  1. He slightly felt like he was being talked to like he was a second grader, but he thought not much of it as she continued to question his life. Verus would have never pegged her for a Mallory, it was an ancient sounding name. One that reminded him slightly of an old actor or severely old widow. It was a nice name nonetheless. "Pleasure to meet you miss Mallory James." He did a slight bow and followed at her side, quickly chirping in when she spoke of food and drink. "Simple sushi has always been my favorite since I was very young. The hundreds of variations and taste it brought was always delightful." He smiled, thinking back to the good gas station sushi he was able to afford. It was never anything spectacular, but it always left a good taste in his mouth. "I'm not one for sodas or the like, but I've always been fond of tea, with the all-time best being Green Tea, of course." His boot lacing felt slightly off, and he stopped for a moment, crouching over to retighten his footwear. "I turned eighteen maybe eight months ago, somewhere around there. It all seems fuzzy now trying to remember it." After his boot was at his desired tightness, he stood back up and looked to the lady. "Alright let me guess, thirty-eight, no thirty-seven."

  2. "It figures that you're used to taking a pounding." He retaliated as she began laughing, grinning soon after, knowing he may have gone a little to far into making a joke. However, the sword drop was truly funny, but he could not show that he could laugh at himself this early on. He would fully open up later, as it had only been a couple days into the game. "I kid, I kid, but yeah I guess it will be my job to deliver the final blows. Just a few more levels and I'll be dishing it out even more." Verus made a fist and pulled it towards his body, in a motion that symbolized the future score he would get. When asked about his age, he replied quickly. "Dillon." It was spoken simply and pure, not a trace of a second thought about it in his voice. He had not cared about if his name would get out or not, as it was just a name like any other persons. "You look like...like a Denise. No wait, a Shelly. Definitely a Shelly."

  3. "You look more like....a bank teller. Yeah, that's what you look like." He grinned as he charged up his skill shot. He was saving it for a moment where he would for sure be able to land it. Verus was tired of missing some of his skill shots anyway. He wanted that perfect accuracy that only came in the late stages of games. It would be months until he would ever be good enough to do so.

"Rip Rivine!" He called out as he slashed a wide V into the ass of the animal. It let out a whimper and was quickly destroyed. He stood tall, doing a slight sword twirl after he was finished killing the beast, only to quickly drop it on the ground. Verus quickly picked it back up and acted as if nothing happened, coughing slightly. "You know, I'm finishing off more of these then you can." Verus skipped out on replying to one of her questions, deciding it was too early to tell too much about his personal life. He was instead greeted by a popup, which let out a small chant of"Looted thirty Col." He had also gained a skill point in the process as well as 200 more Col that must come with every skill point. "Neat."

  4. Verus followed along, letting her attack first again. "I never pegged you as a teacher ya know." He prepared for a basic attack, not really feeling like attacking with one of his skills. He wanted to sit back and watch for a moment and study the attack patterns, but alas he had no time. "It just wasn't my thing, I didn't really fit in or enjoy it. Just sorta...eh." He unsheathed his sword and tired to slice at the beast, aiming for its face. However, his attack was slightly off and he slashed just to the side of the animal.

He pulled back for a moment, and motioned for Adhae to go back in. He had a slight feeling that she would be able to finish it off in her next turn, and he would be able to get back on to talking. It was slightly nice to be able to converse with someone; it had been weeks since he had actually had contact with anyone other than an occasional phone call from his parents. Verus truly enjoyed it.

  5. The wolf alert was noted with a slight nod, and he thought for a moment, deciding on what to tell her. "I uh, dropped out of high school and work from home." There was a slight hint of embarrassment in his voice, but he hid it well for the most part. "Taking up some coding jobs and such, kinda like an IT guy if you could think of it like that." He paused, thinking back to his actual life where he would just sit in his room for days on end. Thousands of hours of gaming have been logged with his setup, as well as a good amount into coding and some programming. However, that was all gone now.

