  1. Valentine looked over the information received about the next bosses. "We should be able to get through the next few without struggle. If we come upon any that give us pause. Then we can take a break after we beat it. You are a lot stronger than me so really we just have to make sure I do not drag you down. This is not me downing myself just a fact."

Valentine wanted to pick up his strong warrior of a lover but held himself back. "You feel much better in my arms. Too bad I can't run and you just punch monsters to death. Call it a piggyback of death. So, what are you in the mood to snack on? Do not say you do not know. As I asked you first." Valentine was pre-emptively trying to strike down the where to eat argument before it happened. He trusted Grimm's taste buds usually. Letting his mate choose can only lead to a interesting time.

  2. Valentine was using a bit more of his healing abilities when the last Lion fell. Val was certain that Freyd could have handled it alone. When Freyd asked Valentine about his wants, he temporarily froze, as if he was a deer looking at headlights. This question was asked in many ways from his time in the real world till now. The surprise came from the fact that the one to ask him the question was Freyd. He was unused to being checked on by the higher ups.

"It depends on how you are phrasing the question. If you are referring to what I want out of life  the answer is to be happy. If you are asking what do I want out of my playstyle then it is to be able to keep the people I care about alive. I guess that will still go back down to happiness. As dying teammates could be pretty sad. Why do you play?"

  3. "To be honest I wonder myself at times. I just feel like fishing would be able to make decent money. People look down on looting mechanics as they can be niche. The difference is that they have major value as well. While I can do DPS I will not be doing a lot of it. My main outputs will be from my healing. My fishing will just be a past time when I actually have the time for it." Valentine felt a nibble and reeled in the line. The catch only registered as ingredients that he placed in his inventory.

"Sure, we can move over to that pond as well. Who knows if my luck will be in a better place at the time. As I was saying, who knows what kind of build I fully want. The only thing I want in the long run is to be able to keep the people I care about alive. That includes you as well kiddo." Valentine went to give Aquan a pat on the head. It was nice to have someone he could consider a little brother.

  4. "Okay, I can go back to acting as a battery. My findings on my field medic skill should be 92% accurate overall. If you need any other type of help let me know." Valentine was offering to be polite. As Freyd took down the lionesses Valentine knew they were in the clear. Unless the boss had a berserk mode that could wipe out Freyd.  "Good job Captain. Show that Lion whose boss." Valentine was assuming this was the proper way to cheer and show support.

As his energy stayed at a decent level he called upon sherry, and he provided Freyd with more energy support. Valentine almost wish he had learned that cure skill. It would have been useful when it came to fighting these lions as the bleed damage being applied to Freyd was overall doing more harm then the attack from the Lion itself. It drove home the point of watching for hidden dangers.

  5. The ethereal state ended and Valentine felt himself brimming with energy. It was as if he could run a mile. Not that it was needed. "This one may not be of much use but I am casting it so I can run some calculations." Valentine used mist formed Sherry to use the first aid skill. The soft white from the skill surrounded Freyd in a saintly glow. He probably did not need the heal as his health shot up almost to full. Showing that the lions were not straining him at all.

Valentine noted the health Freyd had overall and the amount healed. Running the mental calculations he estimated about 11%-13% of Freyd health was healed. The number was proportionally the same as the amount healed when the skill was used on Grimm. His energy skills all seemed to work on a fixed amount. While the first aid skills worked on a percentage that could be influenced. Knowing when to apply the percentages could allow him to save energy and regulate the healing to a team.

  6. "I hope you do not mind if I move right about here for a second."  Valentine heard the sound of the gate behind him and instinctively knew to move. A sub par player would not live long in SAO if they could not learn to listen to their reflexes. At Valentines level when he sensed danger he reacts first. It was why he moved away from the gate as it was opening. Spilling out a lion and its harem to attack the duo.

