  1.             Kylissia began to wonder if the black storm had anything to do with the destruction of Sotarou's quest item. There were quite a number of changes that had happened since then, it almost felt like starting over, with a revamped cast of NPCs, and a brave new world to boot.

The Gypsy NPC approached Sotarou, most likely to refresh his quest. As Kylissia watched the interaction unfold, it seemed to be the case. A part of the NPCs words stuck within Kylissia's mind, "Find a Soul that pairs well with you." This could be applied in a number of ways, but due to the context, it was clearly involving animal friendship or animal partnership. It was interesting hearing the different relationships players had with their familiars, though she'd only heard of about a handful.

"It really does sound simple." Kylissia remarked in response to Sotarou's words. "And I couldn't agree more, the best adventures are those shared with others." Her expression changed from her soft smile to a gaze and a grin filled with curiosity. "Say...do you have something in mind as to what you're looking for, or would you prefer to wait for an encounter that seems fated to you?" She asked, intrigued about the scenario once more.

  2.                      It would seem that the boy was under the impression that it was possible for a party to find multiple familiars if they encountered the quest NPC even once. Kylissia shook her head. "The quest only triggers for those approached by the quest giver, from what I know. It's all up to whom the quest giver chooses, they're quite an enigma in that aspect, for this quest, it's not you who finds it, the quest finds you." She explained.
"That being said, I don't mind if it is you finding the familiar, or the other way around. Since I have yet to see most of the floors and possibilities for myself, I would actually prefer it be you who finds one, seeing that you initially were going to set out for this quest particularly." She added, answering the boy's possibly implied question.

Sotarou noted that Kylissia could stop by if she ever changed her mind, that his shop was The Platinum Dragon. Odd, didn't she once hear rumors about a player whose title was the same name as what this boy's smithy was called? Better to not question rumors for the time being, and focus on the present for now. This player was rather intriguing so far, so it was time to prepare for the coming adventure and see if this boy could live up to Kylissia's hopes. "Let's get to it, then." She answered, nodding her head in agreement.

  3.                    Kylissia noticed the change in the boy's expression when she mentioned her choice to not wear armor at all times. She could have easily told him how the safe zones make it literally impossible for players to die within them, how even duels, from what she'd heard, could never drop a player's HP to zero. She could have told him these things, and more...but that would surely be taken as brushing his thoughts, and his real life experiences, aside. Kylissia knew caution, and she knew to equip her armor before stepping out, but anywhere within town was fair game to dress casually.

She also knew of a similar situation back in real life, where she'd gone out with a friend...the car was totaled in a crash by a careless driver, and while young, teenage Rebecca had survived, her friend did not. She knew this pain, she knew this loss, and she knew there were always risks in life. She knew today of how lucky she'd been. She was confident, but not absolutely foolish. Caution could take a person places, but one stricken with constant fear could go nowhere.

Kylissia's expression showed sympathy, as she looked at the young man thoughtfully. "Oh...you poor thing..."
She placed a hand on his shoulder, wanting to inspire hope and reassure him. "It's going to be all right...your friend may be gone, but you can keep living for his sake. Just because the past can't be changed doesn't mean that the future will always be a menace, you don't have to be on guard at all times..."
She remembered the time when she spoke similar words to herself, out loud, to help herself accept the past and move forward to the future. There was nothing she could do about the past, but she could still live in the present. "It is impossible to live life without risk. Caution can protect, but there can be too much of a good thing, and that has consequences of its own." She added. There were people like her younger self, and people like this boy here... people who have lost people they knew, whether to carelessness of certain individuals, or to people whose inner selves were twisted to the point of being monsters themselves, and both existed within both worlds...
If Kylissia could grow stronger, then at least in this world, she may be able to protect others from those twisted enough to gain pleasure from giving harm to the innocent.

Thankfully, the topic changed. A party invite appeared in front of Kylissia. She grinned over this unexpected turn of events. Under the assumption that the invite indeed came from the young man she was speaking with, she chuckled again, then spoke.
"How lucky that you'd manage to guess my username correctly...Sotarou."
After accepting the party invite, it was time to bring the topic to the quest itself. "If I remember correctly from what I've heard, the quest grants a player the opportunity to make a creature into their ally, yes? Though, I've heard that only one player can benefit from such opportunities at a time, so if we were to try that quest, one of us will only accompany the other." She noted.