"Anything computer based has always been fun to me. Building them and learning what to do to make them better was always a good time." Verus turned to look at the wolf in the distance, seeing it sitting up and staring our way. It had spotted us, but had not really done anything afterwards. "What about you lady? I know that your ingame name is confusing to say and that's about it."

  6. "We just really need the Col thats all..." His voice trailed off as he poked at where the beast once laid. He wondered if they ever re-spawned somewhere, maybe in a different field or forest. It would be weird if they were just erased from the code of the game; why put in the work if they were just going to be deleted by new players? There were doubts he had about the whole game, but it was far too early for him too confirm any suspicions. He looks up when she mentions something about leveling up, and his mood slightly changes into a cheerful state. It was true, he was close to getting another level in his sword skill. After this one all he would need is five more and he'd be the best journeyman of a rapier the game has ever seen.

"A quiz eh?" He sheathed his sword and walked alongside her, slightly shorter than his partner. Verus could not remember the last time he ever talked about himself in a game, it was always about his character. It was a weird concept, but he seemed willing to play along.

  7. The both seemed to be missing the creature who was skillfully jumping past every swing and stab we had. It was strangely fun for it being a potential death battle; there was something about it that was more calm then the other few fights. However, this still was a death-dealing wolf if we did not kill it in time. He prepared his sword and thrusted forward, preparing his Rip Rivine skill.

He watched as the tip of his sword penetrated through the wolf's ribs, going in about halfway through its body. It let out a small howl before exploding into pieces, signifying its death. "Not too bad." He wiped his sword on his pants and looked to Adhae, who didn't seem to be too beat up. "No Col from this one. Sorry."

  8. Verus had toned out much of what he was saying as his eyes were transfixed on the beast. Its fur ran down and melded together to form a giant white...fluffball for the lack of a better word. It was beautiful in a sense of how it appealed to the eye, and his trance was only interrupted by the sight of it being struck by Adhae. She must have jumped into attack mode without him really realizing it. He slowly drew his sword and followed behind, watching its movements the whole way. It was slow to attack, not really ready for the threat of two incoming opposers. They would be able to take it down quickly.

His sense of beauty for the beast turned into bloodlust, and he quickly moved past Adhaerere, triggering his go-to skill, Rip Rivine. He had liked that it made a V strike after completion, almost as if he was leaving a small signature of his in game name onto any opponent he crossed. His sword shone bright purple and he attempted to make contact, only to flinch at the last second and miss the attack. It was a shame, he would be reverted to killing the beast with simple auto attacks, but that wouldn't be too hard.

  9. "..." He had little reply to the kissing comment, as he had never actually met a girl that would actively like him. Sure he had friends but it was never more than that. His cheeks slightly reddened, and he sheathed his sword, listening to her go on and on. Soon after she was done she was dragging him to another fight, just as she had done before. Verus had gotten slightly used to it and would just occasionally nod and follow along. He never really saw too much in arguing with people he had just met, wanting to come off as a nice person who would listen and understand.

They had walked for some time around the town, looking to find a singled out boar like they had the times before. "We've been walking foreverrr Adhae. Get strong enough to carry me." He was whining, but was curious to see what she would do after wards. In the corner of his field of vision, he saw something grey and curled up. It looked to be like a wolf of sorts, sleeping in a pasture. He tapped on her shoulder and pointed at the creature, waiting for a response.

  10. The boar struck his side, knocking him int the ground and driving one of its tusks slightly into his shoulder. "Son of a..." he muttered before half of a boars body fell on top of him. Adhae had managed to cut the beast into two pieces, the front end falling onto him before it disappeared into red coded particles. "Thanks for giving me that...special moment with a boar carcass." He picked himself up and poked at his own wound, trying to see if it would hurt anymore. It was not too bad, but still was a decent amount of pain. The good news is that he would regen all that health up in a few seconds, as it only did a fourth of his total health points. His sword was covered in dirt, and he began to wipe it against his pants to try and clean it off. "Filthy thing smelled awful, like its mouth was probably a foot away from mine and I felt like I could taste it." He grinned and gently knocked her axe with his sword, nodding to her. "That was a pretty good hit for an old lady like yourself."

