[PP - F28] [PT] Rip and Tear | Field Boss Murdering
KnightessCiela replied to Katoka's topic in Intermediate Floors
Wulfrin had invited her to a last minute boss run with Katoka and Freyd. Definitely a team that would be unforgettable. Their target was the Floor 29 boss, the Midnight Ripper, and while the name alone would make most players shudder, Ciela wasn’t as nervous as she might’ve been. Freyd had apparently soloed the boss before, which gave her a strange sort of reassurance. If anything, she was just happy to be included, to matter enough to be invited into a squad like this. She hadn’t seen Katoka since the wedding, and now that she thought about it, she really missed her. Life had been a whir -
Ciela clung to Wulfrin like a wet blanket, fingers curled into the fabric of his cloak as if he might disappear at any moment. Her heart thudded with a strange mixture of excitement and nerves. This was it, her very first raid. No more just gathering materials or providing snacks on the sidelines. She was a frontliner now, and the weight of that realization made her stomach churn. She scanned the gathering crowd of players, many were familiar. Friendly faces she’d come to trust, friends who had stood beside her in battles or across her bakery’s counter. Some had even been there for her an

Avalanche was hanging on by a sliver, just a few more solid hits and it would be nothing more than scattered pixels across a frozen wasteland. But Ciela was reaching her breaking point. Her limbs ached with the sting of the cold, and the frostbite effect was gnawing away at her. She could feel the chill deep in her chest, like her heart itself was icing over. Her breath came in sharp, visible puffs. "You’re gonna pay for that, you oversized snowcone," she growled, gripping her sword with white-knuckled resolve. She surged forward, putting everything she had into one last charge. But just

They had planned the fight for late evening, strategic, efficient, and just early enough to wrap things up before the sun dipped below the jagged skyline of Aincrad. The idea was simple: finish off the Lich King, then head home to Fondante’s Inferno for a quiet meal and the kind of peace only sunset and home-cooked food could bring. Ciela had already mapped out the recipe in her head, something savory and warm, maybe slow-roasted meat seasoned with spice she’d been saving, paired with her favorite golden root mash. Aincrad’s cooking system let her be creative, and the fact that Wulfrin went ou

Just as they’d planned, Ciela unleashed a wide arc of an AoE attack, her blade sweeping through the air with precision and purpose. The crusty dusty musty Lich King screeched as the energy tore into its space, disrupting the dark magic it had been trying to summon. No skeletons for you, no no no. She smirked. Not on her watch. Despite going in without buffs, Ciela held her ground with confidence. Her new armor gleamed with enchantments earned through long hours of prep, and now, finally, she could see that effort paying off. Each time the Lich tried to hack her down with its massive sword

Ciela gave Wulfrin a sharp nod, taking in the carefully laid out battle plan he’d all but handed her on a silver platter. Having a clear strategy before diving headfirst into a high-stakes fight? Yeah, that made everything a whole lot less terrifying. It was just like him, always thinking ahead, always making sure she had the tools to survive, and more importantly, win. As usual, Ciela stayed close behind Wulfrin. He never let her lead into danger first, no matter how much her role was supposed to be that of a tank. It was frustrating sometimes, endearing most of the time, but now? Now sh

Ciela staggered backward, flailing as she tried to shake off the baby wyverns now latched onto her like particularly bitey accessories. She managed to throw one off, briefly, only for it to land on the ground, recover, and immediately leap back onto her other leg like a determined toddler with claws. One was gnawing determinedly on her forearm like it was a chew toy. Another was hanging off her boot, tail swishing aggressively. One had somehow gotten up onto her back and was currently attempting to make a nest in her hair. And the silver one, the one she’d dared to cuddle first, had its l

