Aquan

Aquan grabbed the food items that he purchased and sat down with Valentine. "I'm not positive what my plans are. I want to set up my shop, continue to gather and get lootable materials and items that I can sell, use, and give away to others. I'm hoping that I can continue to develop those skills, but it will definitely take a while. I have not seen many people who are primarily focused on support gathering instead of the normal tanking, healing, or DPS abilities. Hoping that I can create this skill set to assist those who need it the most, but who knows where I will end up eventually." He shrugged and took a bit of his hotdog.

"How about for the next couple days? I have a couple quests I want to handle, so hopefully after those I can continue my looting skill path. I'm 20% of the way to my next skill, and just need one more level in order to have space for it. After all of that, I may starting working towards a familiar, take some higher quests, and planning out my equipment after I get a lot higher."

As the pair walked in the Town of Beginnings, Aquan got a little worried. He knew that Valentine could protect him if anything happened with this floor being relatively weak in terms of threats, but beyond that. He knew that this was not the best area to go. "Valentine, where are we-" He began to worry, but the pair luckily came upon the sketchy shop on the first floor. He took a soft breath and approached the menu.

His eyes scanned the menu, not really sure what to get. Aquan laughed a little at the onion joke. "That is true. Lets hope I don't need mouth to mouth in the next hour or so." He decided on a very basic hotdog with ketchup and mustard with fires, an American classic. "So Valentine, what is a major goal you have in Aincrad?" He did not know if that would be a hard hitting question or not, to him it was not an issue to answer it, but some people could be strange with talking about major goals.

Aquan could not help but blush a little and smile when Valentine was talking about being his friend and helping him. It was a nice thought to think about the man relying on him for help and assistance, him possibly being able to pay Valentine back for his assistance. This is not a transaction Aquarian, remember that. He sighed mentally and looked around. "A hotdog sounds fine. I don't think I've ate at a player's shop before until, well, in a few minutes."

The two of them eventually headed out towards the shop. Aquan could not help but have a bit of happiness within him as he walked. He made a friend, something that was difficult for him to do in the real world, and his friend was willing to help him do things. A tiny voice in the back of his head was trying to make him aware of the fact that he was going to get food with an attractive gay guy, but he quickly pushed that idea down, knowing of his boyfriend as well. "I'm glad we are friends." Aquan muttered, it was partially to himself, but it was out loud.

Aquan turned and looked at Jomei, his eyes still analyzing the fight. "Yeah... Yes I'm okay. Fighting is still something I'm new at. I haven't fought a lot of monsters around my skill level because of it. I have putting more of my statistical benefits into gathering resources and loot items for myself and other people. I know fighting can come into it, I'm just not very capable on that front unfortunately. I know as I practice more at combat I will develop the skill further, but right now I am still below my normal capabilities." He shrugged.

His little speech to Jomei distracted him from the variant coming forward to surprise the three of them. A tentacle came into view and Aquan tried to quickly strike it, missing it and whacking a tree. "Oh no." He muttered and saw that his sword was wedged into the tree. "Freyd, it is your turn." He muttered, a sign of slight irritation in his voice as he fought with the sword in the tree.

Aquan smiled at the information he was getting from the man with the owl. He made a mental note to look into Tawny Owls, he did not know much about them. After the group got to where they were and Aquan made his first failed attempt, he stepped back to let the other two take care of them. In a quick flash of sword fighting and swinging, 5 of them were gone. Four from a senior Guild member Freyd, and one from the ginger man.

Aquan took a deep breath after the 5 of them were gone. Now he was face to face with only two Nepents, both of which had less than 10 percent of the amount of health he had. Jomei prompted him to go in for the strike, and he worriedly gave the man a simple nod, not sure how to go in to attack it. I know I wont be able to kill it unless I get a really powerful swing in, but maybe I can just cut it down enough to make it somewhat weakened so another AOE can take it out? But, the original AOE could take it out at full health... Hmm. He shook his head, trying to get out of his head.

Aquan ran forward and activated the sword art [Snake Bite], learning how to do this after his training with Valentine doing the Dragon Hunter Quest. He struck once and spun out of the way of an attack, counting his steps like he was dancing. He struck again and again in rapid succession, completing the sword art. The Nepent he struck lashed out at his leg, but he was able to jump over the strike, going back a few feet after he landed. He had a small smile on his head as he held his sword out in front of him. "Okay, you're up Freyd. One more AOE attack and they'll be gone."

Aquan nodded when Freyd mentioned that it wont take long for the quest with the two of them helping him along. He was about to take a step out towards where he believed the Nepents to be, but a bird stopped him. Aquarian's eyes went wide as he watched the creature, his face lighting up when the owl fluttered and landed on the man's arm. "I-I that owl is adorable. Do you know what breed it is? It looks to be a female but I can't tell the exact breed. Barred owls are usually brown, but they can sometimes be mixed with spotted owls because of their similar habitats. What floor did you get her, and what is her name? It could be an Elf owl, those are more endangered so they would be a lot more difficult in order to actually get ahold of. You'd be lucky if one got close to you. What did you do to lure it towards you? The type of food can sway the creatures in different ways. Like meat for example.." At this point his words slowly fade away until he is inspecting the owl but not saying anything. His facial expression shows that he is still calculating everything, but just in his mind.

