Verus chuckled slightly, let his shoulders sulk as he began to relax. "Oh it was just an argument. Some player and I accidentally collided in a bar, she fell down, and then my partner Adhae came in to intervene. She sorta calmed the situation down and then things just sorta clicked after that." She had been in the city for a while now looking for some armor and he hoped she was alright. She did have a good amount of his col with her, so there was that too. "Not too big of story so to say, but it's how I met my first friend." Verus stood confident with what he just said, looking around to see the sun slightly starting to set.  He pointed to the sight and then motioned for Itzal to follow. "Come, we have things to kill."

    -SUMMARY-

    Itzal: +1 SP, +200 COL

    Verus: +1 SP, +200 COL

  9. "Oh I figured I may as well ask." Verus started to tear at the bread, breaking off about half or so before storing the rest back in his inventory. He was longing for something other than his daily bread and water, but knew that this was how it would be for a couple more levels. With each passing nibble of the bread, Verus felt slightly better. He wasn't sure if it was the nonexistent taste, or just that it gave him something to chew on; it just made him feel good. He perked up a little at Itzal's questioning, finishing off a large piece of bread before responding. "In a way, yes." He swallowed the remnants of the content that was leftover in his mouth and spoke a little louder. "I got into an argument with players at a tavern and I met my partner there." Verus smiled softly, putting away what bread he had left in his hands. "We were both level one and just eager to go out and well, get stronger ya know. I would've died if I went out there alone, though I probably didn't think I would at the time. I felt pretty damn strong."

  10. Verus watched as the gash on his foot began to close up, the visual aspects returning to its normal state. "Yeah that wasn't my first hit." He leaned backwards with his arm to push himself off the ground, and twisted his back slightly, hoping for a popping sound to follow. "Good hits by the way." The two of them had killed a decent amount of mobs, and there was a look in Itzal's eye that made Verus think he wasn't done. He methodically sheathed his rapier and put his hands on his hips, looking around the area. "So, you doing okay? Not tired or anything? Hungry maybe?" Verus quickly opened his menu and pulled out one of the few loafs of bread he had left. "I could share some with you if you want. I mean, i'm not too hungry but I can always eat." He wore a wide grin and held out a piece of the loaf.

  11. While watching Itzal's sword pierce the skin of the beast, Verus scrambled to his feed, getting back into position. However, he felt just slightly off as he stood up. A strange head rush and fuzzy dots slightly messed with his vision; to which he assumed that he had stood up too fast and the blood was messing with his head. He tried to lean forward and jab at the beast, only to hit just over its body. It was if he just pet the wolf with his sword, as it was just resting upon the beasts back for a moment.

The wolf in turn did not seem to like it at all. While still on the ground, the beast rolled and sunk it's teeth into Verus's right foot. He let out a small gasp and tried to kick his foot out of the dog's mouth, looking to Itzal. "Finish it off!"

  12. "Good job on that kill friend." Verus grinned, resting his sword slightly on his shoulder. A slight gust of wind picked up and caused a few strands of his hair to flutter, slightly blocking his vision. "Damn hair....I knew I should've picked either something longer or something shorter...." With his left hand he ran his fingers through his hair, using them as a makeshift comb to push them backwards. A barber or hair changer would be somewhere on his to do list in the upcoming days; he was mildly annoyed. "You want more eh? Well let me hit em first. I'll draw it's aggro and you can come in and be the finisher." It was a solid setup to get Itzal some early levels, and Verus honestly didn't mind it. Adhae would be looking for some armor for a while so it was a good way to spend his time.

    -No health changes-

With a slight turn of his head, Verus spotted a wolf creeping up on the small party. In an attempt to look cool, he decided to let the beast creep up on the two, hoping to stab at it mid-pounce or something. What happened though, was not what he had thought out. As the wolf began to pick up speed to try and attack Verus, it tripped on it's own feet and ended up tumbling into a full stop a few yards away from the two. Verus smirked and quickly tried to turn and retaliate to the fallen wolf, only to step on a rock and fall just in front of the beast, laid out flat on the ground. "Welp."

  13. Verus shrugged as Itzal missed his attack. When he was at that low of a level he missed a good amount of hits too so it wasn't too big of a shocker. "Maybe next time... maybe next time." He laid a hand upon his new partner's shoulder, putting a little amount of force into it. He was motioning for the new player to step back a little bit; it was Verus' turn. "I'll just auto attack it so you can try and last hit it afterwards."