Ciela’s eyes sparkled as they approached the tiny creatures nestled in the crystalline nest. Her voice pitched up with barely-contained excitement as she looked over her shoulder at Wulfrin. “But look baby! Cute little dragons!” she squealed, pointing at the cluster of slumbering baby wyverns with the unshakable confidence of someone who’d already decided this was a good idea. Despite Wulfrin’s very obvious look of alarm, Ciela kept her eyes locked on him and without a single shred of hesitation, she reached into the nest. Her hands gently scooped up the smallest of the bunch, a glea

Ciela rolled her eyes with a grin, brushing off her husband's comment with a soft scoff. “What a dummy,” she muttered under her breath. She turned her attention toward the cave wall, using the lull in action to gather what materials she could. Her boots crunched softly against the frost-laced stone floor, the chill of the cave wrapping around her like a silent curtain. Crystals glittered faintly overhead, casting shimmering reflections along the cavern walls. It was quiet here, peaceful, even, in its own frozen, eerie way. Ciela knelt beside a patch of mushrooms growing near a jagged

Ciela stood still for a moment, eyes locked on the man in front of her. He was her husband, her everything. Watching Wulfrin in battle never got old. There was a sharpness to him, a kind of focused brutality tempered by elegance. Every motion was deliberate, every strike precise. It was like watching a master sculptor carve destruction from the battlefield. She'd seen him fight countless times before, but somehow, it never got old. As his blade cut through the final watcher with a hiss of pixels and fading red light, Ciela felt a proud smile stretch across her face. When Wulfrin turned ba

Avalanche had already taken a decent beating from Wulfrin and Astra, slashes of fire and flurries of steel cutting into its shimmering form. Now it was Ciela’s turn. Her heart thudded in her chest, but her expression was focused. She had a plan. Shatter. That was her latest strategy, designed to drop an enemy’s mitigation and make them easier to finish off. It worked well against most monsters. The idea was simple: she hit them first, then Wulfrin came in to deal massive damage. Teamwork at its finest. But Avalanche wasn’t playing by the usual rules. Her Shatter ability didn’t seem t

Ciela's blade connected with a satisfying clang, causing the Watcher to stagger backward, digital particles breaking off its crystalline armor. Its long and sharp claws swiped through the air, barely missing her shoulder, so close she could feel the chill pass her skin. She adjusted her footing, breath visible in the cold cave, eyes locked onto the creature. "One more hit and this thing’s done," she said, panting. "You got this, love." Her words were more for herself than anyone else. The battle had been long and tedious, but it would be worth it. She and Wulfrin still needed to collect E

Wulfrin had been laser-focused on helping Ciela become fully raid ready, even more so now that she was finally going to participate. They spent nearly every waking moment prepping, gathering rare boss drops, crafting consumables, and fine-tuning different pieces of gear. Ciela had never felt this level of pressure before. It wasn’t just about surviving anymore. It was about contributing, pulling her weight beside frontliners she so deeply admired. The nerves ate away at her, quietly growing louder the closer they got to raid day. "I don't think we'll need buffs,” she tried to joke, glanci

The group crept closer to the edge of the frozen lake where Avalanche was rumored to be waiting. The crunch of snow under their boots echoed softly in the silence of Floor 29’s tundra. Despite the bite of the bitter cold that clung to Ciela’s fingers and seeped through her boots, she couldn’t help but marvel at the snowfall drifting around them. Snow had always enchanted her, glittering flakes tumbling from the sky like sugar crystals. It reminded her of childhood winters, of laughter and snow angels, of warmth tucked behind frosted windows. Inspired, she reached into her inventory and pu

The Watcher’s health bar was steadily draining, piece by piece, chunk by chunk. It was slow-going, but progress nonetheless. Ciela's arms ached from the repetition, her breath fogging in the chill of the cavern. The icy, claustrophobic cave where the Watcher had made its lair had long since lost its novelty. She was over the frost-covered walls, the slick footing, and the biting cold that clung to her clothes like static. “I swear, if I never see another icicle again, it'll be too soon,” she muttered under her breath, landing another solid strike that caused the Watcher to flinch.