  4.                            Kylissia was not surprised with how the young man appeared to carry himself during the conversation. The clearing of his throat before he began, his darting gaze that kept shifting...ah, perhaps he was nervous? Kylissia proceeded to look at him up and down, a quick once over in attempt to see if she could glean anything from the boy's body language.
Then came his question to her. Kylissia chuckled.
"I'm not that high enough level just yet, though if I was, I certainly wouldn't mind carrying a Samurai in training like yourself." She answered. Placing a hand on her hip and letting out a slight sigh, she'd continue. "Honestly, I'm just growing tired of seeing the same city day after day. I've been in my fair share of battles as well, but they were mainly against the weakest creatures in the game, which I've proven myself more than capable of handling. If I'm going to rise in level and expand my horizons, I'm going to need to do something more." She explained. She then turned her eyes towards the boy's, a glimmer of intrigue showing through her gaze while a slight smirk formed on her lips. "I then noticed you walking towards this teleport gate on your lonesome, and wondered if you could use some company."

The boy asked Kylissia if she needed any armor, and offered his services as a blacksmith who made custom order equipment. "I'm fine for the time being, I already have a set, I just prefer to wear something other than armor when in the safety of the safe zones. Thank you for offering, though." She answered with a warm smile.

  5.                   The training session with that young woman had yet to bear much fruit, Kylissia's level was still problematically low before she'd ran out of time. She got up from her rented bed in the local inn. She'd need to start training and grinding soon if she wanted better living for herself, that takes col, and she wasn't earning as much as she needed as of the moment. She looked into the mirror, no more than a minute or two, then she began to change into her usual outfit for being in the safe zone.

She first put on her dress, which was carnation pink in color, with a Scoop neckline and butterfly sleeves, and a short ruffled skirt, with the hem being at the waist. She then put on her white leather jacket, which she believed complimented the outfit well. She also now wore carnation pink wedges with a pair of white thigh high stockings. She then put on the necklace she'd bought from a local artisan, crafted from fine silver, with clear gemstones dangling along the center in a semicircle, the exact center having a gemstone that matched her aquamarine eyes.
Kylissia would then check her hair and face to make sure she was ready. She was the kind of woman who saw nothing wrong with always wanting to look her best, after all.

While she wouldn't mind it just being another day, she began to wonder if there should be something more in store for her today. Walking towards the teleport plaza, her eyes scanned the surrounding area as she kept an eye out for anything out of the ordinary. She noticed a young man heading towards the teleport gate, but he seemed to have no one accompanying him. It was dangerous to go alone, and the boy could possibly be near her level...hopefully.
So she would see if she couldn't catch his attention for a moment. She made her way to the teleport gate, so she could speak to the player when he began to approach the teleport gate.

"It's dangerous to go alone, you know." She began. "Is there anyone you'll be meeting up with outside this floor?"

  6.  Oh, this redhead was just too easy, teasing him was a cinch.

Sorun seemed to then have some trouble with his attempt to fight. He dispatched one of the three boars, so he had that going for him. That little stumble at the end, in Kylissia's opinion, was just par for the course, seeing that he may have been new, though she didn't know how the brunette would think of it. Kylissia proceeded to make a sweeping attack against the two remaining Boars. One of them was finished off, while the other seemed to be more clever than Kylissia had anticipated, using its tusks to deflect and disarm her. "Well now," Kylissia remarked. "I didn't think that the common boar would be able to use such tactics. Suffice to say, you're impressive in comparison to your peers."

Kylissia smirked. "But that changes nothing, however, you still don't stand any chances. Go ahead, try to win, it's better for you to die in zeal than as a coward."

  7. The boy seemed to be both comfortable and uncomfortable at the same time as Kylissia was looking him up and down. Now she wanted to see if she could get a reaction out of him for the fun of it, so she decided to see if a wink would tease him.

