  1. "Absolutely not. I've been on the beach with pants. It's not a fun time. Shorts are more ideal for this trek, at least in my opinion. I don't mind the feeling of sand against my skin, I don't wanna have to dig sand out of my pants later." She knew exactly how this would go if she wore pants, every little crease and crevice would have sand in it. She was NOT about to deal with that. It was awful enough that they had to do an escort quest in the desert, she wasn't about to deal with the awful feeling of sand in the pants.

    The heat was bouncing off the sand and as the sun went higher in the sky, the temperature only increased. She let out an audible groan. She hated the heat. Honestly she wasn't bothered by the sand rubbing up against her skin. She hated the heat more. Sand absorbs heat and in turn makes it even hotter. Which is why she chose sandals and shorts, yes it meant that her skin would be hotter, but it also meant that she wouldn't have to take layers off as she got hotter and hotter. If it came down to it, she could change out of her plate armor but that would leave her utterly and completely exposed, and she didn't want to risk them being caught unawares.

  2. Ciela watched as Zamek moved very slowly. This was an escort quest. The bane of her existence. She let Wulfrin take the lead and she held the rear.

    Ciela looked around, paying attention to small details. She was on edge due to the heat. It was making her quite cranky.

    She materialized some snacks and handed them out per usual. Inside the tin was cut up cucumber and watermelon. "Here, have some snacks that are pretty hydrating. I also made sure to bring lots of water." 

    The trek seemed to go so much slower than their previous quests. Although she attributed that to the way that walking in sand slowed them down. She decided to swap the shoes she wore to sandals, she did not want to walk around for hours with sand in her boots. She changed her skirt to shorts that met just above her mid-thigh. She knew she was already going to fight the heat with her armor, she wasn't about to do it with pants and shoes. After changing, she felt much more comfortable.

  3. Ciela relaxed up against the rock wall and let the water from the waterfall massage her back. Ciela had almost what was like war flashbacks to the waterfall on Floor 2 when her and Wulfrin had to sit under the waterfall and get absolutely blasted by it. This waterfall had by far less power behind it and was more like the waterfall equivalent of the gentle crashing of waves on the ocean shore. She appreciated the relaxation. Ciela hadn't been sleeping in as she usually did since Wulfrin was taking her out early in the morning right after he'd get back from the forge. Which meant she would wake up at the butt crack of dawn. Wulfrin had recently been helping her get ready for the frontlines so they've been making plans on how they can make sure she's ready.

    Their wedding coming soon has also had her slightly stressed, thankfully the system has a way to plan it all and she doesn't have to do much of that. Boy was she happy about that. Wedding planning was hard enough, but also prepping herself for the frontlines would've been a deadly combination. Maybe not deadly but she definitely wouldn't have had a very fun time.

  4. The two ate their lunches without any interruption. Ciela relaxed for a moment, enjoying the sounds of the river and the waterfall next to them. It was so loud she could barely hear herself think. "After lunch I believe I'm gonna sit under the waterfall and enjoy the rush of water against my skin. Would you like to sit with me Perlita, or would you like to chase some of the fishies?" Ciela watched as Perlita eyed the little fish in the water and was given her answer. 

    Ciela put her basket and blanket back into her inventory and changed into a bathing suit. She had changed into a black strappy low cut swim dress and sat on the rock that was perfectly placed below the waterfall. As Ciela began to relax she was splashed by a large droplet of water. She laughed and wiped her face as Perlita dove into the water. She only wished Wulfrin was here to enjoy the fun and relaxation. He truly needs it.

  5. As per usual she stored her lunch basket complete with their meals and any snacks they may need along the way. Most of the time she'd over prepped snacks but they would snuggle up on the couch and snack before falling asleep. 

    Wulfrin mentioned Fortazela, Ciela didn't like heading down to Fortazela. Not because of the sand. But Ciela absolutely hated the heat. Pretty funny considering her main extra source of damage is fire. She grew up in the south and has learned to absolutely despise the heat because of it. "I'm so grateful my hair can't frizz in a game." She ran her fingers through her hair then brushed her bangs away from her face.

    She looked over to Wulfrin. She had almost glossed over what he'd said. "Wait. Wait. Wait. You mean to tell me we are going into the heart of a volcano? How do you suggest we survive going into the heart of a volcano?" A puzzled look washed over her face. She almost looked as if she was about to scold him.

