Miaki

Miaki walked into the newly established shop of Yunah. She chose an interesting floor in his opinion but to each their own. Taking a look at the name he smiled a little at the name. 'How cute.' He thought to himself when opening up the door. Looking around he was rather impressed with the set up Yunah had going in her shop. He glanced at some of the stuff on display and noticed she had alot of empty weapons racks. He was here to fix that. Seeing a small bell on the counter Miaki tapped it and saw the green haired girl appear. "Hello Yunah, I like the set up you've got going here. I thought I'd stop by and drop off some materials for you." He opened his inventory with his two fingers and brought up a supply of materials he had. "Figured you could really use these items." The trade he sent listed the items he gave to her.

Miaki stared at the rock after knocking on it with his scabbard as if waiting for it to do something. He looked around and shrugged seeing nothing happen yet. "Whelp, that didn't work." He rounded around the boulder and threw his hands up as if saying, "I'm out of ideas here guys." He tied his scabbard back underneath his cloak and looked over at Yunah and Nikki still on top of Titan. Seeing Yunah pressed against Nikki he caught a glimpse of the armor she wore under her own winter gear. An idea came to his mind. "Uhhh Yunah, yer still using that <> right?" Knowing she still was using it Miaki walked over to them and opened his GUI.

Making a couple changes he removed his <> from his gear. Opening his cloak a little he saw a shimmer of the armor plate disappear. After visually confirming the armor being removed he sent the item to Yunah via the trade function. "I want you to use that from now on until you find yerself something better okay?" He told her. "It'd make me feel better knowing yer that much safer."

Miaki walked around the large stone skull inspecting it through the cold winds. It was quite impressive in shape and size. If he didn't know that it was part of their quest he would've thought it was just some marker that was made by the developers. He heard Nikki ask from the other side of the boulder what happens next and crossed his arms trying to keep the heat in. "I'm not sure." He yelled into the cold. "Maybe there is some way to trigger the next bit..." He grabbed the scabbard for his katana and banged it against the boulder to see if that would do anything.

Miaki walked beside the furry Elyth and examined what she was looking at. It was small grey, stone notch. He wouldn't have spotted it he it wasn't for Elyth, maybe she had better vision in her furry form. "Excellent find Elyth." He said with a nod as he pressed it. Nothing happened. Nothing at all. He looked behind him at Hikari and shrugged. "Maybe it's broken." He pressed it again this time with more firmness still with no result. "Come on!" He punched the notch with a palm thrust and the tunnel began to rumble around them. The sound of shifting stone could be heard all around them. Miaki braced himself as to not lose his balance at all everything began to shake more violently.

The walls parted open and revealed a large room filled with pristine lights. Walkways and platforms edged around the room and lead to other passageways. The walkways at the lowest point seemed to be floating because there was water everywhere for a person to dive into or swim to another point in the room. They began to walk through until Miaki noticed that another chest appeared to have been concealed by one of the wall panels. He knelt down and opened it finding loads of materials.

Miaki crossed his arms and inwardly gave himself a pat on the back for hitting it right on the mark with his guessing about the gypsy. She spoke with Clarence using almost the same script that Miaki heard. After giving him a small bag of food she sat back down and didn't seem to notice them standing there. "And step one is done. Now onto the other dozen tasks that have to be done before this quest is over." He pointed with his thumb at the door. We'd best get started."

Miaki accepted the item sent to him and examined it sitting in his inventory. He made a small inward laugh looking at the name of the potion. Good to know he'll have something to use when the time came for the next boss raid. "Thanks man. This'll do nicely." He said to him. The tavern was now in sight. Walking closer, Miaki could see some players sitting close to the small round windows. "I'd reckon this is where we will find our gypsy." He said holding the door open for Clarence to go through.

After Nikki helped him to his feet he couldn't help but feel a small stab at his pride from taking such a hard hit. But the feel of Nikki's lips on his cheek made him forget about it all. He smiled instead and brushed himself off. "I didn't get a good look at who gave the final hit but..." He looked in the direction of where the mini-boss came from and saw a large door. "I've found our door! Come on!" Miaki rushed towards the door and examined the tall stone entrance. It lacked a door handle and only had a bull's head as a center piece. "Ummm Nikki, how do you suppose we open this thing?" He asked rather confused. It seemed like something was missing from the bull but he couldn't quite place his finger on it.

Miaki shrugged his shoulders as Elyth walked away. "Maybe something will come up." Miaki was optimistic about things. After all, Sword Art Online was created as a fair game. There was always a solution for something. Miaki picked up the lantern and began to follow the fluffy Elyth through the cavern. The room echoed their steps and the dripping sound of water droplets falling from the ceiling. Holding his lantern above his head they could see the path breaking right a little.

Pretty Rave Girl (2010) - S3RL

Nikki gave me the S3RL bug and I'm terribly sick with it. My head is filled with her voice and this song.

Everyone was ripping the <> a new one as its health dropped like a sack of potatoes. It was now at a quarter of it's health and nearly defeated. Miaki was looping around to the front end of the beast and didn't notice it's subtle movements breaking free of the paralysis. The sudden shockwave through Miaki off balance in front of the beast, bringing him to a halt right underneath it's head. He could feel the hot breath of the monster breathing on him and tried to get up but was scooped up and bashed with it's horns injuring him more.

