  1. (OOC: Sorry @silver crow, Vivlia happened to be on at the time, and the max amount of players in this quest is 2, once again, sorry.)

    “Athel. Where are we going?” I asked in a slightly annoyed tone, he never tells me anything, thanks Athel. Maybe it's because he is mute that he doesn’t actually say anything but, we both know sign language. At the moment, he was wearing a open tan trench coat with a light brown scarf around his neck and black fingerless gloves on his hands. Underneath the coat was chainmail armor which only covered the top half of his chest. Underneath the chain-mail you could tell he was wearing a black shirt, for his lifestyle, you’d be surprised it doesn't have any obvious stains or spills on it. He had a few small satchels on his belt, of which were nothing but cosmetic. The belt was dark brown which matched the color of the pair of pants they were holding up, the only difference between the two was one had a slightly different color tone.  His leather shoes were also black. This whole thing makes me wonder where he gets this wardrobe I don’t know about, I mean really, It seems like he has an outfit for every scenario possible. “Adventure.” He responded with in sign language. Great, I loved adventure, especially if the person you going with is silent and refuses to tell you where we are going. Eventually we arrived at an old, run-down building. It looked like it would collapse under its own weight at any moment. “Athel, what is this?” I asked. He grinned in response then made a few gestures in sign language: “First adventure.” Well, that's not technically true, we got lost in a forest once looking for materials, and spent a whole week out in the wilderness, which were full of monsters, creepy abandoned structures, and a really weird stalking silhouette. Good times. I didn’t want to ruin the “first adventure” thing so I stayed silent and walked in. Inside was a little laboratory, I didn’t think it was very safe to keep alchemy equipment inside a building that probably failed its safety tests. “Excuse me…” I said to the old man at the counter. His face had an odd relation to Santa Claus. I looked behind me to see a wide grin form on Athels face. “...I’m looking for Adventure? You sell any of that here?” That is my glorious attempt to confuse the NPC, unfortunately, it just made me look like an idiot. Thanks Athel.

    @Vivlia

  2.  It was, to, realistic. The building, other then that, was completely empty. “Wow, it's almost like home sweet home.” I muttered to myself. I was an orphan, I had no parents that I knew, the caretakers were always awful to me and most everyone else. If it wasn’t for this, I would have left the orphanage a year ago. Instead I’m here. Amazing how fate works, right? I could now tell that there was a basement as well.  I decided to get Athel to help. I went outside to see he was nowhere in sight. “Athel!” I yelled, forgetting he was mute, obviously he would be sure to yell back. Remembering this, I figured he was collecting firewood. He would be back shortly, at least that's what I assumed. I thought to myself and figured, more exploring would hurt anyone. So I went upstairs, the second floor looked like and armory, all around me there were mounted wall shields, sword displays, and even armor stands displayed in a fashion that made me think the helmets were watching me. All of which was rusted and gathering dust. “How long has this been here?” I wondered, not knowing I spoke out loud. Suddenly there was a crash from upstairs. I drew my hunting knife in alert. “Who’s there?”

  3. We made our way to the stone structure. It was three stories tall and covered in green lichen and yellow moss, the tower it looked abandoned. There was fire pit outside along with torn fabric which we assumed were from some tents, the fire was cold, It looked like it hadn’t seen flame in over a week. Athel managed to start the fire. He looked up at me, now being able to see, and signed: “We camp here?” I nodded in response. He continued to manage the fire outside the building. I went into the seemingly abandoned structure, with my renewed torch, which had given up on me and Athel earlier. The place overwhelmed me with a cold creepy feeling. There were multiple wall sconces that held burnt out torches, almost as if the place was abandoned before they decided to save some wood. The interior walls of the tower were covered in lichen and moss, there was a stone column in the middle of the stone room for support, the halls tattered with torn banners and cobwebs, the tables and shelves reeked of wood rot. I almost gagged in response.

  4.  Athel was clapping to get my attention. “What is it Athel?” I asked, closely watching his hands. Athel made symbols with his hands, sign language. It signed: “It's dark, look for shelter?” I nodded and said: “Agreed”. Oh yeah, did I mention that I understood sign language? Sorry about that, it almost slipped my mind. We continued walking for some time when Athel pointed something out. The torch, our only source of light, was dying fast. “Oh no…” I said, anxiety filling my very being. I tried to save it but it only made it die faster, it was the very definition of the reverse birthday cake. It was now completely dark. There was an eerie silence in the dark. All I could hear was Athel’s unsettlingly slow calm breathing and my own racing heartbeat. I couldn’t tell where there was, after all, it was so dark you couldn’t see your own hands. After about sixteen seconds, a noise shook me to my senses. It was Athel, he was clapping again. He stopped and a noise which sounded like a rock that was thrown came from behind me. Turning around, I saw it. In the distance, a silhouette lit my the moonlight appeared. It looked like a stone watchtower. “Finally… Some good luck.” I murmured, his whisper echoing through the quiet forest. We began walking towards the distance structure trying not to tumble over twigs and rocks, I still ended up tripping a few times. Not being able to feel pain just made the falling very uncomfortable, and weird. Very weird.