    "Other than go into a volcano during this quest, what else does it entail? Are we going to skydive off of a dragon?" She snorted as she finished her statement. Looking to hear what Wulfrin was going to state next.

  6. Ciela and Perlita having finally returned to Krycim, she went back to the spot that they had enjoyed before being distracted by Anti. She placed her blanket down on the ground. Sticking close to that waterfall the pair played under earlier. 

    Since they were in a safe zone, Ciela unequipped her armor and sword but was prepared to reequip them at a moments notice. Should that moment arrive. 

    As per usual Ciela had prepared lunch for the pair. She had even left some behind at home for Wulfrin. Ciela wondered what he was doing. She could picture it vividly. He was probably off fishing nearby the forge, prepping new player gear at the forge, or leading some starry eyed new player out of the Town of Beginnings as he did quite often.

    Ciela laid out Perlita's little fish treats and took out her lunch. She had made homemade potato chips and a simple bacon sandwich. She began to dig in as Perlita greedily ate her little fish treats.

  7. Ciela and Perlita had begun their trek back to Krycim. When heading here from Krycim it felt like a shorter trek. Ciela didn't recognize anything from the previous journey. Thankfully, she could see it off in the distance so she headed that way. As she and Perlita walked, she began to search for materials once more. She wasn't wasting the opportunity to find something and further her foraging career.

    As they walked along Ciela heard a loud growl. Wulfrin had warned her of the different mobs on Floor 6 and what could potentially jump out at her. Not feeling as if she was ready to take something on yet, she picked up Perlita and began to walk at a bit of a quicker pace. She stumbled over a tree limb, and the menu popped up saying she got materials. She unenthusiastically exclaimed, "....yaaaaay..." She spit out the mouthful of dirt that she inhaled and trekked on.

    After what seemed like forever, they finally reached the outskirts of Krycim. Ciela let out a sigh of relief as she entered the village.

  8. Ciela picked up her little otter companion. "That person sure was an enigma weren't they Perlie?" Ciela began thinking about the battle that just finished. What was Anti's motive? Were they just there to challenge players or were they a player in disguise? Ciela remembered for a quick moment that she'd swiped away a menu to help Anti up. She looked through her menu's to find that she'd been awarded a new skill. The skill was called Concentration. She planned to take note of it to read it later. She didn't feel as if taking a moment to read it here was a very smart option, especially since she knew this wasn't a safe zone. She began making the trek back to Krycim. She would use this opportunity to search for materials. She needed them badly, especially since people have been placing big orders in her shop. Materials are necessary for her to fill orders, extra materials are never a bad thing.

  12. Ciela waved slightly at Etherial after being introduced to their new party member by Wulfrin, "You'll be fine, between me tanking hits and Wulfrin doing damage, you just have to sit there and look pretty." She smiled at Etherial. "We would much rather keep you safe."

    She looked over to Wulfrin and her palm collided with her hand, "You didn't research the quest before coming down here?" She shook her head and made a tsk noise. "Mr. I'm always prepared." She mocked him and chuckled. Unfortunately she didn't think to put any research into it either since Wulfrin usually knows what he's doing. She beat herself up a little on the inside.

    Ciela began flitting through the menus. "It looks like we're looking for... uhhh..." She squinted her eyes. "The town of Urbus? Which is where we are. But we haven't encountered the quest giver yet... huh. That's peculiar." Ciela scratched her head in confusion.

  13. Ciela had spent the morning preparing a meal for the two of them, they had been going on frequent picnic dates so she packed it to go. She had just sat down and buried her nose back in her book when Wulfrin came home.

    Lucky thing too. Wulfrin had that glint in his eye. She knew that glint all too well. He'd found another quest for them to go on. Or better yet, he'd found more info on the Tech skills he's been wanting to collect. He treats those skills like pokemon cause boy does he "gotta catch em all." She didn't mind though. It meant more experience for her and experience was needed. Especially if she was going to be ready by the time the frontline crew finished the labyrinth. She wanted to fight alongside Wulfrin, Freyd, and Morningstar to clear the game.

    Wulfrin began to mock her reading as he came in. "So Knight in shining Red Coat," Ciela responded to her other half in the same tone. "Sure, where are we going?" She prepared herself, getting her armor, sword, and shield all equipped.

  14. Ciela laughed at Katoka blinking at Wulfrin's ostentatious entrance, "Yes, that is a regular occurrence. If we get separated he uses his little fire chicken, Solaris to find me."