The beast from hell came from out of no where. This may have been that odd feeling Miaki had earlier. Out of habit he checked NIkki's health bar listed under his own with everyone else in the party. She took no damage and was holding strong. He was honestly shocked that she was knocked into the wall because of her armor's ability but figured the reason she was moved was because she wasn't in a combat stance at the time. Regardless he was attacking with full force. Nikki pushed herself away and issued orders to him. Although the two were not in the same guild and technically he outranked Nikki, the two were becoming a dynamic duo giving commands to one another based on how the battle played out. "On it!" Miaki shouted as he ran around right and drew his blade which gave off a bright silver flash.

Battle result: Hit! 6 DMG!

His katana began to glow a bright green as he charged a simple sword skill up for attacking. Hearing a small chime from the skill becoming ready he rushed forward and attacked the large beast with the skill <>.

Minotaur: 25/40

He watched the crystal fail which surprised him greatly. Nothing was more powerful than a crystallized version of a potion. It was considered an instant effect. But the failure of the cure told him that Elyth's change wasn't a negative status to her. "That's... the most effective type of cure... I don't know what would do the trick now." Looking down at the chest sitting in front of him he lifted it open.

Opening the chest he saw three materials inside.

He looked at Elyth and Hikari. "Not my best find but it's something. Maybe we'll find more later."

Time went on and the wind grew stronger. Nikki didn't seem to be wavered by it at all though. She was on top of titan and trudging right through the bone chilling winds. Yunah clinging to her intensively. Miaki groaned to Saix as the men pushed through the knee deep snow. "How much further do you think it is til we get there?" He was opening and closing his hands to keep the blood flowing through the small appendages. Nikki was leading them through some kind of pass. Everything was beginning to look the same since visibility was only a couple meters out. They could be going around in circles and he wouldn't have even known.

"Man, either Im really good or yer really bad." Miaki teased the boss not expecting much of a response. It was clear to him that this one wasn't much of a talker, atleast not when it was getting served by a skilled fighter. It was times like this when Miaki wished he had a potion to speed things up but he didn't think he had any and being on a roll at the moment he didn't see a need to waste one on this fight.

Battle result: Hit! 6 DMG

The <> was backing up slowly, perhaps it had a healing state that Miaki didn't think about. Not wanting to give it a chance he dashed forward and released the sword skill <>. It was a simple attack and one Miaki had mastered. Slashing the boss he watched the HP bar teeter over halfway.

Nearly halfway there and not a single scratch was on him from the boss he was facing. He wasn't a tank like Nikki, not even remotely close. But it would seem that his speed was being a strong asset for him. How long this would hold up was anyone's guess but it was almost safe to say this battle was in the bag.

It was bound to happen. You couldn't hit every single time but deep down Miaki hoped this wasnt the first one many missed swings.

The speed at which Miaki was moving around in only a small area he fixed himself in was incredible. Instead of running around the room rushing the treant he stayed within a small area and simply danced around his enemy using short, quick movements to out do his adversary. So far the plan was working as he hadn't been it yet. But he wasn't sure how long his luck would hold out in this case.

The treant roared and swiftly rushed him. Holding his ground Miaki waited til the last possible second and twirled out of the way slashing at the boss during the motion. He saw a larger chunk of health leave it's health bar and heard the lovely sound of a critical blow dealt.

Miaki nodded when he heard Charlotte speak of being left behind. He could relate to that quite well. "I myself always felt behind for a good while. Always being the one who was slowing the rest down. Actually, it wasn't until I had a run in with the assault team on floor seven that I started getting a chance it seemed. This could be your moment like it was for me." He retold some of his story about finding himself in a small company of players who were part of the assault team and how he was wrapped into their group and helped them in defeating the seventh floor boss. From there everything seemed to happen one thing after another. The group became a small guild, grew in numbers, and through a rough even that nearly tore the group apart, Miaki found himself becoming the leader and reforming the group that was now the <> as it was seen now. "Its funny how all of that seemed to have started with my meeting the assault team. I honestly think I'd still be slacking behind had it not been for that. You can ask Nikki." He said pointing a thumb towards the bluenette tank he had fallen hopelessly for. "She met me first on floor one and the last time we met was after I helped clear the seventh floor. You don't have to be left behind anymore." This last bit he said looking at Charlotte walking beside him. "I found that sometimes it just takes the right group to help you move forward. You'd be welcomed with my brigade. Or I could get you and Nikki talking about her and the <>."

Pushing through the labyrinth for a while the group was doing rather well. Every encounter was handled expertly with Nikki tanking and drawing all the attention of the mobs in order for everyone to attack them from the sides. Winding through the paths inside the dungeon they kept going up. Always climbing up in this world it seemed. To reach the next level, to reach the next floor, up, up, up the stairs. At some point Miaki felt like something was watching him but guessed it was his imagination since there was nothing around and they weren't being attacked. He shifted over to Charlotte and walked beside her. "So, mind sharing some of yer story? This your first time doing something like this? Scouting or being on the front lines I mean." He asked the girl.

Miaki heard the pitter-patter of foot steps getting louder and louder. The sound of something getting closer to them. Miaki looked left and right with some confusion then was suddenly tackled to the ground by the green haired Yunah. It was a delightful surprise to see her joining them. "Yunah!" He cried out her name with a laugh. "So great of you to join us." He said hugging her. Her performance was fantastic in the last boss fight and knew her joining would be a great asset to them not to mention he and Nikki always enjoyed her company.
