Valentine felt his eyebrows scrunch up as he thought. “It depends. A bunch of information can be found on various pets. As anyone who gets one makes a post about it. I think it comes down to the type of animal specifically. If I recall correctly this floor has a type of rare ice otter. Finding it on floor one or another place filled with water would not be odd. The type would make each familiar different no matter the actual species.” As they got further into the cold Val was able to piece together the place they were going to.

“You can take the point on this one. As long as I am here you will not die and I will dash out strikes while I can.” This was the first time Val would be fighting the Frost beast. He just had enough knowledge of his home floor to know how the quest works.
 

“It is all good. I can tell you both my names, it makes no difference to me. My real name is Dylan.. It has been so long I almost forgot my own name. My gamer name and the one I used the most now is Valentine. Like the American holiday.” Valentine scratched his head. “Well it is an international holiday but a lot of places celebrate it differently.”

As if he realized he was going off on a tangent, Val brought his mind back to the present. “Here this is an item that will help.” Val opened his HUD and placed the Linkshell in the trade menu. “I will want it back after but the marginal help should be useful.”

“Being a tank is a noble profession. Not many have what it takes to be a good one. I hope you have the willpower. Support like me works best when supporting the brave and the strong. Besides, you may be weak now but your growth is limitless.”
 

Val pulled the boats up to the dock and let the old man off. “I am actually going to stay and look around for a bit. If I can stock up on some more materials for my shop that would be great. You can head back with the old guy. I will send you a message later if you finish before I do.” Valentine spoke to Hael as he set off.

He believed that the lake had decent things to find. The monster already being dead made it somewhat safe. He believed his spear would be able to handle it if anything else. He could only blame himself if he managed to die on the first floor of all places. He stopped to look at a shiny stone that caught his eye. Since it was not a recording crystal he placed it back down. Moving further out to look for the loot.

Valentine was enjoying the humid lushness of floor six. It felt warm enough that even his Familiar Sherry was not huddled away into her room. The little white cobra was on top of his head flicking her tongue at the passing surroundings. He passed by a pretty big root and his attention caught on an underdressed player. He saw the familiar quest giving old lady and was able to put two and two together.

“Hey man. If you are doing the familiar quest I hope you do not mind if I tag along. This floor could be pretty dangerous. You also look a tad bit under equipped to be here. I am a support healer. I can tag along and make sure you don’t die. If you want to talk about anything I am here as well. I have been working on my mental support abilities as well.” Valentine made sure that he was open and approachable. He was unaware of the man's mental state. He mentally started going through all the pamphlets on suicide prevention.
 

Valentine gave Aquan a friendly smile. “I am not in a rush. I have gotten a bit stronger so I can be more self confident. My fighting skills may suck but I am an excellent healer.” Valentine stretched his shoulders and cracked his neck. He considered himself alway ready for battle as a front liner in training.

“Oh….Um. 31...” Valentine said his level with a relatively low volume. It was not like he could hide it from Aquan. As soon as they partied up together the information would become available to him. He felt bad for a moment before thinking it through and adding. “I am only at a higher level than you because I have been going through some gruesome training. You have been busy polishing your skills. At least now a quest here will be fun. Since I live on this floor my information network is the tightest. All the available quests on the floor that I am aware of are five. One is a chain I believe we started but need to continue, two would be impossible for us to do alone. Leaving us with 2 other quests. If my guess is correct. Either of them I am fine with doing.”
 

Welcome to the site! I am sure you will be able to find something to do here. The place can really feel like an open world game if you just put your imagination into it. The dice can be annoying but sometimes it can add some excitement. As you never truly know how things are going to go for you.

Valentine was wrapping it up in the recording studio. He put the freshly made music crystals in his bag. “Sherry should I start making dinner for Grimm or practice my skills.” The innocent looking cobra just flickered her tongue at him. She was content with being indoors. Valentine decided to just cook when he got a mail notification in his HUD.

He perused the mail before making a faint smile. “I have not hung out with Aquan in a bit. I may as well help him as I have the time to. It is not fair that Grimm gets to have all the fun. Right Sherry.” Val told his little snake before the duo set off. It did not take them long since he quest was on the same floor and Val was familiar with the area.