After a full minute, Aquan stands up straight and nods to the other two people, not really realizing his silence. "Okay, lets head out. I'm not positive how far away the Nepents are. I appreciate you two coming along." Aquan looked back at the two and smiled before continuing the trek into the floor. After a short period of time, the three came across the normal spawning grounds. Because they were in a party of three for this quest, three Nepents spawned. "I'm not experienced with combat. I will go first and you two assist with combat?" He turns to them, Trying to see if that would work. He runs forward, but the Nepent he was targeting already begins to back up.

Aquan smiled a bit brighter when Grimm smiled. He was happy he did not make it awkward when he mentioned his sexuality. His parents did not have an issue with it, seeing it in tons of different animal species, but people didn't always have a good response with it. Of course he wouldn't have an issue, he has a boyfriend. Another small twinge of jealousy rose. Not that he was dating Valentine, but that he was dating in general.

His mind was swayed as he saw a small rock on the ground labeled as a material. He quickly smiled and picked it up. He looked over at Grimm when he introduced his familiar, his eyes going wide. "You..." He ran forward and looked at the creature. "I don't even know what you are and I already love you." He began to furiously swipe through the book Grimm let him borrow to find the creature. "I love the name Ryoto, how did you think of it? What kind of animal is Ryoto? Male or Female? What do they eat? What was the biome like? Was it easy to catch them?" Aquan begins to rapid fire questions at Grimm.

Aquan paused and laugh a little bit, then a little bit. He blushed from the laugh, but continued to laugh for a few more seconds. "S-Sorry. It's just weird for people to mention me being with a woman... I'm gay. I'm assuming just like you and Valentine. But I appreciate the sentiment." He laughed a bit more and sighed, looking around for materials while he was with the man.

He bent down to grab a small bunch of mushrooms while he continued to listen to Grimm. "I primarily joined Firm Anima because Valentine depicted it as a guild that could help me with crafting and creating items. Also for assistance in leveling up and a community. He did tell me that there would be some free items that I could get my hands on if I needed to, which is definitely helpful. I think I might look into it soon in order to acquire some items to get a familiar. Hopefully it is easy for me to get one if I do go down that quest path. I'm not sure what I would get for a familiar though, I'll figure it out eventually though. Do you have a familiar? Or any interest in one?"

"Yes a guild. It is called Firm Anima. It is based primarily around benefits for those who are crafting. I'm going to set up a shop somewhere on the floors for the cooking profession so being able to have that connection is really beneficial towards me. However they don't do just crafting things. Valentine, someone I've started questing with, talks about how the high members in the guild assist and run quests and training with lower players in order to increase their level, and the guild's level. I plan on questing soon after I'm done with these quests and continuing them until I get to a point where I feel like I could do things on my own. That will definitely take a while, considering I am level one, but I can get there with just some more work. As a knight, I believe you would work well with a guild. While your level is not ideal for a knight, your prowess and ability show great potential." He takes a breath, realizing he just talked her ear off. "But. Don't take my word for it, I've been in the build for less than 2 weeks."

Aquan gladly took the book and thumbed through a few of the pages, skimming the materials. I'll have to read this later. He thought to himself as he put it into his inventory, thinking it might come off as rude if he ignored his gathering partner and just studied the book for a few hours. He nodded along to what he said about Chase. His lips curled up into a smile when he began to talk about Valentine and the relationship he had with him.

He felt a small ping of jealousy grow in his chest, but he quickly ignored it as soon as it started to grow. "I'm happy to see relationships still working in a world like this. I do not have much, well any, experience in relationships in the real world so it is unique to see relationships flourish in an unique and fabricated world." He paused and took a deep breath, smiling and picking up a small bunch of fungus from the ground, marking it as a material. "How long have you been in Firm Anima? And what is your experience with the guild?"

Aquan's eyes lit up at the mention of the book. "I... Yes I would like that very much." He smiled brightly and looked at the book. "It's interesting that they created a lore book like that. I never heard of anything like that being created before. I'd love to read it if you are willing to let me read it." He smiled and looked at the man. At the mention of Chase's name he calmed down and nodded along to what he said. "I met him a couple times and he distanced himself from the guild. It's confusing because he still responds to guild messages, but refuses to take part in it. There must be something holding him to the guild. I obviously don't know him well enough to even begin to put my finger on it, but it still does not make much sense. I suppose he still wants to help out, but still..." He shook his head, ending his verbal tyrant.

After a moment of fruitless searching, he turned to Grimm, debating on asking a personal question. "How long have you and Valentine been together? I've only known him a little bit but ever since I knew him, he's mentioned you two dating."

Aquan hopped down from the tree, brushing off any leaves or pieces of dirt that might be clinging to him. Aquan was surprised to hear a more chipper tone from Grimm. His attire made it seem like that was not his personality. He thought for a moment on Grimm's question, looking down at the man. "Hmmm, Usually I walk around the floor. Looking for possible low level quests. I like to analyze and look into different things that I'm doing to see how it relates to its real-world counter part. Like the leaves, animals, and the weather. Beyond that I just go out looking for materials, fight incredbily low level monsters, or ask others for company on quests. Like you. I've also asked Valentine on a number of occasions to assist me. The first quest I ever did was with his assistance. That is how I joined the guild." He nodded at the end of his statement.

A couple minutes later of searching, Aquan returned to Grimm. "Is Chase apart of the guild? My interactions with him before made it seem as though he was not, but his icon makes it seem as though he is. I have only interacted with him a couple of times but he comes off as cold towards the guild."
