Hearing Spidey's response Shepard couldn't help but laugh out loud a little "well maybe we will maybe we won't." As he finished he took notice of a shadow moving across the plains looking he saw a small bird that seemed to be heading to a nearby tree 'might as well check' looking back to Spidey to let him know "hey, Spidey I'm gonna check over by the tree." Pointing towards the tree so that he knew were he would be. As Shepard was walking over to the tree the bird disappeared into it the tree itself wasn't much different from a dogwood it looked about the same as one. As soon as he walked under the tree the shot out of it's hiding place and into the sky leaving behind a mess of twigs leaves and a feather. "Hey Spidey i think I've found one" picking up the feather he examined the item it was blue with a hint of black at the tip. Moving back to Spidey he placed it into his inventory so he wouldn't loose it. "Having any luck?"

I want this to be a mitigation based familiar

"A friend" Shepard mumbled under his breath. The next words that came out of Atzo he never could've predicted. Shepard stopped walking "Give me a moment to think" going deep into thought Shepard zoned out everything but the question 'he wants me to join his guild he says it could help me find Juni but...' snapping out of his concentration he looked back at Atzo with no emotion in his face the facade he usually put up when he was serious about something. "Thank you for the offer but I'll have to decline" he only stopped long enough for Atzo to register his answer then he continued "it's nothing to do with you it's just that I don't have the time to devote myself to a guild at the moment, however I do have a proposal if you ever need help with something just PM me and I will help in any way I can in exchange I'd like any information you find about Juni given to me." Walking over to Atzo he extended his hand "is it a deal?" At the end he let a sly smile out.

When Spidey pressed the accept button Shepard turned back to the old man "we'll be back with the materials in a little while." Turning back to the door he started to walk out but not before the old man was able to get some words out "by the way my name is Zacharia and good luck to you." The old NPC man said as they walked out "jet huh... I like it man it's better than saying Shepard all the time I bet just don't get other players calling me that." at this point Shepard had already started on his way down the street and towards the gate that separates the town of beginning's and the plains. "Hey it would probably be a good idea to search outside of town for mats." Taking the lead he started towards the the entrance to the plains. 'This is going to be too easy.'

((OOC- go ahead and post and sorry for the short reply I've been busy.))

Shepard moved in closer holding out the meat that Atzo gave him in town to the dragon. It seemed to take notice of him as soon as he approached Shepard could see clearly that the dragon was deciding whether or not to run. Crouching down he held the meat out to it as it slowly moved forward at a steady pace. As soon as it got close enough the dragon reached out with lighting speed grabbing the slab of meat and scarfing it down without a second thought. At this Shepard saw an opening sitting down beside it he started stroking it's mane 'magnificent I never thought I'd be this close to a dragon let alone see one' his thoughts were interrupted by the swearing of Atzo as he took damage from the boar 'how did I forget we were fighting' Shepard got up quickly to help when Atzo out of nowhere activated an art striking the boar down. "Man I don't want to get on your bad side." As the boar exploded into pixels Atzo started back to town "are you sure you don't want to get yours now" he followed Atzo back to town only turning back to see that the dragon was following him taking little effort in keeping up. 'it almost looks like a shadow' as it kept to his shadow while they walked "I think I'll name you shadow you like that." Shadow blew smoke from his nostrils in agreement as he walked. Remembering that he had left Atzo to deal with the boar he apologized "Sorry for leaving you to deal with that boar Atzo."

Shepard just couldn't find the shop they were all the same to him the only difference was the signs they were all different in color size and shape. "You would think for someone that studied medieval life I'd be able to find a simple alchemy store." Saying this in an almost sarcastic tone he realized that Spidey had just asked him to join a party with the screen popping up in front of him he hesitated "why not." And with that he mashed the accept button on the screen. He hadn't even realized he walked right past their destination until Spidey called out for him "did you just call me Jet?" Asking him in a questioning voice as he moved to the shop it seemed like a regular store campared to the others it didn't look that great for a quest givers shop but as soon as he walked in his opinion changed quickly. The smell was the first thing he noticed it was indescribable and this inside look even more so it looked like it had every kind of potion in the game. There seemed to be no one here so Shepard walked up to the counter that was situated in the middle of the room effectively citing it in half. He leaned over it to see if anyone was behind it 'nothing' he straightened up a little and knocked on the counter "anyone home!" After a minute or to an elderly man peeked around a corner in the back "oh hi there you must be looking to buy some potions, I tell you what if you can bring me say five materials each I'll give both of you some of the good stuff how does that sound." As the old man finished a quest screen popped up asking if we wanted to accept or not. Looking over to Spidey "sounds easy enough shall we?" 