“Hey Aquan! I made it. I am happy to accompany you on a quest! Almost no one knows this floor as well as I do.”

If you check the post I know I made 4 but the uncommon is not worth getting checked.

Valentine was focused on searching for the river that he did not comprehend what he was asked for a moment. “Sorry, babe I was pretty focused. The lich is said to be an annoying monster like all the other monsters on the quest so far. It is said to be able to take the life of the lackeys to make it stronger. The sucky part is the lackeys spawn very quickly which means if they are not destroyed fast enough. The lich will get stronger if the battle drags on. Which means you would have to kill it as quickly as possible when the chance arises, while still watching the damage output overall. Speaking of.” The thought crossed his mind when he mentioned damage. He believed the two of them would have more breathing room if Grimm could hit as hard as possible. “Put this on your weapons as it will boost your damage. If it is not enough and we start to go under run first. You will be in more danger and I can bring up the rear.”

As they walked Val never stopped looking till he noticed an irregular rock. Upon closer inspection he realized it was their destination. As a stairway going down can be seen in the rock formation if one glanced closely. "Stay behind me for now. The river should be down this stairs, with the lich not far behind. When you have the potion on we can start the battle."

Valentine was a professional. He was able to pull himself together and gave Haine a smile. It was all he could do before a giant man meat wall tried to pummel him. The game settings stopped the beating. Not that he would have been nervous, Weed was under leveled by a lot of standards.

After allowing Weed to vent for a moment he sat down as well, pretending like the previous moment did not happen. “Yes. I ate a bit before leaving the house so I am decently filled. Weed will most likely prefer a blt with guacamole as an extra.” Val remembered that Weed had a similar taste to his brother Sage. He would not expect a thank you from the man. No one told Val to blame himself for what happened. If Weed was capable of beating him to a pulp he would have still accepted it. 

“I am all ready to start this quest. The three of us should be able to knock it out of the park.”

“Put her down!” Valentine was asking the chicken headed beast as he relaxed at home. His love stepped out for a moment so Valentine was checking out requests. A simple one that he never got around to doing showed up. He decided to accept it as it was a relatively simple quest. He made his way down to the first floor to the designated meeting area.

As he walked in the tavern he spotted the blue haired guild member. “Hi hi! Glad to meet you. My name is Valentine friends call me Val and…..” Valentine stopped mid sentence as he spotted the other person sitting with her. A current of tension could be felt as Valentine took his seat. Trying not to meet the other man's eyes. A deep wave of guilt and sadness crashing into his body. He thought he put that kind of pain behind him. Seeing the familiar silver horns meant that the face similar to one that he was intimate with was underneath it. The chances of a second person wearing those horns with that build was slim to none. “Long time no see. Weed.”
 

Valentine was feeling refreshed. They finished eating and his new equipment came in before they started to hunt down the next monster. He was feeling strong enough to take down a legion of dragons at the moment. He even managed to finish allocating the skill points he had built up. Making him feel like a new person as they got started on their new hunt. “Alright. Ready to go? The monster we are looking for is called The Leech Lich. We have to find the stygian river. It is a shifting location on the map so it is hard to pin. We only have a general vicinity to find it in.” 

This time Val was taking the lead as they looked about. He was not sure what he was looking for exactly. The data only revealed that they would know it when they see it. All they could do at the moment was look until they found it.
 

“Meh. It was alright.” Val clapped ChaseR shoulder as if he was an old friend. “My ability is meh at best for now. Wait till later my skills are gonna shock you all.” He stretched out his back as if he did a hard day labor. His familiar cobra Scheherazade snuggled up to his cheek, her little tongue flickering in excitement. “Still we would have all perished if not for you being here ChaseR. Well we would have been smart enough not to take the quest but I digress.”

Valentine walked up to Grimm and grabbed his hand. “Looks like we will be heading out first. The two of you take care and see you later. Next time we all may as well go out for a drink.” His self confidence was through the roof at the joy of a successful hunt. One could even say he was feeling more self confident as he walked off in his strut.