After Kylissia gave her username to the redhead and Yona, the redhead would introduce himself as Sorun. Yona would then send party invites to Sorun and Kylissia. Once the invites were accepted, boars emerged from the overgrowth, and they didn't look very friendly. Yona would rush towards the larger one, as another lesser boar would emerge and join up with the other smaller ones. Kylissia raised an eyebrow. "Ara, these little ones want to play, don't they?" She remarked. "I wouldn't dare go easy on them, Sorun, so neither should you. Yona's right. We should deal with them, but don't forget that this is a real battlefield." She noted to Sorun, before drawing her own weapon, and moving in to fight the lesser Boars.

The three boars squealed as they were all left badly wounded from Kylissia's Area of Effect attack. "Mm, you critters aren't as tough as you look, it seems..." Kylissia remarked, possibly maybe taunting the creatures in the process.

    This will be easy.

  8. The redhead accepted the Amber and pulled out an axe that turned out to have ran out of durability. The brunette girl would then give him some equipment to replace his lost item and current gear. He should be ready soon. The brunette girl pointed out that Kylissia and the young man would need to reveal their usernames if she was to send them party invites. Which, Kylissia was fine with, but before she could speak, the brunette girl sighed and asked to be excused for a moment, and would proceed to run off, leaving Kylissia and the young redhead alone for a short moment.

Kylissia looked back to the young redhead, giving him a once over as she began sizing him up in her mind. She didn't know enough about him to make a definitive guess as to whether or not she'd become good friends with him...or even, something more. A smirk began forming on her face as she began to think of all the possibilities, positive ones, of course.

The brunette girl returned, and requested for usernames, revealing her own after doing so.

"Kylissia. It's a pleasure." Kylissia responded.

  9.        All three of the players seemed to be in agreement that for this young man to have been out for a year wasn't the most plausible, but the evidence seemed to suggest it for the time being. For now, it would be best to simply help him out, perhaps even invite him to join the party.

Kylissia looked over towards the brunette girl, as she was the highest level player of the three. "We should set up a party and have him join in, we'd be able to accomplish more by working together." She suggested. Sure, the Brunette girl was of a higher level, but they might be able to handle themselves...hopefully. Kylissia was sure that her equipment would carry her through, but she didn't know about the redhead. She would access her inventory, and pull out a trinket from her inventory; an Amber.

Holding it out to the young male player, she said, "You look pretty light on equipment. I think this will fit in your third slot." As she essentially offered to give the item to this other player.

-Offering to give to Sorun: Amber(3 ACC)

  10. The young man would proceed to speak of what he remembered, though he seemed to have some mild difficulty at first. Whatever he'd been through, it must have been harsh. Only one thing seemed familiar enough to recognize, though...

The brunette girl believed he was merely speaking only of dreams, which may have partially been the case. "...But there actually was a storm, wasn't there?" Kylissia pointed out. The brunette looked over to Kylissia with a confused expression on her face, before claiming that no such thing happened. "That's what I'd thought, too, but when I spoke to others about it, they also recalled a storm with a black flood. Even the NPCs confirmed the storm's presence, though they seemed to have spoken about rebuilding, which is something I didn't remember seeing or experiencing." Kylissia explained. "It's not impossible... But it's been months, maybe even a year, since the storm. If the storm was the last thing he remembered...no, it's not likely that someone would be asleep or unconscious for a year." She continued, beginning to think aloud as she did so.

  11. My, things have been getting pretty interesting lately.

A player who carried herself with confidence was higher level than Kylissia, and didn't seem to mind carrying. Fear had gripped most of the playerbase, but the time was coming for the masses to do more than just sit around the starting city, afraid of being killed by the weakest possible foe. Kylissia knew this, and how could she enjoy what was around if all she did was stay in one settlement?

It wasn't long before the two came across a male player, lying down on the ground. At first glance, just anyone might simply assume he was napping and move on, but this player...he didn't seem to be relaxed enough to simply be asleep...or maybe he was asleep now, but was initially out for a different reason. Time passed as observation continued. Then the young man began to stir, though it was barely noticeable. Kylissia got up from sitting down, and the player would open his eyes, the first thing he'd see were Kylyssia and the other girl.