  11. He took note of her Col comment and did a slight nod without really showing it. He would be willing to give her all the Col he had if it meant he would have a human shield to hide behind. That alone is worth far much more. "It was a crit alright, I felt a surge of power flow through my arm as I struck the thing." It was a very satisfying feeling, slightly tingly that gave a decent headrush. Maybe he'd turn into a critical hit based player and max up all his special skills. However, he had no idea where he was going with his play style. All he knew is that he was going to get damned good with a Rapier.

"Did you just call me squirt?" Verus drew his sword and followed in after her, in the same attack pattern that they had done for the animal prior. However, this time both she and the beast had missed each other. "Lets go Adhae!" He stopped for a moment and watched as the beast fell flat right in front of the two. There was a slight moment of confusion that went through Verus's head, wondering whether it was dead or just tripped or something. It made a slight squeal and immediately he plunged his sword at it. "Rip Rivine!"

  12. He watched as her expressions rapidly changed and thought it was slightly funny. A small chuckle escaped him before she went on and on about various other topics. The one he picked out of the batch though was one about fighting again. He was feeling pretty confident after his last skill landed, and was pretty eager to go try it again. The level up brought about some much needed health, but then again any addition to his health was pretty great. They had a good amount of health to go and take on a slightly harder animal, hopefully getting a little more Col from it than the last boar they killed.

Adhae had spotted a seemingly larger boar out in the distance. It's black matte fur made it fairly easy to pick out, and it had sizable tusks for a low level creature. As soon as we were in decent range of the animal, she charged forward without giving a notice. He grunted and started to run slightly after her. There was only a glimpse of the boar missing and Adhae's attack landing before Verus had run around to the side and activated his own Sword Art.

His rip rivine skillshot left a bright purple V from in the creature but only lasted seconds until it disintegrated. "Easy." He muttered, standing fully straight up. "Nice work shrimp, next time don't run in there without telling me first."

  13. He pulled the menu over to the ever-curios Adhaerere, who was literally crawling over him to see where he would spend his points. He laughed and showed her where he had been pooling all of his skill points into. "All of the points I have have been put into perfecting my Rapier skill." He showed here the now 7 points that were allotted to the skill progression. "Six more points and i'll be doing a good amount more damage then what i'm doing now." He grinned and sheathed his sword, making sure not to get hit in the head with her huge axe. It was true that it would take dozens of more boars to gather enough gold to buy just one decent item, but he was prepared to go through the process. They had twelve health a piece now; a good amount to play around with at these low levels. He was siked, but showed no emotional other than his simple grin that he always wore. Verus patted off the leftover dust on his pants legs and stretched out his back, looking around a bit. He noticed that she still had a red pixelated gash on her stomach, and was somewhat intrigued. "You alright there? Seem to be fake-bleeding a little bit." He started to poke at her stomach a little bit, pulling back just to check if he got any new Sword Arts. "Nah, I got nothing. What about you?"

  14. The little building was cute in a sense of how cozy it was. It had a solid homey feel about it, and the people inside all seemed to be having a good time. He had originally planned to just stick to bread and water for the first few days, trying to save up as much col as possible. However, Adhae had urged him to follow her into the building, wanting to have a meal other than bread and water for once. He was personally fine with the simple meals for a while, but he knew overtime that would change.

"I uh, I honestly don't know if I need anything here..."His voice trailed off as he was handed a menu. It was rather surprising that this many items were available in a simple video game. Verus was rather intrigued with the list of things, and began to read through all of the potential orders. He knew he needed to contain himself, but it was just so tough. She had mentioned something green and he quickly searched for some sort of salad, peering up over his menu when she had asked him what he was getting. "Oh...just probably water. I don't believe I'll be getting much here."