Valentine was feeling more secure after he refused to think about the problem like a rational adult. As long as he did not acknowledge how he was feeling at times he knew he could get away with it. “I may as well carry you to our next location. It would be great work for me to get some muscle training in. Not that I need it as you say. Since I am already perfect and you love me so much. Your words not mine.” He was making a joke as he lifted his man into his arms. He should have asked the location of the Yorkshire pudding place. As long as he believed he could calculate the general direction he knew Grimm would tell him the actual location if he was hot. He started to hum a song as he walked. Desperate to eat and get started on the next part of their quest chain.

It was times like this that Valentine felt the luckiest he has ever been in a long time. Grimm was just too sweet at times. It made him wish that times like this could last forever. The sweet taste that kept joy in his heart and smiles on his lips. If Valentine was one to believe in reincarnation and the like he would wonder. Nooo Do not follow that train of thought. Valentine stopped the thought process he had. He knew Sage was dead and gone. It was just the uncanny resemblance and similar personality traits at times could not help but make him compare the two people.

He wanted to focus on the now so he brought himself back to the conversation as they walked. "I've had it before. It is not the worst thing to have. At least the game prevents food poisonings. It becomes less of an issue to eat stuff when you don't have to worry about stuff like that."

Valentine was trying to do something he called speed fishing. He would dunk the line into the water as fast as possible and reel it up as if it was a fish trying to run. That way he could spend time walking with Aquan as well as fishing up goodies. It was unfortunate that he was not lucky in the last reel. He managed to gain some more stuff in the way of materials but did not fish up another treasure chest.

"I do not mind just chatting. I do have to head out for some time. We can hang out again some other time. Not that I am trying to get rid of you. It is unwise for me to keep Grimm waiting. Not that he would mind. Unless I am taking up some too much of your time." Valentine packed his stuff but did not depart at the moment. He was waiting to see if Aquan actually wanted to go. That way he would not feel like the rude one.

"This is a decent work out for party play. Only thing that could make this better if I had a energy wide replenishing skill. As that runs out faster then all your health bars." The view on the situation was well as far as Val could tell. Chase was going a good job as the main offensive and tank. Having one person to focus on healing allowed him to use more of his other skills.

He spoke to soon as Chase took some more damage. He focused on ChaseR and a soft white healing glow enveloped him with Scheherazade help. He watched as ChaseR health bar went back up. It was a shame that his skill was not capable of healing him up more. The amount he did already took a fair amount of his energy. "Almost there. All we have to do is hold on a bit longer. I think I could keep us from dying a bit longer."

"Sage" It was the only word Val wanted to give in reply. He was feeling a tad bit uncomfortable. He was baring himself already to a man that was only in the guild with him. The same man that was standing opposite to ChaseR. It was giving Valentine a conflicted feeling as he considered Freyd not to be bad. He was not as open and cool as ChaseR, but Freyd was cool in his own way that is hard to describe.

Manners came first before a lot of thing. It would be rude of him to just leave so he felt like he should give Freyd a mini explanation about himself before departing. "Money was never an important resource to me. My father is the CEO of a multi-billion dollar corporation." Valentine always lowered it down to being billions from the trillions that it was. He had to remain humble. He rubbed his neck before opening his HUD and pretending to read it. "I actually have to leave for a bit. We can meet up later and hang out. Feel free to even call me for a quest." Valentine prepared to depart. Giving Freyd a moment to speak. After it was all said and done he would turn in his quest and head home.

Valentine gave a nod of acknowledgement before responding to the question. "Nobility is a very subjective thing at times. Honestly, if it was not for the fact I already lost a man I loved I would not mind staying in SAO. I just want to get out to visit his grave. I at least owe him that much. Even that desire fades as time passes. Visiting the memorial on the first floor feels just like being at a gravesite. In the real world loosing people is just as easy. Only difference overall is the fact that I do not have to pretend to be happy. As my father believes being very rich should be enough to never want."

Shaking his head Valentine abruptly stopped speaking. He was starting to ramble and give backstory. Trusting a person always seem like a good idea. If it was not for Sage's death Valentine would be a lot more open with everyone. Being too trusting was a lesson paid in blood.