    Boar: 1/4 (-3)

With a simple piercing stab, Verus struck the boar in it's left eye, causing it to squeal rather loudly. There was a strong surge that went through his body once he landed his attack to a point where he could only assume it was a critical hit. The animals eye sputtered and a large red pixelate gash was placed over it. It was interesting how the game was coded in such a way to mock wounds in a certain way that still gave a deadly feel. Verus genuinely enjoyed being able to create those gashes and gushes of pixels that would flow from a mob's body. It was exhilarating. "You're up newbie."

  14. "Oh hell, I'm definitely gonna tank these first few for ya. No point in you dying in two hits." Verus exclaimed rather loudly, stepping slightly forward with his right leg. A sense of protection surged through him, and he tried to use it to his best potential. He drew his rapier and pointed at a boar who had seemed to notice their presence. It seemed that most of the animals on this floor liked to grange on their own, setting up perfect opportunities for new players to take them on. There would be no way in the first few levels that a player would be able to take on more than one of these. Verus was fine with that mindset anyway. He would do some grinding, albeit monotonous, but still level grinding. The col would surely come later on. "Besides, it's pretty fun to run in headfirst without having to worry much." A devilish grin bore on his face as he charged at the boar, looking to start off the fight with a decent simple sword art.

    -No health changed-

Verus easily sidestepped the boar's slow headbutt, looking to retaliate with an attack of his own. However, while jumping out of the way, he messed up his footing, causing his attack to go marginally above the boar's body when he tried to strike it. "You're up newbie! Show it what you're made of!"

  15. "I mean, you can if you want to. But soloing it without me joining in will be much tougher. Its armor will play in if you're wanting to kill it for loot too." He started to nod slowly, playing with his hair while doing so. "It's not like I can stop you, but I would advise you not to start soloing stuff yet." Verus paused, waiting for a quick response afterwards. He started to tap his hand against the hilt of his rapier, watching the boy. (Short post brb)

  16. "Never pegged you for the rogue type." Verus replied, letting out a slight yawn while speaking his next sentence. "But hey, to each their own. Oh and hell if I know, everybody's different. For all I know you could become like....like a lute master or something." Verus began to snicker a little but regained his composure, thinking about what he wanted. "I still have no idea what other skills I want besides rapier and light armor proficiency. I guess I'll figure it out as the world goes on." He nodded, fingers forming into a tight fist. He wanted the power to come faster than it was, but knew it would take months of his time. A small sigh escaped him and he rested is left hand on the grip of his sword, looking forward. "So..."

  17. "Well I'm a little different on my views of skills." As they walked, he put his hands behind his head, holding it up and angling his view slightly towards the sky, eyes shut while doing so. "See, I think of sword level and armor level as primary skills, while everything else is sorta sub-skill. I know that all skills are pretty equal but it's just how I see it." His thoughts faded quickly as his eyes followed some of the low-flying clouds. It had been sunny every day he'd been in here so far, and he was craving some rain.   He was overly silent for half a minute or so, picking back up on where he left of. "I mean like, fishing or sneaking or well....now that I say it out loud it sounds a little absurd." Verus chuckled and put his arms down, looking straight ahead on the dirt road they were walking on.

  18. Verus paused, watching Itzal play around with his best friend. He remembered doing the same thing when he first got his sword. It was truly a great powerful feeling holding a long piece of metal able to do a decent amount of damage. "Oh no, I was just watching to see how you'd do. Plus you had enough health to where even if the mob did hit, it wouldn't kill ya." Verus grinned and motioned for Itzal to come walk with him. "You could probably solo a boar by yourself now, but it would take numerous turns and its just more work than if you had me there." Level one was a bitch. A real bitch, but that was passed him, he's now almost level six and about to be a journeyman with his rapier. Times were good. "So, have you thought about sub skills at all?"

  19. It was Itzal's first attack, and luckily for him his landed and the boars attack missed. A successful attack from that boar would have brought him down to a measly one health, and he'd have to hide for the rest of the battle to regenerate. It truly was one of the toughest levels to overcome because if by some chance the boar lands a critical hit, it'll wipe you from the face of the game. Truly scary stuff. "Good Job!" Verus called out, waving his hand and giving a thumbs up as he started to follow up with his own attack.

    Boar: 0/4 (-3)

Verus decided to use a simple auto attack, not wanting to expend much energy to the half-healthed boar. With a simple thrust of his sword into the boar's side, the beast fell. It slowly disintegrated into the familiar fluttering red pieces. After sheathing his weapon, he looked to Itzal for confirmation on his question. "More or call it? You should have leveled up by now."