  15. Verus watched as Adhae had taken the lead once again, and took note of her first skill. Her axe turned bright red and was struck as if she were chopping down a tree. It cut right into the boar, enough to know that it was a pretty decent chunk of its health. In turn, Adhae took a ramming to the body, but that was to be expected. This boar was somewhat stronger then the two they had faced before, as if it had some slight armor or something. Verus probably stood there for an over-extended amount of time, watching the battle take place before even thinking about jumping in. He quickly moved his sword to his side and started up a slight jog at the creature, getting ready to try and use a skill shot.

"Rip Rivine!" He yelled as vast his Sword Art. His rapier turned a bright purple as he slashed a V into the boars side, watching as it shattered into thousands of pieces. The two had landed both of their skills, effectively deleting the boar from the game. After he had completed his attack he stood just slightly above Adhae, holding out a hand. As Adhae was gripping onto his hand to be pulled up, a slight popup appeared in front of him, showing that he had acquired some loot as well as leveled up. He pulled his hand away to check the stats, swiping it back and forth to check "Hell yes."

  16. He nodded to her as she mocked her skill shot, watching the power behind her swing. He doubted he would ever have that sort of power behind a swing, but then again he was not supposed to be able to. He was a quick in and out guy, and he liked it that way. "So, how do we want to do this this time? I can always take the lead if you want to..." His voice trailed off as he watched the boar slowly walking our way. It was like the AI was asking for a rematch, and he desperately wanted it. "I'm down for any approach, I'm just wanting my next skill point." He grinned and looked at her, waiting for a response while he stretched out his arms in a circular motion.

  17. His breathing pattern calmed down to a point where he was back to a normal state. He ran free hand's fingers through his hair and turned slightly away from her, looking back to the boar they had just run from. "We missed everything we had." Like a child, he kicked up some dirt in a little second of mixed feelings. She was trying to calm the situation down but he was just mildly upset with his performance. He quickly spun on his heels, looking back at her and pointing out his sword hand. "Let's go get some revenge on that thing." He wore a small grin and squinched his eyes for a moment, trying to get out of the suns glare. "We aren't leaving until we kill that one right there....beef and all." This time he would land his skills, this time he would do better. He felt it.

With a sword pointed out, he made the motion of his Sword Skill without activating it. It was a slight V in the air, a quick flick of the wrist would achieve it. There was damage potential behind it; much more then a basic attack. "Show me the motions of your move again."

  18. ID# 61336 results:  Craft: 12

Verus had managed to catch up with Adhae's resting spot, being a little bit lighter on his feet. The boar had tried to follow up on attack but couldn't catch him in time. He was slightly out of breath, but for the most part, the two were safe. It was a weird feeling running from something that was so easily killable. If he wasn't inside the game, things would have been slightly different. "That...blew..." He spoke between each large breath he was taking. His left hand was positioned on his hip, holding his sword at his side and slightly bent backwards, almost looking up towards the sky. "Time to regen the health right? Or are you done."

  19. The boar struck Verus in the stomach and he slightly slunched over on top of it, being pushed backwards by the force of the boar. He slid backwards a few feet, boots dragging in the ground. The pain was bearable, but just. He used his free hand to hold his stomach while he pointed his other sword at the beast, slowly beginning to back away towards where Adhae was. Maybe he could keep it at bay for a second while they started there escape by acting like he was going in again. He would need to study the creatures to learn their patterns and such, but he considered this encounter a semi-faliure. They got to experience a botched fight and learned how it felt to be attacked and hit. It was not pleasant.

"Time to leave miss paladin." He started backing up, still holding his sword at the ready. We'd need to train more or something. Our luck with our first two encounters was somewhat rare, and they were not ready for this fight.

  20. He watched as the boar targeted Adhae, running right through her as it finished its attack. Things were not going well. Verus ran past her, confronting the boar. He held out his sword in a line towards the animal, preparing for his next attack. With a quick step, he lunged forward, attempting to strike a piercing blow to the mob. Verus watched as his attack was simply sidestepped, the animal snorting at me in almost a mocking tone. His party was losing a two on one attack against a single, low level enemy.