  5. It was dark, I guessed it was almost midnight, the moon’s shimmering glow bounced of of everything, despite this, it was surprisingly dark, luckily I had a torch with me. My name, is Ryder Esterman, also known as Aspect. At the time, I wore a leather chest piece with a gray shirt underneath which looked damaged and dusty, the fabric looked old and worn, which isn’t something that a typical nineteen year old would be wearing, it was coupled with a pair of blue pants with leather straps to hold a small hunting knife at my thigh, along with some shin protection. I had black hair and blue eyes. A familiar clapping sound broke my concentration. It was Athel, he was mute. We were unlikely friends. I knew Athel before being trapped here, he shows little emotion besides the occasional smile and is quiet most of the time. I considered getting him a bell. Mostly because he is as quiet as a leaf being carried in the wind. Athel wore a light brown colored scarf that matched his eyes, his hair was the color brown, which didn’t quite match his black jacket, which had a small chainmail vest underneath, a white shirt was barely visible under the vest, a pair gray pants which also had leather shin guards and a pair of black fingerless gloves, we both wore the same kind of shoes. He was around twenty-one years old and had a soft face that made him look naturally trustworthy. His in game username was Silence, if you don’t know why then you should have read more closely, we don’t like to call each other by our usernames because we were friends, we don’t tell strangers our real names ethier, just in case.

    About:
    Ryder was abandoned at birth, he lives as an orphan in a horrible place for the first seventeen years of his life, he never knew his biological parents either but intends to find them. He made friends in middle school with an individual named Athel. Athel is mute, and due to a few things, he can’t speak in game either. The only reason they were friends is because Ryder understood sign language. Then their friendship prospered, together they were quite the companions. They like to play video games despite the fact that Athel would be able to understand anything without subtitles, when SAO came out, they both bought a copy and were excited to play together. But little did they know it was a trap, they were then stuck in the game. Ryder was stuck with the name “Aspect” and Athel was stuck with, mainly because he was mute in real life, the name “Silence”. Ryder went into the game at seventeen, he is now nineteen. Athel went into the game at nineteen, he is now twenty-one. They plan to escape together, alive. At one point Ryder ran away from the orphanage and became homeless for a little over three months, the orphanage took little effort to find him. He hated that place, to him, SAO is an improvement. He was mistreated in the orphanage by the caretaker who seemed to enjoy watching the kids suffer. No one had adopted Ryder, and he doubts anyone ever will He wouldn’t be where he is now, not in game, I mean in character if it wasn’t for his lifetime friend Athel. He tends to always feel threatened and endangered because of his troubles in the real world as well. He obtained insomnia as a child and has it to this day, somehow able to do thing day to day with little sleep and motivation other then to help his friends, more specifically his best friend. What he doesn't know is that the orphanage closed down shorty after SAO released. He will have no where to turn.

    Virtues & Flaws:
        Virtues:
    Social - Ryder is a very talkative person. He likes to get to know people and try new experiences, that is if he is courageous enough to do it. I mean, who would even try bungee jumping? He likes to find out who people are and why they do what they do. He is also funny from time to time, he is good with making jokes to crack the ice.
    Smart - Ryder is smart, not that he was a great student or something like that, he is a quick learner. Thought he only learns new things if absolutely necessary or if he is interested in the topic, subject, or physical object. He never forgets, he almost wishes he could, but the more you think about a memory, good or bad, the more intense it becomes. He can be particularly hand in this situation.
    Friendly -  He is friendly, combine that with social and you have a recipe for a very nice person. He like to help or at least say he will. He likes his sleep, don’t cut into his sleep time. He will help you out on the spot if it is a small deed or if he cares for you. Most likely on though.
        Flaws:
    Lazy - He is lazy, he is a little stubborn about it too. He wants to help but can’t seem to work up the nerve to do it. He has a bad habit of making himself false promises or flat out lying to himself. He wants to stop this, he wants to help, but he doesn’t know how to get himself to do it, he needs guidance. He tends to only do things if they interest him. Which reminds me of the next flaw.

    Aimless - Ryder is aimless as ever, he has no motivation, No sense of direction or purpose, no guidance to tell him right from wrong.That was before the game, so now, it has gotten so much worse. He wanders around Aincrad, doing things to satisfy his own boredom and interests. He could easily just fade away as another casualty of the Aincrad Arc. Like a unnamed soldier who died in combat, never to be heard from again.

    Insomniac - Despite the fact one of his favorite things to do is to sleep. He has trouble doing it, and he does admit it as well. Ever since he could remember he had been a troubled sleeper. He tosses and turns all night to no avail to wake up restless in less than twenty minutes after midnight. It tends to be harder for him to sleep when he is feeling unsafe. Needless to say being trapped in a game were over two thousand people died within a month, he barely slept. Even then, he thought he was in danger in the real world, due to the caretaker.