"Hey, you. You're finally awake." The girl spoke.

"There are better places to take a nap than on the ground, you know." Kylissia said with a warm smile. The young man wasn't making an attempt to get back up, so either he was somewhat tired, or was in mild surprise. Either way, he might need assistance for the moment. "Here, give me your hand." Kylissia offered, extending her hand for the boy to grasp. The redheaded male placed his hand in Kylissia's, and she would help him onto his feet.

The boy would ask how long he was out, and the other girl came out absolutely empty. "Sorry, but I don't have a clue either. What's the last thing you remember?"

  12. Kylissia had been needing to get more items before setting out, and she'd heard of just the place to do so. There was an Artisan shop within the starting city, but since it was within one of the shadier locales of the settlement, Kylissia decided it was best to equip her new armor before going in.

Once she reached the shop and entered it, she would look around to see what was around or if anyone was there. There wasn't anyone at the counter, maybe the shopkeeper was busy? Kylissia would continue to look around for the time being, eventually finding an amber and a crystal, both having some helpful enhancements.

It was then that she noticed the shopkeeper. Based on said shopkeeper's current activity, she seemed to be a quiet and reserved sort of person at first glance. Kylissia was looking at two of the items just before spotting the young woman, and thus she asked Kylissia if there was anything she was looking for.

Kylissia put on a gentle, warm smile. "Yes, actually. I'm looking for something that can benefit me outside the safe zone...and these two trinkets you have here should do the trick." She answered. "I have enough col to pay for one, but I'll have to supply materials instead for the other. Is that alright with you?" She asked.

Once the trade was complete, Kylissia would leave the shop and begin making her way to the safe zone's exit. The time had come to get out there at long last.

  13. Kylissia had been needing to get outside the starting zone for some time now, but she would need some equipment first. Problem was, however, she couldn't find many available Blacksmiths within the Town of Beginnings, leaving her to seek out other ways to get some gear for herself. She was able to convince someone to escort her to a rumored blacksmith said to be on the seventh floor, so she at least had that going for her.

Upon arrival, she would take a look around, before being greeted by the shopkeep. There were plenty of players who had become blacksmiths, but she'd never seen a male blacksmith as short as this one seemed to be. He must be young, but judging by the way he carried himself, he seemed to be experienced enough, and probably an adult at this point in time.

Upon the question the shopkeeper would ask, Kylissia would respond with, "Both, of course."

She would then place two of the items that were in stock onto the counter, along with the required payment. She kept her gaze towards the young man, as though she was sizing him up in a subtle manner. Not that she was, of course, though she could have started sizing him up while leaving variables within the thought process due to a lack of knowledge on him.

Once the transaction was complete, it was time to leave. "Thanks for the quality equipment, it'll be a great help. Take care, now."

Now, how to handle returning to the Town of Beginnings...

    Background:

    Spoiler

Rebecca Cyrene Lenoir was born to an Upper Middle Class family in the US. This Family she was born to was on a steady path to great wealth, and the parents loved their children dearly. Being the eldest daughter of the family did have its perks, but it also came with responsibility. Her father was a lawyer, and her mother was a designer, so when both were busy with work, they had to have someone else care for Rebecca and her siblings. Once Rebecca had reached the age of 14, however, her parents handed over the care of her siblings over to Rebecca herself. She learned how to care for other people when they need someone, although she did have the occasional quarrel and the typical “you’re not my parent” dispute…but such was to be expected in an environment like this. No one is perfect, after all.

Rebecca’s life from there started to become more hectic, as she had to manage her time differently, as she had to be there for her younger siblings when her parents weren’t around, but she still had her own life to live. She would often hang out with her friends, who had all kinds of personalities and interests. Unfortunately, some times out didn’t go pleasantly, but at least Rebecca and her family remained unharmed by these issues that were rare and far-flung between. Almost all of such misfortunes were merely accidents, anyway…her parents could have sworn she was lucky.

In her later teen years, she began to seek out her sense of self, to find out who she truly was, as her experiences with former and current friends caused her to consider what parts of herself were truly her, and what was merely influenced. This turned an occasional activity into a hobby, and that hobby was gaming, mostly within roleplaying. She mainly played self-insert characters during that time as she tried to use certain games as a method for trying to find herself. While this was an unusual method of doing so, she came up with an answer for herself…after taking a break and doing other activities with her current friends.