    Ciela smiled at Mina. "I like to be prepared too. Here. It doesn't provide any mechanical benefits. But they are quite tasty." Ciela materializes a little tin for each of them. Inside was her specialty. Fresh and warm croissants with different flavors and fillings. She wasn't sure what they liked so she wanted to make sure all bases were covered. Wulfrin's croissants were sandwiches with ham and cheddar on them and he had two glazed donuts as a little treat. She also made sure to pack a treat for Solaris in Wulfrin's tin. Mina and Katoka's tins had croissants with different flavors such as chocolate, raspberry, blueberry, a regular cream filling, and two plain croissants with butter just in case.  "It's not much. I wasn't sure what y'all liked so I tried to cover all my bases." She smiled at Mina and Katoka.

    When Mina pulled out the fluffy coats she immediately wanted to borrow the white one. "Could I have the white one? It looks so cozy." She put the fuzzy white coat offered by Mina on and immediately began petting the coat. "So soft.."

    Ciela led the party into the tavern and approached the bar, looking for the quest giver. It was then she was met by the barkeep Alexander. He seemed to be polishing a mug as they approached. She spoke up, "We're looking for some information about an ice monster? You wouldn't happen to know anything would you?" 

    The barkeep takes no time to spin a woeful tale to the party, to Ciela this seems oh so rehearsed. This is the guy. "You must be speaking of Absolute Zero, it's been spotted nearby recently." Alexander places the mug down on the bar top. "Will you please take care of it, for myself and the residents? We are concerned that it will make it's way to our quaint town and we won't be able to stop it."

    Ciela nods and accepts the quest given by the barkeep. "Well, let's go kill an ice monster." Ciela then led them back out of the tavern and to the spot where Absolute Zero was rumored to spawn. And as they approached, the chill in the air was almost unbearable. They stand before a frozen lake and wait for Absolute Zero to emerge.

    After a moment, the huge ice monster emerges from the ice and Ciela takes a defensive stance. She decided to make the first attack, hoping she wouldn't miss. She knows she won't do much damage, she's probably gonna have to be carried through this fight as usual. But.. if she can get off a stun, she can assist her party members in not getting attacked... this round at least.

    Ciela runs towards the humungous ice monster and slips as the thud from his feet shake the ground beneath her. She mumbles a curse and retreats to safety. "Man, I feel like I'm on an ice physics level in a platforming game. This sucks! Well, y'all try to hit this hunk of ice. My abilities seem to be failing me." Ciela let out an exasperated sigh.

  15. Ciela watched Freyd battle the king, she was puzzled as to why he was called "Bob" but she went with it. She's given random things random names before so she assumed this was as such. She planned to ask him more about it later. Ciela looked over at Wulfrin, then stopped her gaze upon Nymoria. She signed over to Nymoria, "I'm not doing much to hurt him either. Freyd and Wulfrin are the damage dealers. We can just sit here and look pretty honestly." She chuckled. 

    She wasn't worried one bit that we all couldn't fight this battle. Freyd had the health to take the hits, and "Bob" seems to have a big ol crush on our shadowy companion. At least it's not like when they visited Abdullah. She shuddered when she remembered the creep. Thankfully "Bob" is only a little bit murdery, but definitely insane.

    Ciela unleashed an attack into "Bob" and hopped backward. She looked over to Wulfrin and gave him a thumbs up as a sign that he was up next.

  16. As Wulfrin returned with the chest he had found, she placed a soft and gentle kiss upon his head. "Does that help?" She smiled and gently petted his head. 

    She nodded when Wulfrin asked her to watch his back, "Of course." She scanned the area diligently, making sure no enemies were coming up behind them. She peeked at him every so often, attempting to see if she could peek at what was in the chest.

    They were in agreeance that after this they were going home and she couldn't wait. She was tired and spent for the day. She was ready to curl up in Wulfrin's arms while reading a book.

    She was planning in her head what they were gonna have for supper. She planned that she was gonna make a simple dinner of pan fried salmon and shrimp, with mashed potatoes and broccoli cheese soup for sides. Her mouth began to water. She knew Wulfrin would be excited when he heard what they were gonna have for supper, but she kept it secret for now.

  17. The two of them were having worse luck than ever as the Nepent's health grew lower and lower. It seemed as if they were never gonna actually land an attack on this uncanny valley looking creep. Ciela watched Wulfrin activate his sword art, and covered her mouth as he tripped on a rock. She watched him roll, "Are you okay!?" Then she heard the loud resounding BONK. She stifled her laughter, looking Wulfrin over and making sure he was alright before doubling over laughing. "I don't mean to laugh but that was literally bonk.mp3." She finally calmed herself and remembered the task at hand.