    Battle: 5

    Verus: 8/8

    Boar: 4/4

Quickly Verus took a few steps back, standing slightly over Adhae to block her from the boar. "Get up and run." His tone was alarmingly soft for the situation, with a slight tremble in his voice. There was no point in taking chances; they would try and run to fight another time. Losing to a simple boar this early would be a humiliating death, and there was no point in sticking around. The two would try to head back to the town, rest up, and try again.

  21. He quickly shook his head to Adhae's rock idea having a slight suspicion that that would not work. "A whole pack chasing us would lead to our deaths, or me pushing you down so I could get away." Verus smiled while he opened up his menu, scrolling through a couple of pages about himself. After he found what he was looking for, he closed it out and drew his rapier, nodding to her request of moving to a different location and followed close behind her. It would be several levels before the two of us could even fathom about thinking of taking on and winning a multiple enemy battle. The two were extremely weak and would be for a while.

She had found a lone boar standing in a field after a short walk. The two had seen each other and Adhae was the first to strike, missing the boar as it quickly sidestepped the halfassed attack. The boar then tried to go in to retaliate, missing its initial attack as well. He was going to have to do everything himself. With a slight raise of his sword, he charge at the boar, attacking in a certain V pattern. It was the Sword Art skill he was looking for earlier, it supposedly did far more damage then he could with a basic attack. Alas, he has fell into the same pattern as the two predecessors that attacked each other; he missed. He overshot his attack and struck just above the boar, doing all the damage to the air. "Great."

     Battle: 4

    Verus : 8/8

    Boar : 4/4

  22. Verus closed out of his menu and looked about the horizon. The sun seemingly stayed in the sky forever, and it put its beams down on a particular few boar out in the distance. It was a good walk away, but they really needed to start farming. He pointed towards a part of the forest, where a decent amount of boar were gathered. "We'll die there if we head straight in." His tone was almost too upbeat, as if he didn't mean to say it in such jolly tone. It was true though. There were dozens of them just huddled together, grazing the pastures of wild grass. They would have to pick off a pack one by one to ensure easy kills, which should not be too hard. "What's the strategy here shrimp?"(shortpost)

  23. He smiled at the tug of his shirt and followed along, keeping up with how fast she talked. Adhae would be a good wall to hide behind and deal damage, or at least he hoped. It would be a good combo; a solid defense and a quick in-and-out damage dealer. Verus would be more than happy to give over his col, be it that he only really cared about his skill points. The armor and items would fall into place later on throughout the game. He did not speak up about her asking for gold, continuing to have a somewhat blank expression that only changed for occasional glances at the surrounding stores. He was not quite ready to open up yet; it would usually take him days or weeks to in other games to his party members. He figured that a somewhat business-style way of acting would be suitable for the first few levels, and then he would get all friendly when the time was right.

"I'm pretty sure they're just available to use at any point. If you look in the menu..." He pulled up his own with his hand, letting her peek at his information. "..you can see that as a Novice with my Rapier, I can use the skills listed." Only a few of them showed up, and out of them he would only be able to perform one at his current level. He'd have to try it out on one of these beasts in a few minutes or so. "What about you?"

  24. Verus nodded to her constant points at various pieces of armor, slightly amused by all the excitement she had. This girl acted as if she were fifteen years younger sometimes and it was pretty fun to watch. Coming back to the town he knew they would be unable to buy anything from their level up money, even if they pooled together and tried to get just one thing. It would be a day or so of farming creatures before the two would even be able to buy something as lowly as some old iron boots. However, this was what the game intended for its players to do; work hard and progress.

He stopped in front of a bakery and peered inside as soon as Adhae began to spoke. He had hardly eaten anything since beginning the game, as he was trying to ration out his bread supply. It would last him several days but he would have to continue on slightly hungry. "We might as well set up a camp out in the fields." Verus nodded his head and pointed towards the way they just came from. "Let's go back and get you some armor." The boars would be easy pickings now that he had leveled up. His health got doubled and he was finally able to try out one of his sword art skills. This would be fun.
