Pffttt, like I'd get rid of cookies willingly!

And here after I've voted for you.
Aww, well thanks for the vote of confidence! I'll call it more clout power >D
-
Yeah, just whatever the individual wants to do with it in relation to their character. The profile part would be required, everything else would be optional.
-
A backup if ^ that's too complicated, we could make a 'template' of something or other. Could be like a mini-profile with name/age/whatevs and some SAO bg or could just be blank so users know that's the size they have to fit things to or something.

A list of skills was posted in another thread:
Technically there aren't any classes - users can work on leveling whatever skills they want. You can choose to have a focus in skills that operate like a "class" but really you can mix 'n match to whatever. I believe there is a limit on how many skills you can buff up, or spread points, or however that works.

Not a journal exactly since we have solo rps t hat can be done in place of "diary" entries, just a spot for the user to do whatever they want with. The first post would be the required character profile, and after that it's up to them. I wanted to do a summary of events that happen to my character and stuff too.
But maybe it doesn't matter, and users can choose either one per chara or multiple charas in one thread if they plan on only using it to post the profile and nothing else.

I think it should be one topic per character because a lot of info can potentially go in there
Like I plan on keeping a post with notes on who I've met and what my character thought of them. Ori don't know :/

I like this idea of no gm rps at all. But if they were to use npcs to mess around you'd need some way to differentiate or show they're official? So the player would still have gm title ooc?

I'm probably better as a support type. My time might get stretched for a couple months if I get a full time job I applied for because I'm still taking full time classes at the same time, though next semester I can switch back to part time classes so it'll be better then. No idea when I'll find out for sure; I put in the application yesterday so it'll be a week before I know if I get to the interview or not, so having someone else as the official lead is probably better for the community.

Sign up thread sounds do-able. We could have regular rpers who have proven themselves skilled to volunteer as mentors, and when someone new comes in, they have to do their first rp together so ensure that they know what's going on before they can rp with anyone else. During that rp, the mentor would give a short critique on each post and how they might improve. Or if the new person is already skilled, then they have someone to rp with to start out anyways without the critiques.
-
I was just trying to figure out a compromise, I'd prefer no restrictions at all still. If someone's posts are too unproductive we can just send them a PM or ask that they partner up with a mentor or something.

Rather than a word count, why don't we encourage something like, post at least two character actions per post, such as the character doing something, observing something, or saying something that gives the other person something to respond to?
-
Well I know Nams and I talked about it, but I didn't know if it was officially accepted by everyone or not. I assumed it was a go 'cause of the lack of anyone complaining in this thread XD And now that we've gotten all this work behind it, TOO LATE NOW 8D
-
I'd actually like to avoid the "150 word and 10 complete sentences."
Since we're going by completed rps rather than individual posts, forcing post requirements is unnecessary. I really dislike limiters like this : x Quantity doesn't always mean quality, and rpers are probably aiming for a good story rather than counting out their words.

I could totally work with you on how to do cel styles! I think it'd be a fun experience 8D I did another hairstyle, but I'm at work now so don't have the files with me XD But if you'd be up for it or have the time/interest, we could try swapping psd files at each step and work through it?
-
I actually kinda liked the / look, but either way is fine I'm sure. I think we should have it required rather than optional though, just to keep things consistent. It'll be easy to get into the habit for everyone.
And you're talking to a librarian-in-training, I'm all for organization 8D

I'm good with F being the indicator. Maybe a dash?

Or does space look better?

I don't care on npcs either way so count me neutral. But your mention on beast tamer made me think that that'd be another good boss reward, like one person may get a "you have gained knowledge on taming a beast" and then get a pm for what quest they have to rp out.

The reason I want to leave the word floor out is because we all know there are floors and it takes up title space since thread titles have limited characters.
[PP1] Learning the moves, falling face first.
This is how I pictured it ^

(at work, short post)
The expressions are on separate layers/folders (eyes/eyebrows/mouths each in own spot), so don't worry about that. I've done spriting before 8D

Looks lovely! Only thing I'm concerned about is the shading style. You used a sort of mix between cel and soft, and I'm wondering if we should stick strictly to cel style so it's more consistent when mix 'n matching between hairs and is closer to sao style? It looks great artistically, just wondering if we should match up the type of art styles a bit more.

Thought I'd do a preliminary draw-up test thingy.

Traced over some headshots so it has the SAO style (this one has Kirito's head shape and Asuna's face XD). Got lines/skin on different layers and whatnot.
Thoughts?

Bust-up means designing outfits to some degree though, which means more time/commitment/finding skilled artists that'll stick around long term. Headshot-only like what your avatar currently is with a shoulder or neck-up seems like it'd be easiest. And in peoples' individual journals, they can post any art that they commission or build with other doll maker things for reference?
-
I had actually mentioned just a head-shot as that'd be easiest to keep up, just do hair and expression, but was told that part of the SAO appeal was the outfits. But for the purposes of avatars, think that'd be the quickest route to maintain SAO style while giving some customization. I've done something kinda like that before.