    Reinvigorated she activated her sword art and as a pink trail followed her sword she laid into the Nepent, hoping she would kill it. Unfortunately she didn't do enough damage to kill it. Solaris came swooping in and finished the Nepent off before it could regen any more health and it scattered into a million tiny little fractals. All that was left behind was a small plant like egg. Ciela picked it up.

  18. Ciela missed her attack once more, her attacks becoming intermittent. The last attack that Anti performed left Anti burned so she knew that she could at least count on a little bit of damage. Anti's health bar was red, while Ciela's was still green. One more attack and Ciela would have Anti on the ropes. As Anti attacked once more, Ciela watched as Anti's health bar dropped to just a red sliver. A sound of triumph played in Ciela's head. 

    Anti began to back up, "I did not realize that you were so powerful." Ciela walked over to Anti and offered Anti her hand to help her up. 

    "You lost, now please leave me alone." Ciela helped Anti up and turned away.

    Anti spoke softly, "Thank you, hopefully someday soon I'll get stronger and challenge you once more. Until then, stay alive." Ciela turned to respond but before she could, Anti was gone.

  19. Once again Ciela laid into Anti. Anti's health bar changed from yellow to red soon after Ciela's blow landed. Ciela knew that beating Anti was possible, but would she run out of energy before Anti ran out of health? Ciela's basic attacks only did 8 damage which would only do 1 damage to Anti due to the mitigation provided by Anti's armor. Ciela would have to rely on Anti's ability to land attacks on Ciela. The damage from Ciela's armor alone would have to pull the deadweight that could potentially be Ciela's inability to perform basic attacks. She laughed to herself. She was panicking in her head before even running out of energy. She took a deep breath out as she began raising her shield too little too late. Anti's attack collided with her and once again damaged Anti more than Anti could damage Ciela. 

    Ciela's eyes met Anti, "You're reaching your end."

  20. Ciela retaliated at Anti for the last attack, but missed Anti by an inch. Anti began to cackle in a mocking way. Ciela sneered at Anti, having none of the attitude Anti was giving her and not falling for her bull crap for a second. She knew Anti was just egging her on to let her guard down and strike when the time was right. And strike Anti did. Anti once again slashed at Ciela with gusto. Ciela felt as if her luck was beginning to run out. While Ciela had more health than Anti, there was a little voice in the back of her head saying that she wouldn't win. She began thinking about Wulfrin and all the friends she's made since leaving the Town of Beginnings. It made her feel a bit better, and shut that voice up. Anti's health bar was well below half now, while Ciela's was still pretty full.

  21. Anti was still burned from Ciela's last attack. Ciela used this to her advantage as she slashed at Anti. Once again, she watched as Anti's health bar dropped lower and lower. Ciela felt as if she had a leg up on Anti. Ciela held up her shield in preparation for an attack from Anti. She began to think to herself what Anti would even want from her. She even began to think that Anti might be a player killer. She had seen Freyd disguise himself before when they were in front of Abdullah, so it's safe to assume that most players have access to that ability. 

    Just as Ciela expected, Anti landed an attack on Ciela in retaliation. Just the same as last time, Anti did less damage to Ciela than Ciela's armor did to her. The damage from Ciela's armor alone was outpacing the damage that Anti could do to her.

    • Defy Death | During this fight, death can be avoided. Any attack that would leave either the player or the boss at zero will result in leaving either entity with 1 health point left. <<The Gemini>> will refuse to execute the player if they win, though the player may be much less merciful.
    • Fairness Check | For each consumable/temporary buff the player has when facing <<The Gemini>>, it will gain additional effects in accordance with the bullets listed below. For example, if the player has 3 buffs active, <<The Gemini>> will have Paralyze, Bleed, and bonus DMG. This ability will adjust mid-battle in the event that the player consumes buffs in the midst of combat.
      • 1) Gain Paralyze: Removes player action for one turn on natural MD rolls of 9-10.
      • 2) Gain Bleed: Deals (12 * Player's Tier) unmitigated damage every turn for two rounds on natural MD rolls of 9-10.
      • 3) Gain Damage: Increases DMG by (Player's Level).
      • 4) Gain Mitigation: Increases MIT by (Player's Level x 2).
      • 5) Gain Health: Increases HP by (Player's Level x 5).