"My energy reserves is at a decent level to use the meditation skill I am going for it. After I come out of it I will get back to being useful."  Valentine felt the world take on a weird quality with the activation of the skill. It was like his vision became a watercolor as he regained his energy. Freyd was under attack but Valentine was not worried about it. If the man believed he was decent enough to match ChaseR in combat it meant is fighting ability was not shabby.

  7. Valentine started clapping as the bear went down. "You did amazingly, Albi. Your strength has improved by leaps and bounds. If the current number calculations are to be believed. We should be able to take on the next couple of field bosses with relative easy. I should start training a lot more so I can at least pull my weight more. I cannot start being your weakness in battle."

Valentine held out his arms towards his beloved. "Want to come closer to I can examine you and give you a kiss?" Valentine had an evil glint in his eyes as he asked. "I promise to behave for now. We should probably go out for snacks. We can even use it to stock up for some future quests." Valentine was speaking but already planning for the future as well. He was sending messages out to some lesser members in the guild. The last boss of the quest chain was a blur to him. Being in the dark was never his style. He wanted to prepare both of them for all possibilities.

  8. Valentine put the lure back in the water before his mind comprehended what Aquan asked. "Give me a moment. Let me bring in the line so we can move. Nothing is biting in the current area like you said. Maybe if we move I can gain something else or level up this skill." After Valentine was ready he started to walk to a new area.

"I feel like I had a major mind screw. I think besides getting materials at the moment. I want to practice my sword arts. My healing skills are up to par but in the damage department I am really lacking. What about you? What are your current plans besides looting the floor? You mad man you." Valentine gave a wide smile as he spoke. "If you see an area you like when can head over. As long as we are near a body of water for me to use."

  9. "I can conserve me energy but setting up in advance can only put us at an advantage long term. I can use the mediation skill to give me a set energy recovery. It is only useful when I waste a certain amount of energy as I can never go above full." Valentine made a flourish with his hand as he activated another skill. The light eerie green mist entered Freyd as his energy levels went back up a bit. "As long as the lions are not targeting me and you self heal. The least I can do is provide you with some energy as compensation."

Valentine was actually feeling a bit relaxed at the moment. Freyd could probably handle all of the lions with ease. Valentine considered himself a lot of things. A leech was never one as he always put in work. His help may not have made a big difference at the moment, as his type of support only made itself known in protracted battles. "We can see if my support lasts the entire battle. I can take it as a training chance."

  10. Valentine was observing the situation with rapt attention. A battle like this was decent for practice. He was judging who needed what based on how much energy and health they had. As ChaseR kept it busy none of them lost health. It was making it easier for Valentine to focus on becoming a human battery. As Valentine watched Grimm fight he noticed his energy dropped the most. Aquan would be pointless to keep up as his energy costs were not as high. The hyperactive on ChaseR made his energy expenditure okay from the looks of it.

"This next one is on you babe." Valentine activate energize working together with his familiar. An eerie green mist started to envelop Grimm. His energy level rising a bit. "As long as no one actually gets hurt we can keep this fight up for some time. Not much longer than usual but enough for it to make a massive difference in prolonged battle."

  11. "You do not have to be a fighter or such to be frontline. One thing that took me to fight my actual inner demons to learn. There is more than one way to play this game. You can be considered frontline in terms of research and development." Valentine threw the fishing line back into the water. "If you look at me now. In terms of combat ability I outright suck. I have healing skills but cannot heal myself. If I had to fight alone chances of me loosing are really high."

Valentine made a quick yanking motion as his line was pulled on. A crystal clear fish jumped out the water. It had a light luminescence to it. The system recognized it as a material so Val packed it away. "This is a different skill that one I am used to. Who knows. If you fished you luck may be a lot higher than mine. Even know I doubt I can be close to how easily you are harvesting the materials."

  12. Valentine was chewing on a smores marshmallow he kept in his mouth the entire time. He normally would not have an issue with swallowing white stuff. Marshmallows were the exception as he almost choked to death on one as a kid. It was the only reason he had a deep fear and respect for them.