((OOC- sorry for the long post trying to get some of this dialogue over with oh and underlined bold is what I'm going to use for when someone else is talking to us ))

Shepard's mind had started to wander again going back to the thought of were Juni might be, he hasn't seen her anywhere on the first floor so she must be on one of the higher floors 'that means that I need to gain more levels so I can find her' by now Shepard was so deep in thought that he didn't even notice a figure slipping behind the tree he was sitting under as he  was just starting to relax under the shade of the tree when Spidey came out behind it trying to scare him or so it seemed. "oh hey there Spidey I wasn't expecting you to be here so soon," reacting very calmly to Spidey's surprise still siting in the shade leaning against the tree he continued "but lets get to business the quest I mentioned is given by an old NPC man by the name of Zachariah, his shop is supposed to be around here somewhere but I can't seem to find it" standing up and brushing the dirt off of his pants he started off towards the center of the market are to get a better view. Looking back of his shoulder he called out to Spidey "come on lets get this show on the road!"

'Were is this shop' Shepard thought as he moved through the town of beginning's in the morning sun. It was early morning and barely anyone was on the streets the perfect time to get things done without attracting unnecessary attention. He had been looking for a shop owned by a man named Zakaria but unfortunately Shepard was having a difficult time finding the place. "It may be a good idea to bring someone else so they can get some experience" mumbling under his breath he brought up his friends list quickly typing a message to a friend he made on his first day here. 

(Hey Spidey I've got a quest that seems promising if you want to join me meet me at the market.)

Pressing send he sat in the shade of a nearby oak tree and waited patiently for Spidey to arrive. Pulling his sword out and stabbing it into the ground 'maybe he will prove to be a reliable friend and source for me.'

Walking around the town of beginnings Shepard let out a long yawn he hadn't been sleeping very well the last few days mainly because he was sleeping on benches and under trees due to his lack of funds to rent a room at one of the inns in town but at least it was better than sleeping out of town 'that would be suicidal' thought Shepard sarcastically and secondly he had been having a recurring nightmare where he had finally found Juni only for her to die in his arms but as soon as she shattered he would wake up to find it was just a dream. "well I need to make some money because I really don't feel like sleeping outside tonight" he spoke through yet another yawn and stretching out his arms for the sun to bath him in the morning rays. "Wait a second" looking up at the sun he could clearly see that it was well into the morning "oh crap baskets it's already this late in the day how am I supposed to get something substantial done before nightfall" Shepard had to think quickly if he wanted to get something done it would need to be simple and easy something even a newbie could do and thats when he realized he still hadn't done the beginners quests 'well I guess it will have to do now what was the place it was located at wasn't it an alchemy shop shouldn't be too hard to find' but what he didn't realize was that he had just jinxed himself.

Hearing that Atzo could relate to him was a bit of a surprise to Shepard enough of one to make him lose concentration on his target and swipe his sword right over the boars head. As he listened to Atzo's past while walking back he said "I'm sorry if brought up bad memories looks like we have similar burdens..." but before he could even finish his sentence when something caught his eye's "there is movement in the woods" a small black figure moved out from a bush in the woods 'it seemed to be stretching out its WINGS!!!' "is that a dragon" it looked as if it had just hatched from its egg it was about the size of a wolf its black leathery wings were torn at there backs and its brown mane was blown to the side from the wind. It's eyes were a deep blue similar to that of his own but its eyes didn't seem to interested on the fact that there were two players not twenty feet from it. "forget a dog looks like I'm getting a dragon."

Shepard was standing outside the Black palace were the monument of life was located. He had made it part of his daily routine to stop here and make sure Juni's name wasn't crossed out it gave him some comfort knowing she was alive. He made his way into the palace it was always the same the large room was dimly lit with the monument in the center. As he walked up he took notice of two players that were in front of it one of them had cat ears that reminded him of someone he met on the first day here. When he got there it took him a minute to find her name it wasn't crossed out. "Thank god." he knew said this out loud but didn't care who herd him he rested his head on the monument and continued "I will find you no matter what" his eyes started to water as he spoke the next words "I promise." He had been thinking about Juni a lot lately and had been having nightmares about her dying it had been taking its toll on him and it was starting to show.

By the time Shepard had gotten to the main gate the blue haired player was no ware to be seen. "If you want to get yourself killed then fine." Yelling out in the direction the player went. With that Shepard started back to the group at a slower pace giving him time to think out loud. "Some people just have a death wish, why do I always risk myself to help someone I don't even know  have to survive this death game if I don't then I'll never get strong enough to see Juni and ask her for forgiveness." As he closed the distance between him and the group Shepard could see the group had gotten larger a black haired player and a very familiar blonde from earlier today had joined in the mix. "Hey there Dominion I see you found our little group."