     Battle: 9

  20. Verus nodded as Itzal made his way over, watching his own health bar quickly refill back to its maximum. "Yeah sorry about that...you can hit first on this next boar." He tapped his rapier against his boot and pointed to Itzal. "You don't have your sword equipped. Why not?" It seemed just sorta pointless to be running around without a weapon. It was better to have it at the ready then to go into the menu and find it in the midst of a battle. However, he didn't worry about it much. Itzal would learn eventually. "Oh also one bad thing about having me here." He paused, letting his sword arm hang slightly. "It'll be impossible to acquire any loot. These mobs are too low to generate it while i'm anywhere near....so sorry about that."

  21. Verus stopped, tilting his head at the player. He hadn't heard of what this guy was just talking about. "Did you just say kill other players?" He knew the game was PvP and all but never had thought that it was a permanent death. There was a slight tone of confusion in his voice, but he shook his head, trying to play it off. "Eh oh well. Besides you're right; I ain't dyin' to nothing." There was a small brown fleck in the corner of his vision, and he slowly turned, spotting a small boar grazing in an open field. Verus slowly drew his sword, listening to the sound it made. Once drawn he held it out, pointing towards the beast. "I'll hit it first so it'll aggro on me. There's a high chance I'll one shot it, but you never know. Follow behind and hit it afterwards if it's still standing." With that, Verus broke off in a slight jog towards the beast.

He had a strong mind to impress Itzal, and called upon his favorite sword art. "Rip Rivine!" He called out, letting his sword grow a bright purple as he approached the beast. Something felt slightly different about this skill this time though, as his sword was growing an even darker shade of purple with black spiraling around his rapier. He was about to land a huge critical hit and he could feel it. With a sneer on his face, Verus sliced twice right through the body of the boar just as it was biting his left leg. The power behind his attack cut the boar into three large parts, each of them falling a different direction as the boar let out a bloodcurdling squeal. "Stupid thing..." Verus muttered as the boar exploded into hundreds of red particles, all of which fluttered in the air.  His eyes tried to find Itzal, who was now just catching up to him.

  22. "If you can land every shot and have someone else take the damage for ya, what else more can you need?" He smiled, but thought of how Adhae was always his wall he'd fight and hide behind. It was a wonderful combo; she'd take and deflect most of the hits due to her high armor stats and he'd run around and do as much damage as possible. It never took them more than a few hits to take out a creature, but then again they'd only defeated a handful or so low levels. However, a level one boar shouldn't be much of an issue.

"At our levels, we don't have much developed or perfected; just simple sword arts on low levels. The more fun stuff comes later on...hopefully." The two had made it a decent ways out of the gate, but still had some walking to do before they arrived at some of the open fields. Verus had always struggled with small talk with new people, but he seemed to be doing somewhat decent with Itzal. "You uh, you planning on going full knighthood? Or more of a brute type build?" He'd always loved talking about builds and point progression in most games. The concept of truly fine-tuning your character was always a big seller to him as it allowed hundreds of different potential builds. "Straight sword can pretty much fit anywhere. Hell you could even just play it safe and be a fisherman if you wanted."

  23. The sea of NPC's had passed, and only a couple stragglers were attending to some of the now-empty non-player run shops. "Just some programmed shoppers, nothing big." He laughed, letting out a slight sigh. "Gotta love em though." After making sure Itzal was following, Verus continued on, spotting one of the many gates leading out of the city. "There shouldn't be something too far out of the city, what weapon are you using?" He had honestly not checked what the new guy was using, and it truly didn't matter to him. If it did any form of damage it would be viable, especially at a low level. "You uh...you know how to fight right?" (Short posts sorry dealing with something atm)

  24. Verus welcomed the handshake and gripped his hand, shaking it firmly. Itzal was stronger than he looked, well at least his handshake was. Then again, some people just have good grip. "Nice to meet ya. You can call me Verus, or V, or really whatever its just an ingame name." He grinned, shutting his eyes slightly while he ruffled his hair. "We'll have to make a short trip outside the walls, but there's always a couple herds of boar running around." Verus motioned for Itzel to follow, and started to walk off towards the direction he first arrived from. "First we've gotta head to the gate which is only-" His sentence was cut short by the various amounts of NPC's who just got increasingly loud. It was like they were swarming from one market to the next, however he held up his hand to Itzel, signaling for him to catch up to him. "We gotta get to the gate!" Verus raised his voice to a slight holler as he tried to speak over the crowd.