Listening to Freyd was only considered slightly tedious. What the man was telling him was informative and worked for his benefit. Valentine just had a modicum of worry as he could not get a read on Freyd. The man came off as very enigmatic as if he was usually the smartest person in the room.

As the man just rushed into the battle Valentine had a slight change of heart. It seemed like a mental patient. "Sherry Hyperactive."  Valentine started using his own battle style. Using his familiar in mist mode he could activate his support skills while looking cool.

"Let me know if you actually need me to start healing you. For now I am just making sure you have the needed energy to go all out. I am unsure about where your limits lay and I do not want to risk making a bad judgment call at the moment." He was speaking to Freyd in a calm matter as he observed the situation.

  14. Valentine was in the back writing song lyrics when he heard someone entered. The door to the place was usually locked and people never tried as he had not officially opened. He hot up to check out the disturbance to see Chase inside.

"Oh! This is my fault. I forgot to inform you that the item has been made. Check it out!" Valentine had remembered that Chase commissioned an him for an item to be made. It took Valentine numerous tries but it was completed eventually. It was the first time Val came in contact with material of such a high quality. The recording was crisp and took Val some serious vocal training to get right. Valentine went behind a small desk and pulled out a metallic looking crystal. "The song is a bit more heavy metal then my usual stuff but it should fit your needs nicely. You can have fun with it." Valentine sent the song to Chase before heading back to his studio. "Lock the door when you walk out this time. Cannot let just anyone in here."

  15. "I do not mind speaking out. I say what must be said and I am beholden to no woman, man, or beast." Calling Valentine surprised by the fact that Freyd showed up would be an understatement. At present point he believed Grimm had a higher chance of showing up and stripping in the square. Even if he worked underneath the guy it did not mean he knew him well. If Valentine cared about assassination's he would be fearing for his life.

Valentine looked over the stuff he was offered. "Thank you. I will take these. My build is built more towards support. I may have a sword but it is more for decoration at this point. It would be no use for me to try and directly battle it." Valentine started to eat the food he was given. The beginner potions was placed on his belt to use in an emergency. "We can start heading in now."

  16. "It was simple, Albi."  The health drop of the big bear was impressive. Valentine could only admit he severely underestimated the overall power his baby was capable of releasing. It felt like just yesterday Valentine was doing the most damage when it came to fighting monsters. It was weird to see how much things could change with the passage of time. Valentine knew even if he could not whack monsters to death like he used to. He could provide ample support for his baby.

As the bear turned a dark shade of rogue a sense of crises rose in his heart. He remained level headed as a monster entering a berserk state was not uncommon. "Avoid getting hit, as healing you up would become a pain. Sherry." Valentine made another call when his familiar returned. This time she took on a eerie light green shade as she misted over to Grimm. It was the activation of his Energizer skill.

  19. Valentine was a bit tired as he sent a message out to the guild.

To: Firm Anima Members above level 30.
Anyone in the guild mind helping me with the Nemean Lion Quest. I am squishy and this thing looks like a suicide mob. Coordinates for the quest will be at [XX,YY] 17th floor.
    From: Valentine

He was requesting for assistance on a quest that was miles out of his league. He heard about the quest in passing but was never aware of the requirements to unlock it. That was until he listened to the ramblings of a drunkard NPC. Next thing Val knew he unlocked the quest. After reading the details he could only curse at the sadistic developers who would make such a torturous device. Valentine could not help but ponder if Kayaba really just wanted them all dead. He stood in front of the Coliseum waiting for a guild mate to show. Valentine had no doubt that a member would show. The seniors in the guild were eccentric and would often be on various floors doing all sorts of things. He would no be surprised if a members was already within walking distance.