While Shepard was charging the boar the wind picked up again throwing his hair into his face causing him to strike the ground in front of the boar "curse this hair." Using his forward momentum to side step away from the boar coming up next to Atzo. "I'm not one of those people who go about telling everyone their life story but..." Taking a deep breath he continued. "The truth is I've never been comfortable talking to people not here or in reality I guess that's why I solo a lot." Giving a fake smile so Atzo wouldn't sense anything was wrong Shepard raised his sword in front of himself. "But if you truly want to know what makes me tick what keeps me alive then I'll let you in on my secret." Stopping only to breath and think of what he would say next Shepard sighed a little letting his smile fade. Looking deep into his cage he pulled out his words and continued. "What keeps me from giving up and dying is guilt, I feel guilty for traping my best friend in here with me, all she wanted to do was wait until morning but I talked her into going in early I'm the reason we're stuck in this death game I need to see her again and tell her that I'm sorry for what I've done to her."

"Well if your his friend" putting his sword back into its sheath on his back Shepard started relax a little still not fully trusting this new guy "then there's no need for" stopping mid sentence as a blue haired man shot past them almost running into him "what the!" darting to the side so not to be mowed down by the player. His eyes followed the man when all of a sudden he took a sharp turn to 'oh no' Shepard thought to himself "um guys I think we should stop him" pointing towards the blue haired player that was in a full sprint to the main gate. Before Shepard knew it he was running to stop the man before he got himself killed.  "Hey stop it's to dangerous out there." He didn't know if he heard him but Shepard had to try. Looking around for the source of the man's fleet while he was running. Shepard's eyes locked onto a familiar form a large blonde player with an equally large axe "is that..."

'he is holding back' Shepard was surprised to hear Atzo say that seeing how much health the boar lost.'he didn't even use a sword art'  charging forward holding his sword resting above his shoulder ready to strike. When he swung however it came down to slow and the boar jumped back before the attack connected. Back stepping to a safe distance Shepard cursed himself 'how did I miss' hearing Atzo's question caught him off gaurd a little he wanted to know something about him. "well I'm not used to wielding a sword yet if it's not obvious enough"

Opening his mental cage so that he could greet the other players by putting on a friendly smile. "Hey there I couldn't help but notice you weren't acting like everyone else so we thought it would be a good idea to come over and break the ice so to say." Pushing his hair back Shepard looked over the two players, the male player named Hydra was a brunette with a large spear. The girl seemed to be a rapier user she introduced herself as Blank. "Where are my manners my name is Shepard it's nice to meet you both, I'll let this one introduce himself." Gesturing towards Spidey. After the introductions had been made a red haired player was coming up behind hydra, but before Shepard was able to greet him the player pulled his blade to Hydra's neck. As soon as Shepard had seen the blade he pulled his sword out pointing in the direction of the new player. Replacing his smile with the mental cage once again his face showing no emotion. When the player took his weapon from Hydra's neck Shepard didn't lower his weapon even when the man man mentioned they were friends. "What are you doing."

((OOC- Atzo since this is day 1 our guys wouldn't have known each other so that's why my post is like it is))

"Both, she said her username would be the same as her name" Shepard started to think if she was probably on the higher floors. The wind picked up a little and threw his hair back into his face once again. "Well thanks anyway, I've looked all over this floor and haven't seen her or even heard of people that have" talking through the strands of jet black hair. "I plan on getting a couple more levels first and start searching the higher floors." As he pulled back his hair he seen Atzo moving towards a boar not to far away he explained how the fight should go "OK so your gonna get his attention and I'll attack while he's concentrated on you." Equipping his sword whilst he said this moving towards the boar making sure to stay behind Atzo in case it charges.

Shepard had turned back to face Spidey listening intently to what he was saying. "Thanks for worrying about me man"  moving closer to Spidey and placing a hand on his shoulder "but there are some things Im not comfortable talking about just yet many some day but not today." And with that Shepard withdrew his hand and stepped back to continue. " But I'm going to be honest with you Spidey" he paused to look back at the sunset "everyone has there demons even me... especially me but I've always kept them in check do to that person me and her have been through thick and thin she was the one to get me into games but I." At this he stopped fearing what he might say next he looked around for anything to change the subject that's when he took notice of a man pointing towards them he was with another player. "Hey check that out what do you think they want." 