Once she came of age, she started college life and even tried to get a job. Even after college, however, she was going from one job to the next, never sticking around longer than two and a half years, as she couldn’t seem to find the right fit. It just so happened to have been half a month since she started looking for a better job when she acquired her pre-ordered NerveGear, along with a copy of Sword Art Online, a VRMMORPG everyone had been talking about as of late…but when she put on the NerveGear, everything changed. She found herself with a drastically changed life, and now she had to live with it… She was Kylissia now, a new person with a new life, and a personality carried over from her past self…

Welcome to Aincrad, Kylissia, you’ll both love it and hate it.

    Personality:

    Spoiler

Rebecca is an outgoing individual who has decided what kind of person she is, and prior to this death game, she wasn’t willing to let anyone change her. Whether she grows during her journey or not has yet to be seen. She has an eye for beauty and seeks a personal style that just radiates beauty, grace, passion and strength. She wants herself to shine and be seen for who she is, by all people. She loves having a good time, and will do what she can to enjoy her journey in this virtual reality, seeing the glass as half full, despite acknowledging the various problems. She is compassionate and affectionate, though she can also be a bit flirty at times. She’s clever and somewhat experienced, resulting in an aura of confidence within her smile. She’s idealistic and loves to dream big, making her an ambitious woman who pushes through, despite what others might say. Friends might see her as a kind, charming, and dependable ally, but her enemies are likely to see her as a force to be reckoned with, and not to be taken lightly.

    Virtues:

“The Flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all”

    Spoiler

    Caring:

Whether it’s for family, friends, or potential sweethearts, she is an affectionate and compassionate individual. Having seen both hers and others shares of woes and misfortunes, she won’t let people suffer under misfortunes or enemies, not if she can help it. Despite her flaws, she’s willing to lend a hand for those in need.

    Clever:

Knowledge brought the answer to many questions in her life. Some knowledge came from personal experience, some came from learning and studying. Depending on the situation, there’s a myriad of solutions that might be the proper course of action, depending on the scenario, the potential actions, and how she herself feels about it. With more impactful decisions, however, she maydwell on it for a short moment to really consider the options, and take them seriously to boot. Knowledge is power, and power comes with responsibility.

    Ambitious:

Kylissia is idealistic to an extent, and she tends to dream big(within reason, of course). She often sets a goal for herself before taking any steps, but she never considers planning the entirety from point A to Point B…in fact, she uses her cleverness and past experiences to cross any bridges her path leads her through, as long as she herself approves of the method used to cross it, of course. She’ll pick a mountain and climb it to the best of her ability, and she will stand tall.

    Flaws:

“You fell in love with my flowers but not my roots, so when Autumn came you didn’t know what to do.”

    Spoiler

    Hedonistic:

Why bother with suffering every day when you can stop to smell the roses while you can? Kylissia loves nothing more than a good time, so she’ll go to great lengths to pursue it. When there’s nothing urgent dragging her in any direction, she’ll look for something that’ll bring her joy or pleasure. To put it bluntly, she lives her life in the pursuit of happiness.

    Somewhat Overconfident:

Life before SAO might not have been the bumpiest road, but what she had survived had convinced her that there are many things she can handle, for herself and for others. She is less likely to flee when things start to become grim, it’s only when there’s an actual emergency that she chooses flight over fight, and it may be too late for someone when the realization hits. She is also convinced that she has a way with people, due to the diverse library of personalities she was able to befriend in her life…but how much longer until all that luck runs out?

    Ambitious:

While she loves to dream big, despite such dreams being within reason, She can become a bit driven in her attempts to reach her goal. Without a solid reason to discourage her, you aren’t stopping her anytime soon. Her ambitions may seem unreasonable to some, but plausible to others, yet it often becomes an issue when someone has a problem with it. While she works towards it as if the path was laden with tricky bridges and rocky cliffs, she pursues it like a train on its tracks, so either hop on board or get out of the way!