  20. "If I am not mistaken I am missing point one percent of experience till tier 2. Afterwards I will be a mid level player. Almost ready for the frontlines of war. This is actually my first time fishing. I had the skill for some time but never got around to trying it. As for the complete specifics I am unsure." Valentine had to answer while he tried to open up the chest. He was excited at the thought of untold riches. His disappointment was almost noticeable when he opened it up to find a mostly empty chest. "I guess this was the reason why it was so easy to fish up."

"You can try getting it later if you want. Seeing as how you show interest in these tertiary type of skills." Valentine readied his fishing line. "I can try walking and fishing as well. That way we do not stop looking for materials. As long as we do not head too far away from the falls."

  21. Valentine accepted the smoothie and engraved the kindness into his heart. Aquan did not have to share but since he was Valentine knew how to return a favor. "I am still very close. So close I can almost taste it." He stopped talking to take a sip of his smoothie. As the flavor hit his taste buds, Val was glad that facial expressions would normally be harder to see on the 21st floor. He finished it since it was a gift. Not many people knew that he was not a fan of raspberries.

As Valentine looked around the underground waterfall caught his attention. "Let's head over there. There should be some good stuff." As Valentine approached a small stand selling fishing materials took his notice. He gained the fishing skill as a bet but never used it before. He shrugged as he grabbed a line. "I probably will not be able to get something good but who knows." The line was in for three seconds tops before he thought he felt a pull. Valentine wheeled in as a treasure chest popped out. "I guess I got reely lucky."

  22. Valentine was having a tough time keeping up. He thought his hands were fast but Aqaun was simply keeping him in the dust. He quickly nodded upon hearing the mans goal. "There is always a reason for more materials. As a cook you would probably go through a lot of them by yourself. So it is impressive that you can quickly gather more than what you are using. The extras you can sell off and make a pretty penny. All your fighting ability would come from your gear. It is not a bad trade off if you are in a party." Valentine stopped to pick up some cool looking mushrooms. He had a faint urge to eat them.

"You would also be able to use the raw materials to exchange for gear so you should never be lacking in anything. It is nice to have a goal. As not everything needs to be fighting. There are more than one way to play this game right." Valentine laughed as he gave Aquan a playful shove.

  23. Valentine made his way back into the bar tired but with a grin on his face. The worried merchant released a sigh of air upon Valentine's approach. "What happened to your friend? I thought you left with him to complete the mission together?"

Besides a cold light that flashed through his eyes Valentine was able to remain cordial. "He got busy and could not complete the quest. He is perfectly alright though." Valentine sat down as he spoke a bit tired and lacking energy.

"Well. This is some money and stuff for you. I thank you from the bottom of my heart." Valentine had no doubt the merchant meant it. For people in that type of profession it would not be surprising that profit was more important then family. They would rather loose limbs then loose money. He knew the type as the game emulated real life.

"Thanks. If you ever need anything else feel free to look me up." Valentine got back up and departed to head home. He could use some tender love and a nap.

"Circumstances had me living in my own little studio for a bit. When I met Grimm I discovered I did not want to live alone. After dating I always believed the next step was cohabitation. Later I may even pop the question. Besides there is never a place like home." Valentine was able to find more stuff as he looked around the place. "I actually enjoy the company as gathering materials can be pretty boring to do alone. Your gathering skills are really good. It would normally take me an hour to find half of the stuff you do. I guess it is the difference in our stats and skills. I can be pretty trash at finding usable stuff."

Personally I have been on break from questing. I was working on some business stuff from crafting as well. I keep saying I should open up my shop but I have been a bit lazy. Remind me again some other time and I will invite you."

Looking around Valentine did notice some materials that could be used. He gathered up some as he was speaking. "Yeah. This floor is said to be decent when it comes to finding stuff around the place. Also, congrats to having your own place. Real estate is never cheap in this game. I practically made myself destitute buying an estate for Grimm and I. Granted the place is not even remotely done and could use a lot of work. What kind of stuff do you cook at your place?"