By the time Shepard and Atzo had gotten out of the town the sun was already at its highest. The landscape was still as amazing as ever the rolling hills that cut off right before the massive expanse of trees were they would find there familiars. His mind wondered back to his childhood friend Juni  the girl that always kept him from letting out his demons 'maybe he knows her or at the very least seen her'  turning to face Atzo as they walked "have you been to any higher floors" as he said this Shepard caught a glimpse of the town as it shrank in the distance. "I've been looking for a girl named Juni, have you meet any by that name." While he was waiting for Atzo's response he turned to face there destination. He still blames himself for her imprisonment in this game he would've been fine if it had just been him, but no it was torture not knowing if she was alive.

He noticed Spidey accepted the friend request, but didn't hear what he said. He was to busy thinking about Juni and we're she might be if she was scared if she thought he was dead or even coursing him for bringing her into this death game. While he was pondering this Spidey said something that caught his attention. 

"Hey Shepherd, what's bothering you? You must be remembering some scary dude or some evil guy to make a face like that. If it's the creator, don't go around tellin' everyone. Still, lighten up. It's not the end of the world."
'That's right. It's not the end, not yet at least, he could still find her one day.' He thought about that for a few seconds. Before he could turn and thank him however, Spidey had turned his back to him. Shepherd thought that he had ruined his chance and Spidey was going to leave. He looked down at the ground. 'What should I say? I'd like to get to know him a bit more' before he as about to speak is when Spidey said. "Hey, Shepherd. Do I look weird to you, even if I'm triple jointed?" He turned to look at Spidey and sees that his head is turned faced towards his back, his legs are directly behind his back, and his back was still facing him. Stepping back a foot in shock. When he realized that Spidey must have doing some kind of trick he finally spoke up "That's one hell of a trick man." Opening his cage a little to crack a smile. "Oh and thanks for asking I was just thinking about someone." With that Shepard looked to the horizon, the sun had started to set and the sky was a clash of yellow and orange. It was amazing how much effort the creator put into SAO.

Putting his hand behind his head he chuckled a little "yeah I guess I didn't see you I must have been talking to myself I usually get a little carried away." Noticing he was being a little awkward he put his hands in his pockets, changing his body position and facial expression into a steel cage were no emotion showed. "sorry if I gave the wrong impression I didn't mean to come of as quizzical" responding to the man's lengthy speech continuing to listen "you don't seem to be like the others around here either, oh were are my manners the name's Shepard it's nice to meet you Spidey" shaking Spidey's hand with his right "friends huh... I've never been one to rely on others but what the heck it would probably be a good idea to make at least one." Using his left hand to tap through the menu interface to send a friend request to Spidey. "Even if you're just as crazy as me to be this calm."

Shepard had zoned out for a minute imagining what his life here would be like. Would he go solo like would on all the other games he had played he never releid on more than a few people at a time. Something snapped him out of his trance, a shorter player had tapped him on his shoulder and seemed to be asking him something. "Sorry bout that I didn't see you there, but to answer your question yes I was" were the hell did he come from he wasn't anywhere near him a second ago he looked briefly around, there weren't many people close by none of them would've been... 'wait a moment' his eyes darted to the bench he was standing in front of. "Were you on that bench this entire time." 

Walking around the town it was hard to believe that half an hour ago life was normal and now there was no way out of this game. Shepard had tried to log out but of course it didn't work, after the first try he gave up. Walking over to a nearby bench from were he was it seemed to be that there weren't any players around. "if I'm going to be stuck here then I'm not going to die here I am going to get out of this world and back to the real one." balling his hand into a fist in front of him.

"Getting a familiar seems like a good idea it should make fighting mobs easier." Catching the meat that Atzo threw to him Shepard listened intently to the more experienced player. "You make a valid point having backup is always good to bring no matter what you're level" his mind wondered back to the day this all started and the strange people he met. "You can't be picky about the people you work with either, not saying anything about you, you seem like a very nice person." Now walking towards the forest beside Atzo, Shepard couldn't help but notice that this guy was a little to quick to trust him. "Sounds like a plan, I was thinking about getting a dog of some kind."

Shepard was a little surprised by the man's reaction he also noted that the man didn't even move when he ran into him. "He must be a higher level than me" he thought to himself. Puting his hand on the back of his head Shepard let out fake chuckle to hid his thoughts from the man named Atzo. "Well the name's Shepard it's nice to meet you Atzo" putting his hand down into his pocket he listened to what Atzo was saying. "sure, it's the least I could do, in fact I was just on my way to the forest to grind some mobs."
